*Inner Demon*
Authors Note: Just a slight warning…. I did put in a little “touchy feely” in this one. Don’t be shocked and No it’s not the people I am paring together. Also notice there is a new sorta icon thing above. I am now introducing the “inner demon” talking. She got chills all the way down her back. Her heart was racing at this voice she remembered from so long ago. ‘How could this be? To be here, at the same place as this person’ She started to breath faster as it seemed like time stopped in this one moment.
She looked up at the face that was once, dare she say it, a friend and felt the panic feeling take over. She wanted out of this room. Out of this town and back to her father. She wanted someone she loved to come save her. She knew her father wouldn’t come get her but she wished it so much.
“What the hell is your problem Inuyasha?!” Kouga was mad and standing in front of Inuyasha. How dare he come over to them and start talking to his friend like that. What was the halfwit thinking! Shippou grabbed Kagome’s hand and moved closer to her. He could see the look of distraught on her face. He was also upset at Inuyasha’s words but wanted to leave the yelling to Kouga. He would sit with Kagome for now and try to comfort her.
“What? Are you friends with that trash?” Inuyasha smirked and turned to his lover. “Hey Kikyou look who we have here all grown up but still the same trash as before. The little dirty girl we thought to be friends with when we were younger.” Kikyou turned back around looking at the girl in the booth. Then it hit her “Oh my god! It’s you! How did YOU of all people get into a place like this” She laughed at Kagome making her feel even more upset than she already was.
“Inuyasha that is enough! I don’t know how you would know Kagome but…” “hahaha! Oh let me tell you Kouga” Kikyou interrupted him “It was when we were kids. Inuyasha and I were at the park playing when we saw a little girl sitting on the bench. Inuyasha went up to her but she wouldn’t talk to him. So I walked up to her and asked if she wanted to play. She still didn’t talk so I just grabbed her hand and we started to play tag. It was getting late and both of us had to go home and said we would be back tomorrow.”
Kikyou smiled at Kagome knowing she wasn’t comfortable. “We came back day after day to play with her and Inuyasha gave her his coat to wear one night and told her to keep it cause it was cold. Well, one day on the way to the park we saw her in the trash digging for food and asking people for spare food or money. How pitiful the sight was! We didn’t want to be friends with someone that was trash so we told her that she was nothing but the trash she was digging in and left her. Inuyasha did take his expensive coat back but the smell wouldn’t come out so he threw it away.”
“That is horrible what you did to her” Shippou now was upset at what they had said. He knew she had a hard life but to have someone do that to you as a kid and not have someone to care for you was just wrong. “Inuyasha I thought your father raised you better” Inuyasha turned to Shippou with a cocky grin “Of course he did and that means not hanging out with the garbage” He said the last part facing Kagome.
Kagome couldn’t take it anymore. Reliving those memories she had locked away in her mind. She never though they would meet again. She suddenly stood and ran behind Kouga to get to the door trying to keep her head low enough so people couldn’t see the tears in her eyes. As she exited the place she started to walk as fast as she could to her house. She wanted her father and mother to come hug her and make everything better, just like he did when she would see monsters or have bad dreams.
She had made it a block when she remembered her bag. Really there wasn’t anything in it but the lip gloss and the mascara she had. She had put her keys in the small pocket of the dress. The bag itself wasn’t a loss so she didn’t need to go back for it. ‘Breath slow and keep walking’ was all she kept saying in her mind as a few tear fell from her eyes.

“What you did is both wrong and very shameful!” Shippou finally let his anger out. He just couldn’t take it anymore. “She was just a child and you of all people Inuyasha should know what loosing someone is like! How dare you do something like that to her! Inuyasha your mother would be so ashamed to call you her son and I am sure your father would feel the same!!” Shippou left the booth after he was finished telling off Inuyasha. He wanted to find Kagome.
Kouga laughed at their expression. Truly he never saw Shippou upset before and by the look on their faces and the other patrons faces nobody expected him to yell like that. “You know Sesshoumaru is right. You are just nothing and that is why you are with someone that is just as equally nothing” Kouga paid the bill and quickly left to find her as well.
“KAGOME!!” Kouga and Shippou both yelled out to her. They had just finished telling off Inuyasha and Kikyou making everyone look at them. They wanted to find her and make sure she was okay. Kouga had her little bag in his hang. He was worried. Shippou was thinking the same. How could someone get hurt so much and still be nice. ‘How did she manage to be nice and not hateful?’
“Kouga! There she is!” Both boys trying to run to her and avoiding knocking people over. “Kagome wait!” It was Shippou that got to her first and hugged her to him. He knew she was trying not to cry. He picked her up and began the walk back to Kouga’s car giving Kouga a concerned look as they walked.
