Surviving a Nightmare

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WELL

Inuyasha ran towards the village with Kagome on his back.

“ I hope everyone is alright!”

“That bastard! There are NO shikon shards in the village, he had no reason to attack!”

“Just hurry Inuyasha!”

When they reached the village, they saw Miroku, Sango, Shippou, and Kaede searching the rubble for items that could be slavaged.

“Where is he?!” Inuyasha yelled, scaring the others. They looked up at Inuyasha and Kagome still dazed from what happened.

“He’s gone, Inuyasha. He destroyed the village and he left.” Miroku sighed.

“Was anyone hurt?” Kagome asked concerned.

“No, thank goodness.” Said Sango.

Kagome was trying very hard to stay on her feet, but she was feeling light-headed and fell to her knees. She was still feeling rather ill, and she vomited any substance that might be left in her stomach. Inuyasha immediately dropped down beside her.

“Kagome!” Sango hurried towards her friends and kneeled beside Inuyasha. Miroku, Shippou, and Kaede followed.

“Are ye still not well, Kagome?” asked Kaede.

Kagome nodded. “I’ll be fine. I’m sorry to worry you all.”

“Inuyasha, what’s wrong with Kagome?” Shippou asked.

Inuyasha looked at Kagome, she nodded. Inuyasha looked at his friends, although, truthfully he considered them family.

“Kagome is carrying our child.”

“What?” ashed Miroku.

“I said she is carrying my child!”

“Well, that explains a lot.” Said Sango. “Kagome, why didn’t you tell us?” Sango asked in a hurt voice.

“I’m sorry Sango. We were scared to say anything because of Naraku. If he knew…he would use that against us…We’re just so scared.” Kagome said, tears coming to her eyes.

“It’s OK Kagome.” Sango hugged Kagome.

Miroku and Shippou also walked over and joined in the hug.

“Kagome, we will do everything we can to help you and your child and Inuyasha.” Said Miroku. “This is wonderful news, really!”

“Yes, Kagome.” Smiled Sango. “I’m so happy for the both of you!”

Inuyasha pulled Kagome in his lap, and wrapped his arms around her waist. They both blushed. “Thank you.” They mumbled.

“We were afraid what you would think.” Said Inuyasha.

“Inuyasha, you’d have to be blind not to see how you feel about each other.” Said Miroku. “I think it’s wonderful that you finally admitted how you feel about each other.”

They all nodded.

“How far along are you?” Asked Kaede.

“About three weeks.” Said Kagome blushing.

“Well, how about we all get some rest and we’ll celebrate tomorrow?” Said Miroku.

“Miroku, this can’t leave the group, OK? At least… not yet” Said Inuyasha. Miroku could see the worry evident in his friend’s eyes.

Miroku nodded in understanding. “I understand.”

The all found a comfortable place among the rubble to sleep. They’d have much work to do tomorrow, and needed all the rest they could get.

SOMEWHERE IN THE FOREST

Unfortunately, they did not realize someone overheard the whole conversation. And that someone was furious. Kikyo ran from the village. Kikyo ran until she couldn’t run anymore, and fell to her knees. “How could you, Inuyasha?”

“Why, Kikyo, what are you doing here?” Asked Naraku walking from behind a tree.

Kikyo looked up startled. “Naraku…Inuyasha and Kagome are back…”

“So soon?”

“Yes… and that’s not all.”

“Oh? Do tell.”

She paused. She knew she was signing her death warrant…if Inuyasha ever found out. “She is carrying his child.”

“Really? Hmmm…I think I have an even better plan.” He smirked evilly. Naraku proceeded to tell her his plan.

BACK IN THE VILLAGE

*In Kagome’s dream once again.

Inuyasha kneeled on the ground before Kagura. His hands were tied behind his back. Unfortunately, it was the night of the new moon, and he was unable to escape. He was at the mercy of Naraku and Kagura. Kagura held a katana in her hand, and was waiting for orders from Naraku.

Kagome watched horrified at Inuyasha kneeling on the ground. She looked around for Sango and Miroku. They were defending themselves from samiyoushou (A/N: not sure I spelled that right.). Shippou was between Sango and Miroku on Kilala.

There was a thick fog surrounding the area of the forest where Naraku had them cornered. It was so thick, it was almost impossible to see. But Kagome saw Kagura, look over her shoulder. She turned to see Naraku smirk and nod. It was then that she realized that Naraku had one of his tentacles around her waist. She struggled, but couldn’t free herself from his grip. In fact, his tentacle wrapped tighter around her body, like a boa constrictor wraps it body around its victim.

“So this is how you’re gonna get rid of me. Get one of your damn incarnations to kill the half-breed?! Keh! I thought you’d be at least man enough to do it yourself!”

