Sorry it took me so long to update. I had a couple of sick kids to take care of then I had to catch what they had. Wasn't I lucky. This is the final chapter and I wish to thank everybody that read and reviewed my story. Hope you enjoy it.

Love is A Good Thing

"Kikyou" Kaede watched her walk out of the forest and stand beside Naraku. "Why do ye forsake all that ye stood for while ye were alive by standing with the one that killed ye. Do ye have no more honor?"

Kikyou stood beside Naraku and glared at her sister. "It was Inuyasha's fault that I died. He holds that responsibility alone. He is the one that broke his promises to me. He is the reason I am here." She drew her bow and notched an arrow and pointed it at Inuyasha. "I will not rest till he joins me in hell like he promised."

"Kikyou, I made you that promise when you had me under a spell. Your spell over me is now broken. Broken by your own betrayal. You cherished life when you were alive and now that you are the walking dead you kill for the whim of it. You are no longer meant for this world. You chose your fate. You could have served good but chose to serve evil. That was your choice and this is mine. " He raised Tetsusaiga above his head "Kaze no Kizu"

"Die Inuyasha. I will not accept your words. Today you join me in hell where you belong." Kikyou released her arrow toward Inuyasha.

Inuyasha watched the flames of his attack head toward Kikyou. It dissolved the arrow that Kikyou had fired at him and he watched the flames lick at Kikyou's body turning it to dust. He watched the captured souls float toward the sky and saw a blue orb float to Kagome. "I hope you can now rest in peace Kikyou." He turned to watch Naraku now. He had erected a barrier to protect himself from the Kaze no Kizu. He turned toward the rest of the group and watched them take on defensive stands. Now it was time for the real battle to begin.

Kagome felt her soul reunite with her body and collapsed on the ground beside her mate. She felt Sesshoumaru's worry for her. "Don't worry Sessh. I will be fine in a minute." She whispered so he could hear her.

Sesshoumaru watched his mate fall to the ground and went to rush to her side but her voice stopped him.

"The battle hasn't even started yet and you collapse miko. I thought you were stronger than that. No need to worry after I defeat your friends and mate I will take you to my castle to recuperate. After we retrieve our pups. I will so enjoy raising them with you by my side." Naraku raised his hand and released his demons on the shard hunting group.

"You will never touch my mate or our pups." Sesshoumaru growled and charged toward Naraku but came to a stop when he was faced with a puppet. He sliced at it and had to dodge the tentacles that it tried to stab him with. He soon beat the puppet and ground the remains of the puppet into the dirt with his foot. He charged toward Naraku again but the hanyou threw another puppet in his path. As he fought this one he glanced around at the others of his group. Kagome was firing her arrows into the hoard of demons attacking the group. Miroku unable to use his wind tunnel was throwing sacred scrolls and using his staff to attack any that Kagome, Kagura, and Ah Un missed. He was doing a fine job of protecting Kagome. Inuyasha was stuck fighting a puppet like he was. Kohaku helped the monk, He saw the wolf demon followed by his pack take up fighting infant of Kagome. Bishamon protected who ever needed him at the moment. He was a great help to the monk and young demon slayer.

"Hey dog breath Naraku is mine. Its my responsibility to kill him and your not going to stop me now." Kouga jumped over Inuyasha and the puppet he was fighting and started attacking Naraku.

"If you didn't have my shards in you legs wolf you wouldn't have even been able to get close to me. But since you are here why don't you just hand the shards over to me now and save yourself a lot of pain later." Naraku sent his tentacles to the wolf.

"You have to do better than that Naraku." Kouga sliced the tentacles that came at him and dodged the ones he couldn't hit. he rushed Naraku and sliced the hanyou's arm.

Kagome watched Kouga attacking Naraku. The others unable to reach the hanyou because the hoard that he had released and the puppets he kept making. The hoard was thinning out but they were still unable to get close to the hanyou. "Kouga get the shards from him they are in his chest." She watched as Kouga nodded his head slightly to acknowledge that he heard her.

