Worlds clash

To pass the time and to ignore Yusuke and Kuwabara’s bickering, Kurama thought back to how he and Kuronue met Shizuka.

((Flash back))

They were going on one of their ‘trips’ and found a large mansion. The lowest entrance was over 50 ft up and the doors were huge and heavy. They were about to give up when Kuronue found a small entrance that was about one foot high and about two feet wide with metal bars closing it off.

“Kurama will you do the honors?” Kurama nodded and used the pollen from a plant to make an acid that melted the bars. Kuronue was the first to slide through when he stopped dead. They were in a prison cell or a dungeon. Kurama slid in behind him.

“What is it Kuronue?”

“We are in a prison cell. There is no door.”

“Well then lets just go to the next mansion.” They turned to leave when both came face to face with a young vixen. She looked half starved and that she had been here for a while. Her face was bruised and her lips chapped and bleeding. Her eyes looked at them with wide hopeful eyes. Begging them to save her.

“What is your name?” ask Kuronue. She started to move one of her legs and used it to write in the dust and dirt her name. The other leg was swollen and looked like there was an infection inside. “Shizuka?” She nodded slightly.

“How long have you been here?” She shook her head.

Kurama took Kuronue off to the side. “Lets get her out of here. Maybe once she gets better she could tell us how to get in here and we can get some real good stuff!”

“Sounds like a plan you undo the chains with that acid of yours.” Kurama nodded and the Kuronue supported her as Kurama melted the chains. Once the support was gone she collapsed into the arms of Kuronue.

They brought her out of the cell and Kuronue kept her in his arms. Carrying her bridal style he brought her to the closest bedroom, which happened to be his.

“Does anything hurt?” Kuronue asked hoping that she could feel pain in her leg. If she did it would mean that the nerve endings are still intact. Luckily his hopes were confirmed. She moved her hand and pointed to her leg. “Ok well I know your name but you don’t know mine. My name is Kuronue.” She did a hand movement. “What does that mean?”

“I think that is her way of saying your name.” Kurama came in holding a bowl of water and foul smelling mix of plants. “She is a mute.” Shizuka nodded.

“Oh. Well I’ll hold her top half of her body. You work on her leg.” Kurama nodded and Kuronue sat up behind her and held her down. She wrapped her arms around him, closed her eyes and snuggled into his chest as if doing so would lessen the pain. Kurama pilled out a small dagger and took some of the smelly green goop and rubbed it up and down her leg. After a few seconds he asked.

“Can you feel you leg now?” She shook her head. “The plant mixture is a numbing medicine. You still will feel pressure of me working on your leg. You may feel slight pain, but it won’t be as bad as going with out it.” She nodded showing that she understood. He used the dagger and cut into her the leg. She whimpered softly and Kuronue began to stroke her back. Using some of his ki to help comfort her. Shizuka snuggled more and Kurama cleaning out the puss into a small tub. The process took over three hours to clean the wound, mend the break, and patch it back up. Kurama cleaned up his mess and grabbed a pleasant smelling flower and used it to freshen up the room. Shizuka had fallen asleep in Kuronue’s arms and snuggled closer. Kuronue himself had fallen asleep from using up a good deal of his ki. Kurama smiled at them as then snuggled close to each other.

((End Flash Back))

Kurama looked up at the sky and noticed that they had been walking for nearly half the day. He saw the village up ahead and stopped when he saw who was waiting at the edge of town.

“Shizuka…”
