Chapter 5
A/N: I want to try and get all of this out before Spring Break…there are two more chapters after this. Sorry, no more lemons. Perhaps if you say ‘please’ I will write an epilogue with a nice lemon.
For Kawaii Kilala, my faithful reviewer. I believe one of your questions will be answered in this chapter, as for the other one…well…that one will be answered as well. But I will give you that you are correct on one of your assumptions! (You’ll probably get which one after this chapter) As for the Kitchen Island scene…they were cleaning the kitchen when it happened. LOL. As for Sango not noticing InuYasha’s ahem methods of undressing her, she has to keep in mind that she has her own emotions to keep under control. It wouldn’t do for her to get carried away and…catch his hair on fire or something along those lines. They all have their secrets and they are too busy hiding them to notice any signs the others’ give off. I hope that helps!
Chapter 5
The girls left the apartment some time the next morning, moving sluggishly from more than lack of sleep. Not a word was spoken between them, both knowing what happen to the other and finding nothing wrong with it.
The café they worked at was more or less empty when they reached it. They placed their things in the back before grabbing up their aprons.
“Sango…” Kagome said quietly as they clocked in. Her friend looked at her in question.
“What is it, Kagome?” she asked when Kagome made no move to say anything else.
“Do you think we should tell them?” Kagome’s sapphire eyes looked troubled and Sango’s cheerful mood suddenly disappeared.
“I don’t know.” She answered truthfully. Kagome nodded, her own cheerful mood gone wondering why the hell she brought that thought up.
The females continued about their day, waiting on tables and serving customers. Each was lost in their thoughts of the males they left behind. Could they reveal to them what they had kept from all others? Would they be able to accept them for what they had become and look past it? Would they want to look past it at all?
“Sango.” Jimmy called from the front. She looked up from the table she was cleaning. “There is a request for you at a table.”
“Alright.” Sango smiled as she assumed InuYasha had come to see her on his lunch break. He promised that he would when he crawled out of their bed this morning.
But the male sitting at the table was not InuYasha. No, this was someone completely different. I hope Kagome doesn’t see him here. Sango thought to herself as she approached the table. Her companion could not stand the man who she had dubbed ‘asshole’.
“Hey, princess.” The man grinned at her. Sango inwardly shuddered. What the hell had she seen in this guy? He was nothing compared to InuYasha.
“Scott…” she said quietly, quickly glancing for Kagome. “What can I get for you?”
“How about dinner?” he leered at her. Sango sighed.
“Is that not why you are here? To eat?” she snapped. His eyes narrowed at her before he stood.
“I know when I am not wanted.” He snapped back at her. Sango rolled her eyes at his immature attitude. She turned to leave, but not before he grabbed her arm. She turned to him, about to demand he release her before she rammed her fist into his face.
At this time InuYasha strolled to the café, his hands in his pant’s pockets whistling an off key tune. He was going to see Sango, maybe steal a little kiss before heading back to work. He had a note in his pocket for Kagome from his brother. He would never have guessed his emotional constipated brother was capable of writing love notes. At least, that was what he thought it was…he didn’t have the balls to look.
He looked up to see Sango being stared down by some punk male. His amber eyes narrowed in irritation, the thought of someone hitting on his woman making his stomach turn. Sango made a move to leave but the male grabbed her arm. This really made InuYasha see red as he hurried his steps towards the pair. He reared back in shock when the man pulled Sango flush against him and slammed his lips down on hers. He felt a small jolt of pride when Sango struggled back from the unknown male. His steps increased in pace as he hurried towards them. From the corner of his eye he could see Kagome pull up short before the look of fury crossed her face. He almost stumbled at the look of death on her face as she too headed to the pair.
Unfortunately, for either InuYasha or the ‘asshole’, Scott, Kagome reached the pair first. Her fist reared back and landed in the face of the unknown male. InuYasha snarled in frustration at the lost of the kill before composing himself. He grabbed Sango to him and buried his nose in her hair, trying to calm the beast within him.
