Chapter 4: Yura of the Demon Hair and the Half-Demon Slave


I lay there my breath coming in gasps as the blood of my body fell on to the ground as the hair tightened more and more. I didn’t even hear Inuyasha who was coming in this direction due to the hair across my ears binding them down to my skull. Though I did not notice I was actually making soft whimpering sounds in the back of my throat as I still writhed as I tried to get out of the bounds of hair.


Then I felt hands on me shaking me and a high whimper broke out as I opened my eyes slowly due to the pain. As my vision cleared I saw it was Inuyasha who was holding me up and looking at me with a worried look. Then I moved my lips and could feel what I said to him. “Bound by hair across my ears, body, arms and legs. Can not move or hear.”


Inuyasha blinked and then looked across my body instantly noting where bloody lines were on my skin. He then brought up a claw and as I watched sliced it down my body, even though I gave a large whimper at that my hands were free and wriggling out of his grip I brought up my own claws and sliced off the rest of the hairs bounding my legs and ears to my body. I then sighed a sigh if relief as I could hear again and turned to Inuyasha. “Thanks, I felt trapped like that so you came in the nick of time.”


Then Inuyasha grabbed me by the arms and bought my face close his scowling “Where is Kagomi?” I blinked at him and pointed to the well as a blush went across my face. He then left go “Well.” I swallowed and went over the well to look down it my blush fading as I stared thoughtfully in to the well. “Inuyasha she fell in to the well but I heard at the time no body hitting the floor of the well so I am wandering if she disappeared?” Inuyasha came over to look in the well as well. “Well whatever it is we are going to go get her!” ~Did he just say we?~ I blinked as Inuyasha grabbed my arm “Here we go!” and then we both jumped in to the well.


I did not shut my eyes as we fell even though I felt as through I was going to through up when a blue light came around us and we landed on the floor of the well. My ears then twitched and my nose wrinkled as the scents had changed the rustling of trees had disappeared. I stood up next to Inuyasha who was also getting used to it all and looked up at the top of the well. I then jumped up slashed at the boards on the top of the well and perched on the lip as I looked around.


I then felt Inuyasha leap up beside me “you’ve gotten stronger.” I looked out the corner of my eye at him “Yeh, partly because of what happened before…” He winced at that but did not say anything he then stood up straight as I leaped down and straightened as I walked towards to door. “Don’t worry about what happened before as I know there will be a lot worse that will happen because of the Jewel.” I then opened to door and stuck my head out with my ears trained forward as I sniffed the air for any humans close by, though all I could hear was humans in the shrine in front of us and Kagomi’s scent which was around the whole area.


“Hump, we would not be in this predicament if it wasn’t for her breaking the Jewel.” I pulled my head back inside and looked over my shoulder at him as I sighed. “Inuyasha I could have accidentally broken it the two times I held it so don’t put all the blame on her ok.” I then opened the door fully and stepped out as did Inuyasha both wary of anyone seeing us. “Hey what did Yura want with you?” I stiffened as he asked that and stopped at the door to the house as I turned to him. He was looking puzzled “Well she tied you up and left you so I was just wandering why?” I sighed as I took a step beside him “I will tell you after Yura is dealt with ok the memory’s are fuzzy at best and not complete?” I then looked at him and he nodded as he moved towards the door and I followed knowing he would bug me after Yura of the Hair was dead.


Then we were walking through the wooden hallway and he opened the sliding door with a bang a frown on his face as he looked down upon Kagomi. I then slid in from behind him “Sorry about this” I then waved at the grandfather, mother and the kid as I rubbed the back of my neck with a slight smile on my face. “Inuyasha? Shade?” I then looked at Inuyasha and put a hand up to my head as my ears drooped “Idiot! Who told you, you could go home!” I looked up at him and walked to the side of him and everyone’s attention went on me as I poked him in the chest “You did remember?” He looked down at me and then huffed as he looked back at Kagomi as I crossed my arms as snorted at him.


