Standing over him. “What the hell did you think that you were doing, bozou?” Miroku scratched his head and laughed nervously. “Well, you see, I wanted to see if lady Kagome was okay, you see……” “Pervert.” Kagome signed. “Can you understand her yet, Inuyasha?” Miroku asked. “Yes, I can. She just said you’re a hentai.” “Miroku looked offended. “I am not a hentai, my lady.” Kagome just rolled her eyes. “Try again. She’s not buying it, bozou.” Inuyasha said irritably. “Well, at least let me visit.” Miroku pleaded. “Well, that depends on if you’ll keep your damn hands off of her or not.” “Me trust you don’t.” Kagome signed. “What did she say?” “She said she doesn’t trust you.” “Well, please? I DID want to see if she was okay, I heard Naraku had her.” “Fine. Come with us.” Inuyasha carried Kagome bridal style and Miroku followed.
Inuyasha, Kagome and Miroku sat together in the cave, or, well, Kagome sat as far from Miroku as she could. “Okay, if you don’t mind, I’d like to ask her some questions, talk to her.” Miroku said. “Is that okay?” Inuyasha asked her. “If he leave me alone.” Kagome signed. “She said if you leave her alone.” Miroku looked offended again. “I would never.” Kagome and Inuyasha exchanged glances. “So, what’s your name?” Miroku asked. “Kagome.” Inuyasha translated Kagome’s signs. “How old are you, Kagome?” “I’m 15.” “Where are you from?” “A village near here. I live with my mom and little brother.” “How did you come across this dolt?” Miroku asked. Kagome would have laughed if she had the voice. The amusement was written on her face. “He brought me here one day when I was picking herbs. He told me I’m his now.” “Oh, so dog-boy made you his.” Again, Kagome was fully amused. “DAMN IT, I’M RIGHT HERE YA KNOW!” Inuyasha shouted. Miroku laughed and Kagome really really wished she had the voice to laugh. “Can we get back to the conversation and NOT pick on me??” Inuyasha asked. “Okay, okay, don’t get touchy..” Miroku said, still amused. “So, I heard Naraku had you. Is that true?” “Yes. Naraku is my father.” Kagome said. “YOUR FATHER??” “Yes, but I haven’t seen him since I was little.” Kagome confessed. “He didn’t hurt you, did he?” Kagome looked down at the floor. She signed “He raped me.” While Inuyasha interpreted. Inuyasha growled angrily at this, and Miroku looked pissed off. “He did WHAT?” Miroku asked angrily. “He abused me every day and raped me.” “But why would he..” “My father always hated me…because something’s wrong with me.” Kagome said. She still wouldn’t look up. “He loved you once, didn’t he?” Tears ran down Kagome’s cheeks. “Please don’t make me remember him…what he did to me…” Kagome couldn’t sign anymore, her hands were shaking and her sorrow was evident. Inuyasha moved to pick Kagome up, but Kagome flinched away from him. “I…I’m sorry……” Miroku said. Inuyasha looked at Miroku. “Oi, let’s talk outside.” Inuyasha said. Miroku nodded and followed him out. “What is it, Inuyasha?” Miroku asked. “How do I stop her tears? How do I help her?” “Well, first you have to get her to tell you exactly what happened. When she face it, then she can start healing.” “I…I have something to confess, Miroku…” “What is it, my friend? You look troubled.” “Well, you see, I….”
“Inuyasha, you can tell me. I’m your friend. I grew up with you.” “I raped her.” “Inuyasha, tell me from the beginning what happened.” “Well, I….I was in my demon self, and I……I wanted to make her mine….” “I understand, Inuyasha. This means that now you have to basically get her to trust YOU again. Once that happens, we can move onto the healing.” “But, how do I…” “Be there for her. Be a friend. Other than that, try not to make her be in that situation again.” “Arigato, Miroku.” “No problem, Inuyasha.”
That night, Kagome sat at the cave entrance, staring at the stars. Inuyasha called to her. “Oi, what are you doing?” “Want see stars.” Kagome signed. “You wanna go out and see the stars?” Inuyasha asked. Kagome looked at him. “It ok?” “It’s fine. Let’s go.” Inuyasha brought Kagome outside, and he brought her to a waterfall. Kagome admired the scenery, and laid back, staring at the stars. Inuyasha sat with her, and when he looked back at her, he noticed Kagome had fallen asleep.
Inuyasha spent time trying to figure out how he could get her to trust him again. The days passed, and Inuyasha was gentle with her, or tried to be. That was until one fated day.
Kagome was right outside the cave when a demon came fast. Kagome panicked and ran for Inuyasha, but he was out in a flash.The demon looked like Inuyasha, but was taller, and had strange markings.
“Sesshomaru, what the hell do you want?”
“I heard about the new wench of yours. I wanted to see for myself if the rumors are true.”
“Great. Then leave here, now. Before I kill you.”
“Inuyasha, who that?’ KAgome signed.
“That’s Sesshomaru, my older pain-in-the-ass brother.” Inuyasha said angrily.
“So it is true the wench cannot talk.”
“What the hell do you care?”
“You’re pathetic. I bet that I can make the wench talk. You’re all too gentile with the wench.”
“You lay one finger on her, I swear I’ll kick your ass so hard your decendants will be born with the markings from it.”
“Give me the girl or I will kill you.”
“You want her? I’ll kill you before you ever touch her.”
Kagome was helpless when faster than she could register, Sesshomaru grabbed her. “Goodbye, Inuyasha.” Sesshomaru said.
Kagome felt some force within her she never had before. She didn’t ask questions, she let it all out.
“INUYASHA!!!!!” Kagome screamed loud and clear. When that happened, Sesshomaru couldn’t bear to stand holding her anymore. He dropped her, it felt like her whole body was burning. Inuyasha caught the falling Kagome, unaffected by what had hurt Sesshomaru.
“This isn’t over. I will have that wench.” Sesshomaru disappeared.
Inuyasha stood dumbfounded, staring at Kagome, looking at him wide-eyed from his arms.
