----Notes----
I know that so far many of you have seen this as just a PWP, but I assure you all that the story is only just beginning. Thanks as always to those who have taken the time to read my little twisted work of fiction. I hope you continue to enjoy.
Chapter 5 - Day 3 - Day 4 (Morning), When It All Falls Apart
Kagome got up early the next morning. She was surprised to find herself in her bed all tucked in. She couldn't help but smile a bit as she climbed out of bed and got a change of cloths before heading to the shower. The house was strangely quiet, which meant either Sesshy had left early or was still asleep.
As she stood under the steaming hot shower the events of the past few days flashed through her mind. She was still so torn inside by what had happened, first her brother then Miroku...And lastly...Sango. She was so confused.
As thoughts raged in her head that made little sense to herself she slowly sank to the floor of the shower. She rubbed her temples as her head felt like it was going to explode. It was then that she heard the car pull up out front. She was now curious as to who might be here at this time of morning, and on a Sunday no less. They almost had to be here to see Sesshy.
She hopped out of the shower and hurriedly dried off and tossed on her jeans and a blouse and dashed down the stairs just as the door buzzer rang. When she opened the door she was startled to find her brother's friend Naraku standing there.
She had never really liked him. He was rumored to have ties to the Yakuza, not to mention he was just all around creepy. Especially his eyes...They were crimson and seemed to pierce right into your very soul. Oh, he acted friendly enough but was about as trustworthy as a viper (Not to mention the viper was more cuddly than he.)
Kagome stood there for a moment a bit dumbfounded that he was here this early in the morning. "Um...Hi Naraku." she finally managed to stammer out "Come on in...I think Sesshoumaru is still asleep, do you want me to go wake him?" Naraku bowed to her before accepting the invitation to enter the house. He was from a refined family and taught to show respect, more so when he was visiting another person's home. "Good morning Kagome, I'm sorry to disturb you at such an early hour but I must talk...Business with Sesshoumaru. So if you could wake him that would be much appreciated." the tall boy said.
Kagome walked up the stairs and glanced back at the man in the living room. He was so odd. Long hair dark hair with a slightly reddish tint, crimson eyes, and always in a white and blue suit...She shook her head and knocked on Sesshy's door. "Sesshoumaru." she called before opening it. Sure enough he was still passed out sprawled over his bed. She walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder "Sesshy...Sesshy wake up." she said tapping him again.
Her brother's golden eyes opened slowly and he smiled when he saw Kagome standing there. "Good morning sis." he said giving a stretch. "What gives waking me up so early?" he asked as he glanced at the clock and saw it was barely 7am. "Um...You have company downstairs...Naraku..." she said a bit hesitantly. Immediately her brother's eyes narrowed "Oh..shi..." he began then jumped up grabbing his pants and a t-shirt. She'd never watched her brother get dressed so quickly. She stood there a bit dumbfounded as he dashed down the stairs. She chuckled a bit nervously and scratched the back of her head. 'Perhaps I should let the boys talk and just lay low for awhile.' she was thinking when she heard the front door shut. She walked to the window and glanced out and saw Sesshy getting in the car with Naraku.
The car sat there for a moment before it started up and took off. She blinked for a second then gave a sigh. 'Well looks like I'm going to be alone for awhile.' she thought as she walked downstairs and too the kitchen. She went about fixing herself some breakfast and some tea. Ever since this whole...Thing with her brother had started she'd been wishing for some alone time, but now that it was here she had no idea what to do with herself...
-----Meanwhile-----
"What do you mean he's refusing to pay?" Sesshoumaru barked at Naraku. "Just what I said you dimwit." Naraku snarled back. "So why did you have to come and get me? I'm not /really/ a part of your little...organization." Naraku was speeding down the side streets of Tokyo at speeds that were usually only reserved for race tracks, worse yet he didn't even have his eye on the road. "Because Sesshy you're the only one I can count on in times of severe crisis such as this one. If I don't get my money, my uncle don't get his money. If my uncle don't get his money then people end up dead." Naraku pointed out as he began to slow the car.