When they got to the car he placed her in the passenger seat and he hopped in back as Kouga got in to drive off. “Kagome… It’s okay if you want to cry” She wasn’t saying or looking at either of them. Just sitting with her head down and her breathing was shaken. Shippou moved to the middle seat in back and reached over to take her hand in his. “You really are strong and don’t let those idiots get to you. I should know how you feel. My parents also died when I was a kit”
Kouga was a little surprised at Shippou for sharing such a deep memory with her. Not many knew of what happened with his parents but his close friend that he considered family did. “I’m sorry” Came the shaky voice of their new friend. Both of them looked to her “Princess there is no need to be sorry. Those idiots will get what is coming to them.”

As the couple went back to Inuyasha’s house Kikyou was fuming with anger. ‘How dare those two yell at me in front of the whole restaurant!’ Inuyasha was just glad to get back home. He guessed tomorrow at school they would hear about what happened at NIV.
He just wanted some rest really and not to see Shippou or Kouga. “Inuyasha those friends of yours made us look like idiots and now the whole school will be talking about it! How can you be so calm about it!!!” She screamed at him. “I’m not calm about it! I wanted to beat them both but they ran away!” Kikyou was losing her patience. She wanted revenge!
“Inuyasha sweetie” Kikyou said in an evil way “Once we get home we should think of a way to get her back. She doesn’t deserve to get away with this. She is trash after all and we can’t let trash walk over us.” “You are right my Kikyou. We will but after I get something from you” Kikyou smiled. ‘Oh yes things most certainly will go my way or else.’ “Of course my love”

Shippou went to the passenger seat and picked up Kagome again bridal style. Kagome in turn buried her head into his chest. “Kagome where are your keys?” Kouga asked her touching her hair. She didn’t say anything and reached inside of her pocket to get them. She handed them over to Kouga and they started the walk to her apartment.
After getting inside and locking the door they sat her in the big comfy chair next to the couch. “I’m going to make some tea” Shippou turned to walk to the kitchen to look for the tea. It wasn’t hard to find and he picked just a lavender tea. He knew that it would help her sleep and she needed that right now.
Kouga was at her side the minute Shippou when to the kitchen. Looking at Kouga Shippou could tell he was worried for her just like he was. Kouga even picked her up and sat her down in his lap like a brother would do for their little sister if they got hurt or had a bad dream.
“Kagome” Kouga leaned his head on top of hers. “We are home it’s okay to cry. Nobody can see you cry. We won’t say anything. Please trust us”
Kagome could hear him but it was hard. He wanted her to trust them so much. “Why… why do you care so much? You shouldn’t.” Kouga knew she was hurt but she should trust them. They were not like those people. “We are your friends… true friends for that matter. We wouldn’t do that to you.” Kagome wanted to trust them. It has been so long for her to just open up and let someone in. If she did trust them and they hurt her then she knew there was nothing good in the world. “Okay” That was all she needed to say to them for them to understand what that okay meant. It was all about trust now. A promise of trust that they wouldn’t break for her.
Shippou walked over with the tea for them. “Kagome I’m sorry to day this but if you do go to our school you will have to see those two every day and might have class with them. I don’t want you to give up on the school because of that. We will be there to help you.”
Kagome nodded. She didn’t know they would be there and now, she was thinking about the possibilities of what going to that school would do to her. Then again she did have her friends. She just wanted to sleep and not think about it anymore. “I’ll think it over later. Thank you for bringing me home. I think I just need some sleep.”
Shippou’s phone went off and he excused himself to the spare bedroom she had told him about the first time they met. “Hello?” “Hello! Other son of mine that lives rent free at our house.” It was Toga. He has started to call Shippou his other son, in a loving way, for years now. It made him feel special. Just like parents would do. Toga was in a way his father. “heh, Hi Toga is something wrong?” Usually He never calls unless its important. “Oh nothing but my son came in tonight cursing up a storm and said your name and Kouga’s a few times. Is there something I need to know about or can you handle it?” “No its nothing but a small altercation tonight. Don’t worry about it” Shippou could take care of it and he would. “Okay my other son I will see you later have a good night”
Shippou was glad Toga didn’t know about what happened. He might have gone after Inuyasha and Shippou didn’t want that. Not that he didn’t think Inuyasha and his whore of a girlfriend didn’t deserve some kind of punishment, oh no they deserved a lot, but he wanted to be the one to deliver the punishment.
The next best thing to getting revenge was to talk to Sesshoumaru. So the next thing he did was call him and explain what had happened. He knew Sesshoumaru wasn’t going to be happy with the idiot and that made Shippou feel somewhat better.
