For a moment after the kill Sesshoumaru felt good, but then as usual it went away. Nothing ever lasted too long and the noises were getting to him. It was time to head back. Why was Inuyasha so insistent on going out in this world with all these noises and pollution? It stunk and the humans were constantly making noise.

Inuyasha would have his human woman for a while and Sesshoumaru was to have a nephew. He should be happy, but this would be another child ridiculed because he was different. He would not be accepted by humans or demons. Inuyasha and Kagome couldn’t raise such a child on their own. He would be personally involved and that made Sesshoumaru a bit tense. Was it not hard enough to lose Rin let alone his own flesh and blood in an early demise?

Sesshoumaru blinded by his own sorrow at this thought flew into the sky where no one could witness him as he raced across the world he knew until it became nothing more than a small dot from the distance he was in the clouds. Sesshoumaru was traveling neither speeds that no mere mortal could detect nor fathom he landed in a strange place that he did not ever intend to land. It was a land full of more people then he could imagine speaking languages he had only heard in the courts. He had not used such languages for so long he wasn’t certain he was deciphering them properly. He would recall this place again later. His brother and sister in law were not going to disrupt his home while he was away.

Children in Sesshoumaru’s home were far and few in between since his life was solitary most of the time. Inuyasha was the only child that was at his home on a regular basis.
Shippo was being raised by Sango and Miroku thank the heavens since they were at least mature enough to understand children not act like them. Still Shippo was raised by the schools that Sesshoumaru had set up so that his demon heritage would not be destroyed unlike Inuyasha who was a modern day electronics junkie. Inuyasha forgot all of the traditions, culture, and history that made them who they were. He would be reminded once again.

The limo had finally arrived at his home and Sesshoumaru went out to greet his family.

“You have arrived I see.”

Kagome got out of the car and Inuyasha just ignored his brother’s rude welcome.

“Yes, always joy and rapture for you to see us I know Sesshoumaru, but could you at least try to be pleasant?”

Kagome stated looking annoyed with her brother in law. Sesshoumaru was always blunt and annoyed it seemed every time she visited.

“I will try.”

Sesshoumaru stated dryly as he walked into the building.

Inuyasha held his wife back who was fuming ready to give the demon Lord a piece of her mind.

“Don’t piss him off again today Kagome. They didn’t have any sunflowers for Rin’s grave and that was bad enough.”

Kagome breathed in trying hard to remember to be polite.

“Why does he always act that way?”

Inuyasha smiled.

“That is just Sesshoumaru.”

Taking Kagome’s hand they walked into the castle as the servants showed them their rooms. Sesshoumaru was not happy with having Inuyasha’s wench at his home, but he was not going to say anything more today about it. Inuyasha was at fault for this and the woman irritated him.

Kagome was just as bad as Inuyasha with a mouth to match and her high pitched squeals had pushed him to the edge. She tried to order him around and called him an idiot. He didn’t forget those things. She was lucky she still had her head.

“I assume your room is to your liking.”

Sesshoumaru stated softly trying not to watch Kagome eat. He could not even stomach watching Rin eat and had to eat some of her human cooking. He would eat the fish raw and after a while they got used to each other. Watching Kagome would just remind him of his Rin. It was too hard.

“It is thank you.”

Kagome stated punching Inuyasha in the leg for not answering.

“Ouch you bitch! What did you do that for?”

Sesshoumaru tried not to laugh. It was amusing when these two were together.

“You should thank your brother for the room you jerk.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes.

“It is just Sesshoumaru. Not like it is unusual for us to be staying here. I guess you want me to thank him every fucking time we come?”

Kagome fumed.

“That is the polite thing to do Inuyasha and if you had your damn beads on right now I would sit you!”

Sesshoumaru’s mouth twitched a bit and he kind of wished he wouldn’t have destroyed the beads now. It was kind of funny to watch his brother be flung to the ground for being rude.

“Excuse me, I am done. If you need anything more please let the servants know. Inuyasha you will meet me in the study later this evening.”

