Chapter five: The truth or is it lies?

Sesshomaru walked quickly down the halls of the collage. He didn’t have long. It was already two long days ever sense Kagome got taken from him. Most of them was dealing with police and the family of the girl who was killed. Kagome’s family came to the police station as well when hearing the news, and he had to deal with her mother. He took her aside and explained what happened in detail of the encounter with Tai. He did not wish to tell her, but she needed to know what was going on with her daughter. For the second time, he promised he would bring Kagome back. Explaining to her that he was Inuyasha’s brother was different. Kagome’s brother gasped when he heard and claimed that Kagome ranted about him all the time. He had a few choice words to tell the miko when he got her back. It wasn’t if he got her back, it was when.

The next thing he needed to do was gather his kimono, his armor, and last, his swords. He brought them to the collage only because he could never part from them. And counting he was living there for a while, he brought them with him. He entered his room instantly narrowing his eyes and his ‘roommate’.

“Hey Sesshomaru!” The guy said. “I decided to do some cleaning and I found your swords. But don’t worry, I wont tell the dorm head. I figured you had a reason to stash some of this cool stuff. Are you into old Japanese stuff?”

Sesshomaru instantly walked up and snagged the Tenseiga from the boy’s hands. “Do not touch this Sesshomaru’s belongings.” He growled. He placed his sword on the bed and gathered the rest of his belongings. Placing the Tenseiga and the Tokijin on the bed he began to strip so he could wear his kimono once more.

“Sesshomaru, what are you doing?” The boy asked.

“Preparing for battle.” He answered simply, tying his obi. “You are better to stay out of this Sesshomaru’s way as he does.”

The boy bit his lip and watched as he began to don his armor and then placed his swords to his side. “Battle?” He asked finally. “What are you talking about?”

Sesshomaru turned and looked at him. “It’s none of your business. Its best that way if you still wish to live to grow old in your human years.” With that he turned and left. He needed to do one more task if he was to find Kagome. Tai left his human friend behind. A red headed man named Saabel. He could smell the human for miles. The scent of blood and youkai lingered greatly on him. And he stupidly stayed there at the collage.

Sesshomaru smirked as he continued to run. He could feel his old spirit come back to him. He could even feel his beast whom he locked away long ago. Yes, there would be blood tonight for Sesshomaru planed on draining every drop of Tai’s body.
**

Kagome lay on the stone floor, her head hurting once more. Her body was covered in burses; her clothes were nothing more then shreds of cloth on her body. Her energy was slowly beginning to diminish from lack of food or water. She heard the creaking of a door and once more Tai walked in, his familiar smirk on his face.

“Tell me Kagome, are you ready this time?”

Kagome spat at him. “Tell me Tai, are you related to a guy named Naraku by some chance? Because you act a whole hell a lot like him.”

Tai shook his head. “See, this is why I like you so much Kagome. You’re like a stubborn flame that refuses to be put out.” He reached out and cupped her cheek. “Your fire is so bright that I would love to put it out. I suspect your thinking that the fallen lord will come to your rescue. You’re quite deluded to think he will.”

“You keep talking about what happened to Sesshomaru.” Said Kagome. “Its like you’re dying to tell me of his past.”

The demon smirked as he let her chin go and pulled up a chair. “Well I should tell you then. So you can know how pathetic your fallen lord is.

“You see, when Inuyasha lost the love of his life, he found his brother and asked Sesshomaru to teach him how to really fight. He had no one else to protect, no mission to go on, and no longer wished to fight him. Surprisingly the demon lord agreed to teach him. For years they trained, and for years they stayed at Sesshomaru’s palace. That was till the humans attacked.” Tai watched Kagome as he spoke. “During the first attack, the humans were pushed back, but they took with them Sesshomaru’s ward. Yes, they took Rin. She was raped, killed, her body parts were left on his doorsteps the next morning. Enraged Sesshomaru attacked the humans, but allowed his anger to overtake him. In the blinding battle, he killed his brother Inuyasha. Regaining his senses, he realized his mistake and fell into despair. He couldn’t revive his brother from the dead because he tore Inuyasha in so many pieces there was almost nothing left but his head.” Tai almost laughed at the look Kagome had.

