***Okay...I edited this chapter somewhat. I'd like to thank the one reviewer who pointed out my stupidity regarding the jewel...I want Inuyasha to give up the jewel. After it's complete, I seriously think he wouldn't keep...he'd hate the damn thing... Okay well I'll try to make sense from now on! Promise!!! THANKS for the reviews!!!!!!!!!

INUYASHA”S DREAM

Kagome was bathing in the cold river, and Inuyasha was perched in a tree ‘keeping an eye out for danger.’

“OW!” Kagome yelped.

Inuyasha dropped to the ground and was standing on the bank of the river. He had a perfect view of a very naked Kagome. She was balancing on one leg, and was looking at the bottom of her other foot. Inuyasha could smell her blood. She heard a thump, and looked up to find Inuyasha gaping at her.

“SIIIIIT!” She shrieked, and ducked down in the water.

“What was that for?” He mumbled though clenched teeth. He raised his head, looking away from Kagome. “I only wanted to help…I heard you yell…I thought you hurt yourself.” He stood brushing off his haori, and turned around to leave.

“Wait! …I …I did…I cut my foot on a sharp rock…it’s bleeding.” She winced as she tried to put weight on the foot. “I think it might need stitches…Could you…do you think you could help me out of the water…please?” She whispered.

He turned around began wading into the water, where Kagome was leaning against a rock. The water came up to her waist, and she was covering her chest with her arms. Inuyasha shrugged out of his haori, and put it around Kagome. She gladly pulled the garment on over her shivering body. Inuyasha easily scooped her up in his arms and walked to the river bank, sitting Kagome gently on a rock.

“Which foot? He asked, kneeling in front of her.

She raised her left foot. Inuyasha saw the cut was indeed deep enough to require… ‘What did she call them? … ‘stitches’.

Kagome giggled, and tried to pull her foot away.

“Stop moving!”

“S…sss…sorry…it tickles!!!”

He tore a piece of his white undershirt, and tore that piece in half. He wet the one half, and cleaned the blood from the wound. He wound the other half around her foot to stop the bleeding.
“There that should do for now, right?”

“Thank you.”

She reached out her hand to run a hand through his hair, and she stopped to rub his ear. The soft touch on his soft appendage caused Inuyasha to shiver, and stifle a moan. She leaned down to kiss his cheek. She lost his balance, and landed on top of him.

“Oops!” She laughed.

Their eyes met, and Inuyasha pulled her down into a rather passionate kiss. He rolled them over, and pinned her beneath him. He broke the kiss, and smiled down at her shocked expression.

“Inuyasha?” Kagome became uncomfortably aware of how close they were…”

END OF INUYASHA’S DREAM

“Inuyasha?” Kagome called.

Inuyasha was reluctant to give up the dream, but he felt someone gently slapping his cheek. He squinted his eyes against the bright morning sun.

“You awake?”

“I am now.” He yawned.

“Good. Did you have a bad dream?”

“No. Why?”

“Umm…well…you were moaning, and…oh, never mind.”

Kagome started to rise, but was pulled back down into Inuyasha’s lap. “Where do you think you’re going, Ka-go-me?”

“We gotta get back to the village…the others are probably looking for us.” She wiggled around in his lap, trying to get free.

Inuyasha grunted. “Dammit woman. Stop moving.”

Kagome stopped moving, and became aware that something was poking her in the behind. She looked up at Inuyasha sheepishly.

“Inuyasha?”

“I told you to stop moving.” He shrugged.

She ground her hips into his erection. All the wind left his lungs like someone socked him in the gut. He pulled her back against him, and dipped his warm tongue into her ear.

“Inuyasha!”

“What?!”

“Stop teasing me!”

“You started it!”

He began tickling her, and she squirmed in his arms.

“S..s…st..sto…stop…hahhahahahaha!!!”

Inuyasha stopped tickling her and crossed his arms over her belly. Kagome’s was struggling to catch her breath.

“I love you. You know that, right?”

“I know, Kagome. And…I…SHIT” He growled. He stood, bringing Kagome with him.

“What is it?”

“Kouga.”

The wind picked up, and stopped suddenly. Kouga dropped to his knees in front of them.

“Hey! Dog shit! What are you doing with MY woman?”

“She is not your woman!”
“I am not your woman!” They both said in unison.

