Lands Become One
Inutaisho and his soldiers looked about the carnage of the throne room as they had the many other places in and out of the Palace, then looked to the one standing at the throne.
"Lady Tikya you have slain your own father." the great lord stated in confusion. "Why?"
Tikya moved her eyes to the Lord of the West slowly her eyes taking on a darker color.
"I kept my word..." she made her way down the stairs and past Sesshoumaru as if he wasn't even there. Stopping before the great lord she pulled a scroll from her armor and handed it to him. The paper was smeared in her father’s blood.
"The deeds to all this land. It is yours. The wedding will not be held I know that your son did not want it and I will not force him to keep this deal when the one it was made with is dead. Do whatever you wish with the land." she told him picking up her helmet and placing it back on her head pulling the bridal up over her mouth and nose. She sheathed the sword and bowed to him then simply walked away.
Inutaisho quickly turned and called her back to him. Tikya only stopped and turned her head to him slightly.
"Where are you going?" he asked Sesshoumaru now at his side.
"To visit my mother’s tomb..." with that she threw her hand out, green energy like electricity flying from it forming a black and green portal. Her hair blew about with her clothing and she walked in. The portal faded and everyone was left standing dumbfounded. Inutaisho knew then that Tikya was one of the most powerful demons known to him and that right now he was being favored by her. He could tell she came from old blood, farther back then their race of demon.
On her knees before a stone tomb in the light of torches Tikya sat silently with her head low her hands in her lap. The stone tomb was on a grassy hill surrounded by stone pillars with a canapé of carves white stone. In the stone was a scene Tikya remembered. A pond side with a waterfall that broke into a smaller one down below with lotus and cherry blossoms all around while the grass grew tall all around the water other then their spot.
On the clear patch of grass sat a young female demon with her hair long and flowing like the waterfall behind her. Over the tomb grew wild roses and morning glories of many colors. Here they were permanently in bloom and never died. Here there was nothing to disturb this place.
Only Tikya could get to it, with her blood and her mothers power...Tikya could be anywhere in the world and she could reach it.
"I have kept my promise to you mother." Tikya finally started. "I have slain your husband, my father and given the deeds to the territory and land to the great Lord Inutaisho. I waited until the right time as you asked and I have become all I possibly can..."
The wind picked up slightly making her smile sadly, her mother was listening from her grave.
"I miss your presence next to me...your soft comforting touch when I need it and your gentle words, like I use to hear as a pup. It has been so hard since you left but now I think it will get a bit better although missing you will not stop and the ache in my soul will not leave. Watch over me mother...Rest peacefully." she said sadly, tears threatening to fall but she held them back as she stood.
For a while she stood looking at vine covered tomb. The portal opened behind her and she turned as the wind blew gently caressing her skin. A single tear fell from her eyes and fell to the ground bringing up a small cherry tree before the portal closed.
Stepping from the portal into her room at the Western Palace Tikya stood for a moment.
The Palace was Silent. It was early morning, really early, hours before sunrise.
Removing her armor she set it on the chair beside the bed and slipped from her clothes slowly. Reaching up Tikya released her hair from its restraint letting it fall in waves down her back. With her head bowed she stood still in the moonlight of the open window. The visit to her mother’s tomb had brought back to many memories and her mind was plagued with memories, thoughts and images of the past.
Mindlessly she picked up her black silk robe and slipped it on tying it loosely at her waist before tucking her right leg under her as she sat on the edge of her bed.
Her eyes were blank and slightly glazed, a bomb could have gone off next to her and she wouldn’t have budged or blinked.
With her palms up in her lap her eyes slowly moved almost mechanically to the blood on them, dried and coating her skin. Even with the gloves the liquid had made it through to stain her hands.
Drifting to tonight’s events she realized that soon her father’s land would be Inutaisho’s, their lands would be one…she would leave tomorrow to avoid any problems or discomforts.
Now that he had her father’s land there was no use for her anymore. Nor reason to stay in this place.
