Chapter 6

Twelve years later

The years had just flown by, Saisho was twenty three and Rihashi was seventeen, Rin still looked as if she was only nineteen since she now had internal youth. Over the last twelve years Saisho and Rihashi haven’t been the best of brothers. Rin tried her hardest over the years but the two boys where just to stubborn like their father. Sesshomaru had come up with an idea which he decided to discuss that with Rin.

“That is a perfect idea my I cant believe I have never thought of it” Rin said after hearing Sesshomaru’s big idea. Rin went and got Saisho and Rihashi to come and sit in the lounge room because their father had something to say.

Sesshomaru and Rin sat on one lounge why the two brothers sat on the one opposite them of course they sat closer to the edge so they weren’t near each other. “You wanted to speak to us father” Saisho said, Sesshomaru nodded. “As you two haven’t been getting along I have decided that you will go on a trip around the lands for a whole week, together” Sesshomaru told them. “WHAT, NOT WITH HIM” they both yelled and pointed at each other “father please be reasonable this idiot doesn’t even know how to find fire wood” Saisho said, “hey I can to” Rihashi protested.

“There is no way in hell that I am going to spend even a night with this bone head” Rihashi then said. “You two will be leaving tomorrow at dawn so go to bed” and Sesshomaru walked out of the room. “Don’t worry boys it will be fun” Rin said and also left the room leaving the two siblings alone.

“Great now I have to baby sit for a whole entire week, yay for me:” Saisho said with a bit of sarcasm in his voice. He sat back down onto the couch and rubbed his temples “great I think I’m getting a headache” he said to himself. “Yeah well don’t think I like it any more than you do” and Rihashi walked out.

Dawn came and Saisho and Rihashi said their goodbyes and headed out on their week journey. Rin told them both to have fun but that defiantly wasn’t going to happen any time soon. They had been walking for three hours when Rihashi stopped in his tracks. Saisho realized his little brother wasn’t following him. “What are you doing” he asked getting annoyed because they stopped “just breathing in the fresh air” Rihashi replied. Saisho just rolled his eyes “idiot” he said in a whisper and started walking again.

Rihashi noticed that Saisho started walking leaving him behind “HEY SAISHO WAIT UP” he yelled out why running. Night soon came and they decided to rest for a while until they would get moving again. “Ah man look at the sky its so beautiful” Rihashi said looking up and the night sky. Rihashi sat on the ground underneath a big old tree why Saisho just leaned against one. “Aren’t you going to sleep” Rihashi asked his elder brother “I don’t sleep” was Saisho’s only reply, “man, whatever” Rihashi replied and then closed his eyes.

Saisho just stood their why Rihashi was asleep making sure their was no danger coming towards them. He looked over at Rihashi ‘what was father thinking’ he thought to himself, he decided to patrol the area for a while. Later in the night Rihashi started to wake up when he noticed his brother wasn’t any where to be seen. “Saisho” he stood up now getting worried “SAISHO” he yelled his brothers name. “Shut up” he heard a voice from behind him, Rihashi turned around and saw Saisho walking towards him. He stopped right next to Rihashi “from now on keep that bratty voice down unless you want to get killed” and he started walking of. “Bratty voice” Rihashi felt rather offended. “Hurry up” he heard his elder brother calling out to him “yeah yeah” and he cached up.

Back at the castle Sesshomaru and Rin where sitting in the lounge room together near the fire. “Sesshomaru do you think they will be alright” she asked him, he just looked at the fire “I’m sure they will” he replied. Rin put her head on his shoulder and slowly closed her eyes, Sesshomaru breathed in her beautiful flower scent. ‘It is about time those two work together’ Sesshomaru thought to himself.

It was morning and Saisho and Rihashi where still walking through the forest “wait” Saisho stopped in his tracks. “Why did you stop” Rihashi asked wondering why they had stopped “RRRRR” and a huge big worm demon came up from the ground. “That’s why” Saisho said pulling his sword out “tell me exactly how your going to beat that thing, its huge” Rihashi said. Saisho turned his face to look at him “all you have to do is stay out of my way” and he ran towards the huge worm. “WHAT HEY I CAN BEAT IT TO” Rihashi then ran towards it also when the worms tail hit him and Rihashi went flying. “Shit” Saisho watched his brother hit the ground, “stupid idiot” he said to himself.

The worm faced Saisho opening his huge mouth full of thousands of sharp teeth “sorry but the restaurants closed today” and Saisho jumped into the air and swung his sword chopping the worms head of. The dead worm fell to the ground with a big thump against the ground, Saisho dropped back to the ground. He saw his younger brother lying on the ground so he walked over to him. Saisho looked down “what” Rihashi asked probably knowing what was coming anyway, “I told you to stay out of the way next time listen to what I tell you” and he just walked over Rihashi.

That night Rihashi was sitting near the fire which Saisho had made, he looked up and saw his older brother just standing their on the other side of the fire. “I cant take this, hey how long are you planning on standing their” he asked. He didn’t even get a reply because Saisho just ignored his comment. Now Rihashi was getting really frustrated “that’s it” he stood up and walked over to his elder brother and stood in front of him. Saisho as being the eldest one out of the two happened to be taller so Rihashi had to look up at him.

“Alright I cant take this silent treatment anymore, ok yeah maybe I did get in the way I will admit that however don’t just think that you can deal with a fight without me”, “tell me something” Saisho interrupted. “Why are you so desperate to fight” he asked him, “desperate who says I was desperate”. “You might have been able to beat the soldiers back at home but that was only training this is real, these demons will not take it easy on you” Saisho told him.

