Long into the night, Jakotsu tossed and turned on his bed; his sleep haunted by nightmares. One after another they had come; nightmares about the men and what they had done, about the first man who had taken from him against his will, about his last night in the orphanage. Only this time, instead of being told to leave as he had in the real world, he was imprisoned in the cellar and the men had showed up there, 'buying' him for the night.
The men in his dreams were far crueler than he could remember anyone ever being to him in the waking world and he breathed a sigh of relief when he finally sat up in bed; the cold sweat he was suffering from the only reminder of what had haunted his sleep. Desiring the presence of someone else, Jakotsu turned toward Bankotsu's bed to see if he was awake and in the mood to talk, only to find it empty and unslept in.
Confused by his lack of return, Jakotsu glanced out the window behind him to find the sun would soon be rising. The entire night had passed and Bankotsu had not come to their room to rest and since everyone else had gone to bed many, many hours ago, he couldn't imagine he was still out talking to others in search of another clue.
It was then that the truth became obvious to Jakotsu; he had been abandoned once again. No warning, no reason; just waking up to find they were gone. It was starting to become the story of his life, but Jakotsu had thought, had hoped he was passed it. He thought of sure when Bankotsu left they would at least get the chance to say goodbye. Once again Jakotsu found he had misjudged someone, misjudged his importance to them.
At any other point in time, he knew it would not have mattered so much; he was used to it after all. But this morning was the absolute worst time for him to be left behind. After what had happened and the nightmares that followed, he needed a friend to talk to, someone to find comfort in, someone just to hold him. But once again, Jakotsu was left wanting.
Realizing for the first time, since his mother had abandoned him, that he actually cared that he was completely alone, that he was unwanted, Jakotsu did the only think he could think of to do at that moment; he curled back up on his bed and softly cried himself to sleep. In his dreams, he once again couldn't find peace as the nightmares returned in full force.
This time instead of Bankotsu being held at gun point, unable to do anything to help him when the men attacked, he just shook his head before turning his back on Jakotsu when he needed him the most. Unknown to either of them, Jakotsu began tossing and turning in his sleep once more. Only this time, he cried out Bankotsu's name.
