Tears to the End
A/N: Holy shit! Another story done! I figured it was time that I brought this one to an end. Sorry for the short ending. I just can’t think right at this moment. But here you go the last chapter of A Night to Remember. Review and tell me what you think ^-^
Chapter six: Tears to the End
Sesshomaru stood at the top of the stairs, his eyes wide in shock. He couldn’t smell her. He couldn’t tell if she was alive or not. And he couldn’t tell if the blood all over the walls was Kagome’s or not.
“Kagome!” He screamed. Sesshomaru didn’t care if his mask was broken. He has to make sure that she was still alive. He swore to her that he would protect her, save her from the other youkai.
“Kagome!” He screamed again.
“I told you she wasn’t alive anymore.” Tai chuckled. “Tell me oh Fallen Prince. How does it feel to have everything ripped away from you?”
Sesshomaru turned quickly, his hand at the man’s throat. “I will kill you for this.” He growled, his eyes bleeding red. “Your walls will be painted red with your own blood. Your death will not be quick and painless. I plan to keep you alive for a long time Tai. Your only wish would be for death to come quicker.”
Tai smirked. “Its all worth it Sesshomaru.” He gasped, his air slowly being cut from him. “This is divine revenge for what you did to my mate.”
His eyes narrowed. “Revenge?”
“You took the life of my mate many, many years ago. She was just a passing youkai who just commented on how low you had fallen ever sense you took that Hanyou into your family. Without a thought you removed her head from her body. Who do you think convinced the humans to attack your castle? Who do you think convinced them to take your ward and rape her then kill her? When that half breed brother of yours jumped in the way to try and stop you was just a perk that happened. I burned your castle, took your lands from you. Then this miko came into your life. It was perfect. Take the one that you planed on taking as a mate. I took her from you just like you did to me.”
Sesshomaru cried out and threw Tai against the wall, his fingers tightening around the man’s neck. “I will kill you!” He screamed his eyes completely red. He could feel his beast wanting to rip out and tear Tai apart.
Tai smirked at him. “So much for the almighty Sesshomaru.” He purred. “You lost everything you ever had. All because of two human girls. Whatever happened to you hating all humans?”
“Silence!” Sesshomaru screamed again, his hand positioned for the kill. Before he knew it, his eyes widened once more as pain came from his stomach. His blood red eyes slowly went back to its golden as he looked down to see the youkai’s arm red with his own blood. He couldn’t see the hand, but he was sure it was sticking out from his back.
“You’re so weak Sesshomaru.” Tai purred once more as he removed his arm from Sesshomaru’s body, watching the once proud Taiyoukai fall to his knees. “Even your father wasn’t this weak. Sure he died by human hands, but at least he was weakened by the dragon.” Tai licked the blood off his arm, his smirk growing wider. “Maybe you should pray for me to kill you quickly!” He held up his arm, readying for the killing blow.
Sesshomaru kneeled on the ground, his eyes still wide in shock. Had he really become that weak? First he lost Rin, a woman who was like his very daughter. Then Kagome, a woman who was his equal. The only one who could talk to him with disrespect and still live. He loved the arguments they had. When she was in danger in the past, he saved her. Maybe not as much as his brother did, but he did when Inuyasha could not. He called Inuyasha weak, but honestly, was he just as weak? Just because of two human girls, did he fall so much?
“Sesshomaru! Get your ass up!”
Sesshomaru blinked, his head jerking up. Did he hear her voice? Was Kagome yelling at him from the other side?
Tai screamed out in pain as he held a stub of an arm. Blood trickled down the remains of his arm, his once hand nothing more then ash on the wall with an arrow sticking between it.
Sesshomaru turned quickly in shock. There was Kagome, a little bloodied, but alright. In her hand were a bow, and another arrow in the other. She glared at him with much anger.
“Why are you staring at me?” She snapped. “Get him!”
The silver haired demon gave a small smirk and turned to Tai. “You heard the lady.”
“How?!” Tai screamed at her. “How are you here? My beast should have killed you!”
Kagome smirked. “You honestly think the blood on the walls was mine? Come on Tai. I’m a miko. I purified his ass and he just happened to explode. When you came back, all I had to do was hide. Thanks to your beast though, I broke though those chains. Gotta thank you for that one.”
Tai growled at her, his look murderous.
Sesshomaru smirked and held up his poisonous claw once more. “I believe your time has ended. Tell that bitch of yours that this Sesshomaru says hi.” With that he pierced the man’s chest, allowing his acid to turn him into nothing more then a pile of ash.
Kagome sighed and dropped the bow. “Man I really didn’t think I was going to make that one. Are you alright Sesshomaru?” She blinked in surprise as the Taiyoukai grabbed her and held Kagome close to his bloodied chest. “Um… Sesshomaru? You’re still bleeding…”
“Are you alright?” He whispered softly in her ear. “Did he hurt you?”
The miko blushed a little. “Well, he tore my clothes and beat me a little, but besides that I’m fine. What about you? That hole looks painful.”
Sesshomaru shook his head. “This Sesshomaru will live.” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, savoring her scent. He was so scared he lost here. There she was though. Kagome was there, alive, and fine. She had saved him from his tormenter, and now she was safely in his arms.
“What have you done to me woman.” He muttered in her hair. “How could a human like you tear past my walls? How could someone like you actually terrify me? What spell have you placed on me?”
Kagome smiled softly and finally returned the hug. “That’s because you’ve fallen in love with me Sesshomaru.” She chuckled. “Come on, it’s getting hard to breathe with you crushing my ribs like this. Let’s go home alright?”
He let her go reluctantly. “Home sounds nice.” Tilting Kagome’s chin, he pressed his lips against hers. “Do not expect me to let you go after that though Kagome.” He whispered against her lips. “I don’t ever plan on letting you go.”
She smiled at his words. “Good. I don’t ever plan on letting you go either.”
