Prelude to Disaster
Finally I had sometime to write! I hate when school starts, I lose good co workers at work and have to work odd hours to make up for their lose. Bastards! Anywho, Haven’t quite yet decided what angle to give my bad guy yet, but before that happens the mating ceremony has to happen, next chapter. I know I’m moving a bit slow, but I’m having fun! Thank you Patty530 and KooKooKitty for the reviews! On with the show!

“Celina,” Tasshomaru growled, snapping Celina to attention. She had been in his room for over an hour just ranting about everything from the upcoming mating ceremony, to his actions last night, then about the pup, and mother and father. Still, he knew she was holding something back, but what, he wasn’t sure. “What is it you really want to say?”
“Haven’t you’ve been listening!?” Celina huffed, as she glared at Tasshomaru, who collapsed on his bed, sighing.
“I have been,” Tasshomaru sighed, staring up at his ceiling, painted like a blue sky. “How else would I know you are hiding something! You normally just rant and scream, then move on with life instead of repeating everything at least twice while you rant and scream. So please tell me what is really bothering you instead of pussyfooting around.”
“Pussyfooting?” Celina gaped at him. “And where did you pick up words like those. You know how father is about those types of words.”
“Please you have been cursing since you could walk,” Tasshomaru replied sitting up on the bed, giving her a dark look. “Now stop changing the subject.”
“So who is she?” Celina asked, sitting down next to her brother. Dropping his jaw, Tasshomaru gaped at his sister. “Like I wasn’t going to find out. You have been stupid about it. I’ve notice your disappearances like the other night, over the past year. Then the change in your vocab has to be a female.”
“And what if it’s not a female,” Tasshomaru replied, looking away from his sister.
“Wait you’re gay?” Celina asked, her mind spinning with more questions. “Didn’t see that one coming, but you know I still love you and…”
“I’m not gay,” Tasshomaru growled. “Fine, it is a female and if you tell mom and dad I will kill you!”
“I won’t,” Celina sighed, as she thought of her grandfather. “If I show you something, promise me you won’t tell mom and dad.”
“Sure,” Tasshomaru replied, as he was yanked off the bed and down the hall by Celina.

“Tomorrow is the big day and you should be getting rest,” Mya informed Kagome as she paced the study. “Sit down and have some tea.”
“I’m sorry,” Kagome said as she sat down in the chair next to Mya, looking down at her lap. “Tomorrow is it huh.”
“It’s not it,” Mya replied, trying not to laugh. “The ceremony marks a change in your life, a new beginning. Now relax dear, you love him and wouldn’t have agreed to this to begin with if you didn’t. Plus, if anyone tries to pull something off, I’ll beat them to the ground and make them a mush of blood and gore.”
“Good to know,” Kagome gulped, as she tried not to imagine anyone being mangled. There was a knock at the door, she went to get up to open it, but Mya motioned her to sit, as she stood. Walking over to the door, Mya opened only a crack, as she peered into the hall.
“Lord Koga,” Mya greeted. “May I assist you with something?”
“I need to speak to Kagome,” Koga told her, trying to open the door but Mya would not budge.
“She is preparing for her mating ceremony tomorrow,” Mya growled, unsure of the wolf’s intentions.
“It’s alright Mya,” Kagome said as she walked over towards Mya. “He can come in.”
“Lady Kagome I must object,” Mya started, when Kagome opened the door the rest of the way, allowing Koga entrance. Mya closed the door, but stood guard, as she glared at Koga.
“So what can I help you with Koga?” Kagome asked him as she sat back down.
“I need to ask a favor,” Koga informed her, trying to ignore the icy glare coming from Mya.
“Sure, what is it?” Kagome asked him, as she watch Koga inch away from Mya.
“I wish to ask Celina for courtship,” Koga said, as he kept one eye on Mya.
“About damn time,” Mya muttered, as she crossed her arms.
“And you want to do it in a roomful of people?” Kagome asked ash she thought this over. Koga nodded his head yes, as she continued to think. “I don’t have a problem with it. Just wait till at least the feast to ask her.”
“And if she hits you and runs from the room you drop all claim to her,” Mya added, and Koga nodded his head. He would agree to both females’ terms, and hope for the best. “Also you will ask Lord Sesshomaru first.”
“I will,” Koga told her, locking eyes with Mya so she would know he spoke the truth.
“Then you have my blessing,” Kagome replied, giving him an encouraging smile.
“Thank you,” he said to Kagome, then bowed and left the room. Mya locked the door before returning to her chair next to Kagome.
“You know it could go one of two ways,” Mya stated, as she picked a letter off the table, not really reading it. Kagome was still lost in her own thoughts, but she was still listening to Mya’s words. “Celina will either burst into tears or say yes, or she’ll give him another black eye and storm out of the room, and maybe even leave the country again.”
“I know,” Kagome sighed. “But it’s better for it to be all out in the open, then just as some secret waiting to blow up in everyone’s face.”
“A secret,” Mya said, as she put the letter down and got up to stretched. “No matter how small, is a time bomb waiting to explode. I’m going to retire for the night now. I suggest you do the same.”
“I will soon,” Kagome replied, as Mya left, leaving her to her thoughts.

“You are all insane!” Tasshomaru growled he stood in the middle of Ash’s sitting room, a calm Ash was sitting as he screamed in her face. Touga and Celina stood off to the side, Tasshomaru went quickly from shock to anger and rage after he Celina had showed him Touga in the flesh. “You dare think you can keep a secret like this!”
“I can keep a secret, you sister however,” Ash said as she shot a glare at Celina.
“Do I get a say in this?” Touga asked, while Celina gave a snort of laughter.
“Please, Ash doesn’t let anyone have a say, do you,” Celina sneered, earning a glare from everyone in the room.
“Look it’s my gift to InuYasha on the day of his mating,” Ash replied in a no arguing tone. “What could possibly go wrong?”
“Besides my father ripping your heart out and stomping on it for good measure?” Celina muttered, before stepping forward. “Why don’t we just let this be a day full of surprises, and Tasshomaru can bring that girl he’s been hiding!”
“Shut up,” Tasshomaru snapped at her, as he gave her a little push. Celina then slapped him, and soon they where tumbling around the floor hitting each other.
“ENOUGH!” Touga roared, snapping both his grandchildren to attention. “Tomorrow I will be present at the mating ceremony, and Tasshomaru will invite this girl. Also Celina you will behave like a proper lady from now on. No more snide remarks, cursing, or fighting with your brother. How do you expect to find a mate when you don’t act like a proper lady? Your father has been far too leant on you two.”
“Yes grandfather,” Celina growled, as she slammed the door as she left. Tasshomaru tried to leave but his grandfather grabbed is arm, stopping him in his tracks.
“Ash has been teaching me about this century and its technology,” Touga informed him. “You will call this lady now and have her attend tomorrow.”
“What is so important about her attending,” Tasshomaru growled as he snapped his arm back. He be damned if he let his resurrected grandfather order him around.
“Is she one of your whores?” Touga asked him as he sat back down.
“NO!” Tasshomaru gasped, shocked his grandfather would even call her that.
“Well you treat her like one,” Touga informed him, giving his grandson a hard look. “If you have plans of having a real relationship with her then you will not argue any further and I will meet her tomorrow. You are dismissed.”
“Good night,” Tasshomaru said as he ran out the door. Ash stood up, and stared at the great dog general.
“You certainly have a way with those two,” Ash commented before she bowed. “I will retire now.”
Touga gave her a small nod of acknowledgement as she left. Getting out of his own chair, he headed toward his own room. “At least some haven’t forgotten the old ways.”