Sesshoumaru gracefully got up from the table and left the two young people to themselves.

“I always feel underdressed and like a slob around your brother. Are you sure he isn’t gay?”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes and laughed.

“Of course he isn’t. I just like to give him hell about it. He is rather graceful for a man don’t you think?”

Sesshoumaru’s voice could be heard and it didn’t sound happy.

“Inuyasha I heard that! Your dinner is done!”

Inuyasha jumped at the roar coming from the hallway. Kagome did a bit too.

“Damn jerk can hear for miles. Got to go honey, I will see you in the bedroom.”

Inuyasha wiggled his eyebrows at his wife as Kagome blushed.

“Not in front of his servants.”

Kagome stated getting up.

“You are frigid.”

Inuyasha stated pouting.

“For that you can go sleep with your graceful brother you jerk!”

Kagome stated as she stomped out of the dining room into the hallway to the room that Sesshoumaru always had her in and slammed the door.

Inuyasha knew he wasn’t getting any tonight. Didn’t matter, he was going to be up all night with Lord of the Fluff.

Inuyasha walked into the study only to see his brother reading a book by a fireplace. He looked older with the reading glasses he had perched on his nose like a sophisticated scholar. His long silver hair flowed to the floor and his tail was curled around the chair like a long white anaconda.

“What did you want?”

Sesshoumaru without looking up from his book answered his brother.

“As usual Inuyasha you have no tact nor do you have any sense of hospitality. You have no humility and you do not respect my generosity towards you. All I ask is that you keep your wench from talking to me. I have been insulted by her many times and I do not like her. How many times must I tell you this? Tomorrow she will remain here while we venture out. That is all.”

Inuyasha frowned at Sesshoumaru.

“You asked me in here just for that?”

Sesshoumaru smiled slightly.

“Yes.”

Inuyasha then roared.

“You made me get in trouble with my wife for this shit! I ain’t getting any tonight because of you! I can’t believe this shit!”

Sesshoumaru chuckled a bit.

“Inuyasha, you have no sense of humor. Of course I didn’t just ask you in here for that. I would not have wasted my time.”

Inuyasha clenched his fists. This wasn’t funny, but Sesshoumaru was laughing at him.

“Are you really this fucking bored that you have to torment my whole life too?”

Sesshoumaru looked up.

“Yes. I am.”

Inuyasha didn’t know how to respond to that. It was too honest. It wasn’t like Sesshoumaru who like Miroku would put riddles into words that made no sense to him.

“You need to get a life Sesshoumaru.”

Sesshoumaru sighed and motioned for Inuyasha to sit.

“Look, you must show respect to Rin’s grave. You know that, but this is not the only reason you are here. If that were so I would have just destroyed your vehicle or something else you love. You know that so this is what I want from you.”

Throwing the book at Inuyasha he caught it and looked at the cover.

“You want me to read this?”

Sesshoumaru once again rolled his eyes. Inuyasha was so dense sometimes.

“The cover is of languages we had learned in the past or did you forget that too?”

Inuyasha sighed.

“Do I have to remember that? I mean wasn’t it bad enough you made me learn to write too?”

Sesshoumaru ran his hand over his hair and leaned back in his chair.

“You learn only by experience Inuyasha. You do not know how to treasure these things I teach you. You destroy them. I believe in learning and growing where you believe in mauling everything you touch. I cannot live like that. I destroy, but I also appreciate beauty. You do not see it even when it is in front of you. I want to go somewhere and you are going with me. Only you since I do not wish for many people to know of this. We will play human. How do you feel about showing me the way since I have no idea how to be one? I don’t really want to be, but I have nothing better to do.”

Inuyasha started laughing. Then he frowned when Sesshoumaru didn’t join in.

“You are fucking serious aren’t you?”

Sesshoumaru looked up at the ceiling and sighed.

“Yes I am.”

Inuyasha had to ask the first intelligent question Sesshoumaru had heard in a long time.