He walked out of the room just in time to see Kouga put Kagome back down in the chair. “Hey is something wrong?” “No that crazy bit… I mean girl Ayame is at my house again. Everyone is getting upset so I have to go calm things down.” “Okay I will stay with Kagome a little longer then call a taxi before I leave” Kouga nodded and walked over to Kagome to hug her “Good night Princess” Kagome looked up and smiled softly “Good night Kouga” she said as he was walking out the door.
Shippou sat with Kagome a little till she got up. “Kagome is everything okay? Where are you going?” Kagome smiled at him “Yes I just needed to use the bathroom” Shippou was a little embarrassed. He didn’t want to seem like he was controlling her so he just nodded.
As she walked away she sort of forgot about the kind of shoes she was wearing and tripped over her own feet and down she went. “Oh Kagome! Are you okay?” Shippou was by her in a split second. “Yea I am just a klutz” She laughed some but as she tried to stand her right foot was in pain. Shippou picked her up and sat her on the couch. He then went to the kitchen to get some ice. “Kagome do you have a plastic bag?” “Yes they are under the sink” He opened the door to take one and filled it with ice then wrapped it in small hand towel.
He walked back over to her and lifted both legs gently then sat down and had her legs in his lap with the ice on her right foot. She was leaning to her right on the couch in a sitting positing. “You should be more careful” he told her looking at her. Kagome blushed. She knew she was a klutz so this sort of thing didn’t faze her. “Yes I know. Sorry” “Don’t be sorry it was an accident” he told her. “No not about that. About tonight I didn’t expect something like to happen” “Kagome… tonight wasn’t your fault. Inuyasha and his… girlfriend never grew up and they think they are better than everyone. So please don’t be sorry” Kagome smiled at him and closed her eyes
Shippou was glad she was talking again. He started to take off her little shoes gently doing so on her right foot. He lifted the ice bag to see her ankle and lightly rubbed it. “sehhhh!” Kagome winced in pain. “Sorry Kagome I will be careful” It hurt but having this caring feeling made It better.
He was rubbing just above her slightly swollen ankle. It would be better in the morning. He didn’t know why he was doing this but her legs were so soft. It wasn’t something he did but he liked the feeling. By the look on her face so did she. He didn’t realize it but he was going farther up her leg and now was past her knee and leaning a little to her. She made some soft sounds of enjoyment of what he was doing. It made his heart race. He was getting aroused by her soft sounds and the feel of her skin. It was getting too much for him.
‘I shouldn’t be doing this’ *yes you should* ‘what? No this isn’t right’ *of course it’s right. Look at her. She is a fine human female and I can feel some power within her* ‘No she is my friend’ *she could be more. Take her…. TAKE HER!*
Shippou jumped up and walked fast over to the door startling Kagome. “What’s wrong Shippou?” “N-nothing I just remembered that I needed to get home. Sorry I have a few things to do. I’ll see you later Kagome” and just like that he was out the door. Kagome was shocked but he needed to go. He had already done enough for her tonight. Both of them did so she hopped over to the door with her ice bag and locked it. Then she hopped straight into bed.

Sesshoumaru was again pissed just like he was last night. He walked down the stairs from his room to the dining room when he opened the door and saw the whore and his brother. It was only part of the reason that he was upset. Last night he had gotten a phone call from Shippou saying Inuyasha and Kikyou made a fool of themselves at NIV. From what he understood Inuyasha and Kikyou went up to them and insulted a person they were with. ‘Does the moron not think that what his actions do are reflected back on his family?!’ Letting out a long breath he thought ‘probably not’
“Good morning son!” His father beamed with happiness. Sesshoumaru nodded his head to his father then went to sit next to him and started eating. “Sesshoumaru I have good news! The new student we went to see was passed by the board!” Sesshoumaru knew it was going to be passed anyways, so why was his father so excited? “Now you get to go tell her!” Sesshoumaru froze and looked at his father with no emotion “Why must I be the one?” Toga smiled again “Because she will remember you and remember what I talked with you about” Sesshoumaru didn’t say anymore after that. He would have to pick up this girl, go back to his school, get her school uniforms and gym uniform. Show her the school plus her classes and to top it off be her shadow.
“Who’s the new person?” Inuyasha asked. It had been a while for any new student to get into school. Toga looked to his younger son. Inuyasha wasn’t… the perfect son but he was still a young demon and hopefully would grow up soon. “Her name is Kagome Higurashi” Toga exclaimed loudly with a smile.