“You asshole!” Kagome snapped at the prone male on the ground that was clutching his face. “How dare you show your face here?”
“Kagome, don’t! You’ll get arrested!” Sango said as she struggled against InuYasha’s grip.
“Who is the asshole?” InuYasha said in a quiet voice that made Sango look back to him. She blushed and looked away.
“He’s my ex, Scott” She whispered. Kagome snorted.
“A dead ex, let me at him.” She snapped before both Sango and InuYasha pulled her back.
“Save it for my brother.” InuYasha mumbled. Kagome huffed before settling for glaring at the man.
“Of course,” the man chuckled as he stood and pulled a gun from his pocket. The people around them screamed as the three stiffened. “It wasn’t bad enough you left me for her… but now both of you are doing brothers. You are nothing but a whore.” InuYasha growled at the insult but pulled up short when he remembered they were in public. There was nothing he could do to stop the psycho asshole without drawing attention to himself. He felt one of the females grip his arm, he thought it was Sango but he didn’t want to look away from the man with the gun.
“Come with me, now.” He snapped towards Sango. Kagome glanced at her friend and nodded her head quickly. She would keep InuYasha distracted till Sango could knock the shit out of the asshole.
“I’m coming, stop pointing that thing at people.” Sango mumbled as she approached him with her hands held up. InuYasha released a sound that could be called a growl but Kagome restrained him.
“She knows what she’s doing, have some trust in her.” Kagome said.
“What in the hell was she thinking with him?” InuYasha grumbled as the male dragged Sango away much to her indignation.
“I’ve asked myself that same question many times. But she knows him, she can handle this, she’ll be back before you know it.” Kagome said as they made their way to the street. They watched as Sango was shoved into a beat up car before the asshole got in as well. Wait a minute, Kagome thought as she stiffened, I recognize those guys. Those are the big boss’s men! They’re on to us!
“Shit!” InuYasha cursed as he too recognized the men in the car. The stench of the mob bosses was thick in the street making him uneasy. The clicking of a gun caused both of them to stiffen.
“Shh…” a male’s voice whispered. “Not a word, don’t turn around.” InuYasha heard Kagome whimpered as from the corner of his eye he watched the man’s arm go around her throat, the gun pressed to her ear. He had never seen her so scared before, it was unnerving.
“Let her go, bastard.” InuYasha said. “Leave them out of this.”
“Sorry,” the male said, his inky hair falling over Kagome’s shoulder as he pressed his nose against her temple. “There’s a score to settle with her as well as you and your brother. Send my regards and meet us at the BarStorm club tonight. Don’t keep me waiting.” With that he tugged Kagome back and disappeared into the crowd. InuYasha gripped his hands tightly till his nails punctured his skin.
“Fuck!” he shouted causing people to stop and stare at him in disgust. But he didn’t care. These people were fools. They only cared about their selves and not for the fact that two females were taken away by gunpoint!
He fumbled for his cell phone, pressing speed dial to his brother’s private line in the office. As soon as he heard the click he didn’t wait for his brother to answer.
“The girls have been kidnapped.” He said in a rush. There was a long pause before InuYasha heard his brother sigh.
“I know.” His brother’s voice sounded weary and it caused InuYasha some alarm.
“How?” his voice didn’t come out the way he wanted it to.
“I just received a note. They are through playing with us, and I for one, am sick of playing their games as well.”
“Well, it’s about damn time.” InuYasha grumbled. “Let’s go kick their asses so we can get our women back.” Sesshomaru’s sigh reached his ears.
“InuYasha…” he began but wasn’t allowed to finish.
“No, we are not letting the authorities handle this. Damn it, bro. We can do this; they aren’t going to turn their backs on us because we are different. We can take care of them the way they deserve to be taken care of. We can do this.”
“I hate it when you speak some common sense.” Sesshomaru sighed heavily again on the phone. “Get back to the office, the shipment just came in from home.” InuYasha perked.
“They came? And no one got possessed?” Sesshomaru snorted.
