Ch. 5 What you think I would leave Kikyo out?

Kagome stood with her back to Inuyasha, looking down the well with face scarily resembling Sesshomaru’s ice mask. Inuyasha was extremely uncomfortable he didn’t know how he could make this better, and her silence was really beginning to scary him. “Kagome…I” topptopped feeling utterly hopeless.

“No Kagome don’t give up, I mean you just don’t have shards with you…” She stopped him with her hand. She was now looking him strait in the face. Her face told him that she was happy that he cared, but it was hopeless.

“No Inuyasha that’s not right. Remember when you pushed me down the well after taking the jewel shard from me…I made it back home…it’s not the lack of jewel shards that blocks my passage home.”

“But I’m not a holy person and I can get through!” He said desperately.

“Try now, if you can get through tell my family goodbye for me, but I’m pretty sure I know why I can’t get through, and there is no way to fix it” She looked at him with that same ice mask. Why didn’t she cry, she always used to cry. It amazed him how much he wanted to see those shine tears.

“Fine I’ll go” He proclaimed and jumped down the well. He hit the bottom, there was no blue light, no floating and when he looked up he saw the clear blue sky. He didn’t move, stupidly frozen to the bottom.

“Inuyasha come back up here, its useless the well will never open for us again” Her voice was void of sadness, pain, or anger. He jumped up landing in front of her. She slid to the ground, grabbing the front of his haori pulling him down with her. He hides her face in his hair. Her silent tears dampening his neck. They stayed like that until the sun changed the color of the sky. Kagome moved her face back wiping the tears from his neck with the sleeve of her white top (A/N: I’m not sure it it’s also called a Haori). Inuyasha took her long clawed hand in his own, “Kagome, why can’t we get through the well, you said you thought you knew.”

“Ok it’s like this. You now how the jewel could both grant a human a wish, and increase the power of a demon,” he nodded his head in a positive answer, “Well, it seems that I really didn’t want to leave you” she paused to see if he remembered what he’d said to her when they thought she was dieing. Inuyasha’s red shade of skin made her think that he did remember.

She looked up at the golden sky; it glowed against the dark forest. The night time colors made the blush on his face look beautiful to her. She showed her appreciation of his beauty by licking his cheek.

Kagome’s face grew somber, “It hurt...it hurt so bad I was sure I was going to die. I saw you fighting with Kouga and all I could think was I have to tell him one last time. I fought against the pain to stand so I could reach out to you, but the harder I tried to move the more it hurt. I was blind and I heard a roar so loud in my ears the bleed, but I still heard you call for me. I didn’t want to leave you, so I prayed, I prayed to stay alive. I was the cause of all this mess with the Shikon jewel. If I hadn’t shattered the jewel then it is likely that Naraku would never have gotten his hands on it, that old witch wouldn’t have wanted the jewel shards, leaving Kikyo at rest. How could I just give up and die. Thinking these things seemed to give me strength to fight against the pain.” Shesed sed to let it sink in, because the next part might make him angry. “Kaede says that there is a large possibility that the jewel answered my prayer. Miroku told me what it looked like to him, he says my soul was barred to his view. He says the blue light was the miko po the the gray was the invading youki, and the massive pink was the power of the Shikon. He told me that it was huge. He said after he pulled you away the gray started to feed on the pink. The Shikon power inside my body was exactly like the jewel, it could purify the deadliest demon, but it could also give massive amounts of power to demons. So when I preyed I might have actually made a wish and the power of the jewel turned all that stored Shikon power into youki, turning me into a demon” She quieted.

“So the jewel is gone” His voice sounds faintly surprised, but she couldn’t gage if he was surprised angry or surprised happy.

“Well to tell you the truth, the jewels we had burst it to nothing right before the pain stopped and the light of Kouga’s jewels disappeared too” She looked down at the ground.

“You mean it could be over soon, I mean…”He didn’t try to hide his happiness, he pulled her to him in a fierce embrace. “I love you” he whispered in her ear. He licked the length of her pointed ear. Kagome took a big breath trying to take in as much of his scent as she could. She could smell the salt in his sweat mixed with a light touch of fresh soil, a lot of his scent was the scent of the wind through the trees. He smelled so good she took another smell; the wind blew his scent around and brought a new scent on the wind. One that wasn’t so pleasant. She’d learned this scent the first time she had to bury burned bones. She worried about the appearance about that smell. She pulled away from Inuyasha just enough to catch the scent on the wind with out his scent over powering it. She didn’t smell fire, and the bones smelled heavily of dusty clay pot.

Inuyasha watched her scent the air, she looked confused at first. She made the face she makes sometimes when she is studying, but that quickly changed to a very very scary faceKagoKagome…” He lifted his own noise to the air.

Kagome watched the edge of the forest. She felt Inuyasha pull away from her as Kikyo’s soul stealers. She turned to see him walking further away from her. She couldn’t keep the growl down. She tried to fight the anger and she managed until the resurrection spoke, “Inuyasha, what’s happened…I can no longer sense the jewel shards?”

