Kissing Cousins

A/N: As a response to a reviewer, No I have never heard of this book. I merely used the term cause I thought it seemed appropiate for the story. And for those wanting to know about my other stories. I will finish them, but I have my muses. When I get home from work I usually add a few chapters to a certain story. Which one it all depends on my mood or what I feel like working on. Or if I get an idea for one of them I will concentrate on that one. It just all depends on what I decide I feel like working on. I can't work on a couple different ones everyday. My brain can't handle that or I'd be mixing them up. I'm flattered that I have readers that follow my work. No, I will not abandon them, I intend to finish every story that I have. I thank you for taking the time to read. I hope you enjoy! I'm also not too sure on the Sango pairing yet, that's still something being tossed in the air.


Chapter Six


The sound of the door slamming woke her up, the back of her head throbbing. A hand went up to the large knot, wincing at the pain. Sango could feel the man studying her, "What do you plan to do with me?"

"That is entirely up to you, do as you're told and you will not be punished." He was sitting down on a chair not far from her position on the floor. "I will get to the point, you have a lot of courage to come to the Makai. Did you really think you'd get out alive?"

"Get to the point." She snapped at him getting impatient.

"Silence, you will learn your place. There is a tournament coming up in four months time to decide the next ruler of the Makai. After it concludes I plan on taking a mate, my few prospects know this. I'm am tired of being hounded to choose now. They have decided to go on strike of a sort, denying me in their bed. All in the vain hopes of forcing my hand. I am a man, I have my needs. Until the time comes when I choose a mate you will see to those needs. I cannot allow you to leave, you are too big of a risk. I don't want to kill you because you aided in saving my son."

"You think I would willing play your whore?" She spat at him, it slid down his cheek.

His hand came up wiping the spit off, "You will or I will torture and kill your friend. Even now she is in a room waiting for your decision. No one can save you or her, think before you speak again. You have but one chance to answer. You can spare both you and your friend by accepting or codemn you both to death by refusing."

"Fine." She hung her head down looking at the dirty floor. What now? She'd just agreed to become his whore. But it meant Kagome wouldn't be harmed. A hand went around her arm pulling her to her feet. A guard was ecorting her out the door, they trailed behind Yomi as they walked down a long hall.

He opened up a room to the left and walked inside. "You will bathe and wait for my return."

Sango looked around the large room, it was nice. There was a large bed covered in red silk that matched the decor. A door was to the right, her guess the bathroom. The guard released her then stepped out leaving her alone with Yomi.

"I will return shortly. I suggest you clean yourself up."


"You are an asshole and I can't stand you." Kagome yelled at the redhead. She'd been sitting in this room for over five hours waiting for any word on how Sango was doing. Kurama had come in a few minutes ago to inform her that her friend had accepted her new position. "That's bullshit she'd never degrade herself like that. Your friend had to threaten her with something. The six-eared freak is blackmailing her I know it. And you are just going to stand there and let him."

"She isn't my concern."

"In that case neither am I, so get out."

"I have to disagree. My mother might accept a lie for Sango's absence but she will not accept your disappearance. You will return with me tomorrow." Kurama felt sorry for the other girl but he wouldn't interfere. For some reason Yomi had decided he wanted the girl.

"I will not. I'm staying here as long as Sango does. I won't leave without her." Kagome fisted her hands at her sides and screamed at him. "I will not leave my only friend here so yours can degrade or use her. She's already been through enough, can't you youkai just leave her alone? I should kill every last one of you. All of you are nothing but animals that think of nothing but yourself. It's all about the power, lets see who's stronger and lets see how many we can kill. No care or concern for anyone but yourself. I am sick and tired of it all. Does your friend really think we can't win a fight? Well let me tell you something, we have won against something the likes of you have never seen. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be alive today so I'll be damned if I'm going to stand here and let her sacrafice herself for me. Now, I suggest you get out of my way if you don't want to die." Her aura flared around her, growing by the second.

Kagome watched him move fear in his eyes. She went out the door searching for her friend, this way. Her aura continued to grow as she walked down the wall. Anger forced her to keep moving, a few youkai were purified as they ran forward to stop her. No wonder the taijiya had been formed, most of the youkai she'd ever met were monsters. There had only been a few exceptions from what she'd seen. She was tired of them trying to kill her or her friends. If it wasn't for the jewel, then it was for some other stupid reason.

She knew what Sango had gone through and she didn't deserve this. That man could find any woman he wanted. So why take someone that wasn't willing? It all went back to being a youkai, that power trip they all seemed to enjoy.

A guard was standing at the doorway, he yelled at her. He refused to move as she got closer, his scream filled the air as the power around her hit him. "Should have moved stupid." She pushed the button to open the door.

Sango was sitting inside on the bed wearing a long white dress. Someone had picked it out for her while she'd been in the shower. Her head snapped up when she felt the power standing in the doorway. "Kagome? What's happened to you?"

"Let's get out of here."

Sango wasn't sure what was going on but ran for her friend. Stopping outside of the range of the power. She wasn't a youkai but she could feel the power. Kagome's hand came out grabbing hers pulling her close. Her breath caught at the feeling as she stepped inside the aura. "I can't believe you are doing this."

"I won't let him hurt you, you're all I have left." Kagome pulled her down the hallway. "We are going home, I'll kill anyone that tries to stop us." She could sense Kurama and Yomi coming down the hall towards them. They would not interfere or they would die. As much as she liked Shiori, she loved Sango.

The two men stopped when they felt the women coming. Kurama's eyes widened seeing that she had gotten much stronger from when she'd left the room. Having her friend at her side had strengthened her somehow. "Yomi, might I suggest you letting them walk out of here?"

He growled, not liking the outcome. How had that little girl gotten that much power? Every youkai within five miles had to be able to feel it. There was so much control over it also, he could sense she knew what she was doing. It was lashing out at anyone trying to stop them, bypassing the youkai that didn't move. The woman he wanted was standing right next to the miko, unaffected by the energy. It was actually surrounding the girl, protecting her. Keeping him from taking her. "Stand aside all of you, let them pass."

"You're not as stupid as you look freak." Kagome sneered at him, the temptation to kill him strong. She didn't like being used as a tool to hurt her friend. "Don't come near us ever again or I will kill you on sight. Next time find out who you are threatening before you open your mouth."

Sango looked over at the girl next to her, her eyes wide. Someone was pissed off, she'd only seen Kagome like this one other time. No wonder Naraku had been scared of her. What had caused the change?

"Let's go," Kagome began running pulling the girl behind her, she could feel herself becoming tired. She didn't stop running until they were out of the city. No one bothered them as they ran, her legs were screaming in agony when she saw where they had come through. A small man suddenly appeared before them. He had spiky black hair, a third eye glared at them.

Hiei looked both human girls over, his brow lifting. Koenma had just sent him to locate them, "Come with me please." He opened the portal to Reikai waiting for them to enter. His eyes turned to see Yomi and Kurama coming towards them at a safe distance. "Unwanted company will be here soon, I suggest you go now."

Kagome nodded and entered the portal, feeling she could trust the small man. "Let's go Sango."

Kurama saw Hiei open the portal, his best friend merely smiled at him before stepping through. "I don't understand, why would Hiei take them to Reikai?"

"Go, see who they are. Something tells me they aren't average humans. I know that the last of the taijiya was killed over five centuries ago but that girl was one. Return to me when you have some answers." Yomi turned around to head back to the city.