“You think that you are strong when truthfully you are weak” he then said. “What, me weak yeah you wish I am stronger than you think big brother” he said. “Strength isn’t every thing little brother, you should know that or didn’t Nitaku tell you that, doing such a reckless act against that worm demon is what an amateur would do it seems that Nitaku hasn’t really taught you anything” Saisho told him. “Of course I shouldn’t really be surprised, after all you still are just a pup” and he headed into the trees. “Hey where are you going” Rihashi asked “to patrol the areas you stay here and don't fall asleep there are worst demons out here than just that worm” and Saisho disappeared into the trees and bushes.

“Stay here he says, man what a bone head geeze how am I related to such a pig headed of a brother” and he laid down on the ground. Rihashi looked up at the starry sky ‘why couldn’t he just talk to me like an ordinary brother does’ he thought to himself. He then started to smell something really nice. “Hmm that smells just like flowers” he said to himself, when he started to feel rather sleepy. “Man I feel so tied but Saisho said I have to stay awake but I, I" and he fell straight to sleep.

A stranger walked out into the opening and looked at Rihashi “sleeping like a baby” the person picked him up and then disappeared into thin air. When Saisho returned back to the camp site where he left his little brother. Their was no sign of Rihashi anywhere but he did smell a familiar scent. The scent was rather strong so the culprit had left just a few minutes before Saisho returned. “This is all I need” Saisho said to himself, now he had to go and find his little brother and he knew exactly where he would be.

At a hide out near the mountains Rihashi was tied up when he woke up, he realized he was being tied up and saw a demon looking at him. “Hey where am I and why am I tied up” he said, “don’t worry kid nothings going to happen to you, yet” the demon told him. “Micho don’t scare the poor thing” another demon said. “Yeah whatever” and the one named Micho walked away, the other demon walked up to Rihashi. He bent down so he was eye level with him “you do look a lot like him” the demon said. “Who the hell are you talking about” Rihashi wanted some answers “why your brother of course” he was told.

“My brother wait are you talking about Saisho” he asked “well he is your brother isn’t he”. Rihashi looked at him “what the hell do you want” Rihashi then asked again “why your brother of course” the demon replied. “What is it you want from him”, “my you ask quite a lot of questions for a brat” the demon stood up and walked of. ‘Do they really think that Saisho will come to rescue me yeah right’ Rihashi thought.

He counted how many demons their where and it seemed their was only seven of them. ‘What is the reason to wanting Saisho anyway’ he thought to himself.

“So Riko are we going to kill the kid or what” Micho asked the demon who had just talked to Rihashi. “No not yet first I will kill Saisho and then you guys can kill his precious little brother any way you want” Riko told him. They then heard footsteps coming towards them, Rihashi heard them as well and a figure came out from the shadows. His eyes widened from surprise “Saisho” he couldn’t believe it. “I knew you would come Saisho it has been a while hasn’t it” Riko said walking towards him just leaving a large enough gap between the two.

“Rico I thought as much” Saisho said “its amazing how nine years can change someone, why look at you so grown up” Rico said. “I didn’t come here to chat what is it you want Rico” Saisho was growing impatient. “Saisho you know exactly what I want, revenge for killing my older brother Tiro” Rico told him. “I will never forgive you for killing him Saisho, so once I kill you your little brother is next” Rico told Saisho with a lot of anger in his voice. ‘Saisho killed his older brother nine years ago but that would mean that Saisho would have only been fourteen’ Rihashi thought.

“I am getting rather tied if you want your revenge then lets get to it” Saisho said to Rico “I was thinking the same thing” Rico replied. They both drew their swords and took their attacking stance. They both waited until the first one attacked, Rico decided to attack he went running towards Saisho. “AAAHHHH” Rico swung his sword at Saisho but he blocked Rico’s attack. “Tonight your going to die” Rico said, “first you have to kill me” Saisho replied and then pushed his sword and made Rico go back. Their was slashing sounds from the swords with each hit, one to attack and another to block. “COME ON SAISHO” Rihashi yelled out a demon who was standing next to him kicked Rihashi in the face. “Shut up you stupid brat” the demon said ‘that bastard kicking me in the face’.

Saisho swung at Rico and almost got him, if Rico hadn’t been able to dodge it in time. Saisho was able to kick Rico’s sword out of his hand. Then Rico did the same thing, now they where both sword less. The only thing now was to use their demon powers, Rico threw a fire ball at Saisho. Saisho blocked it with his poison whip disintegrating it, Rico then decided to use his most powerful attack.

Rico summoned a huge bird made out of fire “FIRE BIRD STRIKE” he yelled and the huge fire bird flew towards Saisho. Saisho then summoned a blue dragon “DRAGON WAVE” and it went towards Rico. The two spirits collided the strongest spirit would survive and kill the other spirits master.

Their where two big roars and the fire bird was losing Saisho’s spirit dragon was much more powerful. It beat the fire demon and headed straight towards Rico “no, NOOOOOO” and Rico’s body was nothing more than a pile of ashes. The dragon did a final huge roar and then it disappeared “hmm”, Saisho then looked at the other demons. “Now its your turn”, the demons ran towards Saisho but before they could attack Saisho used his poison whip and killed them all with just one strike. Rihashi couldn’t believe what he just saw his brother was able to beat them all and their leader with ease.

Saisho looked over at Rihashi he picked his sword up and walked towards his little tied up brother. With one slash he broke the ropes “hurry up where going home” he just said turning around leaving. A smile came up on Rihashi’s face, this time he wasn’t going to argue with him. He stood up and ran up to his big brother, he wanted to say thank you but he thought that just being quiet would make Saisho happy.