Kouga dodged a tentacle heading toward him and using the shards in his legs to race too Naraku. He stuck his claws in the hanyou's chest and drew out the shards and raced away from the hanyou before he knew what happened to him. He ran to Kagome and handed her the shards and rushed back to battle Naraku.

Kagome held the small ball of shards in her hands and watched as she purified it and then merged it with the one she had. The jewel started pulsing and she heard Kouga cry out in pain. She looked up and saw the shards from his legs heading toward her. When Kouga's shards joined the jewel it started glowing and Kagome felt herself float toward the sky. When she was above the forest she stopped in midair and started glowing. She watched the battle below her come to a standstill. Time had frozen. Kouga was down because the shards had ripped open his legs and Kagome saw a tentacle headed for him. Sesshoumaru had the puppet at his mercy and Toukijin ready to lop off the puppets head. Inuyasha had Tetsusaiga raised for his Kaze no Kizu. Miroku's staff was poised to strike a demon beside him to protect Kohaku. Bishamon's sword was cleaving two demons in half beside Miroku. Kagura was froze on her feather, Ah Un lightning was ready to strike the demons that were infant of Kagome. Most of the group had small wounds but none that stopped them from continuing fighting. She watched as the jewel floated above her opened palms. It started to spin and as she watched it spun quicker and quicker. It started pulsing and glowing until the whole field was covered in bright light.

"Protector of the jewel we offer this service to you."

Kagome watched the jewel fly from her hand around the clearing. As it reached the demons that Naraku released they disappeared. As she watched the jewel closer she noticed that it was sucking up the demons. After all the demons were gone the jewel returned to her palms and glowed a bright purple. She could hear the demons in the jewel cry out as she purified the jewel. "Thank you."

"It is the least I could do for you child. Now it is up to you to protect us once again. At least until the jewel is no more." The jewel pulsed once more and then settled in Kagome's hand.

Kagome felt herself being lowered to the ground. She closed her hand around the jewel and settled down on the grass of the clearing. She watched all her friends start moving once again. Sesshoumaru started spinning when he finished his attack on a demon that was no longer there and Inuyasha fell to the ground unable to complete his attack because the wind scar was no longer present. Kagome just laughed as her friends looked around the clearing for some sign of the demons they had been fighting.

Sesshoumaru swung his sword to finish off the puppet but the thing was no longer there. He started spinning from the force of his attack when his sword didn't meet the flesh it was suppose too. He stopped spinning and looked around the clearing. He didn't see any of Naraku's demons or the hanyou himself. The hanyou would not escape him, not this time. He growled and started toward the area he had last saw the hanyou in. He stopped when he heard his mate laughing. How could she laugh. The hanyou had threatened her pups and herself and she is laughing. He turned to Kagome and found her sitting on the ground laughing. Yes she was still different. No amount of demon blood could rid her of that curse. He went to her side. "Kagome why are you laughing?"

Kagome looked into the serious face of her mate and started laughing harder. Once she settled down enough to talk she looked up at Sesshoumaru again. "I am sorry Sessh but it was so funny watching Inuyasha falling to the ground and everyone else start spinning attacking the air around them. I just had to laugh."

Everyone had gathered around Kagome. They were still on edge. None but Kagome had saw what happened to the demons they had been fighting. Kagome heard many of the fighters talking amongst themselves. "Were did all the demons go?"

Kagome stood and held the jewel out in front of her. "They are now in the jewel. They will be destroyed with it." Kagome held the jewel to her chest and closed her eyes. "Keeper of the jewel I wish for Midoriko to be free from her battle and the jewel to never be seen again." Kagome watched as the jewel pulsed and a blue light erupted from the jewel.

"Lady Kagome thank you for releasing me from my eternal battle. Your wish has been granted." Midoriko bowed to Kagome then turned into a blue orb and floated heavenward.