Kagome anger rose extremely, she tried Sesshomaru’s patented ice mask. She schools her face, until she looked calm and superior. Even as her face is calm, she just can’t keep from growling. Kikyo looks directly at Kagome and knocked and arrow in her direction, “Inuyasha you better tell you pet to be silent” Inuyasha’s mouth fell open. He looked helplessly between the two women that he loved.

Kikyo pulled the arrow back further. Inuyasha moves toward Kikyo, “Kikyo…” Kikyo looses the arrow. Kagome runs forward swatting the arrow away from her with one hand busting her bow with her other. Inuyasha is now standing stunned. Kagome grabs Kikyo by the neck. Kikyo grabbed at Kagome’s arm trying to dislodge herself by shooting Kagome with her miko power. Kagome didn’t even flinch; Kikyo’s eyes grow wide and scared. Kikyo manages to chock out parts of Inuyasha’s name. Kagome’s growls grow quit loud. Inuyasha hearing Kikyo’s chocked plea comes to. He comes up behind Kikyo and s hes her around the waist. Kagome’s eyes are now red; she pushes Kikyo so hard she knocks both Kikyo and Inuyasha to the ground.

“If you want this woman to live Inuyasha, then make her leave my scent range and keep her from it” the terrifyingly quiet command sent Inuyasha rushing out of the clearing Kikyo thrown over his shoulder. The clearing sounded like a battlefield behind him. He could feel the shocks of large trees falling to the ground. Kikyo started struggling and demanding to be released. He ran with Kikyo until he was several miles away from his forest, before he put her down. Inuyasha flinched as a wave of angry youki passed over head.

“Ah ha ha, Um Kikyo I think I should go back now…” He turned to leave, but Kikyo stopped him.

“Who is that demon Inuyasha, she seemed to be very familiar with you.”

He turned to her with a serious expression, “That was Kagome.”

Kikyo’s expression became accusing, “What did you do to her”

I didn’t to anything to her bitch, it was that stupid wolf Kouga, he saw when he shouldn’t have and he became desperate to get her from me, he paid the price for his mistake though, so did his elders.” Kikyo didn’t show any emotion on her face, just turned and walked away. “I don’t think it would be a good Idea to approach me anymore when you feel her youki, She still learning how to deal with her instincts.” She didn’t even turn around so he jumped back toward Kagome.

Back in the clearing, Kagome stood at the center of the destruction she’d caused. She was in the middle of tearing the robes on her body to sheds. The black fir lay on the ground. There was only part of her that was covered was her middle. It kinda looked like she was wearing a red loin cloth. Her hair was wild around her, blown by the wind drawn to her anger. Her human companions stood at the edge of the clearing desperately trying to clam her with words. She could smell her lover coming and it fueled her anger, she turned to her humans and screamed, “LEAVE, AND DO NOT INTERFEAR!”

They didn’t move afraid of what she was going to do. This disobedience had her moving to make them move. Inuyasha arrived in the clearing just as she raised her claws at her friends. He rushed up behind her and grabbed her hands attempting to hold her back. A strange smile lit Kagome’s demon featured. “You guys better leave, I promise to get her back to normal” He managed to get out before she turned in his grasp and swung her claws in his face. Several strands of silver hair floated away on the breeze.

“Never mind them Inuyasha, draw your sword” She taunted him. He looked helpless, he backed away watching his friends escaping. “PAY ATTAINTION!!” She ran forward lashing out with her claws. Inuyasha fell to the ground holding his cheek astounded. “Are you going to let a female kill you Inuyasha, stand up and draw you sword…FACE ME HALFBREED!!” She crouched low preparing to strike.

Inuyasha growled low and jumped to his feet. He pulled his Tessiaga, “Fine…I will but only so you’ll SHUT UP BITCH!!!” He charged her sword held to the side with one hand. She ran forward, he swung; she hit the blade so hard it flew out of his hands and landed in the dirt several yards away. She pulled a hair out of her head and it became a blade of pure green energy. When she swung it at him thousands of sharp energy spikes went strait through his body. Her strange smile returned as his eyes went wide. She could smell his youki increase, it intoxicated her. She watched with lust in her eyes as the jagged purple edges strip across his cheeks. She heard him laugh, “You jealous bitch.”

“You know your mine, I plan to show you” she charged forward claws first. Inuyasha moved to the side enough to miss. He swung his own elongated claws at her she ducked under and punched him in the midsections. The both jumped apart and circled each other. Inuyasha raised his claws in the air and brought them down cutting the air and releasing a large amount of gold energy blades. Kagome stood and released her own green whip. She presided to unleash a flurry of blows, even as her body was cut by stray blades. Inuyasha cried out in pain as the whip hit his body melting away the fire rat robes. Her whip held burning miko power; she still retained her miko power. He ran forward smashing her body into a tree. He pinned her body to the tree with his body. He growled fiercely in her face. She smiled like she’d just gotten a car for her birthday.

Kagome looked into the blood red eyes of her enraged lover. It was time to finish this. She leaned forward and licked his cheek clean of blood. The taste of it sent shivers down her spine.
