SUMMARY: “I want you to assemble five of my best men because in two hour we will strike that the heart of Naraku’s building. In the distance of the house Sesshoumaru’s ears picked up on a cellular phone ringing.

CHAPTER 65: RETRIBUTION PLANNING
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sesshoumaru entered the palace with such speed it would have only been a blur to human eyes. His hand was on the phone dialing his security office automatically. His breathing was ragged as his patience was wearing thin. Sesshoumaru’s was cursing silently as he waited for someone to answer the phone.
“Security division of…. Bankotsu speaking.”
“Bankotsu!” Sesshoumaru barked in a lethal roar. “Naraku has Kagome. We need to plan an assault right away. That bastard will die for taking what is mine.” He had to take a breathe to regain his waning control before speaking again. “Has Samou checked in yet?”
Bankotsu could hear Sesshoumaru fighting to salvage control of his emotion. That almost shocked the hell out of him. Never, and he meant never had he see or heard anything like this. Gone was Mr. Masurau’s normal rigid emotionless tone, so stoic and in control. It was replaced with fury due to his situation. “Uh…sir we have some bad new…”
For the next fifteen minutes Sesshoumaru listened to Bankotsu retell on how they hadn’t heard from Samou in a five-hour time frame. No one dared to contact him due to Naraku’s henchmen infiltrating their message. Sesshoumaru listened to his head of security talk, all the while clenching and unclenching his taloned hand. The more Bankotsu talked the more Sesshoumaru could feel himself loosing control. His eyes flashed red and there was a building pressure at the front of his face just above his nasal passage of his nose. With his other hand he brought it to the bridge of his nose and pinched it gentle trying to relieve the pressure. Sesshoumaru was lost in thought of how to proceed. ‘Kagome I’m coming. That bastard of a hanyou better not do anything to you. If anything happens to you…’ A pang hit him in the gut.
“Sir, what do you recommend? Sir? Are you still there?” Bankotsu heard the line go silent, like death.
Sesshoumaru heard his Head of Security ask him a question, but it didn’t register. Only that of his tone, which was a little warily and filled with perplexity. “Bankotsu did we get the floor plan from Samou’s equipment before we lost contact with him?”
“Yes sir. We are still getting a reading from his equipment, and we believe he is still inside the building. But as for what is going on in there, we aren‘t sure.”
“I want you to assemble five of my best men because in two hour we will strike that the heart of Naraku’s building. That bastard will pay!” Sessshoumaru’s voice growled with a deadly underlining promise that blood shed would be had. It was all due him. He, Sesshoumaru, had earned that right. In the distance of the house Sesshoumaru’s ears picked up on a cellular phone ringing.
“Yes, sir!” Bankotsu replied before disconnecting. He had one thought on his mind after his employer’s words came across clear as a bell. ‘Retribution!’
Sesshoumaru could hear Kagome’s cell phone ringing, but by the time he located the cellular contraption whom ever tried calling her was no long there. He shoved the phone in his pocket before leaving the estate.
Kanna entered into the office with the eeriness of a ghostly specter which suited her. Her steps were soundless as she moved into the dim office. Her black eyes took in the nothingness around her that she blended into so well. Kanna went forward with one thing in her mind.
Naraku could sense his powers were dulling, so when Kanna reached his side inaudibly. He only then just realized her voided presence calling his attention to her.
“Kanna, set up the security parameters for the building.” Naraku wheezed out. “We will be having company soon.”
Kanna responded to Naraku’s command, but with a lifeless gaze, then brought her tiny pale hand up to Naraku’s injured arm.
A feeling of emptiness flooded Naraku at her touch. The poison that had been injected in his arm dissipated into the abyss of her powers. Naraku could feel himself growing stronger. The wound was healing after Kanna had cancelled out the poison. His eyes grew clearer and shone with a new maliciousness.
“Leave,” was all that he said to Kanna in acknowledgement. Naraku’s crimson eyes took in the darkness that was filled with a scent so intoxicatingly sweet he was giddy with anticipation. The woman lying on the floor was his for the taking. Naraku chuckled. His plans for destroying the Masurau family line was almost complete.
“Yes, Kagome, I killed InuTaisho’s wives. Both of them. Well, Cassandra I take responsibility for but the other…” his smile widen. “Uh, let’s just say that Inuyasha’s mother never saw the car coming at her. Poor fool, he was to stricken with grief to even realize that his own life was at stake.” Naraku’s eyes settled on Kagome’s motionless figure as he talked. “You see my sweet Kagome.” Naraku said in a lustful hiss. “I wanted what InuTaisho had, and when I didn‘t get it. I took it. Now I want what his sons’ have and you know what?” He moved away from the desk to go to her peaceful body. “This time I will have it all. I had Kikyou.” He stated with cockiness. “The bitch doesn’t even know she is used.” Naraku laughed as he looked lustfully that the unconscious woman before him.
“Ah, Kagome, Kikyou willingly did do my dirty work. What was the dirty work you ask? I shall tell you.” Naraku answered, having his own personal monologue. “After she marries that fool hanyou then Kikyou will kill him. Therefore gaining what possessions he left her in his will, which should be everything. What do you think my dear?”
There was no response, but Naraku didn’t see to mind. He just continue this dialogue. “No, you don’t like that plan? Inuyasha would never do that… Hmm… Well, let me tell you that Kikyou can be very persuasive. How so?” Naraku chuckled at the thought. Kikyou can use that mouth of her quite well, if you know what I mean. And when she gain the hanyou’s assets I too will gain a few…” His hand went to her cheek and traced it with tenderness unknown to be had from such a villain. Naraku’s hand went to lower to her neck. “other possessions of my own that way.”
Naraku picked Kagome up in his arms and moved back to his executive desk where he placed her on top of it. All he had to do now was to wait for Kikyou to fulfill her part, which was to kill of the younger brother of the Inuyoukai clan. Then… Sesshoumaru.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome had images flashing through her mind. It was of the past. One was of her and her mother shopping. Another was when Inuyasha had dumped a cup of ice down her shirt at the annual company picnic. Then another one flash to her, it was of Sango and Miroku sneaking off on a camping trip because they felt the call of the wild. Image after image flooded her mind some happy, painfully sad, and others just hilarious. Kagome felt a warm spread through her at these past events that were her life.
But, then images washed over her that weren’t her own. As they came they washed away that cozy warm feeling that made her feel cold and empty. That one long memory that stood out the most was one of a little boy crying in a field of just beyond a forest. The fog and haze clouded his vision inhibiting him from seeing anything. Kagome could feel his worry. It was like she had tapped into his memories, his feelings. She willed herself to speak comforting words to the child, but the closer she moved to him the more she noticed how much he looked like some one he knew all to well. Damn if he wasn’t the spitting image of Sesshoumaru. Those eyes were unmistakable.
‘Gold!’ Her mind sputtered. Then she saw him. The evil that had kidnapped her and has been stalking her constantly. Artic cold seeped farther into her veins. Her body inhaled sharply trying to fight off the cold radiating from inside her small body. The little boy ran around the field screaming. “Mommy!”
Kagome’s heart was ripping into tiny little pieces at his cry. Next, what she heard made her sick. The evil spoke in a hard malicious tone.
“Mommy won’t be helping you Sesshoumaru, Heir of the Western Lands.” Then he laughed as he watched the little boy trip and fall over something in his path.
The view changed allowing Kagome a good view of what just Sesshoumaru tripped over. Kagome felt bile rise in her throat. It was the woman in the painting in the library. It was Sesshoumaru’s mother.
In the distance of the house Sesshoumaru’s ears picked up on a cellular phone ringing.
