The well house

It was in the middle of
the night when he reached the safety of his den again. He took the concealing
spell from the cave entrance and went inside. Ayumi was sleeping in his arms and
he put her gently down on the futon. He removed her kimono and placed her under
the furs. He quickly undressed and got under there with her. He spooned her back
against his chest and he nuzzled her hair, taking in her sweet scent.

♠ The next morning
♠

Ayumi awoke feeling
terrible, something was terrible wrong. She looked around but could not see
Inuyasha anywhere. “Where is he?” she wondered and got up. She put on the
kimono she had used yesterday and went outside to look for her mate. But she
could not see him there either, but she heard an angry female voice.
“Who is that?”

-         

You will follow me to hell!! Yelled the female voice and
Ayumi went down the hill side to see who it belonged to.

What she saw made her
tremble in fear. Inuyasha stood against the mountainside and he had an arrow
sticking out from his arm. “He is hurt!!” her mind screamed and she rushed down
to him.

Inuyasha thought he was
about to die when he saw Ayumi come running towards him.

NO AYUMI, STAY BACK!!
he shouted but she would not
listen.

-         

Inuyasha, you are hurt, said Ayumi.

-         

Who are you bitch? asked the female and raised her bow and
arrow against Ayumi.

-         

I am his mate, that is who I am – who the fuck are you? asked
Ayumi and placed her hands on her hips and looked angrily at the woman who had
dared hurt her mate.

-         

His mate? Oh please Inuyasha, she is but a girl…

-         

Stay out of this Ayumi, begged Inuyasha and groaned when the
pain in his arm got to much for him and he sunk to his knees.

-         

You will follow me to hell Inuyasha!

-         
WHAT??
Are you out of your fucking mind lady? He is not going anywhere and especially
not with you asshole!!

Inuyasha raised a
surprised eyebrow; his mate had some foul language. He could not help it, but he
smiled gently.

-         

My, my Inuyasha, you have gotten yourself a real bitch, said
the woman anred red off her arrow.

-         
AYUMI!!!

Ayumi saw this and felt a
power of some sort and she managed to dodge the arrow.

-         

Excuse you honey, but that was uncalled for, said Ayumi and
pouted and fished up a thick tree branch from the ground. “I have watched
enough base ball games on telly; I think I can manage to cripple this bitch for
life for trying to hurt me and my pup.” She took a firm grip on the branch
and walked over to the bitch who wanted to drag Inuyasha to hell.

What do you think you are doing little girl? smirked the
woman and armed her bow again.

-         

Let’s play ball, said Ayumi with an angelic smile.

She managed to get the
woman confused, and then BAM!!  The woman felt a pain course through her
legs. The little girl had hit her right over her knees, she fell down towards
the earth and she saw the rage in the girl’s eyes.

-         

Try to stand up with no knees lady!! snarled Ayumi and
swinged the branch again and this time she hit the woman right in the face. –
Oops, that is going to leave a mark.

Inuyasha watched as Ayumi
without trouble wiped out Kikyo with a tree branch. He gaped when he saw the
clay body began to dissolve into a pile of pottery. Ayumi shrieked and jumped
back.

-         

Inuyasha, what is happening? I didn’t mean for her to.. I..

-         

It’s ok mate, she was not of this world anyway.

-         

Inuyasha, you are hurt, wait I will pull this thing out of
your arm ok?

Inuyasha doubted she
would be able to release him from Kikyo’s spirit arrow but once again she
surprised him and he was soon freed from his pain. He pulled her into his arms
and hugged her tightly.

-         

Don’t ever do that again Ayumi, you scared the shit out me,
he breathed into her neck.

-         

I am sorry, I just could not let her take you away from me,
cried Ayumi, now letting go of her fears.

-         

You are a true mate love.. ue mue mate who does not fear
anything and fights for what is hers.

She giggled a little bit
embarrassed but kissed him before helping him up to stand on his feet and she
took a firm hold around his waist and helped him get back to the cave.

-         

As soon as I am healed I will take her remains back to where
they belong.

-         

Ok, but not sooner, smiled Ayumi.

-         

Not sooner, I promise love, he kissed her cheek.

Ayumi was again glad that
her mate was no ordinary human, his wounds was healed in two days time and he
was under her gentle care the whole time.

 Two days later they
visited the old granny Kaede. She was glad that her older sister was no longer a
ghost of this world. Under a small ceremony she buried the remains in the ground
near the temple on the hill.

So Inuyasha, you have taken a mate, said Kaede and eyed the
young girl who had defeated her sister and made it possible for her to rest on
sacred ground again.

-         

Yes, this is Ayumi-chan, she is a friend of Kagome, and she
comes from the same place too, said Inuyasha.

-         

Indeed, she has proven herself as mate by protecting you and
her unborn child, said Kaede.

-         

H-how did you know? asked Ayumi and ogled.

-         

My dear child, I may be old, but I am still a miko, and I can
sense the new life within your body, smiled Kaede.

-         

Ohh..

-         

Come let me hear all about this one more time if you please.

They followed the
one-eyed lady to her hut and Inuyasha told her the story about him and Ayumi and
how they met.
