The weekend had been a long one and Kagome was very glad to be back at school, something she thought would have never happened.

The weekend was spent like most usual days were, her and her father had been the Cullen's home, it had become like their second one, or her as her dad liked to put it “Their vacation home.”

Kagome had noticed that Emmett had been awfully jumpy as of late- more so since he had come from her house that one night when they had actually talked without any interruptions.

Kagome frowned as she made her way into the school's hallways, she really hoped that she hadn't insulted Emmett during that time, or maybe he had heard what her father said? She shook her head, no that couldn't be it.

He didn't seem offended - just aloof, nodding along with her own thoughts she continued forward towards her locker, whatever the case may be she would ask him when they had class together.

Her train of thought was cut short however when she ran straight into something hard, which followed with her being pushed backwards from the force and falling towards the ground. Her arm was caught by a hand which then pulled her up, she looked towards the owner of the hand and smiled.

“So Kagome, have you been walking much or did you just want to get closer to me?”

Kagome chuckled and lightly 'smacked' him in the chest, “Shut Up Emmett, I just wasn't paying attention- you know, lost in Kagome land.”

Emmett laughed loudly, “Yeah, I suppose Kagome land would have a lot of space to get lost in” He responded, winking at her as he finished his sentence.

Kagome snorted and then started walking towards her locker, seeing that Emmett was following she responded. “Sure, But I'm also sure that it doesn't have as much space as Emmett land.”

“I think they both have the same amount of vacant space.” Came a new voice.

Both Emmett and Kagome turned to look at whom the voice belonged to, Edward. Glaring at him Kagome rolled her eyes and turned back to her locker to return back to her original task. Ignoring as the brothers engaged in their normal morning banter, All she knew was that she was very glad that Emmett was at least acting semi normal.

She jumped at the sudden noise when the bell went off, its echoing through the hallway didn't help much, she heard the others laughing at turned to glare at them.

She huffed when her glare took no effect, “Fine, lets go to our class before we are late.” She muttered while starting off towards where her classroom was located, She heard Emmett say goodbye to his family before following after her.

“You know Kagome- I'm really starting to think 'Kagome land' is a very dangerous place, especially if it starts effecting you in reality.” Emmett said, when he had finally caught up with her.

Kagome snorted but said nothing as she pulled open the door to the classroom and went to take her seat, thankful that class hadn't actually started yet.

It was now half an hour into the class and Kagome was really starting to despise it, honestly- it seemed like no matter where she was, or how the numbers where arranged it never made sense to her.

She growled as the numbers blurred together, she furiously erased the work she had done on her work sheet before her, she really, really despised mathematics. The adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying just all of it- it was rather troublesome.

“Psst- Ka-go-me!” Came a whisper behind her, no it wasn't a whisper more like quiet shout.

She sighed as a few classmates turned towards her, and the 'man' behind her. 'Yeah Emmett' She thought That sure is stealthy.

“What?” She whispered, knowing very well that the man behind her could hear her as though she had yelled it.

“Do you want to go to the movies after school?” He questioned back, this time in an actual whisper.

Movies? She thought, before nodding. “Sure, I have nothing to do, are we going to take my car?”

“Yeah” he replied.

“Mr. Cullen, Ms. Higurashi do you have something you'd like to share with the class?” The teacher questioned.

“Nothing that everyone in this class doesn't already know”Emmett replied.

The teacher rose a brow in question, “Oh? And what would that be?”

“Just that your the best teacher for this subject, sir.” he replied in an honest voice.

The teacher looked both them over before nodding and continuing with his lecture.

Kagome mentally giggled, nice save, Emmett- nice save. She thought before returning her attention back towards the paper and problems before her.

Emmett

Emmett looked at the person seating in front of him, he really wanted to talk to her more. Though he thought, I can just talk to her later tonight, when we go to the movies.

Looking at the worksheet in front of him, he sighed- he already had it finished and the class wasn't even over yet.

