Golden Eyes

Jakotsu waited outside of the room feeling completely put out. Here he was back in the world of the living and his best friend was a rapist of women now. Instead of just being an asshole that killed them slowly he had to actually consider sex with one and marry her? That was just the worst of it all.

“I can’t believe you are going to marry that bitch.”

Bankotsu smirked at his friend after he left a sobbing Beth behind.

“I need to settle down a bit and think about my future. You should be doing the same thing Jakotsu. Think about it you have no heir, no one to follow in your footsteps. You have to have a woman to do that since Inuyasha can’t do that for you.’
“Oh, and I almost forgot he is blind.”

“WHAT! You ruined his eyes! His beautiful eyes that were mine to pluck out or keep in? I can never decide on that…I definitely have to take those ears…he is just such a sweet thing. Ahhh….my beloved Inuyasha………”

Bankotsu huffed.

“Naraku destroyed his eyes. Did you even listen? Don’t you want a child of your own Jakotsu?”

Jakotsu snorted.

“Why the hell would I want a brat around? Unless Inuyasha could have my child then no thanks…..How did Naraku do this despicable act?”

Bankotsu told the whole story and Jakotsu lost it.

“You see! Do you now understand why I hate women? If that Kagome whore wasn’t there then my Inuyasha’s eyes would be just fine and that fur kilted wolf wouldn’t have been able to touch my pure Inuyasha leaving him for me…….ah the final embrace could have been legendary.”

Bankotsu sighed shaking his head.

“Well, I haven’t changed completely Jakotsu and you never change. You are not even focused on our conversation.”

“Huh?”

“See I told you that whenever Inuyasha is mentioned you can’t focus worth a damn. Besides he belongs to his elder brother and the rest of that lot.”

“So, I already knew that much. Doesn’t change my mind although I think you both are insane doing women. How disgusting can you get…..they are vile…..”

Jakotsu was trying not to throw up. It was just so wrong.

“You will get over it like you did with the others in our band. It is just that you have been out of things for a while.”

Jakotsu shrugged. It was indeed true. He did get over the weird things his friends did and as long as he was back he would have lots of fun killing again. It was a promise from Romulus and having Bankotsu around was just a bonus since his best friend may be weird, but hopefully he hadn’t changed too much. At least he was making his fiancé miserable and that was a good thing in Jakotsu’s book.

Heather looked up at Inuyasha. He had a hard time looking back at her. Part of him loved the woman very much, but part of him still felt betrayed.

“How are you feeling?”

Heather looked at Inuyasha and understood. He was trying to start polite conversation. It was a sign of his trying to deny that he was still bothered by the fact she lied to him.

“Inuyasha, let’s not play games. You want to save me from something including your anger.”

Inuyasha didn’t know how to tell Heather that her daughter was dead and had her body burned so that there was no way they could resurrect her. Then there was their relationship they had to deal with.

“I’m not playing games. I am just not ready to talk about things yet.”

The two sat alone in silence for a moment before Inuyasha had to tell Heather the bad news.

“Heather, I am sorry. I couldn’t save your daughter.”

Heather nodded as the tears came. She had a horrible feeling that Romulus would do something horrific to her daughter and to be honest she really didn’t want to know the details. It was too much right now to bear.

“I understand…….you should have left me to my death then………it would be more merciful.”

Inuyasha snorted.

“Mercy? That is what they call it, but fact is life is not meant to be merciful, it is meant to be life. You have it again so think of it as a chance to start again. I only wish I had the chance to bring back my Mother and would have given my life to do so. Don’t you think your daughter would want you to live? Don’t be so damn selfish.”

Heather sobbed.

“I wasn’t thinking selfish, I was just thinking of how to go on without her…without all the things I loved.”

Inuyasha put an arm cautiously around Heather.

“You can start by not forgetting them. By the way, my name is Inuyasha, nice to meet the real Heather. Will you consider starting over with me?”

Heather nodded yes, but her heart wasn’t in it and Inuyasha understood that it would take some time before they could start over.

“I want to Inuyasha, I really do, and I just need some time.”

Inuyasha cupped Heather’s face giving her a kiss.

“You will have all you need.”

Sesshoumaru listened and growled to himself. He hated Heather, but he wanted Inuyasha happy. In some ways he wanted to keep her dead. If only Kagome wouldn’t have purified her making her human. The only good part of that was she would die a human’s death so he didn’t have to deal with the wench forever. Just a good…….fifty……sixty years at the most…….at that Sesshoumaru felt a headache coming on.