Once more despaired ran though Kagome’s body. She could imagine it, the bloodshed as Inuyasha tried to stop his brother from making a mistake. Tears ran down her face, knowing she would never see her friend again. She never even had the chance to tell Inuyasha that she was sorry for the well closing. She didn’t even get to say goodbye when he left her. Never again would she see his smile, his laugh, or even his angry remarks. “Inuyasha…” Kagome whimpered.

“While the great lord Sesshomaru grieved for the lost of his brother, he lost everything then.”

“Stop…” Kagome whispered.

“His subjects died because of him.”

“Stop it….”

“His castle was burned to the ground for his weakness.”

“I said stop…”

“He lost his lands, the very lands that his father fought for just because of one girl.”

“STOP IT!” Kagome screamed a blast of pink energy surrounded her. “Just stop it!” She fell into sobs as the power began to wane then disappear.

Tai smirked as he walked up to her and took her chin into his hand once more. “He is nothing but a week little pup Kagome. Forget about him. Sesshomaru can’t protect anyone. Not his ward, not his brother, and not a human like you. He will die before he can enter my walls. I will destroy him where he stands.”

Kagome ripped her head from his hand, sobbing at the touch. She refused to believe his words. “He promised he would come and save me.” She whispered as Tai began to walk away from her. “I believe in him.”

Tai shot a glare at her before he stormed upstairs and slammed the door.

“Insufferable wrench.” Tai growled as he walked into the living room. “I would have already had my way with her if her miko powers where gone by now.” Every time he tried to touch her in any sexual way possible, he would be burned by her powers. He refused to kill her though. If he killed her now, then he would never have the pleasures he desired out of the girl. He wanted her so badly. Just her scent alone drove him up a tree. Yet she protected herself fiercely. And clinging to the hope that Sesshomaru would save her was enough to make him laugh. But if Sesshomaru really did come, he would kill the girl and have it done and over with. If he couldn’t have her, then no one will. Though with the thought of Inuyasha dead, he could break her that way.

“I wonder how she even knows the half breed.” Tai asked out loud. “She’s a human and Inuyasha died over five hundred years ago. She’s powerful, but not that powerful.”

**

Sesshomaru held the human up by the neck, his claws held up with poison dripping from the tips. “Tell me, where his Kagome?”

Saabel struggled, trying to claw at Sesshomaru’s arm only to leave dull scratches. “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He gasped.

The taiyoukai smirked. “If you did tell me this soon, I guess it would be too easy. Do you know why they call me the killing perfection?”

The redhead shook his head. He really didn’t want to know why. “Please don’t…” He gasped again.

“They call me that because every time I kill my prey, it’s perfect. I have lived almost a thousand years human. I have killed so many that I have lost count. Youkai, humans, all types. Killing you will mean nothing to me. That is if you don’t give me the information that I desire. Now tell me, where is Kagome?” He began to trail a poisoned claw up his leg. “Your time is short. If you do not answer me quickly, I will cut off what you treasure most.”

“Tai is on the outskirts of the city!” Saabel cried out. “He took the girl there because he said that he could play with her there! It’s the truth I swear! Just let me go!”

Sesshomaru dropped the whimpering man on the ground. “Go to him and tell him that This Sesshomaru is on his way. If you do as I say, then you will live. If you don’t, my poison will kill you in the most painful way you can imagine. Now leave my sight.”

Saabel gave a small nod and took off running. He had to get there quickly. He could already feel his leg going numb.

Golden eyes watched him as he ran off. “I will give him till dusk to get ready.” He muttered before taking to the sky.

**

Tai sat there on his couch as he listened to what Saabel had to say.

