Punishment Plus Intrest

A/N:Refer to Important notes. As of this story, Kagome is 17. You'll understand in a few paragraphs.

Sango sat outside of Kaede's hut as Rin played in her hair. It had been a few hours since Inuyasha ran off in search of Sesshoumaru and Kagome. Sango was pretty sure that Sesshoumaru would kill the girl, and despite the fact that they shared mating bonds, he and Inuyasha would fight to the death. She paid little attention to Rin's incessant chatter, which was actually not annoying. Her continuous prattle helped soothe Sango's mind and ease her guilt about telling Sesshoumaru where Kagome was headed. He could have tracked her scent, but by the time he reached her, she would have jumped in the well.

"I miss Inuyasha. I want him to come back," Rin whined, stomping her foot. She had placed Sango's long thick hair into a neat bun on the top of her head and secured it with reeds from the edge of a stream that ran close by the village. Sango turned halfway to stare inquisitively at Rin.

"You mean Sesshoumaru, don't you?"

Rin scratched her neck. "I want both of them to come back. Inuyasha always brings me pretty things when he comes to see me and Lord Sesshoumaru! His gifts are always the best!" She exclaimed, giggling and hugging herself.

Sango gasped lightly.'Always? Since when is Inuyasha always going to see them? And why?' "Pretty things like what, Rin?" Sango asked, her intrest in Rin suddenly skyrocketing. Rin smiled and stood out in front of Sango and twirled around. "Inuyasha bought me this green kimono! He bought Lord Sesshoumaru one as well, but his is silver and black. Inuyasha told me that it was made from real silver too," Rin leaned in close to Sango and whispered as if they were trading government secrets. "It's the finest silk Inuyasha could find. Feel," Rin commanded and shoved a corner of her kimono into Sango's hand.

"Y-yes, Rin. It's magnificent," Sango whispered, her mind attempting to grasp the small but unexpected bit of information she had just recieved. ' I knew it! So they are togehter. Why else would Inuyasha buy such expensive and lavish gifts for his enemy? Only if Sesshoumaru was no longer his enemy!'

"Rin, I need you to be honest with me. When Inuyasha comes to visit, does he always bring something for you and Lord Sesshoumaru?" Rin nodded and pulled a doll from Kagome's time from her pocket. "Not the last time, but the time before he bought me this," She said, thrusting the blond haired Barbie at Sango. "Her name is Ohayo and she is pleased to meet you!" Sango reluctantly took the doll, remembering it's disappearance roughly a month ago. It was one of Kagome's favorite dolls and the girl nearly threw a fit when she discovered it missing. Sango could also recall Inuyasha sitting in a tree yawning, making fun of Kagome and telling her that no seventeen year old girl, from his time or her time should be playing with dolls, at least not in public. Of course, he was sat for his comments.

"Have you ever seen Lord Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha kiss?" Rin blushed and reached for her doll. "Give Ohayo back, please Miss Sango." Sango smiled and held the doll over Rin's head. "Not until you tell me if Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru have kissed." Rin turned red in anger. "That's for me to know and for you to never find out!" She jumped up in the air but Sango pushed her back down. "Tell me, and it will be just between us. You won't get in trouble. But if you don't tell, Kilala will eat Ohayo!" Sango tried to be threatening, but she couldn't. She had fallen in love with the little girl, and could have run off and raised her. Her personality was awesome, her laugh infectious, her pouts heartwrenching.

Rin sat down on the blanket Sango had been previously sitting on and turned her face to the mountains. For a moment, she actually looked like Sesshoumaru with that cold hard look on her face. "Destroy Ohayo if you want. I don't care; Inuyasha will bring me another. But if you want to know what I know, you'll give me back my doll." Her small voice was clear and sharp, as if a grown woman had posessed her body. Then she looked at Sango and grinned. "You like me. You wouldn't have fed Ohayo to Kilala. It would have hurt her stomach!" Rin petted Kilala and scratched behind her ears, making the neko purr and roll around. Sango smiled and nodded. "I do like you. I like Inuyasha too and I want to know if Sesshoumaru is in a relationship with him." Rin cast solemn eyes at Sango. "Yes, they are boyfriend and girlfriend. But Lord Sesshoumaru is unhappy. When Inuyasha leaves he cries all night. And I cry too," She whispered, holding her head down.

Sango gave Rin a sad look and bent down to hug her. Then she began to tickle Rin, making the girl laugh hysterically. Rin smiled at Sango and Sango returned the smile.

"Are we friends, Miss Sango?"

