Feelings

Sorry I haven’t updated for a while. I first got sick and then we had to prepare to move then I just lost my muse for writing. Eventually I found her. (She was hiding underneath the sofa the sly girl ;)

Whispers in the Wind

It had been weeks since Inuyahsa had claimed Sango as his own. During that time she and Inuyasha spent as much time together as they could. That is, as much time as they could without raising suspicion. Lately they were getting a few stray glances their way whenever they walked close to each other. Right now they were resting at Kaedes village.

“Hey Sango!” Kagome yelled as she ran towards her.

“What is it Kagome?”

“I just noticed that were running low on supplies, so I’m going back home to stock up. Could you do me a favor and ask if anyone wants me to get them anything while I’m there?

“Sure I’ll be right back.”

“Oh, and tell Inuyasha that if he’s a good boy while I’m gone, ill be sure to give him a treat.”

“Y-Yeah. I’ll tell him that.” She managed to force out before turning around and walked away.

(Gee. I wonder what her problem is?) Kagome thought

Sango went to find Inuyasha first. She figured that he would be in the forest, training with Shrugen. On her way there she couldn’t help but think of what Kagome said about Inuyasha.

(Kagome, when will you realize that Inuyasha is not a pet? I mean sure he has characteristics of a dog but that doesn’t make him one. Too bad you can’t get past his looks and see what a kind and loving man he is. Maybe then you might be compelled to remove the necklace from him though I doubt it. You always did enjoy having control over him. You may not show it on the surface but I can see the glint of amusement in your eyes whenever you ‘sit’ him. Perhaps I can talk to Kaede to see if she can remove it.)

As she thought these things over she found Inuyasha in a secluded area practicing sword forms in the air and Shrugen sitting under the shade of a tree reading a book of some sort.
“Inuyasha!” she said waving to get his attention as she approached him.

(I don’t think he heard me. He must be really focused on practicing his technique. Maybe ill watch for a little bit to see what exactly he’s being taught.) She thought.

Shrugen looked to be too absorbed in the book he was reading to notice her, so staying out of Inuyashas direct line of sight Sango climbed a tree in front of him giving her cover from being seen while also giving her a good view of him. (Now I know why Inuyasha always sit in a tree. You can observe other people without being seen. Interesting.) Inuyasha had his shirt off giving her an excellent view of his muscular chest. She watched as he fought invisible enemies, his movement was fluid, and his sword moving as if it was an extension of himself.

She couldn’t help but imagine a little scene that had appeared in her mind days ago. She and Inuyahsa would be sparring, weapons in hand they would charge each other blocking and parrying each others blows. Eventually she would make a mistake and Inuyasha would take advantage of it and pin her to the ground. Their faces would come together in a kiss. Inuyasha would then begin to kiss down her neck enjoying the moans of pleasure she would give. Then with his hand he would cup her breast and softly begin to knead it. After removing her slayers outfit he would proceed to…

“Sheesh Sango you’re horny already? It’s not even evening yet!”

Snapping out of her stupor she looked at Inuyahsa and found him staring at her, tetsuiga resting on his shoulder and a look of utter amusement on his face. Sango dropped down from her hiding place and walked over to him.

“I can’t help myself Inuyasha.” Sango said as she began to rub up against him earning a lustful growl from Inuyasha. “Whenever I see you with your shirt off, all hot and sweaty, it makes me wish you’d take right here and now!”


“Hey you two!” said Shrugen snapping his book shut. “You can fuck each others brains out later. Right now I have no doubt the whole village would hear your screams of ecstasy and I don’t think you’d want Kagome to find out that way now do you?”

Needless to say Sango and Inuyasha were more than a little embarrassed forgetting that Shrugen was in plain sight of them sharing their ‘feelings.’

“Besides you two will have to put your nightly ‘routine’ on hold for tonight. It will be a full moon which will be a perfect time Inuyasha for you to meet your long lost relative.”

It took a moment for Inuyasha to understand what he was saying but once he got it he nodded in understanding.

“Good. I’m going to go talk to Kaede and see if she has any purifying salt on hand. Inuyasha, meet me back here a half hour before midnight. I should have everything prepared by then.” With that Shrugen walked off, leaving Inuyasha to explain everything to Sango.

“Inuyasha? What’s was he talking about, a long lost relative?”