“Uhh, but ,uh where did you” She looked lost for words as she looked at him “Through the well of course!” She looked stunned as I watched and I just shook my head ~Very nicely done Inuyasha just barge in to a family meal and yell at her “The well? But uh the well is…” Then the Grandfather spoke up as he stood up “You lie, I made those spirit wards myself, theirs no way you could have…” I cleared my throat and held up one of the wards that was in my hand. “You mean these pieces of paper which I sliced through without any trouble?” He looked at he ward in my hand “I hate to break it to you old man but they don’t work” I looked over at Inuyasha as the old man burst in to tears and shrugged my shoulders when he looked over at me helplessly.


“Grandpa!” The poor boy looked a bit humiliated at the old man. Then Inuyasha grabbed a hold of Kagomi’s arm and began to pull her back towards the well as I followed. “Come on you where leaving.” I then stopped as Kagomi pulled back all of a sudden “No you can’t make me!” I huffed and then turned as I watched the mother stand up angrily out the corner of my eyes. “Stay right there!” I was right beside Inuyasha helping him pull Kagomi when the command came from the mother. “Now what” I looked round at her as well “What you want?” She came up to us and stopped in front of me “Mum I…” Then I stiffened as she first touched my ears “Those ears” and then Inuyasha’s ears “are they real?” I shivered as I moved out of her range the sensitivity of my ears too much.


Inuyasha just looked startled and horrified at the same time, then the lad came up in front of me trying to touch my ears as I hid behind Inuyasha my ears flat on my head “Me next me next!” Kagomi looked like she didn’t want to know her family for the embarrassment they were putting her through. “uh, mum that’s not really cool!” I just put my head on the doorframe as I watched what was happening though I noticed Inuyasha was growling under his breath. “Though I did it too but” I then looked down at myself and saw new strands of hair had curled around my body I gulped and looking back at the preoccupied people went back to the well.


I went inside my ears pieced for any sound as my eyes looked for movement as I walked down the stairs to the bottom step. I could feel the tugging of the hair and was resisting it until I heard the door that I had closed open. I turned round to see Kagomi at the top and my ears perked forward at her. “Shade watch out!” I blinked at her then hair slid around me “Kagomi! Inuyasha!” I tried to get away but the hair around my waist pulled me back and caught me up in part of the big amount of hair that had come out of the well and began to drag me back even though I was fighting every step of the way.


Then Inuyasha came in through the doors and looked shocked at what he could see. “Inuyasha be careful” He looked down at me even as more lines of blood from the hair was opened on my skin and tried to come after me even as I shook my head as I was pulled back further to the edge of the well. “Kagomi sees the hair as well, both of you work together to get rid of the hair.” I then winked and even as both of them shouted for me to hold on I let myself be dragged back through the well.


“I WILL BE SAFE FOR NOW, BE CAREFUL YOU TWO!” Then a flash of blue light and I was pulled all the way to Yura more tied up than before though my ears were free this time. I was pulled quite a way though I could not see because this time she had bound my eyes. After about 5 minutes I would have to say I was pulled through something and felt the loss of the moon light on my back. I then was pulled upright my arms and legs bound to my body again. “Oh you naughty, naughty little girl after all I did to keep you out of the way you still got in the way of my hair.” I tugged at the hair binding me as I writhed in the bounds. “Well if the hair had not chocked me I would not have struggled to escape!” I could feel her move in front of me and the hair slid of off my eyes and saw her holding a red skull in her hand as she stroked it with the other. “hu huh, they will be back any minute only we will not let them run away this time will we? hu huh”


I was then pulled outside of the cave and bound to a ball of hair near the middle so I had a perfect view of everything. “comfortable?” I pulled back my lips in the threatening gesture “You wish!” She just smiled and then looked away from me “They are coming!” She then looked back at me as she moved along her hair “Do give them a warm reception.” I snarled as I through myself against the hair as I tried to get her and she just laughed as she was lifted away by her hair.


I then heard the cry of Inuyasha and looked up as he was spread-eagled in front of me “Huh?” I saw he had just noticed the hair but would not be able to see me through the hair that had covered me over. “A giant hairball? Yura’s hiding place!” I tried to look for Kagomi but could not see her from my position though I was snarling quietly and I kept on tugging at the hair making it go deeper and more blood run down my body.