“Why would you who are Mr. Perfect Demon Lord who hates all humans want to ever pretend to be one of them?”

Sesshoumaru was a bit shocked only because Inuyasha usually just went along with things and rarely asked intelligent questions. He was always more a boy who acted rather than used his head.

“I am impressed Inuyasha. You are correct. I do not like playing human, but I did not claim to hate them. I just had no use for them other then servants and even then I did not have much time to bother with them. I had Rin though who I cared for or did you forget that too?”

Inuyasha leaned forward.

“That doesn’t explain anything.”

Sesshoumaru smiled.

“You are getting better Inuyasha. I must say your education has not been a complete waste. I wish to know so I can understand why you love them and why Father loved them. I know why I loved Rin, but her life was too short to fully understand them. You are a half demon so you do not know what it is like to be a full human all the time. I wish to know.”

Inuyasha slumped back in his chair.

“Some of them are weak and they are also strong so it depends on what kind of human you want to be I guess.”

Sesshoumaru looked slightly intrigued.

“So on your human night that we rarely talk about what is it like for you?”

Inuyasha had not ever been asked by Sesshoumaru these kinds of things.

“I feel afraid and alone. I can defend myself a bit, but I hide during that time most of the time. Still do even with Naraku gone. My emotions are a mess too. No control of them.”

Sesshoumaru smiled a bit.

“So it is not much different then now except for the hiding. So it should not be difficult. I just need to be crude like you are.”

Inuyasha frowned.

“No, don’t be like me. You will get arrested or something. You would kill someone for their insults of you. Just be as you are now just don’t look all demon with your markings and you will have to change your hair. It sticks out in the human world. You would be noticed as unusual. They might think you are some kind of gothic freak.”

Sesshoumaru frowned.

“What is this gothic freak? I do not understand that term.”

Inuyasha sighed knowing he put his foot in his mouth again.

“A vampire………”

Sesshoumaru stood up in fury.

“I am nothing like a walking dead human! How dare they insinuate such a thing!”

Cracking his knuckles Sesshoumaru felt like strangling anyone who would dare call him a vampire.

“That is what I mean Sesshoumaru. You can’t go around trying to kill people. They don’t allow that out here. You will end up killing both good and bad people with your temperament. You have to be less judgmental so I guess you can’t be yourself either. It is complicated.”

Sesshoumaru sat back down.

“Complicated how?”

Inuyasha sighed. How could he explain his life to a man who never wanted to know it before?

“Sesshoumaru you don’t know what you are getting yourself into. You should probably not do this.”

Sesshoumaru sighed. He had to do something other than watch everything die. Unfortunately Inuyasha was right. He could not hide forever from this world even if it annoyed him.

“I am taking your advice little brother so explain.”

Inuyasha’s mouth dropped. He was taking his advice? Was he serious because Inuyasha hadn’t been? It was a running joke right?

“No, I was just kidding. You should just stay here and not go out. It would be bad for you and them.”

Sesshoumaru looked at Inuyasha annoyed.

“Do you think I am incapable of fitting in? Do you think I am unable like you to learn something new? If you are only going to try to dissuade me then you may leave tomorrow after visiting Rin’s grave and then I shall go alone.”

If Inuyasha’s eyes could bug out of his head they would have right then. Sesshoumaru, in the human world on his own was not a good thing. It was asking for a giant hole in the planet filled with acid. It was like asking hell to come forth and all of it in the palm of his big brother’s powerful claws. Sesshoumaru unleashed on unsuspecting ignorant humans was a nightmare.

“No you can’t do this alone not because you are incapable. It is because I have to protect the world from you.”

Inuyasha stated trying not to imagine the havoc that Sesshoumaru would bring about if one stupid person insulted him.

“I see, you don’t think they can handle my power. That is acceptable.”

Sesshoumaru stated sitting back now in his chair much more relaxed.

“That and your temper Sesshoumaru. Humans are ignorant and they tend to say things that will offend you.”