Inuyasha and Kikyou nearly choked on their food “What why!!?” Inuyasha yelled to his father. “Oh you know her son?” Sesshoumaru was even listening to the fight. Why would his moron of a brother know her? “Duh! Remember when I was a kid Kikyou and I would play with a little girl in the park?!” “Inuyasha doesn’t yell and yes I remember. Is that the same girl?” “Yea! But we found out she was homeless so we stopped playing with her”
Toga wasn’t smiling anymore. “Inuyasha, just because she was homeless doesn’t make it right for you both to be rude to her.” Toga was upset at his son. He though he raised him better “You are the one that always says to not associate yourself with dirty people. She was and still is TRASH!!” Inuyasha screamed at his father
Slam!! Toga had his son by the throat up against the wall. “Inuyasha I thought you are a lot smarter than that. I meant don’t trust or associate yourself with sly people.” He let his son go and walked away to calm down. He needed to cool off before he really hurt his son and possibly that girl of his.
He already knew of the girl from years ago. She had run into him quite literally and he could see the look in her eyes of being scared and lost. She looked like she needed a hug and to be rescued from the nightmares of the streets. He also noticed the small amount of power from her and he wanted to help her even more. He couldn’t just take in a girl from the streets. It would look odd for him to do so but he could look after her in secret ways. Which he did and even to this day and till the end he would.
Sesshoumaru stood up and looked at the hopeless whelp smirking as he left to get the girl. So it seemed the new kid was homeless. ‘She was in school and didn’t look dirty so she must have gotten help of some kind.’ He thought to himself.
Kikyou ran over to help him up. She had never seen Toga mad before and it was really terrifying to see. “ouch wench! Don’t pull on me” Kikyou huffed and let Inuyasha get up on his own. ‘Looks like this school year will be interesting’ she thought as Inuyasha took her hand and headed for the car.

Kagome walked the halls of her school as if she was a zombie. She didn’t get a lot of sleep that night with all the things running in her mind. The only thing that made her happy was thinking she had two new friends and that she was applying into a prestigious school. With that she thought about the two people that would ruin that. ’Sigh can’t it just be a little easy?’ Should she let two hateful people ruin the school for her? She knew the answer was no but it was still she wanted that parent comfort with her at that moment.
“Kagome…” She turned around and saw Houjou standing there. “Oh hi Houjou.” He looked at her questionably “Hi… I have been calling your name for a while” He was annoyed that she ignored him for so long. “Sorry I didn’t get a good night’s rest” She looked out the window they were standing next to. “yea I was so pissed that they dismissed me so easy yesterday. What happened with you in the meeting?” She was about to answer him when her name was called.
“Higurashi there you are” Mr. Sato called to her from down the hall “We have been looking for you. Where have you been child?” Kagome and Houjou looked to the teacher. With him was standing one of the people from yesterday’s interview. “Kagome this is Mr. Taisho. You remember him from yesterday don’t you?” Kagome look at him shocked that he was back. ‘why would he come back…’ “ah yes sorry I remember. Hello Mr. Taisho.” Kagome was a little flustered as many thoughts went in to her head.
Houjou on the other hand was peeved that he was back. This only meant that Kagome got into that school. ‘Why would they pick her! I am better than her!’ He thought as he turned to walk away without saying anything.
“Miss Higurashi. I have come to inform you that you have been accepted into Ikeda” Sesshoumaru said to the small human. He was waiting for a reply but didn’t get one. She just stood there saying and doing nothing but looking at him. He was less than impressed at this.
Kagome was either dreaming or this was real. ‘I am in? I did it?’ “Higurashi answer Mr. Taisho” she swallowed and tried to come up with words but it wasn’t working. ‘oh crap just say SOMETHING’ she screamed in her head. “OH MY GOD! Are you serious I am in? I-I am so happy!” She started to wiggle a little with excitement and said her sentence in one long breath and Mr. Sato laughed. Sesshoumaru wasn’t amused really but finally she had said something so now they could get out of this place.
“Let us go, we need to get to the school and get your uniforms and papers done” Sesshoumaru turned and walked away without another word. “I’m happy for you Higurashi” Mr. Sato said. She looked at her teacher and smiled “Thank you for helping me.” Mr. Sato smiled to her and she walked away to catch up to Mr. Taisho. ‘I hope she does well at that school’ He thought as he went back to his class room.
Authors note: 7 pages… not bad right? Also you might be wondering why I used Shippou and not Kouga in the “touchy feely” part. The reason is simple. Shippou is a young demon and his demon isn’t as trained as lets say Sesshoumaru or Kouga. So it made more sense to me in that aspect. Thank you to the people that have reviewed this story. I hope I can get some more feedback to help improve my story. Also I know that there might be some spelling errors that I try to correct when I re-read but I don’t catch them all.