Kagome felt the jewel pulse again and then with a bright light it turned to dust.
She tilted her hands and let the dust blow away from her. Then she turned to her mate and collapsed in his arms. "Sessh I want my pups."

"I will take you too them now." Sesshoumaru held his mate to his chest being careful not to harm her with his armor. "We should all return to the village." He rose into the air and headed to the village. After his mate regained her strength they would head to their castle. They had been gone long enough.

Sango waited silently. She hated not being in the battle but she knew her sister and brother would make sure Miroku would return to her. Kagome's pups were settled in a basket beside her. They were so cute. Shippou, Rin and Kanna watched over them. At the slightest noise from the basket the three would come running. At least Kagome would have plenty of help with them. She rubbed her hand over her own stomach. This was one time that she wished she was a demon. Then she wouldn't have to wait nine months for her pups. She felt someone infant of her but she couldn't see anyone. She grabbed the basket from beside her and stood up. She made sure not to harm the pups but she would protect them from what ever was here.

Benten heard the slayers thoughts. She walked infant of her and watched as she guarded Kagome's pups like they were her own. Even if she didn't know what she was guarding them from. Benten released her invisibility spell and let the slayer see her. "I heard your wish slayer. I can make it happen if that is your wish." She saw the slayer back away from her.

"What wish? I didn't make no wish." Sango looked at the beautiful lady in front of her. "Who are you?"

Benten smiled at the slayer. "Your wish to be a demon. I can grant your wish but you must tell me what kind of demon first and I am known as Benten." Benten walked closer to the slayer.

"I didn't mean that wish. Why would you grant me a wish like that?" Sango looked warily at the lady in front of her.

"I mean you no harm slayer or any to the pups. Why would I harm what I have protected for so long." Benten stopped walking toward Sango she was afraid the girl would fall and hurt the pups.

"I couldn't become a demon and watch my Miroku and brother die as they aged and I did not." Sango stopped backing away from lady when she stopped moving toward her and the pups.

"For you I can change them also. That way your friends will not have to watch you all die." Benten saw the hope in the slayers eyes,

"I will allow this but you must ask Miroku and Kohaku what they wish before changing them also." Sango set the basket down beside her and turned to face the lady. "I am ready."

Benten walked to the girl and removed the powder from her belt and sprinkled it on Sango. She placed her palms towards the girl and released her magic. She watched the girl change into a neko demoness. The girl had chosen well. She would make a good neko demoness. She waited till the girl woke up again then disappeared.

Sango woke up and watched the lady disappear. She sat up and watched the children start moving again. The children turned to look at her she saw Shippou and Rin run toward her. They didn't look happy.

Shippou ran to his brothers and sisters. He would protect them from the neko youkai. "Get away from my brothers and sisters demon." He snapped his top at the demon trying to get it away from the basket but the demon just stayed put.

"Shippou its me Sango. Rin stop right now." She yelled at the pups she had to do something before they hurt Kagome's new pups. She watched them both slide to a stop. Their mouths were hanging open and they looked so cute. Well at least they weren't attacking her anymore. " She grabbed both pups up by their tails and brought them to her chest for a hug. "A lady came and turned me into a demon."

Back with Benten

Benten watched the neko youkai fly over her. "Kirara I need to talk to your passengers. Could you please land here?" She watched the neko youkai land before her a shocked monk and slayer on her back. "Do not fear I mean you no harm. I have just came to ask you a question."

Miroku got off Kirara and Kohaku stood beside him. Miroku stared at the beautiful lady in front of him. He knelt in front of her "Would you do me the honor of bearing my children?"

Benten had expected something like that from the monk. "You had better hope that I don't inform Sango of our meeting monk or you will not be moving for weeks. Now Sango sent me here to discuss my turning you two into demons. Sango wished it for herself and I granted her wish. She informed me that it was up to you two rather or not you chose to or not. I await your decisions." Benten watched the surprise on the boys face and the shock on the monks.