Sango chucked Rin under the chin and grinned. "Forever, Miss Rin." Shippo ran out of Kaede's hut and he and Rin returned to fierce play as Sango took Ohayo back and sat down again, staring at the doll and contemplating the fact that Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru were together.

~A Few Miles from the Southern Caves~

Sesshoumaru stopped and panted for a moment. Kagome was heavier than she looked and Sesshoumaru dropped her many times while he and Inuyasha trekked through the woods. At one point Sesshoumaru was dragging Kagome by her hair, but stopped when he found the load strangely lighter and looked down to see he had a handful of the miko's hair and her body was lying a few yards back. Sesshoumaru kept dropping her, mainly because he wanted to. He was quite content with chewing his gum and watching Kagome bounce every time he dropped her.

"The caves are this way," Inuyasha instructed, bending back twigs and brushing leaves out of Sesshoumaru's way. They faced the huge caves, a large boulder in front of the main cave. Sesshoumaru dropped Kagome on the ground and faced Inuyasha.

"Are you sure you want to inflict this pain upon her? Are you right in what you are doing? Do not let your emotions become your undoing."

Inuyasha narrowed his eyes at his brother. "What are you, scared?" A sharp glance from Sesshoumaru quickly put Inuyasha back in his place. "All I'm saying is that Kagome had this a long time coming. I stayed with her way too long, but I didn't think it would take this long to find the shards. Forgive me," Inuyasha said, bowing his head humbly. He knew that the Southern Caves were where humans and youkai alike took their mates/potential mates to dispose of them. He also knew that if malicious intent were brought upon an innocent in the caves, the spirits of the ones who died in the cave would avenge the person who was unjustly sealed within. Children dared not to venture within miles of the caves after dark, for they were haunted, and the ground around the caves was sour with the dead.

Sesshoumaru reached out and stroked a claw gently over Inuyasha's face. "You are forgiven, my love. As long as you promise me before we seal this miko in the caves that you will return to whom you belong. Our daughter aches to have you around, and I can not bear to see her tears for another night. Kami brought this wench into our lives, and through her my happiness will be secured." Sesshoumaru gave Inuyasha a meaningful look and nudged Kagome lightly with his foot.

"Awaken, ningen miko. I know for a fact you have been lucid for awhile now. You play dead well, but not well enough." Sesshoumaru knelt down and looked at Kagome, who's eyes were now open and staring hatefully at the pair of brothers.

"You lied to me," Her voice was grating and acid filled as she spit the words out at Inuyasha. "You lied to me and to Kikyo. You made us have hope where there was none, and used us to try to obtain the Shikon Jewel. Filthy half-breed bastard! No one will ever love you! I guess that's why you decided to 'keep it in the family', isn't it dog!" Sesshoumaru took Kagome's head in his hands and slammed it back down in the dirt. Kagome coughed as tears flowed from her eyes. "You aren't human! And neither are you," She gargled hatefully at Inuyasha, her eyes narrowed to slits. Sesshoumaru smirked at her and easily moved the boulder away from the cave opening.

"Inside, miko, is hell. These are the Southern Caves, the Caves of Illusion. If in fact for some reason you do not deserve this punishment, then nothing will happen to you. You will be the same when we return for you as you are now. If not..." Sesshoumaru trailed off and picked Kagome up by the scruff of her collar.

"No, Sesshoumaru, please don't put me in that cave! I didn't mean what I said! Inuyasha! INUYASHA!" Kagome screamed as Sesshoumaru began to drag her into the cave. She turned around to see his tear streaked face. Her words had hurt him far more than any 'sit', any blade, or any arrow could. She narrowed her eyes again at his vulnerable state and smiled.

"SIT BOY!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Sesshoumaru watched in horror as Inuyasha's beautiful face slammed to the ground, breaking his fine nose. Sesshoumaru looked into Kagome's dirty face and grabbed her by the neck and squeezed, bruising tender skin. He sneered in comtempt at her and flung her as hard as he could into the cave. She landed with a thud and moments later began screaming like a madwoman. Sesshoumaru sealed the cave and then ran over to Inuyasha, who was struggling to stand.

"Inuyasha, are you hurt?"

The hanyou laughed, shakily standing. "Feh, I'm fine. Only my pride was hur-" Inuyasha swooned and Sesshoumaru gracefully caught him, their noses almost touching. "This isn't so bad. I wouldn't mind the sits if they all ended like this," Inuyasha whispered, his eyes locking with Sesshoumaru's. The heated glare was returned. "Indeed," The youkai said before lowering his lips gently to Inuyasha's. Sesshoumaru traced his tongue over Inuyasha's lips, causing a low growl from the hanyou.