“So your telling me that the fallen lord threatened you, poisoned you, and then you told him where I’m at?” Tai asked him

“I had to!” The man cried. “I don’t want to die Tai. Not for you and not for that girl you’re obsessing over! Unlike you I’m just a human being, nothing more then a human. I don’t have powers, I don’t live forever, and I don’t want to die!”

Tai rolled his golden eyes. “Pathetic human.” He muttered. With a flick of his wrist, Saabel’s head rolled on the floor, staining his blue carpet with crimson. Tai needed to come up with a plan and fast. He refused to allow Sesshomaru to have the miko. Not after all the carful planning he put into it all.

“I believe its time to come up with a new plan.” He muttered.

Kagome sighed as she continued to sit on the stone floor. Her hands were chained so she couldn’t do anything to escape. Her red dress was pretty much ruined. More then ever she wished she just wore her regular clothes and just didn’t go to that stupid party. On top of that, Tai’s words were still ringing in her ears. Could Sesshomaru really have killed Inuyasha? And if he did, didn’t he have a sword that could bring his brother back to life? The youkai’s words hurt her deeply and she didn’t know what to believe. She didn’t know what to believe at all.

Kagome sighed once more when she thought about when she first met Sesshomaru. He was cold and ruthless, the killing perfection. Say his name to another youkai and she would watch them tremble with fear. Totosai, the youkai who created powerful swords even feared for his life when Sesshomaru was involved. But Kagome knew better after the fight with their father’s sword Sou’unga, Sesshomaru wasn’t as cold hearted and ruthless as everyone thought he was. She remembered asking Inuyasha about it. Even though the great taiyoukai swore that he hated humans, Kagome knew he didn’t hate all of them. If he did, Rin wouldn’t be with him.

But if what Tai said was true, then seeing Rin’s death caused him to attack and kill his brother by mistake. “No…” She whispered. “He has better control then that. I trust him…” And she did. For the past couple days he followed her around, he sang at the bar (Which Kagome still giggled about). He seemed sweeter, calmer, as if he was alone in the world and Kagome was his only link of sanity. Of course, Kagome thinking that she felt a bit ignorant.

With another sigh, Kagome closed her eyes and began to concentrate. She couldn’t wait forever for Sesshomaru to find her and save her. If she could meet him half way and get out of the hell hole she was in, then she could prove to him that she wasn’t some weak little human being. Forcing her pure powers into her hands, she could slowly feel herself purifying the demonic chains that held her there. She would save herself and then she would find him again. That was when she heard the door to the basement open…
**
Sesshomaru stood out in the yard, a smirk on his face. Oh how he missed the hunt. He wanted to tear the flesh of the youkai who called himself Tai and rip his heart from his body.

“Looks like you’ve made it oh fallen prince.” Tai grinned from the roof of the house. “But it seems you’re too late.”

Golden eyes narrowed. “What nonsense do you speak of?”

Tai jumped from the roof to the grass, his blood stained claws running though his silver hair. “I mean you’re too late for your Miko. You see dear prince, after hearing that you were coming; I took liberty to stop playing around. I’ll tell you though, her taste was divine. I wish you could have had a taste as well.” Before he knew it, Tai was against the wall, Sesshomaru’s hand rapped around his neck.

“Silence your words youkai.” He snarled, poison dripping from his other hand. “Or they will be your last.”

Tai’s grin never left his face. “You can kill me Sesshomaru, but it won’t bring your human girl back to life. She’s dead and she’ll never come back.”

“Lies!” He shouted, his hand coming down to strike the demon before him.

“Why don’t you go down there yourself oh fallen prince.” Tai said softly, not fearing his death. “She’s not there.”

He threw the Inu youkai to the side and took off running. She couldn’t be dead. No, not after all this. He promised to save her; he swore that he would bring her back.

“/Do you have someone to protect?/” His father’s words echoed in his ears.

He did. He wanted to protect her, save her and hold her in his arms. He slammed the door open, his golden eyes wide.

“No…” He whispered.