"Are you saying that my Sango is now a demon?" Miroku glared at the lady.

"I am monk now my time is growing short I will have your answer now." Benten smiled at the boy when he nodded yes and walked over and with her powder changed him to match his sister. After she was done with the boy she turned to the monk and he nodded also. She changed him into a neko youkai and when they awoke again she disappeared. This has been a busy day. I need a vacation after all this.

Miroku helped a still fuzzy Kohaku back onto Kirara "Kirara we need to hurry to the village."

Kirara waited for Miroku to climb on then took off for the village again. "Ok Miroku. I will do my best to get you and Kohaku there quickly." She had to dive down and catch Miroku when he fell off her back. She got him back on her back. "Miroku I suggest that you hold on better than that this time."

"You can talk Kirara?" Miroku looked down at the neko youkai in wonder.

"I could always talk Miroku but now that you are a neko youkai you can understand me." Kirara spotted the village and flew lower and landed beside Kaede's hut.

Everyone turned as Kirara landed and spotted the new Kohaku and Miroku on her back. They weren't too shocked after what Sango had told them a little while ago but it would take some getting use to.

Kaede faced the weary group. "The village is holding a victory festival for us tonight to celebrate the death of Naraku. I suggest everyone gets some rest before tonight." She turned and entered her hut.

The group broke up and Kagome grabbed the basket with her pups and watched as Sesshoumaru grabbed Rin and Shippou. After everyone was together they entered the clearing with the well. They would rest here till later. She nursed her pups and Sesshoumaru stood guard. Shippou and Rin curled up with the pups after they were done nursing and fell asleep with them. Using their tails to keep the pups warm. Kagome went and sat beside Sesshoumaru. "I am so glad that Naraku is no more. But in a way I suppose I should have told him thank you before I destroyed him."

"Why would you tell the hanyou thank you for?" Sesshoumaru frowned at his mate.

"Because if it wasn't for him we might not have gotten together. And I am so thankful that we did. I love you Sesshoumaru and with you at my side I know that we can conquer anything." Kagome laid her head down on Sesshoumaru's shoulder.

"I love you to Kagome. Without you I would still be the frozen ice lord that everyone feared. I like many youkai felt that love was just a human emotion but you have taught me the full meaning of Love and it is stronger than anything I have ever known. I no longer think that it makes you weak. It makes you stronger. It gives you peace. I love you Kagome and I always will." Sesshoumaru lowered his head and kissed his mate softly then leaned back against the tree as she fell asleep. Kagome was right love is a good thing. He put a barrier up around the clearing to protect his mate and pups then joined them in sleep.


epilogue

Sesshoumaru invited everyone back to his castle to live and everyone agreed. Kagome was happy to have her family and friends around her now. Sango had given birth to two kittens. She named one Souta after Kagome's brother and the other Isano after her own mother. Kagura had three pups and they were all full youkai. One even had Inuyasha's ears but with Kagura's black hair. They had two girls and one boy. Inuyasha had wanted to name one of the girls Kikyou but after Kagura threatened to have Kaede place another necklace on him for her he relented. Kagura named them Keina, Kanami and Izuho. Kagome took pity on Jaken and found a couple of nannies for all the children. Now Jaken was able to do what he did best and that was to aggravate Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru got tired of his whining and searched far and wide but managed to find a female imp and everyone enjoyed watching her getting the best of Jaken. The two refused to let each other know how they felt about each other but Kagome, Sango, and Kagura helped Juria bring the imp around. They were now mated and Juria was expecting her fist baby soon. Everyone was hoping that it didn't take after it's father. Kohaku, Shippou, Rin and Kanna were still too young to mate but their time would come. Till then everyone just enjoyed letting them be children. They would grow up soon enough. Kagome was waiting patiently till it was time to meet her family again. Now that her friends and her mate were with her she knew that she would meet them again.


Benten, Aizen and Gekka agreed to watch over the group when ever they could but first they were going on a vacation.