Sesshoumaru just sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Great Naraku just great. I've been trying to stay out of all this for Kagome's sake I don't want her at risk." Naraku "Well if you want sis to stay safe then you do what I tell you or else..." Naraku didn't get a chance to finish that sentence before Sesshoumaru elbowed him in the ribs hard. "Don't threaten her Naraku, or else certain people will get a hold of...certain documents that you'd rather not see the light of day." Naraku glared at him. He knew all about Sesshoumaru's little "insurance policy". "Fine Sesshy...Just please do this for me...As a favor."
"Fine." was all Sesshoumaru said as they pulled up in front of a Saki Bar. "He's inside, get me the money and let's get the hell out of here." Sesshoumaru got out of the car "Not coming with me Naraku?" "Hell no."
----Back home----
Kagome sat on the couch with her feet tucked under her with a carton of ice cream watching a sappy movie. She felt like the typical depressed female. In some way it was comforting, but she hated being stereotypical. She had thought about calling Sango, but she was too confused over what had happened the previous night to call her. She could call Yuki, but Yuki would likely kill her for calling so early. Kagura perhaps? That's it. She'd call Kagura.
Kagura and her had never really been what she would call close but she was very intelligent, and she lived right next door. She couldn't tell Kagura about what had happened with her brother but...At least she'd be some company. With that she grabbed her cell phone and called Kagura.
After a brief talk Kagura agreed to come over. Ten minutes later the door buzzer sounded and Kagome let her in.
"So what's going on Kagome?" the girl asked as she came inside. "Oh...Well kind of a lot." Kagura cocked her eyebrow at the response "Oh really?" Kagome sheepishly nodded "Yeah, I can't really talk about it. I just needed some company that's all. I hope you don't mind I called so early." Kagura just shrugged "I don't sleep anyway. Insomnia sucks." Kagome giggled at the response. "Want some tea? I can get you some." Kagura nodded slightly and thanked her. "Make yourself at home, I'll be right back." Kags told her as she headed into the kitchen.
Kagura sat down on the couch tucking her feet under her long kimono. Some people made fun of her for wearing it but she found it quite comfortable, and she really didn't give a damn what other's thought of how she dressed. In her thinking she wasn't born to impress others. Her magenta eyes rested on her friend as she came in holding two steaming cups of tea. "Thank you Kagome." "Anytime Kagura." the teen said as she sat on the couch next to the other girl.
"So you been alright?" Kags finally said to break the silence that had filled the room. "Oh yeah, I guess. Been having nightmares again." Kagura replied as she sipped on her tea. "This is wonderful Kagome." Kagome blushed at the compliment "Thank you Kagura."
Nothing was said for a long time as each girl was lost in her own thoughts.
----Downtown----
Sesshoumaru ducked as one of the thugs in the bar took a swing at him. "Dammit I thought this was supposed to be a simple pick up." he grumbled to himself as he brought his knee up into the midsection of his attacker. The man clutched his ribs and fell down on his knees. Sesshy gave him a kick to knock him out of the way as he approached his intended prey. "Now, you can give me the money or I can take it. Either way don't matter to me."
The one he spoke to sat in the booth without speaking. "Come on you bastard just pay up." Silence was the only response he got. Sesshoumaru growled and slammed his hand down on the table "Dammit give me the fucking money!"
Finally the other moved. He stood slowly his brown eyes focusing on the one threatening him. He stepped around the table "Temper, temper." the man spoke, his long black ponytail swaying as he moved. "Just relax my little errand boy." he reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of yen. "There, now I trust this horrible misunderstanding is resolved?" Sesshoumaru grabbed the money "As far as I know...Believe me I hope it is. As if I don't have better things to do on a Sunday morning than do pick ups."
The man laughed softly "Well tell Naraku the next time he wants to collect from Koga he can come himself or he can forget about it." Koga sat back down in his seat and went back to his saki while Sesshoumaru just hurried to get the hell out of there. When he stepped outside he saw that Naraku, and the car were gone and waiting for him were Tokyo's finest...
----Later that evening----
She was really worried now. It wasn't like him to be gone all day and not even call. She was biting her nails and generally becoming a basket case. Kagura tried to calm her down but Kags was far to upset and would have none of it.
