Chapter 6: Woman


Dark leaves and shrubs whizzed by as she ran, the soft thud of her feet coming down on the grassy forest floor along with her breath catching sobs were the only audible thing heard as she kept going...Ran away from him, herself, them. Where, she didn't know. Just away.

She'd quite possibly ruined the best thing she had ever had, crushed it with the final blow of her lips rising to meet his. The one person who'd cared enough if she was living or dead was now behind her, in a sea of emotions she, herself didnt understand. He, who had blessed soley and only her in seeing the softest most vulnerable part of his soul, was now gone. She'd pushed him away because of the stupid decision in not wanting to hold back her emotions...why couldn't she hold back like him?

Her breathing was ragged as she busted through the underbrush, coming to a standstill at the waters edge of a calming pond. The lungs in her chest burned with exaustion, as if she'd swallowed the very coals that warmed their fire at night. Crimson stained the tip of her bottom lip, mixing with the salty tears that ran down her porcilin cheek like a waterfall, making thier final decent into the mirky water at her feet.

Unable to keep her balance any longer, Rin fell to her knees, the throbbing in her legs matching her heartbeat and making her pant, gasping in breaths of air. The young woman dropped her head in a mix of shame and tierdness, finding her knees in the sand of the dark blue water. Past her milky white skin, was her reflextion, staring back with a mocking innocence that made her frown.

Her sorrow and heartache was replaced by a discust...The silky strands of her hair framed her face, that face that was so unlike her true feelings and emotions. Raw, scortching and flairing emotions that consisted of an entirely different person. A person who she knew, now, was taking her over. Who HAD taken her over. Taken that once giggling, bright eyed, cheery little girl she was and twisted her into something she never imagined herself to be. Young Rin, despite her upbringing, knew this new person. She knew who SHE was. As Rin looked into the swaying, almost black water below, its surface brightend by the moons soft glow, she saw what she'd evolved into. A woman.

This new, person, brought a feeling of need that only, she knew, ONLY Sesshomaru could sufice. Only HE could keep this new, raging beast that threatend to consume her heart and soul at bay.Yet in this process of knowing...she knew it could never be. This 'beast' had taken over her mind and from a few moments ago, actions.

How many times had uninnocent thoughts plauged and bombared her mind? So, so many. How many of those were of sulty, wontony feelings? So, so many. How many were of her and her lord?....All.

Bringing a shaky hand up, Rin touched her lips, those lips that had been blessed to so recently touch his. Rembering that blinding heat and mindnumbing sensation, the young woman felt her tears start to receed and become non-existant.

Somehow, despite the fact she knew it would be impossible for him to have her...want her, Rin felt a sense of calmness flood her being. Somehow, even though she knew her lord probably looked at her as being a whore now, Rin felt her racing heart slow. That one kiss, that contact that had lasted mere seconds, somehow had the power to paralize her very mind, heart, and soul.

The taiyoukai's golden gaze went to her hunched over form next to the pond, his body frozen in place. How had it come to this? Sesshomaru was unable to answer his own question, the scent of her tears and anxiety permenting the air around him. The youkai lord had followed her, not knowing why, yet had to fix this...Tell her.

His stoic expression was left in the clearing where she had kissed him, now being replaced by an almost lost look. Taking a step forward, the rustle of his hoari made her snap her head around to see him.

He'd gotten there so fast...And wasn't even breathing hard. How long had he been there?

Swallowing hard, the taiyoukai opened his mouth to speak but found no words at the moment. Her expression held one of shock, yet soon turned into one of fear and humiliation. A pink blush covered her face and she turned away again, her long hair masking her features from his view.

The soft sniffling of her attempt to seem 'unfazed' was heard as she tucked the, now wet, bathing kimono around herself tight. The young womans eyes were downcast staring at the rippling water near her knees.

Sesshomaru stood rooted in place, only able to murmmer what had made her run away.

"...Rin..."

