It had been a month since that day and snow started falling making it stand out in Kagome's raven colored hair. Kagome's clothes were no longer black and red but, gray with a pale blue obi making her fit in with the snow back drop. Her waist long hair was held back once again only this time in a low pony tail, her midnight blue eyes watched the man below her as he carried fire wood back to lady kikyo's home.

Lady Kikyo...Satan's helper is what Kagome liked to call her. She was the village priestess and was madly in love with Inuyasha. Inuyasha was always polite to her, helping her get fire wood, watching her home for demon's and anything else she asked for. Even though Kagome had choosen not to talk to Inuyasha he still talked to her and told her Kikyo was a good friend and he was willing to help her. Kagome simply snorted and looked the other way.

Kagome didn't like Kikyo, one day Kikyo had seen Kagome sitting in a tree watching out for Inuyasha and the women had shot at her. Only to have the bow knocked out of her hand when Inuyasha saw her try to shot at her again. Kagome almost went to Inuyasha that day and said thank you but, she thought killing those 5 demons that tried to kill him that day was thank you enough for him. Letting her feet hang over the branch she watch as Inuyasha came back out again he looked up into the dead tree meeting her eye's in a staring match. Breaking away he was about to start again when Kikyo ran out of her home bow in hand and walked next to him.

Kagome held back a growl as she stood up on the tree branch and fallowed the two. Kikyo or not, she was going to protected Inuyasha. That's why she had been staying in this village, every time she went to leave she would think of him and end up staying. Even if she did leave where would she go no one would take a her and yet Inuyasha let her protect him and even protected her from Kikyo's arrow's....Looking down on the pair again she noticed they had stopped and Inuyasha looked up in the tree at her, it was a silent question of do you hear anything.

Perking her ears up and listening to all noises she shook her head. Inuyasha walked on Kikyo glued to his side, when both were smacked to the side as a bear demon rammed into them. It's massive body towering over them as both, Kagome couldn't believe it how come she didn't hear it? Why didn't she smell the demon?. Forgetting those thoughts she jumped on top of the bears back, her claw nails going threw the back of its neck. Only to have its big paw reach back an smack at her as it went down, the bears claw ripped the kimono sleeve off taking her pale skin with it. Kagome gave a large yelp as she jumped from the bears back, the whole in the bears neck making him finally drop dead.

"Kagome.." Kagome's dark eyes fell on concerned yellow ones as she helded tight to her bleeding arm.

"She's a half-breed she'll be fine in an hour or so.." Kikyo hissed narrowing her black eyes on Kagome.

"Kiky-" Before Inuyasha could finish yelling at her Kagome looked back at him.

"She's right. I'll be fine, unlike unless human's i heal faster." Kagome said turning around and walking back to her normal tree, leaving a speechless protecter and smug priestess.

Kagome didn't understand she had missed hearing the bear, she didn't smell him and finally her bleeding it wouldn't stop. The 3 large gashes just kepted bleeding, thinking about the day Kagome almost became sick. The full-moon... It meant tonight she'd lose everything and when she did these cuts might just kill her. It was already sun down and it was getting later her nails were already dull.

Still bleeding, night finally had came. Kagome's fangs shrank, her claws became nails, her dog ears became human and her haunting midnight blue eyes became pale blue like frozen ice. The bleeding came in gallons now, poring from the wounds as she tried wrapping them with the other side of her kimono. So busy trying to save her own skin she missed the sound of footsteps till they were in front of her.

"Kagome, what happened?" Came a ruff male voice from above her. Kagome's eye's shot up looking into a shocked and worried face.

"Inuyasha.."Kagome said in a whisper.

Inuyasha new earlier that day something was wrong. First he had watched her almost fall out of a tree, then she had been off with the bear and now here she sat human and bleeding to death.

"Hold on Kagome, I'll be right back!" He said turning around running back to his home, throwing medican in a bag and running back to the hurt girl.

"Give me your arm." holding it out she gave a whimper when he started cleaning it and putting medican on it and finally wrapping it up.

"Oh, Kagome." pulling the hanyou now girl into his arms he held her careful of her arm.
Kagome normally didn't get comfortable on these nights but, Inuyasha made it so nice and warm in his arms. Snuggling into his arms as his arms got tigher around her, she sighed and closer her eyes.

"I won't let this happen to you again" he said to her. Both so wrapped up into each other not one of them notice the hard as ice black eyes glaring at them as snow begain to fall around them.