“Well you see a couple weeks back, before I claimed you, Shrugen told me of my mother and who she was. Her name was Midoriko and she is the prestess who created the sacred jewel. She was somehow able to contact Shrugen through one of the jewel shards and told him to find me and tran me. Tonight Shrugen will cast a spell that will allow her to teporaraly leave the jewel shard so she and I can meet.”

Sango was stunned. She new Inuyasha was specal but the son of Midoriko? Impossible!
There had to be a mistake. If he had prestess powers wouldn’t they come into conflict with his demonic blood?

“I know it’s hard to believe. I couldn’t believe it myself until Shrugen reminded me of when I was in the cave at the slayers village.I felt a loving presence, one that I remembered from when I was a pup. That’s when I knew he was telling the truth.”

“ I belive you Inuyasha. I am glad you will be able to see her tonight. I lost my mother at a young age too so I know how it feels. Oh I almost forgot. Kagome is going back to her time to get fresh supplies. Do you want anything?”

“Ramen!”

“Figures.” She said rolling her eyes. “Well I need to get going to ask the others. Kagome is going to be steamed because I wasted so much time with you.”

*chuckle* “Well get going. I’ll get my shirt and then go see if Kaede need help with anything.”

After giving Imuyasha a quick kiss on the cheek, Sango went off in search of the ass-grabbing monk. Inuyasha watched as Sango went down the road and smiled to himself.
( I am one lucky man.) he thought. As he was gathering his belongings from a nearby tree he quickly thrusted his hand in the bushes and pulled out Shippo who was struggling to escape Inuyashas grasp.

“Well Shippo” he growled. “I trust you overheard everything?”

“I-Inuyasha I didn’t m-mean to overhear you I-”

“Shippo I knew you were evasdroping on me and Sango.” He said growing calmer. “Truth is there is something I’ve been meaning to ask you. I know I haven’t exactly been nice to you and I know you view Kagome as a mother, but Sango and I have talked and we were wondering if you would like to be our pup.”

Shippo was shocked (he want ME to be his pup? But I thought he hated me. Ever since kagome convinced him to let me tag along, he went out of his way just to be mean to me. But lately he’s changed. He’s been more kind and understanding. Probibly because of Sango and their relationship.)

“Inuyasha I always thought that you and Kagome loved eachother.”

“I thout so as well but I feel that she and a weren’t really ment for eachother. Besides I don’t really think she loves me anyway.”

“Inuyasha, why do you want me to be your pup?”

“Because I know what its like to have lost your mother and father at a young age. When I lost my parents no one wanted anything to to do with me. I was hated by both humans and demons, not even my brother Sesshomaru cared wether I died or not. I lived a hard life, being chased out of villages and hunted for food by demons. Truth is I was lucky to have survived as long as I did. When we first met I was against you comeing with us because you reminded me of myself when I was a pup and I didn’t want to be reminded of my past whenever I looked at you. Although as our journeys continued I got used to you being there. Now I wish to prevent you from living the life I did when I was your age. I want you to grow up being loved by people who know what you have gone through. Only if you want to. The choice is yours.”

“Sorry for taking so long Kagome. I couldn’t find Miroku so I gave up and came back. Shippo wants some candy, Inuyasha wants Ramen-”

“As usual.” Said Kagome.

“and I wanded some of those baged goodies.”

“Ok then, I should be back later this evening.” Kagome said and jumped into the well.

(Finally, shes gone.) Sango thought. ( Now I can ask Kaede about Inuyashas necklace.)
and made her way to the village.

“Kaede are you here?” Sango said as she entered. “Yes child I am. What can I help you with?”

“Well its about Inuyasha.”

“Is there something wrong between you two?”
“No, nothings wrong its just… well I was wondering if you could remove Inuyashas cursed necklace.”

“Why do you ask?”

“I don’t want Kagome having control over him. Ever since we became a group, whenever Inuyasha does something Kagome disapproves of, she sits him as if he were her pet. Half the time he doesn’t deserve it. I love Inuyasha and I don’t want kagome abusing her power over him anymore!”

“A valid reason but I’m afraid I cannot do it.”

“Why not!?”

“I may be the one who placed the necklace around Inuyashas neck but it is Kagome who controls it. In order for the necklace to be removed you would have to be ether a prestess of strong powers or Kagome.”

