A Fallen Angel

Just a note, I went back and basically redid the entire ending to the last chapter. So if you're interested you can go back and re read the end of the battle to the end of the chapter.

Another thing, I noticed that my average vote is low, but no one is reviewing (Except the wonderful and amazing DeeDee92 Thanks for your support and I'm glad you're liking the story) Anyways, if you don't like something about the story then please leave a review (or flame) and tell me what you're thinking. After all, I cant become a better writer without some criticism right?

Kouga woke with the sun and opened his eyes, expecting Azarruya to be beside him. Instead he finds an empty spot on her bedroll and a bowl of breakfast waiting for him. Quickly, he sits up and looks around. Everyone else was still sleeping, except Inuyasha whose eyes had opened at Kouga's movement.

Kouga looked at Kagome curled up in Inuyasha's arms and for once, didn't feel envious at all.

"Don't you even think about waking Kagome up" Inuyasha whispers in a threatening tone.

"Don't worry mutt-face I wouldn't wake her up when she's obviously so tired. You go back to sleep too, I'm going to go find Azarruya." Kouga stretches and sniffs the air searching for Ruya's scent.

Once he picks up on her scent he races off to find her.

Inuyasha watched the wolf speed off into the woods and pulled Kagome closer to him. He stares lovingly at the miko in his arms and wonders how she could ever love him. **I'm always so rude and mean to her** he thinks to himself **Except times like now** a small voice in his head says. He recognizes the truth in it and shrugs, he always finds that having Kagome next to him as he sleeps makes him calmer. He continues to gaze at her sleeping form, until her eyes flutter open. She looks up at him and smiles that sweet smile she reserves only for him and then tries to roll away so she can stretch. Inuyasha instinctively pulls her tight and doesn't let her move away and Kagome knows what he wants before he'll let her go.

Kagome leans up and kisses Inuyasha lightly on the lips. "Morning" She whispers and kisses him again. She loves it when he's like this, first thing in the morning he's always so subdued and kind. She kisses him again, a little harder than the first and then pulls away so she can stand up and stretch. This time Inuyasha lets her go and she grins in triumph.

As she stretches her arms above her head she feels Inuyasha's arms circle around her waist. She lowers her arms and holds his arms close to her. Inuyasha's chin rests on her shoulder and they watch the sunrise. Kagome giggles as she feels Inuyasha's tounge and teeth on her neck.

"Inuyasha...why don't we continue this at the lake? That way we can bathe and we won't wake Miroku and Sango" Kagome glances at her two friends who resolutely sleep a solid five feet from each other every night despite their attraction to each other.

"Can't" he growls as he bites her neck again "Kouga and Azarruya are there already."

"What! Why didn't you tell me that sooner?" Kagome admonishes then smiles, "It's about time that Kouga found someone."

"Yeah, its about time the cub left you alone," Inuyasha stops nibbling on her neck and stares into the sunrise thoughtfully, "Kagome...I guess it would be pointless to ask you to return to your own time until this thing with Chaos and Naraku is over isn't it?"

"Damn right it would be pointless. But why are you so worried? Naraku may have Chaos, but now we have a Sailor Scout on our side." Kagome leans into him as she speaks.

"I just don't know if she's powerful enough. Plus Naraku has lost all scent, thats why Kouga and I didn't smell him coming. It scares me not knowing when he's coming," Inuyasha shudders as he thinks of what would have happened had Azarruya not been on her guard.

"Now you mention it, I couldn't sense the jewel shards either. I wonder how Azarruya knew that they were coming. *Thoughful pause* Anyways, I know she's powerful Inuyasha. I can just feel it radiating from her. She keeps her power hidden within, just like when I had the Sacred Jewel inside me. Her story is so sad, I couldn't imagine losing everyone that I care about like that." Kagome whispers sadly.

"I just can't believe she was betrayed. Who would do that to someone they loved? She fights like no one I've ever seen, but she uses her rage to fight and sooner or later that will burn out. Let's hope she fights this well then." Inuyasha murmurs before picking Kagome up bridal-style.

Kagome squeeled "Inuyasha! What are you doing?"

Inuyasha smirks as he takes off with her still in his arms, "I think we should go for a run in the woods just the two of us."

Kagome grins to herself, "Well at least he was calm for about 30 minutes."
