Chapter 5: Almost Severed

A storm hit land when the taisho family reached the wolf family’s mansion. everyone was settled in their rooms.

Inuyasha standing at the glass covered balcony facing the raging ocean as rain poured and winds bent the trees. ‘I hope father’s okay… Sessomaru… he’s my mate… my brother! How could I let this happen?’

“You called, brother?”

“wha-“ Inuyasha was startled by the voice that called from behind. Turning to face the owner of the voice, he was met by a broad chest. “Sessumaru! you startled me! why are you here?”

“You called me, brother… my mate…”

Inuyasha frowned at the word. He was not used to being called as mate… and he didn’t want to be “mated” as of yet, moreover to his brother.

“What? I can remember calling for you?” Inuyasha asked puzzled.

“You called for me… I heard it… you sounded… disconcerted… I’m concerned.” Sesshomaru looked at Inuyasha from below him intently… into those golden expressive eyes.

Inuyasha now realizing it… ‘I was thinking of him a while ago… I called his name… but in my mind… maybe … I guess we’re connected…’

“Oh… that’s nothing…” he said and turned to look at the scene outside the glass wall. he then felt strong gentle arms embracing him by the chest and his brother’s chin resting on his head.

“uhm… Sesshomaru…”
“Yes?”

“What do you think of us being mates? I mean…” Inuyasha sighed. “I mean did you love me… even before this?”

Silence was the answer to his inquiry. Inuyasha, crestfallen, was turning to get away from the embrace when it got tighter. “Yes, Inuyasha… I did love… you are my brother.”

“I thought so… now… I know this is just the mating bond.”

“What are you talking about?” Sesshomaru turned Inuyasha to face him. he saw Inuyasha’s eyes flushed tears ready to fall.

Shaking Inuyasha continued “I love you Sesshomaru… I know I have been denying this in me… but now I’m sure… I love you. But… to tell you… I loved you ever since the mating bond… ever since we had been brothers.”

Sesshomaru just looked at Inuyasha a bit shocked but warm about the revelation. ‘I’ll just let him finish… and I’ll tell him how much he means to me now. The past is never an issue it is what’s now.’

“Sesshomaru…” Inuyasha closed his eyes a lone tear going down his cheeks. When he opened his eyes red energy burst out his body sending Sesshomaru to the other side of the quite spacious balcony. Inuyasha’s eyes are crimson demon markings appeared on his cheeks, his hair blown up by the red energy emanating from his body. The glass wall vibrating from so much force it had to encase.

Dread fell over Sesshomaru ast his youkai insincts told him that this is not good. ‘He’s going to sever our mating bond!’. “Inuyasha! stip this foolishness!”

“I’m sorry Sesshomaru… if ever I forced myself to you…” Inuyasha said to his mate.

“NO INUYASHA! YOU NEVER FORCED ME TO-“he was cut short when the glass wall shattered and a full dog demon is within their midst. A regal form of a fully transformed dog demon holding the hilt of a long slender sword, floating in air as fire dances on his ankles.

“Sesshomaru…”

Sesshomaru looked at Inuyasha “INUYASHA PLEASE STOP THIS! I LO-“

“always remember… even when our mating bond is severed… even when I can’t feel your warmth in me… even if I can no longer feel you… I… love… you…” with those last word full energy blasted out of Inuyasha causing Sesshomaru to cover his eyes from the blinding light. his eyes refocused he looked at Inuyasha wearing a different set of clothes. The most angelic thing you’ve ever seen. He was wearing all white from his haori to his kimono. With white silken cloths draping down to the floor. still, his face adorned by the demon marks, eyes closed.

“Inu- yasha…”

“I…” said an ethereal voice coming from Inuyasha, slowly opening his eyes still crimson. “Prince Inuyasha of the western lands, son of Lord Inu no taisho and Lord Izayoi...”

“No no no no NO! INUYAHSA! STOP THIS!” Sesshomaru ran to Inuyasha and was thrown back to the other side of the balcony hitting his back on the parapet. there’s a barrier formed to stop him from getting near Inuyasha. “no Inuyasha” he whispered.

“Mate to the heir Prince Sesshomaru…” with this said… a red thread appeared connecting Inuyasha and Sesshomaru.

‘This must be the mating bond! I have to stop this!’ “NO! PLEASE INUYASHA! STOP THIS!” Sesshomaru said as tears started to fall from his eyes.

“Renounce the bond that once held us! I call forth the great Inu ancestor Inutheo…”

once again Sesshomaru dashed to Inuyasha coming face to face with the barrier making sparks fly out all the while saying “my mate stop this!” as tears kept on falling down his cheeks.

“to sever my and Prince Sesshomarus bond.” Inuyasha turned to look at Sesshomaru closed his eyes and when he opened it golden eyes now adorned it.

“Inuyasha! No!” Sesshomaru called to his mate.

“I love you Sesshomaru.” his voice returned to normal ”And thank you… being your mate made me the happiest in the world. I love you Sesshomaru… I love you… my dearest mate…” with that Inuyasha once again closed his eyesand when he opened it crimson greeted Sesshomaru.

“So be it done!” The ethereal voice now turned demonic. Sesshomaru was thrown once again to the other side of the balcony as red youkai blasted out of Inuyash.

The dog demon from behind Inuyahsa started to move. Flown up to the heavens and was now rushing down to the glowing thread that connected the mates. the dog was about to cut the thread when a sliver blur appeared holding the tetssaiga blocking the sword the dog demon held.

“father!” Sesshomaru called out.

“great ancestor… please go back…” Inutaisho begged “HEAVEN’S KEY!” Inutaisho swung tetssaiga as bright light emanated from it. The dog demon backed away and was snarling at the sword. A gate appeared in the distance and opened. As if by cue the dog demon ran inside the gate and the gate closed. With this the red thread disappeared and Inuyasha fell to the floor unconscious.

“Inuyasha!” Sesshomaru called out as his vision blackened and went unconscious.

“My sons!” Inutasho called out.

then a scream was heard throughout the mansion calling taisho’s name.
