Disclaimer:
I do not own InuYasha, nor make money from this story.
All is known...or is it?
The only thing I own is this DICK…hahahahahahaHA
Writer’s note: I changed from second person’s perspective to third. You have been warned.
He was stretched out on the soft grass staring off into the sky, arms behind his head, legs crossed, tail wrapped smugly around his waist. As the large feathery clouds rolled overhead no thought came to mind. He just stared into space, blankly. The strange events that happen yesterday did not cross his mind or what had happen over the past week. For the most part he was content with having no thoughts. It was a whole lot simpler.
His two companions Ginta and Hakkaku stared at their prince curiously. He had been missing for nearly two weeks and then decided to pop up last night and stretched out on the ground where he staid. Kouga stared up into the sky, but it seemed as if his mind was somewhere else, beyond their reach.
Ginta snorted, he probably went chasing after Inuyasha’s miko again. There were plenty bitches in his own pack and in neighboring packs to be worried about some human. But Ginta as well as Hakkaku knew it was a lost cause, once Kouga set his mind on it, he would never be detoured.
Kouga could feel his companion’s questioning stares; it finally broke him out of his reprieve, which angered him. He at least wanted two more hours in the peaceful state before he had to deal with anyone. But they had a right to hassle him; he had gone missing for nearly two weeks, a week and a half to be precise. He exhaled heavily, would they believe him if he told them what happened?
No, they probably think he went chasing after Kagome again, which was slightly true.
Kagome.
He couldn’t even think about Kagome without thinking about her.
“Hurry up and spite it out,” Kouga demanded in irritation.
Hakkaku got up from his seat and settled himself by his leader. He didn’t know how to start the conversation, Kouga didn’t sound like he was in a goodd. Wd. What should he say, 'whapt ypt you, chasing that bitch, Kagome, again?' No, that would not work; probably make him angrier. He could say…no that definitely would get his tongue ripped out. Hakkaku sighed, there was nothing he could say that would not bring the prince’s wrath upon him.
“Where have you been?” Ginta red med much to Hakkaku’s relief. “You have worried the pack with your long absences. Surely you were not chasing Kagome for so long before—”
Kouga’s growl cut him off, “Give me some definite of the doubt here. For the past week and a half I have been through pure hell—”
“Tell us what happened?” Hakkaku asked his voice filled with concern.
Kouga sighed, were would he began? Should he start by saying he had gone off to track down Inuyasha’s group and went unsuccessful for two days? How on the third day he decided to rest and found that accursed cave in the northeast forest range. The cave had seemed to call to him, beckoning him into the void of darkness that lay within. Should he tell them how it frightened him and how he fled from it like a withwith his tail between his legs? He had continued his search and on the fourth day rested on a mystic meadow, dreaming of that very cave. Should he tell them he felt someone following him, but always remain illusive, sparking his curiuosity to find them? How he was lead right back to that accursed cave, finding her standing at the entrance…
Ginta and Hakkaku grew nervous when Kouga remained silent, staring intensely into the sky. Whatever had happened had affected their prince greatly. Kouga was an easygoing, optimistic, and humorous demon at heart, anything that could alter his personality had to be serious. The fact that he did not confide in them yet made them uneasy with lighrbidrbidding. They just hope it had nothing to do with Inuyasha or Kagome for that matter.
“Is it that troublesome that you cannot confide in us,” Hakkaku said softly staring into the sky himself.
Kouga sighed again, turning to his companion. He didn’t notice his rich locks fell from his right shoulder, revealing something he wished to keep hidden. And just then Ginta’s eyes fell upon the most horrific sight he had ever seen. There upon his prince’s neck and part of his shoulder was the mark. Not just any mark, but the forbidden mark of the dragon, dark and bold, shivering along his tan skin. Ginta mouth fell open, he wanted to scream his horror, but couldn’t, his voice seem to catch when he tried. Fear consumed him, making his heart pound within his ears and his blood run cold.
Both Hakkaku and Kouga smelt Ginta’s sudden fear and felt the tension in his body. They looked towards him, confused by his pale completion, horror struck face, and wide eyes. “Wh “What is it, Ginta!?” Kouga asked sharply, snapping his companion out his daze. It was only when Kouga looked closely at Ginta did he realize his companion's glare transfixed on his neck. Sub-consciously Kouga reached up and covered the mark with his right hand.
Ginta shot to his feet, pointing an accusing finger, “You have the forbidden mark!?”
“What?” Hakkaku questioned skeptically. Before Kouga could react his other companion turned him around and ripped his hand away from his neck. Hakkaku gasped and scooted back as if Kouga was the plague. “It’s true!”
“How could you form such a pact with Inuyasha’s bitch?” Ginta practically screamed like female in distress. “Kouga surely—”
He didn’t get to finish, within seconds he was pinned to the ground, Kouga right hand wrapped around his neck, claws digging into his skin. Kouga looked down right murderous, his eyes taunted with scarlet. Thick tension crackled around them, making the air suffocating with evil discontent. They stared at each other for what seemed like eternity before Kouga decided to speak.
“Do you think I am that stupid?” his voice was no higher then a mere whisper, but lanced with loathing he only reserved for enemies. “To make a forbidden bond with a human means death, death to me and my pack.” His eyes narrowed dangerously. “Do you think me that selfish?” Ginta shook his head no, unable to speak. “ I will let it slide this time. But if you ever assume something like that about me again I will not hesitate to kill you.”
He slammed Ginta’s head into the ground for emphasis as he got to his feet. Kouga straighten his person as he turned his dangerous stared towards Hakkaku, whom fidget nervously from foot to foot, not knowing what to do, and definitely not trying to bring Kouga’s wrath upon him as Ginta did.
“Then whom did you form the pact with?” Hakkaku said evenly.
Kouga sighed, all anger seeming to vanish, “Alica.”