“Look. Kagome when are you gonna come to your senses and leave dog crap, here? Be my mate?” Asked Kouga.

“You sonofabitch!!! Over my dead body!!!”

Kagome looked between the two males, and rolled her eyes. ‘Too much testosterone.’ She thought. She stood between them and pushed against their chests.

“Boys Boys Boys! Knock…it…off!!!”

Inuyasha and Kouga backed down, but they were still glaring at each other menacingly. Kagome stood beside Inuyasha and took his hand.

“OK…now look…Kouga, the jewel is almost complete. You have two shards. Then, we HAVE to get the rest of the jewel from Naraku.” ‘Thanks to Kikyo.’ Kagome thought bitterly. “Inuyasha, is there something you want to ask Kouga?”

Inuyasha shuffled his feet. “Do you think it would too much trouble for you to give over the jewel without a fight?”

Kouga snarled.

“Inuyasha!” Kagome cried.

Kouga smirked.

‘Okay. I don’t like that look.’ Kagome thought.

“What do I get in return?” Kouga asked.

Inuyasha started to growl low in his throat so only Kagome could hear him. Kouga’s smile reminded Kagome of the Cheshire cat.

‘Here we go.’ She thought.

“What do you want?”

“You.” He stated simply.

Once again Kagome found herself between the two males.

“God! What am I gonna do with you two?!” Can’t you two play nice just this once?”

“Uh-uh. I told you what I want.”

“And I told YOU over my dead body.”

They were all quiet for a few minutes. Inuyasha broke the silence…what he said took Kouga and Kagome by surprise.

“How about YOU keep the whole fucking jewel?”

Kagome whipped her head around to look at Inuyasha. Kouga stood there dumbfounded. He was shocked to say the least. He had DEFINITELY not expected that.

“Inuyasha?” Kagome whispered, her eyes wide as saucers.
“Why?” Asked Kouga.

Inuyasha pulled Kagome against him. Kouga smiled when he saw the possessiveness, and he knew: Kagome was never meant to be his.

Even though Inuyasha might not have admitted to Kagome how he feels, probably didn’t even admit it to himself, but the truth was right there in the way he looked at her. He adored her. He would give the world to her. He WOULD die for her.

“Well…I don’t want the responsibility anymore…it’s only caused me nothing but trouble…The only good that ever happened to me because of the jewel…is standing right beside me” His arm tightened around Kagome. Kagome’s face turned bright red. She reached up to feel his forehead.

“Are you feeling alright, Inuyasha? You ARE Inuyasha, right?” They all laughed.

“Yes…it’s me!” He laughed and kissed her forehead. “Besides, Kouga…I don’t think you’re bent on world domination…at least not yet.”

Kouga thought this over for a second...he knew Inuyasha wouldn't give Kagome up and had no chioce but to agree.

"Okay...once Naraku is defeated the jewel is mine."

Inuyasha nodded. "We’ll help you defeat Naraku, and the jewel is yours…Kagome’s mine.” His voice dropped. Kagome’s eyes widened once again.

Kouga smiled and nodded. “May I?” He asked Inuyasha.

Inuyasha released his hold on Kagome. He took one of her hands in his and kissed it. “My dear Kagome…Inuyasha drives a hard bargain…he better take good care of you.” He said giving Inuyasha an ‘or else’ look. “It’s been a pleasure…and hopefully we can all be friends.”

“Keh!”

Kouga laughed. He hugged Kagome and kissed her cheek.

“See you around!”

“Bye, Kouga! Take care of yourself and tell the others hi!”

“Will do!” He said, and disappeared into a cloud of dust and wind.

After Kouga departed, Kagome turned to Inuyasha, and she was absolutely flabbergasted.

“What, was that all about? I can’t believe you gave up the jewel! Now you can’t become full demon.”
Before she could protest anymore, Inuyasha covered her mouth with his.

“I don’t want to become a full demon anymore. Aren’t you the one who said you like me as I am?” He tapped her nose with his finger.

“No.” She tried not to smile.

“No?”

“I said I love you.” She stood on tip toes and kissed him again.

“Will you stay with me, Kagome? Please?”

“I don’t know. Will you stay with me?” She said seriously.

Inuyasha felt Kagome stiffen in his arms. He noticed she was looking over his shoulder.

“What is it Kagome?” He turned following her gaze.

“Kikyo.” They breathed.
