Afterwards

A/N: This is the final chapter. I feel somewhat dissapointed that this is the last chapter. Oh well. As the Epilogue, it's the shortest. Perhaps I should have made it longer? Anyway, I'd like to take the time to thank all of you who've read and reviewed as well as voted. I couldn't have continued this story without your interest.

Epilogue

Inuyasha sat on the top of his hut, looking up at the peaceful blue sky, only lightly covered with clouds. Shippou had gone out to play with some of his friends that were his own age, instead of playing with his siblings. As soon as the other children had been born, Shippou had started calling them mom and dad. He snickered at how weird it was to get used to. Took him a month before he got the hang of it. That was nearly five years ago.
In the background he heard a chorus of voices yelling ‘daddy’ and ‘Daaaaaad!’ Oh, Inuyasha thought that he could get away with staying on the roof, out of sight, but his children had better noses than that.

“Daddy! Mommy says you have to come down and play with us!” came a young child’s’ voice.
“Yeah!” Another was heard.
“Oh really,” Inuyasha asked, leaning over the roof end to look at his children.

The first had black, short hair like his mother had, and black dog-ears to match. He smiled mischievously up at his father, his hands behind his back. His mother swore that he had his father’s playful side though he still had her eyes. The second had his silver hair. Kagome had been rather disappointed when she had found out that her second son had no dog-ears to play with --like his brother had-- only regular human ears. But all had been forgiven when she had felt his tail swish behind him. His tail, also the same color as his hair, was the complement to his light blue eyes. Why was it that both his boys had their mother’s eyes?

“Sora…” Inuyasha said, looking back towards his oldest son. “What do you have behind your back?” He asked. Sora, his oldest looked towards his brother his ears twitching, before looking back to his father.
“Nothing…” He responded, brining his hands out to show his father.
“Hmm…so Takeshi, you don’t have anything to hid then either?” Inuyasha asked, looking towards his youngest son, noticing the rapid swishing of his tail.
“Nuh-uh. My hands are clean!” He yelped when his older brother swatted him one.
“Don’t mess it up Take!” Sora whispered to his brother.
“Mess what up?” Inuyasha asked cautiously…”Hey wait…where’s—“ was all he got out before a mud ball hit him square in the forehead.

“Yes!” was heard from behind a bush, while his sons couldn’t stop laughing.
“We got you daddy!” Both Sora and Takeshi exclaimed, still laughing hard at the fact their father had fallen for the trick. Inuyasha wiped the mud from his forehead, looking towards the bush.
“So that’s where you’d gotten to” Inuyasha called out. Timidly, his daughter stepped out from behind the bush. She had black hair, like Sora, but her dog-ears were the color of Takeshi’s hair. Her silver and black tipped tail came swishing up to her hand, where she held it under her nose, trying to look cute and innocent. Her golden eyes said ‘I’m guilty but mommy takes my side all the time. You can’t do anything about it.’ …if that was possible, even with demon blood in her.

“You’re the youngest. Yet you’re always the ring leader, huh?” Inuyasha asked, leaping from his spot on the roof. “You’re anything but what you’re name means Naoko” Inuyasha shook his head.
“Who say’s she’s not?” Came his wife’s voice from the front door. Naoko, Sora, and Takeshi all ran to their mothers’ side.
“She had her brothers be a diversion while she waited to the opportune moment…” Inuyasha said, making faces at his children.
“And that makes her disobedient, how?” Kagome asked, Kneeling down to her three children and passing them something Inuyasha couldn’t see.
“She’s more like a fox than a dog demon!” Inuyasha replied a smile upon his face. “Shippou’s worn off on her.”
“Shippou, huh?” Kagome smirked, and that was when he realized what he should have when she first walked out.
“Uh-oh…” The three children looked up at their mother who nodded, and with Inuyasha backing up, nodded.
“MUD FIGHT!” the triplets and their mother exclaimed, throwing their gooey balls of mud at the only half demon around.

A/N 2: I'm thinking about writing another story soon. I was wondering if anyone would like to give me any ideas or requests for stories?