Then I heard Yura come and land on the hairs as she looked down at Inuyasha and Kagomi. “Oh my look at you doggy!” She smirked as Inuyasha kept pulling at the hair “You must be Inuyasha!” She then began to walk down the hair to where I was and I suddenly felt the hair constrict around my neck causing me to gag and loose the strength in my neck. “and you must be Yura of the hair! Howed you no my name?” She smiled as she reached were I was “Lets just say a little birdie told me everyone’s saying half demon Inuyasha’s playing fetch with some reincarnated shrine maiden and another Half-Demon!”


She then reached through the hair that parted for her and looked satisfactory at my body, which was not fighting at the moment. “Me with that half wit human down there nothing to it!” She then drew me out and bound me to the ball my head still hanging as I tried to breath through my crushed windpipe “Oh?” She then turned and pulled out the shard from the bag it had been in. “Your both half wits to me, just look what you’ve done to the poor Jewel.” She had a sad look as she held the Jewel but then she stepped away from me and I was bared.


“What, What have you done!” She looked back at him as he gave a glare of loathing at Yura, then Yura turned back and ran her hand through my hair “Don’t you touch her!” She then turned back to Inuyasha as she climbed up the hair to her previous position. “I am just making sure pretty cannot run away like she did 70 years ago when I slay her family.” No body had noticed I had moved my head nor that my eyes had opened again and I was slowly moving myself out of the hair that bound me.


“That is the Jewel she stole from me.” I looked down at Kagomi who I could see now and saw she looked very worried. “Once I have the rest of you wrapped up I will go and find the rest of the Jewel for myself.” She looked very pleased at this and still did not notice as I got one of my arms free of the hair. “You take care of me! When this is over you are going to wish you had never met me or ever heard my name!” I then turned my head and saw Inuyasha had gotten free. With him going at Yura I struggled a bit more ignoring the hair around my neck and got the other arm free.


“Oh no not this again!” I looked up at Inuyasha and my eyes widened at seeing Yura behind him “Such pretty hair but you really haven’t taken care of it very well look at the split ends!” I growled as best I could as I got the top part of my chest free and grabbed on to a top part of the ball to keep myself from slipping and alerting Yura to my plan as I new she would strangle me until I could not more and bound me again or even kill me.


“Get of off me!” I had wriggled the bottom part of my body free and was working on my legs when I heard Inuyasha cry out, I looked up and had to hold in my cry as I saw the blood from his wound dripping from the slash from his right leg up to his right shoulder. I gulped as I watched his fall forward for a second and then right himself. I then tried again a bit faster to get my legs out of the hair.


“I’m going to cut you in to little pieces.” I looked up again as I got my right foot free and worked on the left at her and stuck out my tongue as she licked the weapon, she gave me the creeps doing that. Then as she was going to strike an arrow went in front of her, “Get Inuyasha down right now!” I then smirked as Kagomi stood up to Yura and concentrated on getting my foot out of the hair when it slipped free and I looked up as I slid down to the ground “The girl who fell in the well!” I then began to run to where Kagomi was “You heard me!” I was panting as the hair around my neck began to get tighter but I was nearly there.


“Ohh, I think she want you back Inuyasha what a sweet widdle doggy you must be!” I was panting as I neared the point where I could jump and protect Kagomi from Yura’s attack “I told you to hide, not draw attention to yourself!” I had climbed up to where Kagomi was and was now running along to where she was ~gotta hurry, gotta hurry, shit this hair around my neck hurts!~ “Of course her hairs not so pretty as yours Inuyasha but then waste not want not!” I was panting as I started to slow my air constriction getting even tighter “Not so pretty as his huh, what would you know about it anyway? You live in a world where they don’t even have shampoo” I finally got to Kagomi’s side and stopped to pant and I raised a hand to my bloody neck where the hair had tightened immensely when the arrow Kigomi had just fired had hit the hairball.


I was panting even harder and Kigomi held me as I nearly stumbled as I tried to get air then my ears twitched as I took all my effort and looked up at Yura “Oh no, what have you done!” I looked over at the ball I had been trapped in and shuddered as I watched all the skulls fall I them turned to Kagomi after seeing Yura’s distress. “Kigomi!” She looked at me her hand still over her mouth in horror. “I know what is controlling the hair but I need you to cover yourself fully with the fire rat top Inuyasha cave you!” She looked at the top and then at me “Why?” Then I grabbed her shoulders. “Just do it if you don’t want to be a cooked Kagomi when Yura uses her fire magic on you!” Then she nodded and went to do as I said.


