The Wolf-Demon Maid
Chapter five: The Wolf-Demon Maid
Ayame stared at the palace before her. "Whooooaaa!"
She blink a few times, "Just... wow..."
This place was amazing! Tall white, stone walls surrounded the huge, elegant palace. She could see tall trees inside the palace walls too. The gate was HUGE and made of black iron. Pretty much everything was gigantic and over done. Ayame strolled up to the gate, her wolves tagging behind her. "State your name and business!", shouted a voice from the tower next to the gate.
Ayame peered up at him, a demon? Interesting, apparently this was a demon kingdom. Joikin had failed to mention that one. "My name is Ayame, I'm here to negotiate the territory of the wolf camp to the east."
The demon peered down at her, she frowned, he was a Dog-Demon. "Well aren't you a pretty little thing? You may pass, as long as your pet vermin stay behind."
This was not a day to be messing with Ayame. The demon jump back in surprise when her leaf, ninja star hit the wall beside him. "They stay with me. Let me in."
He gulped looking doubtful, until another guard came up and whispered something to him. The Dog-Demon's eyes widen as he tried to look closer at her. "I see. You may pass.", he bowed, backing away.
What a strange thing to do, considering he had just called her wolves 'vermin'.
The gates began to open. She shrugged and walked in. On passing, she asked one of the guards where she might be able to speak to the Lord of the castle. He gave her an odd look, his eyes mostly on her neck. 'He must smell that I'm mated too... why is everyone making such a huge deal about it though? People get mated all the time.'
"Uh, yea. Just head right through those doors", he pointed to some pretty GIGANTIC doors, "And take a left, go up the stairs, go straight, take your second right then the third door on your right is his office.... My Lady."
Ayame raised her eyebrow, 'My lady? This was an extremely polite kingdom', Ayame thought to herself.
The guard stared at her, with almost a... frightened look on his face? "Uhh, My Lady, did you get that?"
"Yup. Go through those doors, left, up stairs, straight, second right, third door on right."
He nodded, then bowed low to her. 'Alright then...' Ayame walked away from the strange guard.
Following the directions, she made her way through this giant, magnificent palace. She admired the amazing sculptures and paintings that decorated the hall. What she wouldn't give to live here! She laughed quietly to herself. She reached the door the guard had directed her to. It was a simple oak door, but you could tell it was carved by a handyman with many years of experience. Shaking off any nervous feelings, she knocked on the door. "Yes." Came a curt voice from inside. She pointed for her wolves to stay, then turned the handle on the door.
Ayame furrowed her brows in thought, that voice sounded awfully familiar... Opening the door slowly, she peered inside. She didn't see anyone. Stepping inside she looked around the giant, well furnished office. She walked towards the desk, did she imagine someone inviting her inside? The door slammed behind her, making her jump. Spinning she stared at the person by the door. Ayame didn't think her eyes could go any wider. Why did this keep happening to her? She sighed, "Sesshomaru."
Lord Sesshomaru smiled, it was the first time she had ever seen him have any other expression then apathy. Sure the smile was an evil smile, but even that smile made him look even more drop dead gorgeous. "Ayame."
A shiver went down her spine, the way he said her name in that clear, sexy voice. Man did she want to jump his bones!! Maybe this was the mark on her neck talking. "I suppose you're Lord of this palace. How wonderful."
Sesshomaru moved around her and sat down at his desk. "As you can see. Yes. You have come to accept that fact you are This Sesshomaru's mate?"
She grimaced. "No. I've come to discuss the subject of your farmers using the land that belongs to the wolf pack, east of here."
"Really."
"Yes. Really."
"Are you their pack leader?" Sesshomaru questioned.
"No..."
"Then why do you speak for them?"
Ayame narrowed her eyes, "You're asking the wrong questions. This really isn't any of your business. I am their spokes-person and the wolf pack east of here wants those farmers OFF their territory."
Sesshomaru watched her silently, in thought. Ayame crossed her arms. 'Why did he have to be so... mysterious?!', she seethed.
"This Sesshomaru has taken your request into consideration and has thought it over. You're wolf pack will get their land back, and will be left alone."