His tone of voice had yet to change when using her name, the low and rough vocalization echoing in her very ears. Ever so slighly, she let her head turn to him, the shift making her hair sway in the breezy air.

Sesshomaru took another step twards her, that ache within his chest increasing when seeing her hazel eyes hestitantly shift to his own. Within them, he found he could almost feel her heartache. A twisting feeling over came him, bringing him to reach down and take her by the arm, slowly helping her up.

The swish of water was heard as she stood, the wet remnants of her tears streaking her cheeks as he let his eyes wander anew over this amazingly beautiful creature.

This creature who had stuck by him, regarless that he was of demon blood. Who'd never judged him or ridiculed him like other humans had, for being 'cold and heartless'. That stoic taiyoukai had yet to exist anymore, for she had single handedly, eliminated it. This marvelous creature, who cared enough to show how much she loved him. That one, caress of a kiss, proved how she loved...How she wanted to be loved.

The silence continued as she looked to him, her fearful hazel eyes glued to him, waiting for something...Anything.

His stronge hand was still wrapped around her small bicept, holding her so she couldn't take off again. The dog demon locked his eyes with her like the night before, but tonight it wasn't out of anger or pride. Sesshomaru, while looking into her swimming pools of emotion, all there because of him...made a final decision.

Rin saw this change in his amber gaze, a now sureness making its way into his stare. A surness she recognized, like when she'd taken that first breath of life after being ressurected and opened her eyes to see the world yet again. HE was her world. That same look of understanding and sympathy that met her when blinking and finding his own amber orbs of emotion. Yet all came down to that one unspoken statment. 'I'm here.'

Her limp arms that were to her sides slid up cold armor on his chest, her gaze never faultering. Yes. He'd come to a decision. She saw it. She understood it. Her hestiant fingers flaired out against the coal black of the hard metal of his chestplate, feeling her heart start to come back together again.

Sesshomaru saw those last remaining tears dissapear, his guilt ebbing away with them. Yes. She knew him well...

The clawed hand that was clutched to her arm, slid to the curve of jawline, its flawless texture finer then the finest silks of Japan, making her shiver and gasp under his touch. Taking that last step, ceiling his promise to the one person before him now, Sesshomaru let his head dip to hers, finishing the kiss, he'd not so long ago stopped.

Warmness engulfed her heart, body and soul, its amazing feeling of completeness more overwhelming then the first time.

Gentle lips came in contact with hers, its velvety touch dissolving everything, thoughts, actions and even the ability to breath away. Rin returned his caress with a burning that had been held back for so long. Letting her eyelids droop closed, mimicing her lord, the young woman was flooded by a contentment, only Sesshomaru could cause.

The taiyoukai was doused, yet again by her remarkably potent scent, its musky female perment calling him, causing him to slowly fall into an abyss of no return.

A warm wetness came to her mouth after a moment, his tongue slowly licking her bottom lip. He savored the taste of her delectable blood and skin, gently pushing past her shut mouth and exploring, what he had drempt for so long. The young woman returned his attentions, her virgin tongue mingling with his own, only hesitantly doing the same.

Letting his warm lick linger along her soft lip one last time, the taiyoukai opened his golden eyes to see her own closed ones. A euphoric, heavenly appearance now covered her face, the angelic glow so much more beautiful then any woman in the history of the world.

Slowly Rin opened her eyes, meeting a warm amber that touched her heart and made her gasp in recognition that...he was here. He would always be here.

Heavily lidded hazel eyes kept on him, a small smile of understanding and love cracking her once solumn pink lips. Her light voice, that only the night before had been screaming at him, broke their silence in a softness that seemed to float to his ears like velvet, saying what was on both their minds...

"...finally."

The taiyoukai couldn't help but let though his releife and joy, the corners of his mouth lifting in a small smirk of his own, as he watched her smile turn into a full fledged grin. This was the Rin he remembered...The Rin he wanted, always.