Then I turned around breathing through a nearly closed windpipe and began to run with all my speed towards the hairball that had cracked open. “Those guys we saw from the village!” I looked up at where Inuyasha was and saw Yura had began to move at this time I had reached the hair and was hiding behind it as Yura went for Kagomi “I’ll be putting you in here too once I separate that pretty hair from your head, it’s wasted on you anyway!” Then when she was facing away from me I began to climb up the hair my breaths coming in pants as I pulled myself up ignoring the amount of blood that was coming out of my neck at that time.


I then glanced back at Kagomi and groaned as best I could ‘She had not done as I had asked her’ I sighed and carried on climbing for the item I knew was pulling the strings or as I should say hair. “One this first! That woman over there has to die!” I looked over and my eyes widened as I realised I could not do anything to help then I suddenly reached for my throat my eyes closing as the hair had nearly succeeded in breaking of my breathing. “There how did that hot enough for you? You will feel the heat right down to your bones!”


I looked back my mouth open so I could breath and looked horrified as two images played over my eyes of my family burning as well as Kagomi, I then looked back up and saw my target ‘I must get it to save her life’. “Aww, that’s for emptying out my layer!” I was getting closer but the hair was wrapping around my arms and legs as I moved. “Huh?” I moved a bit closer “Pity there will be nothing left but ash.” I was dragged a bit back by the hair that was climbing up my body “No way” I gritted my teeth as the hair pulled me further into it “Poor thing, I almost forgot pets are never allowed to outlive their masters!” I gritted me teeth and pulled myself free a bit more to grab the item I had seeked “Blades of Blood!” I looked down to see Inuyasha put his claws in to his blood and coat them and then through one of his other attacks at Yura and it cut off her hand as she cried out in shock of the attack.


“That’s no fair!” I started to man over down the hair while still dodging the strands that would grab at me as I would pass by them “There how you like that? Serves you right!” I had got about halfway down when my foot was caught and began to be slowly dragged inside the suffocating hair. “You should use some restraint when addressing a lady, were you brought up in a dog house?” I tried to pull my foot away but my other foot had been caught as well and I was being slowly but surely dragged inside “Head’s up!” I looked up as some of the skulls were used by the hair to go after Inuyasha who was caught in the hair still.


“Stay still it’s much harder to hit when you move.” I snorted at that as I still tried to escape from the hair that was now up to my knees. “Yeah, I’ll just bet it is.” I was beginning to panic as I realised I could not get free as it climbed higher up my legs. “Half-Demon half power I should have known just like your friend who is slowly but surely going to be killed by my hair.” I then cried out as the hair got up to my hips my panic growing. Inuyasha tried to get up flames of anger in his gaze “Why you!” I was still looking for a way out when I noticed movement over where Kagomi was. “Disappointed? I bet you were hoping to use this to become whole Demon.” Inuyasha looked up from where he was trapped to the ground at Yura fury in his gaze.


“The Jewel of Four Soul’s!” I looked down at Kagomi and smiled as she was moving at last “Now stay still! If I don’t get a clean cut your blood will stain that pretty silver hair of yours!” I snarled at her as she was ready to cut of his head as well as the hair, which was over my stomach now. “Don’t you wish!” Then I heard her cry out but knew if my memories were correct that I had tried that myself that the red skull in my hand was the only way to kill her. “Huh, that’ll teach ya!” I pulled myself up trying to get free as whimpers sounded through my throat as my body could not move. “Why I never!”


I looked up my breathing hard as the hair tightened in her anger “A half Demon I just met digging his hand in my chest?” I breathed hard as the hair climbed more and looked towards Kagomi to see her sitting up and holding her head. “Plus is the fact you stole my Jewel, now I have become cross!” I swallowed and pulling myself up as far as I could “Hey Yura!” She stopped what ever it was she was going to do and turned to look up at me. “I thought that I was the main reason you had returned to punish me for running away!”


She kept on looking and then turned her head back to Inuyasha “I will deal with you later after I have taught my pretty some manners.” She then got up and was about to come up to me when she felt something on her hair she then turned round and saw it was that girl. “Kigomi here, destroy this!” She looked up as I waved the red skull at her that was in my hand as I sunk in further up to my neck and armpits although one of my arms was already under the crushing weight of the hair.