Ayame blinked a few times, cleaning out her left ear with her pinkie finger. 'Did he just say what I think he said?'
Sesshomaru continued, "But there is one condition, you will live in the palace and work as a maid."
'Yea. Figures there would be a catch', Ayame thought. "You know what? Forget it. I'm out of here."
Ayame headed for the door and pulled on the handle. "If you refuse. The wolf pack will be destroyed. Every. Single. One. Of. Them."
Ayame closed her eyes, she felt a twitch in her forehead. She didn't doubt a word he said. Ayame couldn't be responsible for all those deaths. She turned back around, with a bright and cheery smile, fake as shit, "When do I start, BOSS?"
A smirk slowly spread over his face. "Right now. Underneath my desk is dirty."
Ayame's jaw dropped, "You can't be serious!"
Sesshomaru looked extremely serious. It was one of his many talents. "Alright... but if you touch me at all... I don't care WHO you are. You're loosing a precious limp."
Sesshomaru sat back in his chair, waiting. "What do you want me to clean it with?", she asked.
Sesshomaru eyed her skirt. 'Oh no sir, fuck you.' she thought. Removing her cloak instead of her skirt as she walked toward him. She'd have to wash her cloak after this. No telling how dirty it was under there. Sesshomaru moved his chair back. His golden eyes watching her intently. Ayame grumbled as she crawled under his desk. She began to dust her cloak around, it sure was dusty under there! She sneezed. "Ugh..."
She rubbed her nose, then wiped the surface underneath the desk clean. Thankfully, Sesshomaru kept his hands to himself. She scooted backwards once she was done, looking behind her. Sesshomaru was staring right at her ass. Ayame scooted backwards faster, standing and pulling her skirt down from where it had rode up. "Get a good show?" she huffed.
Sesshomaru looks steadily at Ayame with his brilliant golden eyes. "Yes."
She glared at him, stomping away. "If I'm going to be staying here, I'll need a room. Now that I've cleaned under your filthy desk, I would like to be showed to my room."
Sesshomaru raised a brow, "And who are you to make these requests?"
"You're mate."
"Until you share my bed, completing the mating process, you are just a maid and you mean nothing to me."
Ayame crossed her arms, turning away, "I would never lay with you, Sesshomaru."
Suddenly Sesshomaru was behind her. He gently tucked a stray hair behind her ear and whispered. "You will address 'This' Sesshomaru as 'Lord Sesshomaru', or you will be punished, by I personally."
Ayame wasn't dumb. She knew where her pride stopped. Being punished because she wouldn't call him 'Lord Sesshomaru' would kill her pride more then calling him by the name he requested. "Yes, 'Lord' Sesshomaru", she emphasized on the 'Lord' part.
He nodded with approval and walked over to his desk. Sitting down he picked up a small silver bell and rang it. Not even three seconds later, Jaken came charging throught the door. "Yes My Lord?!?"
Sesshomaru's devious smirk had been replaced with his usual apathetic one. "Take Ayame to her room."
Jaken stared at Ayame as if she had grown another arm. "Which room, My Lord?"
Sesshomaru gave Jaken a disapproving look, "The one next to mine."
"Oh!! Of course My lord!", he bowed low, beckoning for Ayame to follow him.
Carrying her dirty cloak, she followed him. 'Sesshomaru was going to keep her close, eh?'
Jaken showed Ayame and her wolves to her room, and was about to leave when Ayame asked where she might be able to wash her cloak. The imp gave her a disgusted look. "Why would you wish to keep that mangy fur? Throw it away!"
Jaken closed the door in her face, "I will not throw it away you ugly, green, CREEP!", she yelled after him.
She sighed, turning around, then dropped the fur, and her jaw. The room was... breath taking. Random curtains hung all around the room in deep shades of green, blue and grey. Statues were displayed against the wall, along with painting, just like out in the hall. Ayame and her wolves would definitely be comfortable here. Ayame couldn't help but giggle as she spun around between the curtains. 'So this is how a princess feels'.
She laid down on her new bed and felt the sheets. They were so soft... and she was so tired... Her wolves lay around her as she drifted off to sleep.
