Papa Sess
This Is A Call
Chapter Five
Papa Sess
Kagome felt her own tears fall as she hugged herself and sat back on her legs. She couldn’t believe that Shippo just yelled at her like that. She didn’t think what she did was wrong. Some how she knew she had to make it alright between herself and Shippo again. Till then sorrow was in her heart, for she had hurt her only child.
Sesshomaru growled when he scented the air and smelled her sorrow again. Shippo had wounded her greatly by leaving and crying. He wasn’t going to let it stand.
Kagome looked up when Sesshomaru started walking off after Shippo. He had a look in her eyes that she really didn’t like, but she let him go. She knew that Shippo didn’t want to see or talk to her at the moment. At least this way there would be someone to protect him.
Kagome walked more into the clearing ignoring all the looks she got from her friends. She sat down under the tree she had sat under earlier and hid her face in her hands and let the tears fall.
***With Shippo and Sesshomaru***
“What do you want?” Shippo said with hatred.
Sesshomaru growled, “I would like it if you would show me the respect I deserve from one such as you.” he said.
Shippo looked at him and the tears came back down, “Why her? Why my mother?” Shippo asked.
Sesshomaru finally felt like he understood. The fox was jealous that Sesshomaru had Kagome’s attention. The fox was scared of losing his beloved mother to Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru smiled with this realization.
Sesshomaru moved to sit under a nice tree and waited for Shippo to come to a stop in front of him.
“Shippo, right?” Sesshomaru asked politely.
Shippo gave Sesshomaru a look that pretty much asked, ‘What are you up to?’. “Yeah, what about it?” Shippo asked not trusting the taiyoukai for a minute.
“I’m not taking Kagome from you Shippo. I know she is your adopted mother. I could never do that to you or her. She loves you and that will never change.” Sesshomaru said.
“If you mate with her, she’ll give birth to your pups and she wouldn’t want me anymore.” Shippo said.
Sesshomaru opened his arms for Shippo, and Shippo surprised him by going to him. He sat in his lap crying into his clothing, seeking comfort while his world flipped upside down.
“Not even her own pups could replace you Shippo. You have your own special spot in Kagome’s heart. Not I, or our future pups could ever replace you. She loves you with all of her heart. She would willingly give her life to protect yours.” Sesshomaru said while he rubbed the foxes back.
“Sesshomaru-sama, could I ask a favor of you?” Shippo asked while looking at him with tear filled eyes.
“Of course.” Sesshomaru said.
“Can I call you Daddy or Papa Sess?” Shippo asked with the most innocent eyes in the whole world.
Sesshomaru had no idea what just happened. All he knew that was when he heard those words come out of his intended’s kits mouth, something in him became soft. He found a desire to protect his future kit.
“Yes Shippo you can, but only if I get to call you my son.” Sesshomaru said with a grin.
Shippo’s eyes lit up and he hugged the taiyoukai with everything he had. He felt like he was about to burst with happiness. “Yeah I’ll be your son Sesshomaru-sama… I mean Papa Sess.” Shippo said as he wiped away his tears and grinned up at his new papa.
“Well we better not let your momma worry about you any longer.” Sesshomaru said to his kit.
Shippo’s face fell and he cried all over again, “I don’t know what to say to momma.” he said.
Sesshomaru picked him up and held him to himself. He stood up and started walking to the clearing that had Kagome and the others in it.
“You can start with saying your sorry for running off.” Sesshomaru said.
Shippo wiped his tears away for the second time that night and smiled up at his papa. “That would be a nice place to start.” was all he said.
***Back in the clearing***
Kagome was starting to worry about her son. She kept fidgeting and looking around for any sign of Shippo or even Sesshomaru. She found that she was worried about both of them, but mostly her kit.
When she heard a rustling sound she looked up to see Sesshomaru step into the clearing with Shippo in his arms. She wanted to run to them and hug them both so much, but she knew that Shippo had to come to her on his own.
She looked at Shippo as he looked at her and then Sesshomaru let go of him as he jumped and took off towards Kagome. Kagome felt tears fall down her face as her son hugged her tightly.
“I’m sorry momma.” Shippo said into Kagome’s clothing as he hugged her and tears came down his cheeks.
Kagome was completely speechless. She didn’t know what to really say. She was shocked when Sesshomaru came and sat down next to her.
Shippo moved to stand in front of his momma and he looked her in the eye. “Momma I want you to know that I’ve decided to accept this ‘thing’ between you and Papa Sess.” Shippo said in a grown up voice.
Everyone in the clearing that was watching stared at Shippo with their mouths open wide. Each one of them was thinking the exact same thing, ‘Did he just call the great taiyoukai Sesshomaru, Papa Sess???’
Kagome’s eyes had widened and she looked at Sesshomaru whom wouldn’t look at her at all and she looked back at her kit and opened her mouth to say something, but nothing would come out at all. Finally after what seemed like eternity she asked the one question that was on everyone’s minds. “Did you just call Sesshomaru-sama… Papa Sess?”
Shippo grinned at Sesshomaru who was looking at the kit with a certain softness in his eyes. “Yup cuz that’s what he is to me now. See now I have a momma and papa, the best ones in the world too.” Shippo said as he hugged both of them at the same time.
Kagome and Sesshomaru looked at each other while they hugged Shippo at the same time. Sesshomaru knew he would have some questions to answer for Kagome. She gave him a look that said she knew exactly what game he was playing and didn’t like it at all.