Soon he became lost in thought, remembering what Carlisle had wanted to talk to him about the night that he had gotten back from Kagome's home.

Flashback

As Emmett entered his home that he shared with his family he looked around cautiously, it wasn't ever this quiet. Well not unless something serious was going on, he frowned at the thought-- has Bella gotten herself into some kind of trouble again?

“Carlisle?” He called out gently, as though disturbing the quiet atmosphere would create an uproar in the house.

“Upstairs,” Was the reply of his 'father'. Upstairs usually meant his study, taking off his shoes-so he wouldn't track dirt into the house.

Emmett made his way up the stairs and into the Carlisle's office, where he saw the man was reading something off of the computer.

Seeing him come in Carlisle motioned for him to sit in the seat in front of desk, Emmett suddenly felt as though he was going to get scolded.

Sighing he sat down in the seat offered and 'patiently' waited for Carlisle to finish reading whatever he had been.

A few moments later Carlisle turned his attention away from his computer and towards his son.

“So, how was Kagome's?” he questioned.

Emmet looked confused for a moment before answering, “ It was alright, she interesting to talk to”

Carlisle nodded, “Thats always good.”

Emmett chuckled, “Yes- but I'm sure thats not all you wanted to talk to me about.”

Carlisle offered his son a soft smile, “That's right.”

Emmett rose an eyebrow, questioning. “What is it?” He asked, as he noticed his father had taken an worried expression.

“I got a call tonight, a few hours ago.”Carlisle replied.

“Oh? What about?” Emmett questioned.

“Well--”

End Flashback

Emmett's thoughts were interrupted as the bell rang, he looked up and noticed Kagome looking at him as though he had grown an extra head.

“What?” he questioned.

She shook her head, and laughing lightly. “Nothing- I was just wondering if you plan on going to your next class? I mean, unless you like the teacher that much that is?”

Emmett chuckled, before getting up and grabbing his bag. “Sure, Sure lets go!” he exclaimed.

Getting up her started towards the door, and to his next class.

Kagome

Kagome bid Emmett goodbye, before going to her next class.

The rest of the school day went by rather quickly and soon she found herself walking to her car Alice in tow. When they reached it she noticed Emmett standing next to her car, Alice winked towards Kagome. “Have fun!”

“You already know we will” Kagome replied.

Alice just shook her head and chuckled in response.

Getting inside of her car Kagome waited for Emmett to get in, before they started towards the town's small movie theater.

The two of them had decided on an horror movie, since it just sounded like one of the best things playing at the moment.

“So where do you want to sit?” Emmett questioned.

Kagome looked around the almost empty theater before shrugging her shoulders, “Why not at the back?”

Emmett nodded and started his way towards the seat, Kagome following behind him.

Thirty minutes into the movie Emmett leaned towards Kagome, “Why do they always make whispering scary?” he questioned.

Kagome shrugged. “I dunno- but I always did know that kindergarten was a scary place all of the little kids whispering to one another.”

Emmett chuckled , then both went back to watching the 'horror' movie.

The two left the movie theater laughing with one another.

“Man, that was more like a comedy then an horror, I was more afraid of Barney then that.”

Emmett said, while they made their way towards Kagome's car.

Kagome laughed, “Emmett weren't you already an 'adult' by time that came out?”

Emmett stopped laughing, his face serious. “Yes, and it still scared me.”

Kagome laughed before starting the car, and going towards Emmett's house.

“So I'm sure my dad is at your house again, I'll get him while dropping you off.” She spoke.

Emmett nodded, “Sounds good.”

Soon the two of them had reached the house, and made their way inside.

Hearing voices coming from the living room they started towards there. When they reached the room however, Emmett's body stiffened.

Kagome reached for his arm in concern, and followed his line of sight.

“Hello Emmett”

Emmett's jaw clenched, he had known she was going to be here- but why was he still acting like this?

“Hello Rosalie.” He replied.