“The sealing spell on the blade was put on by this Sesshomaru, it will not fade.”
“Good, cause I can’t wait to shove tetsusaiga down that asshole’s throat for kissing Sango.”
“I am not going to even ask. Get back here, now.”
“Yeah, yeah, fluffy, I hear you.” InuYasha shut his phone before racing to his car. They had plans to make, and by tonight, the truth would be out. They would bust up in the place, heads would roll, and they would leave with their females tossed over their shoulders. The girls would be upset briefly about being lied to and having something this big kept from them, but InuYasha was ready to show Sango the benefits of being with a hanyou. She thought his stamina last night was something? She hadn’t seen anything yet.
The men struggled against the two females trying to escape. They grunted against their well placed powerful kicks, the guns pointed at them doing nothing to stop them from struggling. The man with inky hair grabbed the smallest of the females and pushed a gun to her ear again.
“You may think you’re bulletproof.” He whispered in her ear, “But I bet my bullet will still go through your head if I put it in your ear.” Kagome stilled under the threat, never really giving a thought to death by bullet through the ear. She never wanted to find out if it was true or not either. Sango had heard the same because she was currently subdued by the asshole the same way.
“Asshole.” Sango grumbled before hissing when he hit her.
“Don’t rile them up.” The boss stepped into the room. “I hate for her to burn the place down.”
“You are full of yourself.” The asshole, Scott said. “There is no way in hell these two are the Elementals. I’ve known them for years and I still say you got the wrong chicks.” Kagome narrowed her eyes on him as did Sango. Both females felt their tempers rise. The temperature in the room began to stagger about, one second you could see your breath, the next you felt as if your skin would melt off.
“Enough!” the crimsoned eye man hit Kagome causing her to topple forward. She hit the ground with a groan. Sango stopped immediately upon seeing her friend go down. The man stepped forward and kicked the side of Kagome’s face causing her to skid across the floor. Sango screamed.
“Leave her alone!” A fist connected with the side of her face. She felt the bones crack in her cheek bone. She was confused, how was it that before they were invincible but now things were hurting them? Was it because their emotions were so riled up?
“Take that one.” The boss pointed to Sango, “And set her up for the youngest Takahashi brother. And take that one,” he pointed to Kagome. “And set her up for the eldest.”
“Do not let your guards down, they will kill you.” The crimson eyed man said as he handed Kagome over. She groaned as she was roughly dragged the opposite way from Sango. Her sapphire eyes sought out her friends dark ones as she felt tears well up. She was scared, damn it and she didn’t like it.
Sango was dragged to a back room and tied to a chair with chains. They felt heavy and cold against her skin as she struggled.
“Why are you doing this?” she demanded to the boss. He shrugged.
“I just want the Takahashi brothers out of my way. Ever since they got here they have been drawing support from the city’s people, taking away my loyal support.”
“You mean your fearful support! You just manipulate people for their money! Promising them protection from something that doesn’t exist as long as they continue to abide by your rules.” She hissed at him. He hit her across the face, the pain of being hit in her broken cheek bone causing tears to leak from her eyes.
“Not only am I getting rid of the Takahashi brothers, but I’m going to control you and your little partner. No one will dare cross me with the Elementals backing me. Consider this killing two birds with one stone. Or should I say, four?” he laughed at her look of outrage.
“Kagome and I will never follow you.” She spat out. He grinned out her, the asshole coming around to keep a gun pointed on her.
“Well see. You’ll be singing a different tune before long. If not,” he shrugged. “Oh well, your loss is my gain.” He went to leave the room as she began to struggle again. She felt the gun connect with her face and went limp. She quietly cried to herself, wondering what in the hell she was going to do. She had to get out of there before InuYasha came. She knew he would try to save her, but she could never watch anything bad happen to him. Damn it, she had fallen in love with the idiot!
“Why?” she whispered brokenly as she avoided the asshole’s gaze. “Why did I have to fall in love with you?”