Sango was crestfallen. Kagome would never allow Inuyasha to be freed from the cursed necklace and the only other prestess that can match her spiritual strength is Kikyo and shes dead. It looked as if Inuyasha would be collared forever.

“Kaede are you in here?I was wondering if I could ask you a fav-. Is something wrong?”
Asked Shrugen as he walked in seeing Kaede and a very depressed Sango.

“Huh? Oh, hi Shrugen. No nothings wrong.” Sango said

“You sure?”

“Yeah.”

“If you say so.”He said and turned to Kaede. “Do you have any purifying salt?”

“No I do not but the local temple will have some. Might I ask as to why you would need some?”

“I can’t say right now, but rest assured you’ll find out eventually.” Before he left Shrugen turned to Sango. “Spit it out Sango.”

“Huh?”

“Don’t play innocent with me. Just being around you is making me feel depressed. Tell me what’s wrong.”

“She is worried about Inuyasha.” Said Kaede “She fears thet he will always be under Kagomes control because of the cursed necklace.”
“Can’t you remove it?”

“No, only Kagome or someone as powerful as her can.”

“Hmmm. Well right now I would have to say don’t worry about it.” After receiving a are-you-insane look from Sango he hastely explainded.

“There’s no need to worry about tomorrows troubles when you have yet to deal with todays. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go get some purifying salt.” He said and departed for the nearest temple.

Inuyasha cracked open one eye to make sure everyone was asleep. After seeing and hearing no movment from Kaedes hut he made his way to meet Shrugen. As he made his way there became more and more nervous, thoughts racing though his mind. ( What do I say to her? Will she even reconize me? Will I reconize her? Do I tell her about Sango? Does she even know about Kagome?)

“Ah, there you are Inuyasha. I just finnished putting dowm the purifying salt.” He said

The salt was made so it was in a circle about ten feet in diameter, with simbols also written in salt surrounding the circle.

“Now before I begin there are a few things I should tell you. First of all, when I begin the chant I must have complete silence and have no interupptions. To make sure we would not have any uninvited guests I drugged our dinner with some herbs that will keep whoever eats it in a deep sleep until morning. Because you and I have demon blood we were not affected. Also when I call out your mother from the shard demons will more than likely follow. That is why I put down the purifying salt. Normally purifying salt doesn’t have such power, but with the full moon it will empower it enough to act as a barrier to keep the demon spirits within the circle, and allow Midoriko to walk around unhindered. When I call your mother out I will put up a fire aura around me so I do not get attacked by the demon spirits when they come out. I can maintain the aura for a limited time so I suggest make your meeting as breaf as possible.”

Shrugen made his way to the middle of the circle and sat down. Placing the jewel shard inbetween both of his index fingers and thumbs and began muttering something that Inuyasha could not understand. Suddenly Inuyasha noticed the jewel shard began to faintly glow and as Shrugen continued to chant the glowing increased until it was almost blinding. Then there was a sudden flash of light and as it dimmed he saw to his left dozins of ethreal demons within the circle. Some were trying to escape but were stopped by the barrier, others were trying to kill Shrugen but could not without getting insinerated by his fire aura. Infront of him was a woman standing before him wearing a prestess kimono but her chest and sholders were covered by armor. Her face was soft but he could tell in her brown eyes that she has been through much. Her hair style was much like his, its length worn to her feet except that her hair was black.

“Inuyasha… my son.” Midoriko said as she embraced him, tears in her eyes.

“Mother..I… why. Why did you go!? Didn’t you know that the townsfolk hated me? As soon as they heard you were dead they cast me out of town. I was on my own, not even Seshomarru would help me. I was hunted by both human and demon!”

“Oh Inuyasha I am so sorry. I had to face that demon otherwise it would have killed thousands of people including you. I fought it to keep you safe. If I had known it would turn out like this, things would have been different. Before all this happened you were such a kind boy, not a care in the world. But when you came to steal the sacred jewel from the shrine I sensed such a change in you. It broke my heart.You were full with hate and distrust. I am sorry.”

“I apoligise for interupting, but I cannot hold up this aura forever. Inuyasha you need to fill in you mother about Naraku and what has happened so far.” Shrugen said

“Yes Inuyasha you must tell me everything that has gone on.” Said Midoriko growing serious.

