CHAPTER 6: LIVING
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She looked in the mirror at the person who stared in disbelief back at her in the bathroom. A blush was creeping into her cheeks. The outfit was ice blue in color that matched well with her eyes. The style of the dress was a wrap around low v-neck which showed her round breasts. A small ruffle of sheer material that matched the dress went around the collar to the bottom of the dress. The ribbons that tied the dress together was an iridescent silver color that tied at her hip. The dress ended just above her knees. It was made of a sheer material that was transparent at certain angles when Kagome moved. There was a blue silky liner sown into the dress but still it left nothing to the imagination. It hugged her curves in all the right places. “This is more of a robe than a dress Sango! What were you thinking?” She whispered to herself. Kagome’s hair was pulled half up in a neat ponytail while the other half was curled to perfection at the bottom.
*knock, knock, knock*
“Kags! It’s us! Open up the door!” Yelled the charming male voice.
Kagome rushed to the door and cracked it open, just so Miroku could see her head and not her scantly cad body.
“Where is Sango?” she hissed with a hint of a blush in her voice.
“I’m right here Kags. Come and open the door.” Answered Sango sweetly from behind Miroku.
Kagome opened the door so that they could come in, but gave Miroku a look that threatened, 'say anything perverted and you die.'
Miroku caught the deadly death look and looked down at the carpet.
“Damn, Kags you look drop dead hot!!!!!!!!!” Sango chirped.
“Sango, I can’t wear this. It’s indecent!” Whined Kagome.
“Kags, you look good, and you know it. Did you happen to notice what I’m wearing?”
Kagome looked up at her friend and noticed the shocking outfit she was wearing. That earned Sango a head shake for Kagome. She was to busy worrying about her outfit.
Sango wore a spaghetti strap dress that had a low scooping neck line that showed her black lacy bra. The black silk dress that had two slits that went from the bottom of the dress to her hips on either side. The bottom of the dress was asymmetrical that revealed shapely looking calves and lean thighs.
Kagome’s mouth formed an “o” at the sight of Sango’s dress. She then closed her mouth and thought for a moment as a small voice resonated in her head. Go have fun for the night. Don’t let what has happened get in the way of you living your life. Live.
A saucy smile came across her face which threw Sango and Miroku off a little.
“Are you two ready for a night of sinful debauchery?”
“Now that’s the Kags I’ve know and love!” Miroku hooted as Sango laughed.
The three of them linked arm in arm as the strolled out of Kagome’s apartment.
They arrive at the Fox Fire a few minutes later. Miroku opened the door of his jet blue Jag to let the girls out.
“Wow.” Kagome murmured in amazement. She scanned the large mass of people waiting in line trying to get in. “Just how did you get us in to this club?” She asked in awe.
“He knows the owners.” Sango replied.
“Kagome, this way.” Miroku motioned for her to follow him and Sango. He led them away from the large crowd that was swarming the entrance.
“Hey, Miroku!” yelled a voice from the VIP entrance way. All three looked up to see the man that was shouting out to Miroku.
Miroku wave a hand up in greeting at the figure at the entrance way. “This way girls.” As he offered both his arms to the women on either side of him. Miroku then directed them to the VIP doorway.
As they drew closer to the individual Kagome got a better look at the man. He was cute. His hair was an auburn color that was spike up in a hip fashion. He was wearing a black suit with a gray button up shirt. His eyes were a haunting blue green that seemed to beckon them, while he’s fangs where sparkling white and his tail was as his side. A youkai, Kagome thought. A fox youkai.
“Kagome? Is that you?” Asked the youkai in a surprised tone.
‘Geez, this guy looks very familiar to me,’ she wondered. “Yes.” She gave him a puzzled look, as she thought, who is this?
“Damn, you just keep getting more beautiful twirp.”
When the word twirp came out of his mouth Kagome launched herself at the man offsetting Miroku. A loud squeal came from her. “Shippou!”
Shippou gave Kagome a big bear hug in response.
Sango and Miroku looked on with a lost expression written on their face. “You know him Kags?”
“Are you kidding,” Shippou responded, “I’ve known this twirp when she was in high school.” He laughed. “We had band together.”
“Oh! That’s great! Here I thought we were going to have to introduce Kagome to you, but from the looks of it, it isn't needed.” Sango said with a laugh as Kags held on to Shippou.
“Hey why don’t you guys join me in the VIP room. Twirp, you and I have some major catching up to do.”
Kagome jab Shippou in the ribs and laugh blissfully. 'Maybe getting out wasn’t such a bad idea after all.'
The group follow Shippou as he guided them inside the club. It was a breath taking sight. It was large enough to room over three hundred people inside comfortably. The décor was a romantic one with a hint of danger. As they walked through Kagome noticed there where black tables in the back of the building what were covered in red sheer table clothes with white candles set in the center lit giving off a warm glow. Past the sitting area was the largest dance floor she had ever seen. Stage fog floated around the floor as white laser lights whirled around the dance floor. It had a large stage that hosted a DJ already spinning tunes to a mass of people dancing.
“Is this yours Shippou?” The disbelief shown on her face as she asked the question.
“I’m wounded. Did you think that I wouldn’t open my dream dance club?” He replied mockingly.
Kagome remembered back to her high school days and talking about what they wanted to do after they graduated. Shippou had always planned opening his own business. But a club? It was a dream of his, that now was a reality.
He led them to a stair case where two bouncers were located. They nodded at Shippou and the others giving them passage. Then Shippou proceded to led them up them to a private room which a over looked the entire bottom floor. Shippou sat them down at a table and began to engage them in conversation.
“Miroku, why didn’t you say Kagome was coming with you?” Shippou asked.
“Well, it was a surprise. She didn’t real know she was coming.”
“Yeah, we practically had to hog tie her and drag her here.” Sango added innocently.
That earned her an indigent look from Kagome.
“Well, I am glad you did come.” Shippou said with a sly grin. “Hey, twirp do you still sing?”
“Um, no. Not, not since high school.” Kagome gave Shippou a questioning look. “Why?”
“Because, tonight we were going to have open mike night.”
Sango and Miroku caught on to Shippou’s obvious hint. They both nodded their heads in agreement. “Yeah Kags.” Miroku said, “You should sing. I’ve heard you. You’ve got a great voice.”
Kagome shook her head no. “There are too many people.”
“What if I went up there with you?” Shippou asked. “And Sango and Miroku can wait off on the side of stage for moral support.” He was giving her what she called in high school “the look,” to get his way.
“No. I can’t.”
“Yes, you can.” he argued.
“Live a little.” Sango countered
The small voice in her head even encourage Kagome. 'Go have fun for the night. Don’t let what has happened get in the way of you living your life. Live.' Those words echoed hauntingly in her mind almost daring her.
“FINE!” she moaned as she conceded. “But only if you two,” she eyed Miruko and Sango cunningly “sing before me.”
