Night Terrors

A/A: Sorry this chapter took so long minna, Ive been busy finishing my other fic Kitsune tails. Now this fic is my main priority. Im still going to have to edit my other fic though, I read it over and I realized my grammer really really sucks. Any way onto the next chapter!

Inu yasha dove into the water, but even with his hanyou speed he knew lodgicly there was no way he could reach her in time.
"KAGOME!" he shouted right before she prepared herself for the impact that didnt come.
The figure simply landed in the shallow water and lept off one of the rocks that would have killed the both of them if it hadnt. It sailed across the top of the water as if it had wings while it clutched Kagome to its chest. As it flew away from the shallow water, it collided with Inu yasha as he ran tword Kagome. The figure dropped Kagome next to Inu yasha, he immediatly scooped her up in his arms, the shock of almost lossing her still fresh in his mind.It was when the figure backed away from them that Inu yasha got a good look at ir shr should I say her. Standing before him was a cat demon, one that at a distance my have been mistaken for a human girl, but upclose there were certain features that gave her away. She had light brown skin that seemed to be coverd in light brown fur, she had a tiger stripped tail that swayed to and fro. She was wearing a green kimono with white flowers on it. Her long blonde hair was slinged back in a loss pony tail held up by a green tie. Her black tipped cat ears and the single black stripe on her cheek were clearly visible when you were up close. Her golden yellow eyes staired at him briefly before roling into the back of her head as she fainted into the cold black water. Kagome struggeld to get free from Inu yashas grip only to be set softly to the side as he proceded in hoisting the cat demon onto his shoulder. Kagome was in shock, it wasnt normal for Inu yasha to be so kind to others, but then again she was the one to save her from falling right?

Inu yasha and Kagome had returned to camp, and were now getting everything ready for the night to come. Kagome had wrapped the cat demon in her sleeping bag in an attempt to compfort her. It was after night fall when Kagome had went to fetch some water that the demon rose. She sat up immediatly, panting heavily, her rapid heart beat was ringing in Inu yasha's ears. The strong scent of fear coming off of her was almost enough to make Inu yasha gag. Her yellow eyes searched the area, her ears twitched with alertness.
" Dont be afraid no one here is going to hurt you..." Inuyasha said in a some what caring voice.
"THATS WHAT YOU THINK!" the cat demon yelled in a panicked voice.
"What are you waiting for! Light the fire quick before its to late!" she pleaded
" What are you......"" Inu yasha was cut off by a histerical cat clinging to his kimono.
"Please! I'll answer all your questions just hurry up and light the damn fire!!!" she cried the fear mixed with the scent of salt from her tears, was begining to make him dizzy.
It was then that Inu yasha's ears picked up a low clicking sound. The sound became louder and faster as the source seemed to be getting closer...
"HURRY!!!!" the cat shouted. Inu yasha wasnt sure why she was acting this way. From the way she was clinging to him he doubted she was scared of him, and he couldnt pick up the scent of another youkai. Could it be possible that she was afraid of the dark? The clicking sound came closer until it was almost upon them. It was when Inu yasha finaly managed to ignite the fire that he caught a glimpse of what terrified the girl next to him so.
It stood there, a tall dark faceless figure crouched on all fours. It screamed a inhuman scream before retreating back into the shadows. It had been so close that it could have touched them if it had gone a few more steps.
"What the hell was that!" Inu yasha screamed a bit taken back by the creature, if you could even call it that, that had stood before them. As he began to unsheath tetsuiga, she stopped him.
"Dont even bother....... They arent affected by weapons." she said with a calming sigh.
"Who are they!?" he said furious that she had stopped him from attacking.
"They are " she responded as she pointed into the darkness. Inu yasha rolled his eyes, that was not the response he wanted. He began to ask again but was interupted by her own question.
"Where is your mate?!" she asked with a panicked tone, the scent of fear once again rising from her. Obviosly she ment Kagome. OH SHIT KAGOME! Reality hit him like a smack in the face, she was alone out there unprotected.
"Fuck!" He yelled before running off into the darkness, creature or not Kagome came first.
"WAIT!" the cat demon shouted but it was to late, he was gone. She sighed."May the gods be on their side." she prayed.

Kagome kneeled by the waters edge to fill her bucket with water. The darkness of the surrounding woods was begining to make her nervouse. She was half way done when she heard the clicking noise from the shadows. She squinted her eyes in an attempt to see what lay beyond the shadows but to no avail.
"Inu yasha?" She whispered into the darkness. It was then that the source of the noise seemed to multiply. When no one answerd she began to feel around for the object she hadughtught with her. Her hand surveyed the ground several times before landing on her preciose flashlight. She clicked it on hurriedly, she looked around the clearing.The small beam of light it emited appeared to be swallowed by the darkness. She felt as though her heart was going to explode in her chest. Though she could see no one she was certain she was not alone. A sudden loud growl caused her to drop her flash light. When she reached for it, several arms wrapped around her, but there was nothing compforting about them.
She screamed and creid and kicked as the arms began to cut at her flesh as they dragged her into the darkness. She grabbed ahold of a small tree trunk and held on for dear life. Flashbacks of her child hood came back to her as she clung to the base of the tree. Memories of being dragged under the bed, memories of pain, lots of pain, and also memories of no one believing her. How she had forgotten that terrible night she my never know. But she did know that if she wanted to live she needed to get to that flashlight. Searing pain filled her as they sank their claws deep withen her skin and began to pull harder. Surley if she tried to reach her flash light with one hand they would over power her and she would be dragged back to their world. A world where no one could hear her scream, and Inu yasha couldnt save her.
