The Conversation
A/N: oh my god… writing at work is hard when people keep coming in. Anyways, here is the next chapter. Sorry its so short. I just wanted to finish this before I had to go to work. Oh and there should be a lemon in the next chapter. Depending on how I feel.
Chapter five: the conversation.
Kagome woke up early that morning, got dressed and began to help he mother with breakfast. Sesshomaru came down not long after, but Shota and her grandfather were still asleep. It was Sunday so no one had school that day.
Sesshomaru sat down at the table, dead tired. His dreams was riddled with the black haired girl, and they weren’t going to leave any time soon.
Kagome peeked over to see the inuyokai looked tired for once. Normally he wouldn’t show such emotions, but her only guess was that he was under stress. That had to be the only explanation. Then again, she was sure that Sesshomaru never showed emotion unless if it was anger, or when he was really pissed off.
“Breakfast is ready!” Kagome called as she set up the table. As if summoned, Shota and her grandfather walked to the table, looking almost like the walking dead. “Wake up sleepy heads. Same with you Sesshomaru-same. You look like you were just raised by clay and graveyard soil!” Even though it was a joke, the yokai sent a small glare her way.
Kagome laughed as she sat down to eat as well. Okay, so she shouldn’t have made that joke. Of course, she continued to laugh till she realized that Sesshomaru was in a fowl mood.
“So Sesshomaru, are you ready for the class trip?” She asked him.
Sesshomaru arched an eyebrow. “Trip?”
Kagome smiled and nodded. “Yep. We’re going to Hokkaido for the week. Hot springs and everything! And it’ll be a great time to relax.”
The inuyokai gave a small nod and finished up the meal. “Right.” He stood and headed out of the house.
“Sesshomaru, where are you going?” Kagome asked, confused to what was troubling him.
“Out.” He answered, shutting the door.

He was troubled. More then troubled. Seeing her make breakfast for him, then talk about going off to Hokkaido forced even more thoughts into his mind. His beast was still growling at him for leaving Kagome in the house. He still craved her. Even more today then yesterday. It was becoming unbearable.
“Taisho-san!” Someone called out to him.
Sesshomaru turned to see Ayumi running up to him. Great, that’s all he needed. Even though the human girl didn’t ask a lot of questions, she still was slightly irritating.
Ayumi caught up with him and began to walk besides Sesshomaru. “So did you know that tomorrow is Kagome-chan’s birthday?” She asked him.
Sesshomaru stopped. Was it really her birthday? He answered with a simple no.
Ayumi frowned slightly. “Well I was thinking that you would know better then anyone. I mean, she did date your younger brother and all.”
Sesshomaru’s eyes narrowed slightly. “What do I care about what Inuyasha knows or doesn’t know?” He practically snapped.
The girl blinked. “I guess you and your brother weren’t close…” She said softly. “In that case, I’m sure your not going to use Kagome like Inuyasha did to her. I mean, he cheated on her, and made her feel like she was worthless sometimes.”
“What are you implying?” Sesshomaru snapped.
“I’ve known Kagome for years Taisho-san. I just don’t want to see her suffer with the older brother now. She obviously likes you. And I don’t think it was for looks. Just please Taisho-san, if you two do start dating, don’t treat her like your brother did. That’s all I ask.”
“Never lump me in with that half-breed.” Sesshomaru growled, his amber eyes narrowing. “I am nothing like that incompetent fool.”
Ayumi shrugged and shifted her bag. “Anyways, what I really came here for was to invite you to Kagome’s birthday party. Its going to be at my house. Bring Kagome-chan there too. But don’t tell her about it. She’s not supposed to know about it. You know, it’s a surprise.”
Sesshomaru sighed. Why him? She just insulted him, then asked him to go to a party. “Tell me why I should do what you say?” he demanded of her.
Ayumi smiled brightly. “Because even though your quiet and act like your better then everyone else, your still a good friend of Kagome-chan’s.”
“This Sesshomaru will think about it.” He said before turning and leaving her. He didn’t have to think about it. He knew he would tell Kagome about it. And then she would force him to go to this ‘party’ thing.