“Careful half-breed, or I will break our deal.”

“Inuyasha! Don’t do this please! Fight! You have to find a way!” Yelled Sango. “I won’t let you give up!”

Inuyasha hung his head. When he looked back up at Kagome she could see tears forming in his eyes. “I’m sorry Kagome, there was no other way. He would have killed me anyway.” Inuyasha squeezed his eyes shut. He looked at the sky and then back at his friends. Sango and Miroku landed and were now standing beside Naraku. “Get her out of here Miroku…Sango. Naraku, I’m begging you…you have what you came for…please…please don’t make them watch.”

Naraku nodded. Kagome and Inuyasah were struggling furiously to free themselves.

Dread filled Kagome’s heart at as she watched Kagura grasp the katana with two hands and raise it above Inuyasha’s head, the sleeves of her kimono dropping around her shoulders. Kagome felt like she was going to be sick. She blinked and as she opened her eyes she saw the blade swing towards Inuyasha…

*end dream

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”

“KAGOME!” Inuyasha yelled.

“Inuyasha!” She held him as tight as she could. “That damn dream, again! Please make it stop.” She begged.

“Kagome, it’s only a dream…I’m right here. OK?”

She nodded.

The next eight months passed quickly. Kagome’s belly grew, and Inuyasha smiled everytime he looked at her. Inuyasha and Kagome were married, and Inuyasha was welcomed as an official member of the Higurashi family. Kagome’s family was a little surprised when they told them she was pregnant, but then Mrs. Higurashi surprised them all and asked if her grandchildren might have cute little ears like their father.

As the months passed, news spread of Inuyasha and Kagome’s relationship and they received congratulations from many of the villages they assisted. The news even got to Sesshoumaru, and he decided to pay them a visit.

“Can Rin go play with Shippou-kun, Sesshoumaru-sama?”

“Yes, Rin, go play.”

Kagome was coming out of Kaede’s hut when she saw Sesshoumaru. He could see her belly swollen with Inuyasha’s child, and smiled. ‘So Inuyasha has finally grown up?’

“Sesshoumaru?”

“Where is Inuyasha?”

“Ummm…he’s hunting. He should be back any minute. You don’t want to fight now, do you?”

“No, Kagome.” He smirked. “This Sesshoumaru only wishes to extend his congratulations to you and my brother.”

“What?”

“Kagome, look out!” Yelled Inuyasha landing in front of her with tetsuaiga drawn.

“Inuyasha! Put the sword down.”

“Inuyasha listen to your woman. This Sesshoumaru means you no harm.”

He lowered the sword. “What do you want?”

“To congratulate you and wish you well.”

He walked over and extened his hand. Inuyasha looked at him warily, but shook his brothers hand. Sesshoumaru looked at Kagome and then back at Inuyasha. “May I?” Inuyasha nodded. Sesshoumaru hugged Kagome. “Welcome to the family.” He said.
Kagome looked puzzled. “Thank you… but why the change of heart all of a sudden?”

“Well, I figure it’s time to let the past go, and look towards the future. What do you say, Inuyasha?”

He nodded.

“Good, it’s about time!” said Kagome.

Sesshoumaru stayed in the village for a couple days. Believe it or not, he even helped do some repairs in the village.

After dinner one evening, Inuyasha and Kagome went for a walk in the forest to a hot spring. They sat on the bank with their feet dangling in the warm water.

“Inuyasha, I need to go home tomorrow for graduation.”

“I know.” He smiled. “And I will have a surprise when you get back.”

Kagome leaned into Inuyasha and he put his arm around her. “Come on Inuyasha.” She undid the belt around her waist and let the material fall around her. She slid into the water. Inuyasha undressed and slid into the water. He wadded over to stand behind Kagome, and wrapped his arms around her waist and placed his hand on her stomach.

“Soon we will not have many chances to be alone like this.” He felt the baby kick. He smiled and heard Kagome laugh. She turned in his arms, and kissed him.

“Then maybe we should make the most of this opportunity?” She smirked. Her hand reaching under the water and between his legs. She wrapped her hand around his manhood. Inuyasha groaned. “Kagome.” She continued to massage his aroused, swollen flesh.

“Please…don’t stop…Ka-go-me.”

A few seconds later, she felt him shudder. He looked at her with such warmth in his eyes. He pulled her close and kissed her. He lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist. He walked over to a rock and sat down. Kagome could feel he was already aroused again. She lifted up and lowered herself down over his erection. She continued to push off and slide back down. He covered her mouth with his hand, and buried his face in her neck as they both clung to each other, shaking. They got out of the hot spring. dressed and made their way back to the hut.