Kagome stared at the ground from her position tossed over the man’s shoulder, his boney shoulder drug painfully in her sore gut from another well place kick. She grunted against the pain as they started to go up a flight of stairs. She was dizzy from being upside down, all the blood rushing to her head.
“You think four stories are enough to kill if we tossed her?” the guy holding her said. She heard the crimson eyed male chuckle.
“I’m sure it would be enough. Especially if she is weighed down enough so she can’t fly away.” His laugh was dark as they came through a door to the roof top. It was night; a chill was out causing a bite to make its way into Kagome’s bone. Usually she would take comfort from the cold but tonight she felt nothing but heartache. This was all a plot to kill Sesshomaru and InuYasha. They were the bait, and in the process of getting the brothers they happened to stumbled across their identities.
“What do you want to do with her?” the guy asked as one of his hands slapped her ass. She hissed at him, her breathe visible in the air. She was tossed down, her head making a sick crack against the concrete roof. Black dots danced across her vision as she felt blood fill her mouth.
“Take the chains.” The crimson eyed man said. “Make sure they are tight and dangle her from the hangover.” Kagome felt herself being rudely tossed around and her stomach protested the movement. She was going to be sick.
“She doesn’t look too good, boss.” The guy said. The crimson eyed man shrugged.
“She’s probably got a concussion from you tossing her around. But it doesn’t matter; it will make it easier to bend her to my will. The boss thinks he will get control of the city with them. He doesn’t think big enough. Soon, he will be dealt with and I can move on to my own plans. These two are strong; they will help me achieve world conquest.” He laughed, the sound grating on Kagome’s nerves as she felt herself being hung over the ledge of the roof. She opened her eyes briefly to look, her stomach dropping at the site of the plunge.
“Afraid of heights?” the other male laughed. Kagome snorted, her vision still dancing with black dots.
“I should ask you that, because I will be tossing you over the side before you know it.” She answered. He stiffened at the insult and made a move to hit her but was stopped.
“Enough, she is trying to rile you up. Now, watch for the Takahashi brother, I will remain back so he doesn’t know I’m here till it’s too late.” The crimson eyed man faded into the shadows. He smirked, knowing that tonight the two pairs of lovers would be in for a rude awakening. The ultimate betrayal, all four of them were keeping secrets from each other and it was time to reveal them. It would cause a fight, the Takahashi brothers would die and the females would be heartbroken over it. He would step in, sweet talk them and then…he laughed. He may have failed 500 years ago to take over the world, but he was doing it the wrong way then. That blast he created had been an accident, but he never thought he would see fruit from it. Now, he had these two wonderfully powerful females to control. Life, could not be any better.
InuYasha stepped from the vehicle, his amber eyes glancing up at the tall building that was known as the BarStorm club. He could hear the music pouring from the basement where humans basically had orgies on the dance floor. He wore dark jeans with black vans. A battered sword was tied to his waist. He also wore a tight red muscle shirt under a black leather jacket. His brother stood beside him. Sesshomaru’s eyes were also trained on the building. His senses spreading out to see exactly how many humans were inside. He wore black slacks and black combat boots. A white top was under his black combat coat. Two swords were strapped to his waist and one of his hands fell to a hilt.
“Well,” InuYasha broke the silence. “I have to admit, I never thought we would be doing this. I thought we retired our swords centuries ago.”
“Hn.” Sesshomaru said. “It would never last.” Both brothers stiffened as they felt something tease the edge of their awareness.
“Is that what I think it is?” InuYasha swore under his breath.
“Indeed.” Sesshomaru answered, “There is a demonic aura coming from the building.”
“Damn.” InuYasha said. “Well, I say we split up. I will go find Sango and kill everything that gets in my way.” Sesshomaru rolled his eyes.
“Deal.” He said as he stepped towards the building, his nose already seeking Kagome’s jasmine scent.
“First one with their woman wins.” InuYasha said with a grin before he took off towards the building.
“Fool, this is not a game.” Sesshomaru said as he too headed towards the building.