"This is not the right time nor place, and the music is horrible," Sesshoumaru said, referring to Kagome's screams, which could be faintly heard through the boulder. Inuyasha licked Sesshoumaru's neck and sighed, delighted to be in his lover's arms once again. He felt complete and whole, like he had nothing further to hide. He and Sesshoumaru had made love many times, but were not mates, as both wanted someday to rear children. It was possible for Inuyasha to carry, but he refused. The baby issue, along with a few minor others was what kept Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru from fully mating.

"We shall pick Rin up from the village and retire to the castle. I am sure that the kitsune and the slayer have worn her out, so we will not awaken her." Sesshoumaru gave Inuyasha a sly look and turned his back to him and squatted. "On my back, Yash." Inuyasha blushed furiously at his pet name.

"Sess! I can walk!"

"Prove it." Inuyasha took three steps and swooned again, his legs still feeling somewhat rubbery.

"I'll tell you what. I will summon AhUn to recieve you, and I will go get out daughter. Something tells me that the Slayer wants to speak with me. We will meet at the castle soon enough." Sesshoumaru opened his mouth and howled, and moments later, the fuzzy shape of AhUn in the dark distance appeared.

"Hey Sess, make sure you get rid of that chewing gum before you come home. You look like a cow eating." Inuyasha gave Sesshoumaru a lustful glance and a loving tug on one of his elfish ears before hopping on AhUn and riding away. Sesshoumaru smiled watched them until he could see them no more and then jumped down the cave with great speed and agility toward the village to retrieve his child.

~In the Village~

Sango yawned as her eyelids drooped. Watching Rin was harder than she expected. Night time had fallen, and both Rin and Shippo were fed, bathed, and sleeping on the same straw cot in Kaede's hut. Ohayo had gotten lost by the river and many of the villages women had to be called upon to find the doll, for Rin refused to do anything until the precious modern era doll was returned to her. Miroku was also sleeping in the hut, curled up around Kilala. They had all tried to stay up to wait on Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha, but it had gotten late and the children became cranky, so Miroku so gracioulsly offered to go into the hut and sleep with the children. Sango placed a chair out in front of Kaede's hut to stand (or sit) watch over the sleeping inhabitants.

"Awaken, Slayer." Sango jolted out of her light sleep to find herself looking up at Sesshoumaru. It was nearly pitch black outside, but for a few lit torches around the village and of course, Sesshoumaru's own bright amber eyes. Seeing those eyes in complete darkness would be scary to an untrained eye, but Sango had seen Inuyasha's eyes plenty of time in the dark and was not afraid of the haunting glow. In fact, she would have mistaken Sesshoumaru for Inuyasha, had he said 'Sango' instead of 'Slayer'.

Sango yawned and stretched. "Would you like for me to go get Rin for you now?" She asked, still grappling with the fact of the youkai and hanyou's relationship. Sesshoumaru stepped forward and held Sango's chin in his hands. He sniffed all over her face, and ran a clawed hand over her features.

"You know. Rin told you."

Sango tried to play dumb. "Told me?" A growl from Sesshoumaru made her confess. "Yes, she told me of you and Inuyasha, but I knew from the moment I saw you glowing too that you shared an incomplete mating bond. I take it Kagome also found out before she died, didn't she?"

Sesshoumaru let Sango's chin go and gave a small sigh. "The miko is not dead. Inuyasha found it a better punishment to let her dwell in the Southern Caves of Illusion for a few days."

Sango stiffened. "The Illusion Caves? She'll go insane!"

"Not unless she is innocent of hurting Inuyasha. Not unless he really did convince her that they were meant to be and he loved her with all of his heart and then betrayed her to be with me. The miko is a liar and a whore, and all of her faults will be revealed to her in the most painful of ways. Besides, she was already insane to constantly test Inuyasha's hand." Sango shuddered and turned to the hut to go and get Rin. She emerged moments later carrying a sleepy girl, still clutching to Ohayo.

"Her doll, did she tell you the name?" Sesshoumaru asked. Sango nodded. "She came up with it because Inuyasha gave it to her one morning...after he spent the night with me." Sango blushed brightly and scurried back into the hut, shutting the door. Sesshoumaru snickered at what a prude the slayer was and turned to look at the caves in the distance. For a moment, he felt sorry for Kagome. That moment passed, however, upon rememebring how horribly she treated his brother and the love of his life. He smirked at the caves and turned and ran to the direction of his home, holding his beloved daughter carefully to his chest as he ran.
