Betrayal?!?!?
Sesshomaru tucked Rin tightly into the master bed of his chambers within the English mansion. She slept so soundly the whole flight here and yet, barely shifted as he brought her to her resting place within his house. The demon sat upon the bed next to her a moment, his fingers tracing the upper curve of her outstretched wings. He smiled slightly before looking back to her face as it scrunched amidst a dream and she rolled over.
Her wing flipped upward, sending him to the floor abruptly as she rested upon her side. Her other wing curled up about her form, protecting her and was soon joined by the other one.
“Soon, Rin, your wings will disintegrate as your blood calms, and you will slowly fall back to your normal state.” He stood slowly, brushing off the baggy black jeans he had chosen to wear. The chains hanging from the sides with soft clinking sounds as he turned and stepped away, thinking to himself.
I haven’t even called the others….How will I ever tell them Rin killed Inuyasha? Though of course, I’m sure they wouldn’t be surprised in the least. And where did this other demon blood in Rin’s body come from? Maybe she didn’t know….maybe she was afraid of it…
Sesshomaru shook his head, pushing open the doors to his massive study. His ambers rose to gaze upon the spines of thousands of books he had collected over the centuries he had walked this earth. “Something….must be written about her…”
Fingers tapped listlessly over a few books before he chose one about the different species of demons, from the animal demons, like himself, to the original demons who thrived upon evil and emotion. Sesshomaru turned, humming a song to himself he had heard while waiting to arrive home.
He sat slowly in the leather overstuffed chair at the black stained mahogany desk, scooting himself closer to the desktop as he flipped over the book, skimming through the first pages of introductory babble. He stopped a moment, looking to a picture of his father used for the dog demons entry, smiling a bit as she scanned through the babble about his two sons and the epic battles Inutaisho had endured.
His fingers flipped through a few pages, skimming the paragraphs of documenters about each demon species. He frowned some before he grabbed the entire guts of the book, flipping through them as if a bored kid in a library, never seeing one picture of a demon close to Rin’s physical form now.
He growled some, pushing the book to the floor. He returned to where he began, grabbing a handful of books before returning to desk to research more.
Hours had passed, books were strewn messily across the ancient Persian rug decorating the floor. The balcony doors had been cracked open, allowing the soft breeze of the night to pore into the room, ruffling the pages of the open books about the room.
Sesshomaru had fallen asleep upon his hearthside couch hours before, never having conquered his quest to figure out what Rin was exactly. His silver hair was fanned across his chest as he had pulled it over his shoulder. His hand gripping an open book to his chest. He shifted slightly, mumbling a bit as he felt the book pull away from his grip.
Rin slipped to sit next to him, smirking some as wisps of black and silver fell about her face. Her hand came up, pushing back a piece of silver that laid annoying on his nose, causing it to scrunch and wiggle like a bunny’s every time the wind blew. The girl inched closer, leaning down some as she nuzzled her nose to his cheek, causing him to stir.
“Sesshomaru….”
Heavy lashes fluttered as his ambers met her own, her normal ice blue eye color had returned to her gaze, her eyes darkly lined with smeared eyeliner and mascara. A smile couldn’t help but cross his lips as he sat up some, yawning slightly.
“Sesshomaru….I’m sorry…” Her words were quiet, sad. Yet suddenly, Sesshomaru felt as if his breathing had ceased. His heart pounded in his ears as he felt pain surge through his stomach. His eyes casted downward, looking to the knife she had plunged into his flesh.
“Rin….why?!”
