Chapter Six


She jumped out of the way and unleashed the power. As the blast ripped towards him, she released it again. Before she stopped several blasts were heading in his direction. She waited for the moment until he tried to jump out the way. Seeing that it would tear through his barrier he leapt into the air to avoid the rest of the blasts. A smile crossed her face, she extended her hand.

His eyes opened wide when he saw the large blast of fire swirling with purification energy heading straight for him while in midair. "Bitch." He sent out several more tenacles to take the brunt of the attack. Even being his attachments he still felt the pain from the injury. He landed on the ground and glared at her. "You have changed Kagome. Would you like to know who's name Inuyasha screamed as I tore him apart?" He tried to taunt her.

"All we need to know is that you will be calling ours as we tear you apart." She sent another blast towards him. "Save us the trouble and stand still. You aren't worth chasing."

Kurama held Hiei back as they watched the battle play out not sure who to help. "Wait. We shouldn't interfere just yet. Don't worry we won't let the girl die, you will get your answers Hiei." He watched the girl send several more blasts from her sword.

Hiei saw the blast finally tear into the man's side taking his left arm. He didn't care who the man was, he would get answers from the girl before she left again. Why had she avenged him? Or was it his mother that had been avenged?

Kagome smiled when Naraku scowled, "Oops looks like we scratched you. Clearly even being as you are, you are no match for us. Prepare to die." She lifted the fang inserting her purification powers into it.

Naraku sent out a blast of miasma, the cloud was huge and it was heading straight for the two males watching.

Kagome saw it heading for them, they weren't moving. She jumped and landed in front of them, putting up a barrier. "Don't move." Neither moved as they watched the cloud pass them, everything in it's path dying. Kagome waited for it to pass and waited. It cleared to show that he had run, she cursed. "Fuck, dammit couldn't you two have stayed away. Now we've lost our chance."

"Sorry, I guess we should thank you."

"You should turn around and leave us alone. What the hell do you want? Don't you have anything better to do?" She began walking away, the fang still by her side. Anger filled her knowing that he'd gotten away. "Fucking bastard hasn't changed, still the coward."

'Oh well, maybe we will get him next time.' Kagome sighed to herself.

'If you are happy with that, I'm not. I didn't like the way he smelt.'

'Most people don't.'

"Hn."

She turned to see the two still there watching her, "Yes?"

"We'd like to speak to you." Kurama had a few questions and he was sure Hiei had many. "Are you Kagome?"

"Yes, we are."

"I see." Whatever that meant, so he tried another. "Why did you attack the koorimes?"

"We were keeping a promise." Sadness filled her voice as she spoke. "Have you come to arrest us for the death of that old crone? Pity, that someone would believe her death unjustified."

"Who asked you to kill her?" Hiei spoke up.

"You do not need to know so we won't tell you. If that is all we having something to attend to. That stench is clinging to our skin."

"We cannot allow you to leave, Koenma will wish to speak to you." Kurama landed in front of her, getting a good view of her face. Green eyes roamed over her face slowly then landed on her eyes. "Who have you merged with?"

She cocked her head, "Cute and smart, we like that." She turned to the small man, "Don't try to read our minds, it is most unflattering. We grow tired of the interigation."

"Get back here." Hiei yelled at her when she began to walk away. "Tell me who asked you to kill the elder. I will not leave you be until you answer. I could care less about the jewel but I will have my answer."

She sighed, she just wanted to find someplace to take a nice bath. What harm would it do to tell them? Without turning around she answered as she walked away. "Father."