Sesshoumaru sighed.

“I know this. Go on with something new.”

Inuyasha tried to think of something then it came to him.

“Think of thousands, make that hundreds of thousands of Kagome’s running around.”

Sesshoumaru looked horrified.

“Is it really that bad out there?”

Inuyasha nodded.

“Yes it is. See maybe you shouldn’t go out and do this.”

Sesshoumaru swallowed hard and then put a determined face on.

“No, I have to do this. I can do this.”

Inuyasha knew that there was no way he was going to talk Sesshoumaru out of this now.

Looking at the globe in the study Sesshoumaru pointed to the place he had visited.

“I want to go there.”

Inuyasha’s face went white. No way could they go there. It was even worse than taking him places in Japan. It would be like trying to keep him from starting a war.

“You don’t want to go there. Seriously, it is a mess. There are so many other great places you could go. Like this place.”

Sesshoumaru looked at the North Pole.

“No people live there.”

Inuyasha smiled widely.

“But Sesshoumaru, you haven’t ever been there so how do you know?”

Sesshoumaru looked sternly at Inuyasha.

“You are not talking me out of this. We are going here.”

Inuyasha moaned.

“You will hate it. It is louder then here and stinky. There are billions of Kagome’s there.”

Sesshoumaru swallowed hard again.

“I can handle it.”

Inuyasha shook his head. This was not a good idea. This was a terrible horrible idea.

“Sesshoumaru you can’t handle this place. I promise you that I had a hard time handling this place and you know me.”

Sesshoumaru looked at Inuyasha.

“I am going to go there with or without you.”

Inuyasha knew he wasn’t going to win.

“But…………there are so many better places like the South Pole.”

Sesshoumaru walked away from the globe.

“We are going to that United States place on the globe. That is where I was and that is where the courts are. I heard them.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes.

“Because you heard all those languages, but it isn’t what you are thinking.”

Sesshoumaru walked out of the study to his room. They had been up all night discussing things and he was ready to go.

“Pack your things Inuyasha. I am going to call for the car and send Kagome home. Explain or I will.”

Inuyasha frowned.

“I can’t go into her room. I am grounded.”

Sesshoumaru walked past Inuyasha.

“No don’t go in there! Are you trying to get me in trouble?”

Inuyasha rushed blocking the door.

“Move or tell her! Now!”

Kagome opened the door half awake.

“Can’t you two be quiet? You kept me up all night long with your arguing. Our child is going to be a caffeine addict at two years old if you can’t be silent while I am pregnant.”

Sesshoumaru looked at Kagome and then at Inuyasha.

“I have to go with Sesshoumaru or he will beat me up.”

Inuyasha stated. Kagome looked at Inuyasha.

“You used that excuse last time Inuyasha, what are you two up to?”

Sesshoumaru tired of waiting looked at Kagome.

“Inuyasha is going to the United States with me now. I will have the car drive you back home or to Miroku’s place. It is your choice.”

With that Sesshoumaru turned and walked away leaving Inuyasha standing next to his fuming wife.

“You are not going to go with him! We are leaving!”

Kagome roared.

“Don’t piss him off please? I haven’t gotten any sleep tonight and he is threatening to go to America and try to play human. Do you know what will happen if I let him go alone? You don’t want a bunch of people dead do you?”

Inuyasha whimpered to Kagome.

“Is he out of his mind?”

Kagome stated shrilly as she went to go give Sesshoumaru a piece of her mind while Inuyasha held her back.

“Don’t do this he won’t budge on this Kagome. Let me do this. He will hate it and come home quickly. You will see. I promise I will call you and tell you everything.”

Inuyasha pleaded this time on his knees. Kagome held her husband feeling sorry for him a bit and knowing if he didn’t go what might happen.

“Fine, but Inuyasha if you come back with him I want you to know that he is not invited to the Christmas Party this year. Not that he ever comes anyway!”

Kagome roared as she slammed the door and Inuyasha sighed. Right now he really hated his life.
