She could not believe that he would give her up so easily. Sure she did not expect him to protect her forever, but at least until he got the answers she was sure he wanted. But no, He threw her away with out any regard pertaining to her life. He was so stubborn. Kagome was sure he would never give up anything that held his interest, especially to the likes for Naraku.

“NO SESSHOUMARU! THE OTHER YOU TOLD ME I WOULD MEET UP WITH YOU IN THIS ERA! HE TOLD ME SOMETHING BAD WOULD HAPPEN! PLEASE! I THINK THIS IS THAT MOMENT!”

Her voice was desperate, but she did not care at this point. Her life was at stake, and if she had to surrender herself to embarrassment she would.

“SESSHOUMARU! I WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING!”

She tried again, but still there was no sign of Sesshoumaru’s renewed interest.

“Shut up, woman!”

Naraku brought the back of his hand down across her cheek with great force. He smirked at her knowing well that he was in power now, not Sesshoumaru.

Kagome could feel the sting of unshed tear, as she placed the palm of her hand over her burning cheek. She could taste the remnants of blood on her tongue. He had busted her bottom lip with his blow. She whimpered, as she traced the lining of her lip. It was a wonder she was still standing. She could hardly hold herself up. She knew it was only a matter of seconds before she let the ever dominating darkness take her.

“Now.” Naraku interrupted. “If you hand over what I desire, than I will let you free.”

Kagome forced her self to maintain her cautiousness, as she bore her angered eyes into Naraku. She gritted her pearly whites, and spit her selected words out. They would be the last she spoke for a while.

“You bastard, I would rather die than give into the likes of you.”

She spit the best she could at his feet, stumbling in the process.

Naraku’s eyes grew red, and his fist shook at his side.

“Then so be it!”

He gave her yet another bruising blow to the face, but this time she did not have the pleasure of feeling the aftermath. She blacked out with a dark shadow looming over her shoulder.

As Sesshoumaru entered his humble abode, he quickly found his way to his study, where books, quiet, and more importantly at this moment, sake resided patently for his entrance. As he reached the large cherry wood door, elaborate with crafty carvings, and tall in stature, he pulled out an also very detailed key from inside his clothing where a hidden pocket rested. He gently slipped the key in the slot hidden amongst the deep lavishing curves of the door. With a slight twist of the key, the door boomed to life with aloud roar, sending an echo down the twining halls of his home. The door was only a fraction of the beauty it held behind its barrier. What lay beyond the wall was luxury at its finest, rich with gold’s, purples, reds, and rustic browns, all the mirror image of the Demon Lord himself. Sesshoumaru found this room’s environment to be the best when he was in need for comfort, silence, and solitude. It was ideal for his wondering mind.

Sesshoumaru wondered into his domain, pushing the door shut with ease behind him. He placed his swords and armor against the wall. As if the room was none to great, he took a seat at his large dark stained desk, diagonally from the fireplace. He rested his head against the back of his brown chair, as he massaged small circles to his throbbing temples, using his thumb and pointer finger. He could feel the begging of a headache, and only one thing he knew of could calm his nerves, and it lay dormant in his desk.

His hand found its way to the drawer to his left and pulled from its confines a brown tattered bottle of sake. He spun the year old bottle in his hand, taking notice to the torn label, and tarnished cap, due to the drinks last visit. That other night had been hell. It was the day he allowed Rin into his home that he last had a drink from this bottle. He did not often drink, only when he was not able to kill the pest that was gnawing at his mind, which needless to say was not often.

He removed the cap from the bottle, sneering at the gunk layered around the top. The thought of resorting to this. With out another thought he took a swig of the warming liquid. He, for once, enjoyed the burning sensation of the liquid fire maneuvering its way down his throat to take affect in the pit of his stomach. It was a welcoming sign of the comfort to come after a few more gulps. He took another mouthful of the strong sake, and rested the bottle on his right knee.

His eyes closed as his body warmed. His mind was free to wonder now, too think about that damned woman, and her sly tricky ways. At least had anyone found out about his thoughts he could say…

“I was drunk…”

The words sounded so good at the moment that he took another gulp, just to make sure the statement would be true.

He could picture her clearly, up and down, left to right, inside and out, frontward and backwards……… He was now sporting a cunning smirk.

He remembered everything from her raven silk black hair, her long thick eyelashes, sweet savory smiles, and her long bronze pair of luscious legs. Yes she was a vivid picture in his mind, and he was not even sure that he wanted her to be.

He frowned as he placed the bottle on the desk, and stood. His eyes drifted unsteadily across the room to where his swords rest. A bottle was tangled around the hilt, and what appeared to be in was a shocker.

“That damn girl’s shards.”

He plucked the bottle from its place embedded amongst his swords. His eyes grew angry as he stared at the pink tinted bottle. She had laid a burden on him that he did not wish to have, and why she did was no mystery.

Sesshoumaru tightened his hold around the bottle, shattering it in the process. Glass was scattered on the floor, and embedded into his hand, yet he did not let go, or show any indication of any feeling. His mind was the only part of him that was alive.

He growled at his next thought, and clenched his hand even harder than before, pushing the glass eve deeper into his palm.

Kagome had lied to Sesshoumaru, made him think that she desired him, but in all honesty she was hiding a fact about him. In his eyes she was going to get what was coming her way.

She had mentioned another him, but decided to tell only after he had thrown her to her enemy. He was a sitting duck. There was nothing he could really do about it now, unless he had a sudden and rare urge to go back on his word. It was not like he was the only one who was not as honest as they once appeared, Naraku proved that with their very first meeting. Yes, perhaps he could afford to pay a little get back, but not until he was ready, and that would come after this bottle of sake was emptied.
