2 Months Later

“SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT!” Kagome screamed in frustration at the half demon shaped crater. Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Kaede looked on in amusement. Kagome had been ultra moody as of late, so this was becoming a common occurrence.

“What the HELL!” Inuyasha managed before another “SIT!” sent his face back into the dirt.

Shippo shook his head in amazement at how much of an idiot Inuyasha was. With the severe mood swings Kagome had been having for the last couple of weeks, everyone else had learned to just steer clear when she was in a snit, but not Inuyasha! There was a final pained yelp as Kagome gave a last “SIT!” and stomped off.

Kaede, after witnessing the brutality of this most recent fit, decided that it was time to have a serious talk with Kagome. She found her at the bone eater’s well, staring moodily into space.

“Kagome, Child?” Kaede began.

“WHAT!” Kagome snapped testily before checking her tone, “I’m sorry Kaede! I don’t know what it wrong with me lately. I’m just so pissy!”

“Are ye still a virgin, Kagome?” Kaede asked gently.

“WHAT!” Kagome shrieked “ Why in the world would you ask me that?”

“Well, Ye have been rather crank and I noticed that for the last two months, ye have not asked me for any cloth or remedies for ye woman’s time”

“So?” Kagome was becoming impatient.

“So I ask about the state of your innocence to confirm my suspicions.”

“Which is…?”

“ That you are with child.” Kaede finished.

Kagome’s jaw dropped and her eyes widened as Kaede’s remark finally sank in.
“Oh no! I can’t be!” She cried, “ Well, I mean I CAN be but… Oh Inuyasha is going to be so pissed. Out of all the males I had to mess around with it had to be….”

“Why would he be angry?” Kaede inquired.

Kaede’s question brought Kagome out of her rant before she got into the main reason Inuyasha would be upset. “No reason I guess… Um what do I do now?”

“Well child, there is naught ye can do at this point, except wait.”

‘Wait.’ Kagome thought ‘wait for what exactly? The baby to be born looking like it’s father? She could handle it if the baby looked like a half demon, but mostly had her features because she could just pass it off as the offspring of ANY demon. But, if it looked like Sesshomaru, Inuyasha would go berserk!’ She shook her head to clear it of that thought. There was nothing for her to do about that part except wait and pray.

“ I have to tell Inuyasha and the others, Thank you Kaede.” Kagome nodded to the old woman and walked back down to the village. She found Inuyasha sulking near the whole that had been made by his body. His ears went flat when he saw her and he looked at her warily, waiting for her to speak.

“Inuyasha, I’m so sorry!” He rolled his eyes at that, Kagome had been apologizing a lot lately. Inuyasha just kept silent until she continued. “I figured out why I have been acting so crazy.”

“Feh! Like that is a recent development.” he grunted sarcastically.

Kagome’s eyebrows scrunched together and she took a deep breath. “I’m Pregnant!” she got out then promptly burst into tears.

Inuyasha had been tensed for another “SIT!”, but this news brought him crashing to the ground just as effectively.

“P..P..P pregnant??” he stuttered.

Miroku and Sango who had been near enough to hear her confession came walking over and took turns comforting the sobbing woman. They exchanged a glance over her head, Sango’s eyes said ‘about time she figured it out, while the glint in Miroku’s conveyed ‘I KNEW IT!’

Inuyasha sat unmoving, a shocked expression on his face. Kagome leaned down and touched his shoulder, “I’m sorry Inuyasha.”
He blinked, “Feh why are you sorry? You didn’t do nuthin wrong, although I’d like to get my hands on the guys who did fuck up!” His knuckles cracked threateningly and Kagome gulped and ignored the guilt his words brought her.

“JAKEN!” the bellow shook the rafters.
The imp squeaked and hurried to his lord’s study. The master had been so on edge the last 3 months! Most of the servants avoided him if they could. Even little Rin had gone out of her way to stay invisible lately.

“Yes, Lord Sesshomaru,” Jaken panted.

“The diplomat from the Northern tribes… has he arrived yet?” Sesshomaru asked.

“No my lord!” Jaken quivered when his master growled angrily.

“Be gone Imp!”

Jaken flew from the room and leaned against a wall shivering and breathing hard. ‘What was going on?’

Sesshomaru flung his chair in an uncharacteristic fit of rage. Since he had left the priestess in the clearing that day, he had been highly irritated. She made him feel guilt about using her to sate his lust since that day and many other things he was not used to feeling. He had to purge her from his thoughts! ‘Perhaps if he saw her…touched her.’ His eyes widened at this unwanted thought.
“Never will that happen again.” he grunted to himself.

‘Are you sure?’ the inner voice taunted.

“Hn.”