I could hear the sounds of fighting but the hair was dragging me in further now and black spots were dancing in my vision as the hair cut off all my air. Then I noticed that Yura was coming at me with the sword of hers until Inuyasha slashed at her getting her away from me. By now all I had up was my face as the black spots dotted my vision. I could not hear at all and it was making me go in to a full out panic whimpers fell from my throat as I tried to move. I then was sucked in more and then could not breath.


I was dark as anything with no light, no air except whet I could feel on my hand that still held the red skull when I felt hands on the skull. I let go hoping it was Kagomi and as I was fading felt my arm being drawn in up to the hand and closed my eyes as I began to fade away from that body.


/Not yet\ I felt like something had jolted me as I gasped in pain as I opened my eyes to find that all the hair was not constricting me anymore, I then pushed the hair off gasping and found the red skull in front of me. I then looked up and saw Yura was going to use her sword on Inuyasha so with my gasping breath I picked up the arrow next to me and began banging the sharp end in to it all I was worth. “Stop that!” I did not stop even as I felt the hair fully constrict around my neck letting me gasp one more breath.


Inuyasha and Kagomi were coming over as fast as I could but I still banged the arrow as hard as I could in to the skull and just as I felt the sword go straight through me the arrow hit home and inside the skull a comb of red snapped in to two pieces in a blinding flash of light Yura faded. I was gasping after the hair had come loose and brought up a clawed hand to my neck where blood was running down.


“Are you ok?” I looked up at Kagomi and swallowed as I shook my head. “Inuyasha?” I looked up at him as he came over and squatted beside me on his hunches as he held his arm “Will you take the sword out of my back as it is a bloody pain!” He blinked his eyes and moved behind me, then I felt a yank, a flash of pain and a sigh of relief came from me as I rolled my shoulders ignoring the pain of my wounds as I stood up with the help of Kagomi.


Then Kigomi kneeled down and picked up one of the snapped ends of the comb. “So that’s what Yura was!” I looked up at Inuyasha and moved over to him as he swayed “Yura was a comb?” I then looked at her “After all you’ve seen since you’ve been here are you surprised?” I nodded at this “I agree I’ve only been here a week and 3 days and I am quite used to it.” Then I frowned “Though I still keep getting strange flashbacks.” Then I looked at Inuyasha “Why would it have powers anyway?” He then looked back at the comb a tired expression on his face. “It probably has powers as it was used to comb the hair of the dead. Yura didn’t really use it so much as it used her!”


Then as Inuyasha began to collapse from his pains I held him up not that bothered about my wounds I had worse in the past. “Inuyasha!” Kagomi looked concerned but I was more worried that Inuyasha was letting me hold him, I knew he was the proud type that did not like excepting help. “That stab in your chest, it only happened because I had you Kimono!” I could feel him straighten up though he kept a great part of his weight on me “It’s no big deal, what happened to the sacred Jewel?” I looked round as did Kagomi and she walked over to Yura’s clothes to pick up the bag that held the Jewel.


“I wander how long it will take to find the rest of it?” I then helped Inuyasha take a couple of steps my mouth clamped closed to not let out the whimpers his weight hurt as he leaned on me. “Kagomi, Shade lets go.” Then Kagomi just looked at Inuyasha as he slung his Kimono on to his shoulder and looked at her over my head “What?” She looked completely shocked “You’ve never said my name before.” She then had a glimmer in her eye that looked happy even if she did not show anything. “Yeh what about it?” She then smiled as she turned to him I just stood and listened as Inuyasha took his arm of off me as he looked at her “It’s just that I think you like me more now than you did before.”


I then took a couple of steps forward ‘I think that too Kagomi’ “Don’t get excited! I still think you’re pretty useless.” I shook my head as I moved closer to Inuyasha. “Remind me next time not to save you!” I smiled a small smile at that and the face Inuyasha made as she touched his back as I went over and leaned over to grab his arm “If it hurt so much you should of said something!” I grabbed his arm and began to pull him up again “Leave me alone!” I helped him up and with me as his leaning post started our way back to the village the Jewel shard again on Kagomi.
