A Broken Soul

Chapter 5: Healing



Kagome was pacing back and forth trying to calm her emotions and curb the intensity of her need to maim the idiot who dared call her a whore when she was anything but. Sitting on the edge of the bed for a few seconds before she stood and went out on the balcony to let the cool breeze play over her heated skin. She could feel Sesshomaru behind her and yet didn't want him to touch her a the moment and erected a shield between them. She took to muttering to herself as her anger seemed to build instead of curb.



"Stupid, insolent, whelp I could crush him with my power even before I changed and yet he sees fit to disrespect me as if I'm some slave under his command. I should strangle the idiot without even touching him so that I don't dirty my hands. Damn a war with the South they can not beat me or Sesshomaru and probably would dare bring my anger upon themselves anyway though the idiots would be hard pressed to submit..."



Kagome took a deep breath a sighed tiredly. Dropping the shield she grabbed the rail for balance as she was overwhelmed with dizziness. Sesshomaru was at her side in seconds she had one moment to whisper 'Ryomaru' before she lost consciousness. Sesshomaru swept her up into his arms and told a servant to assemble everyone in the dining room immediately while he went to Shippou. Shippou much to Sesshomaru's aggravation and relief seemed to know exactly what was wrong with her after looking her over.



"It seems one injected a strong poison into her body. Because she just recieved her new abilities her body is still adjusting and will not be able to fight off the poison. So unless we can get the necessary thing to make the antidote she will die. Did she say anything before she fainted?"



"She said 'Ryomaru'."



"That makes sense before she fainted the prince was the last person to bump into her and since he most like saw her and didn't move out of the way to aviod the collision he probably had planned to inject her anyway."



Shippou and Sesshomaru went to the dining room and addressed the rest of the assembled group. Sesshomaru's eyes never left Ryomaru's face and when Ryomaru meet his gaze with a malicious smile ghosting across his lips he knew it had in fact been Ryomaru to poison his mate. He handed Shippou Kagome's limp body and pinned the prince before anyone else could even gasp in surprise.



"Why have you poisoned my mate you insolent fool?"



"My Lord Sesshomaru your very possessive over that little whore aren't you. She must be one hell ova fuck."



Sesshomaru's eyes tinted red and his beasts almost took control but Sesshomaru held it back telling it that he need to get some information from the bastrad before it could kill him.



"Undo it now."



"Sorry but no. You see that would only result in my death and undo everything I wanted to achieve. Besides this poison is said to be myth and yet I made it real so it stands to reason that the antidote is myth to good luck finding it by the way."



Shippou shook Kagome lightly then used a little of his energy to try and rouse her into consciousness. He again snapped his energy around this time snapping it against her skin harder then before. Kagome was forced into consciousness and Shippou stood her on her feet with a steadying arm around her waist. She could feel her body trying to fight the poison and also feel it losing the fight.



"Sessho?"



Sesshomaru was at her side in half a second. Ryomaru just stared at her with straight out hatred.



"So the bitch has some fight in her after all. I should have known she wouldn't go out with out a fight."



"I need the combined energies of my elements to help my body beat this poison.'Fuckin twerp I swear if I could kick his ass right now he'd be dead.' Alway the water element must come from the Southern shores, from the north I need air from the highest peak, the east with provide me with the purest sand, and the west will give flame. The element of time must come from the realm of the death where time means nothing."



"We can attain the other elements but we can not cross the divide to reach the realm of the dead Kagome."



Kagome weavered as her strength weakened and she winced in pain. Sesshomaaru picked her up bridal style and watched her carefully.



"Mate, you must tell us how to cross the divide without dying."



"The s..."



Kagome fell back into unconsciousness before she could finish her sentence. Sesshomaru sighed inaudibly and held her tighter. Shippou, Sango, Miroku, and Inuyasha had left unknown to the others to prepare for their journeys. Inuyasha planned to head to the North, Sango and Miroku to the East, and Shippou to the South, they assumed that Sesshomaru would knew how to handle the instructions for the west and upon they're return they would figure out what Kagome had been about to say. They all were ready to depart in ten minutes and did just that after telling Sesshomaru. Ryomaru smirked and started to laugh loudly until it echoed through out the room.



"You think it will really work then well then waste your time if you think it with do something but mark my words that bitch will be dead by the rising of the moon in five days time and during her remaining time she will suffer like she so rightfully deserves."



"Take him to the dungeon and wait for me."



Sesshomaru hissed the words from behind clenched teeth his eyes again glowing red with bloodlust. Through the entire thing Lord Kyomaru and Lady Koari had watched their son with shame and fear in their eyes. They had immediately moved to stand behind Sesshomaru to show their neutrality in the entire situation. Everyone retired to their rooms after Sesshomaru and the guards with Ryomaru had left the dining room. Lord Diamaru, Lady Takima, and Princess Noari stayed quiet and said nothing only moved behind Sesshomaru to show they were with him and completely against Ryomaru's actions. Though Noari hesitated and it was seen by Sesshomaru she did move behind him as tears began to fall from her eyes. She and Ryomaru had been friends since birth and had even been betrothed until they both found they didn't care for each other that way. She kept whispering to herself though all the youkai in the room heard her.

"I'm so sorry Ryo so so sorry. You'll always by my friend, please forgive me Ryo."

A quiet deep and menacing encased the castle and it unnerved everyone within the castle grounds to no end but all of them knew that to even try and penetrate it would most likely bring about death and or severe bodily harm.