“Right. Well after the sacred jewel was created the demon slayer village looked after if for a number of years and then gave it to a powerful prestess named Kikyo to guard it.”

“Kikyo… Yes I think I remember sensing a powerful presence always nearby.”

“She protected it for years. By that time I was about 90 years old or 17 by how I looked. While she guarded it I attempted to steal it multiple times and failed every time. And every time she spaired me. Eventually she and I fell in love. One day a demon named Naraku came and attacked Kikyo while maskarading as me and pitted us against eachother. She died and took the jewel with her.But before she did she mannaged to pin me against a tree where I was put into a magical sleep. After 50 years A prestess from the future fell into a magic well which trasported her from her time to our time, and unknowingly brought the sacred jewel with her. She managed to release me from the tree but not before putting this cursed necklace on me, to subdue me if I tried to attack her. A demon bird snached the jewel from the shrine and as she tried to shoot it with her bow and arrow she managed to strike the jewel, shattering it and sending shards all over the land.

“I see. Tell me a little of this prestess from the future.”

“Her name is Kagome and is the granddaughter of the shrine guardian in her time. When I first saw her I thought she was Kikyo since they looked so much alike. Later we fould that she was the reincarnation of Kikyo and possesed her powers as well.”

“Ah I understand. Please continue.”

Hours went by as Inuyasha continued to tell her of their travels, how Inuyasha receved Tetsuiga, where they met their party members, their run ins with Naraku, the conflict with Koga, everything. When he finished Midoriko was in deep thought. After a few moments she spoke.

“Inuyasha this is terrible. Naraku has most of the jewel shards and is continually growing in power. I hope you deal with him soon otherwise he will become to powerful for anyone to defeat.”

“ I know were trying to find the rest of the jewel shards before he does and bring them to the future so they will be out of his reach, and then we will find and destroy him.”

“I see. Inuyasha Before I go I have a few questions for you.”

“Go ahead.”

“Have you found a mate yet?”

Inuyasha began to blush. “Uh well..yeah. Its Sango the demon slayer.”

“I see. Well you have my blessings.”

“Thanks mother.”

“Also does Kagome look like me at all?”

“Well come to think of it… yeah she does and Kikyo too!”

“It is as I thought. Kikyo is my incarnation I could tell her presence was similar to my own.”

“Wait if Kikyos your incarnation then that means…” as Inuyasha put it together he paled.

“ Holy shit!!!I fell in love with my mothers reincarnations not once but twice!?!” He heard a snicker from inside the barrier.

“ Inuyasha! Watch your mouth! They wanted to be close to you for reasons unknown to them. They naturally assumed it was love. It was mearly a feeling of need to protect you, my will decended to my reincarnations. Although im afraid that’s changed.”

“What do you mean?”

“When Kagome got her soul back she didn’t get all of it back. Kikyo managed to hold on to her darker side the side that hates and wants to cause harm. She managed to twist it in to and opsessive lust for you and now that she is dead, that part of her sould is now connected to Kagome. If she is not carful it might end up cosuming her like it did Kikyo.”

“That’s not good.”

“Inuyasha! Hurry up and say your farewells! I cannot hout up this aura for much longer.”

“Inuyasha there is one more thing before I go.” She placed her hand over his heart and Inuyahsa saw her hand glow. The glowing spread consuming his body in and unearthly radiance. A moment later she remover her hand and the glowing subsided.

“I have unlocked your prestly powers Inuyasha. Shrugen will train you how to use them.”
She then turned to Shrugen and adressed him.

“You take care of my little Inu or there will be hell to pay. Understand?”

“Yes ma’am.”

“Good. Goodbye Inuyasha well see each other again soon.” And she kissed him on the cheek. “And remember Inuyasha, I love you.” With that Shrugen mumbled a few words and the demons and Midoriko vanished into mist, her words lingering in the air like a whisper in the wind. Shrugen stood up and walked over to Inuyasha a look of concern on his face.

“You ok?”

“I will be. I just need some rest right now.”

“I understand. Well take a break from trainning for a few days and then I’ll show you how to harness your new powers.”

Both walked back in silence. When they reached Kaedes hut they could already see the pinkish glow of the rising sun on the horizon.
