The Third Night

I tell you, if I got as many reviews for The Killing in the Naruto fanfics as I did for this fanfic, it would be totally awesome! (Not asking, just saying.) I am so glad that you are all enjoying my story! Please don't be mad at Sesshomaru, or Rin. It is going somewhere, believe me, but The Killing is my main priority right now. Anyway, happy reading, sorry for taking so long to update!

 

Rin did not hear from Sesshomaru for the rest of that night. The next day came, and she still did not hear anything from him that day...that is, until she was out in her garden, looking over her flowers. She wore a light yellow kimono, with an orange obi. Her hair was braided, falling over her shoulder to rest on her breast.

"Rin."

"Lord Sesshomaru!" She jumped, startled. "What is it, my Lord?"

"I will not be participating in intercourse with you."

Her heart fell. She had hoped that, by having sex with her, he would decide to mate her after all. She had hoped that plan would work. But she automatically suspected that he had figured that out, from how he looked at her now. He looked almost bemused.

"I am sorry, Lord Sesshomaru."

"Explain yourself."

"You.....I.....I thought that if you made love with me, you would choose to make me your mate. I am sorry, Lord Sesshomaru."

He glanced at her. "I knew that already, Rin. And I still spent the night and today thinking over it. But I can't become like him....I'm not like my father. I will not die a miserable death for some little human woman."

"Then what am I good for?!" She shouted, and covered her mouth quickly, looking up with wide eyes to see shock cross his face. She had never once raised her voice at him. She had never even thought about it, never dreamed of it. "I am so sorry, Lord Sesshomaru...."

"You are right, Rin. Many people ask what you are doing here. Many people have been slain by my hand for even suggesting that you are merely a concubine. But to be honest, and since I do not lie, the truth is that I myself, even this Sesshomaru, is completely unaware and unsure of why you are here. I do not know why I have let you follow me, or what your purpose is with me. But I am not like my father. I will not be like my father!" He said sharply, and when he noticed her wince, he flew off, ready to go and kill something. He needed to get the girl out of his head for a while. He couldn't sit there and think about her.

 

I know that was a short chapter, but its late here, and I haven't had much time.