"What if he's hurt? What if that bastard Naraku got him into /real/ trouble this time?" she fretted and paced the living room. "He left here at 7 o'clock in the morning and it's 5:30 in the evening now!" "I'm sure he's fine Kags, he's a big boy after all." Kagome just glared "He's all I have now. Everyone else is in America." She flopped down in her brother's favorite reclining chair. She could still smell him on it. She inhaled his scent deeply and sighed. She was so worried and missed him...Though if he were here he'd probably be...No don't think like that.
Kagura could tell more was wrong than what the girl was saying. She left it be though, if she were supposed to know then Kagome would tell her.
----27th Precinct----
"That's all you know Tadakatsu?" The detective asked for the umpteenth time. "Yes" Sesshoumaru answered for the umpteenth time. "So you're telling me that you just went in there to collect money from your friend?" "Yes detective. He borrowed the money last week and called me this morning and said to come get it." The detective snuffed out his cigarette and glared at the boy sitting across from him. "I know all about you Sesshoumaru. I know that Tadakatsu is just an alias, and I also know that in your spare time you do errands for our local Yakuza wannabe."
Sesshoumaru just rolled his eyes. "I go pick up food, bring him drinks at his parties. Big deal. What it's against the law to do favors for your friends?" "Alright now explain away your little alias." "It's a nickname. For the legendary warrior Honda Tadakatsu. My sensei gave it to me." "Convenient" "Isn't it though?"
"Alright Fluffy...You're free to go...For now, but I'm watching you and your little friend too." "I'm flattered Detective Taisho. But please no peeking while I'm in the shower, at least not until we get to know each other better." A growl was the only response he got.
He walked out of the precinct and hailed a cab. It was late in the evening by now and he was sure Kagome would be worried sick about him. 9 hours at the police station was not his idea of a fun Sunday.
When the cab pulled up in front of his house, he barely made it halfway up the walk when Kagome came out the door and almost tackled him with a hug. "SESSHY! I've been so worried about you! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" She had her arms around his neck and was practically hanging there. "Well that's complicated. Can I tell you tomorrow? I just want to go inside and relax." Kagome just smiled and nodded. She was just glad he was home, she could only imagine what happened that kept him gone so long.
Then it dawned on her that he had pulled up in a cab. "Um Sesshy...Why did you come home in a cab?" "Naraku ditched me." was all he would say. "Please no more questions I just need to relax" he said as he sat down in his chair. He saw Kagura sitting on the couch. He knew the girl a little. He greeted her before he folded his hands behind his head and let his eyes drift shut. He was so glad to be home. Then he felt Kags climb into his lap and cuddle up there with her head on his chest. He couldn't help but smile. He rested his hand on her back and dozed off to sleep like that.
----Early Monday Morning----
He woke up and saw Kagome still curled up on his lap. Kagura had left after they both fell asleep. He yawned and gently shook Kagome awake. "Kags, we have to get up and get ready for school." Kagome woke up with a groan "Please Sesshy just 5 more minutes..." she said before curling back up on his chest. "Kagome we have to get up babe." he said and shook her again. Finally she sat up and gave him the evil eye before relenting. She hopped off her brother's lap and stretched. She was still really tired from the weekend.
She glanced over at Sesshy who was standing now himself. It was then that she saw the look in his eyes. 'Uh oh...I think he wants to start the day off with...' about that time he had his arms around her and his hands firmly on her ass. Her eyes widened "Sesshy...Please..." was all she got out before her brother kissed her. It wasn't a normal kiss oh no. It was a kiss one would give a lover, not a sister.
When he finally pulled away from the kiss her purred in her ear "After the day I had yesterday I need something." She just gulped when she heard that tone of voice again. He picked her up on his shoulder and carried her up to the shower.
"You have what I crave Kags." he said as he removed her cloths. 'This is going to be a long day.' was all she could think.
I know that so far many of you have seen this as just a PWP, but I assure you all that the story is only just beginning. Thanks as always to those who have taken the time to read my little twisted work of fiction. I hope you continue to enjoy.
