At the end of the chapter there is explanations to, well, just about everything I would think you would find confusing. Tell me if you want anything added!

Last time:

He had never really gotten over Rin or Koori's death, he had loved Rin dearly. He took on mistresses after that, anyone who looked and acted like Rin or Kagome. He lay in the dust covered bed and closed his eyes, breathing in the very faint scent of Rin. Her scent remained in this room, a spell placed by a caring monk. Miroku. He had known one day he would miss his Rin, and placed it there a while after Kagome left. He missed Kagome's scent as well.

He closed his eyes, knowing the tears he desperately wanted to shed would not come. He had shed his last tears when he buried Koori and Rin's bodies. In Rin's garden, to the left of the castle, under Koori's favorite cherry tree. That is where he left those tears, and thats where they would remain. Buried with them.

Chapter 5:

Risa, sighing, pulled up to the curb and parked the car. It was a good thing that InuYasha, Shippo, and Sesshoumaru came with her to buy food. She had no idea what demons ate, nor how much. Shippo and InuYasha ate just about anything, Sesshoumaru, however, was very picky. He chose only the best of the best; the most tender and fresh meat, the spiciest most expensive gimchi, even the freshest vegetables. And, surprisingly, he managed to pay for most of it by selling some very valuable gold coins he carried about. He only sold one to pay for the entire load of groceries! He was so very...tense, though, around people. She had to appologise for his behavior to a few stuck up buisness men, saying that Sesshoumaru was a very proud and wealthy buisness man from the Americas!

Sesshoumaru had asked what the Americas was and she couldn't explain, telling him that he shouldn't try to find it. It was, after all, to be found first by Christopher Columbus, who was searching for a trade route to the East indies since the rest were taken by other countries. Spain didn't need to go into war over some trade routes. Of course Kagome knew of all this, and would probebly warn the demons about where and when things will occure. She wanted them to survive after all, but she would leave that to her daughter.

As everything was carried up the shrine steps Risa saw Kagome and Youko sweeping diligently, Miroku and Sango selling things in the gift shop, Ji and Souta organizing the storage house, and Rin and the animals tending the herb garden. Kagome smiled and waved, her shina ki shining brightly as she did the chores of a miko. Youko, though annoyed at having to do these chores with her, bowed respectfully and went back to sweeping the shrine steps. All things were going smoothly, except the random scream of 'Hentai' and a wounded Miroku whining every so often.

The Sunset shrine was quite packed today, about thirty visitors wandering about. A short dark haired boy stood off to the side, just watching. A small family was preying at the Goshinbaku. A red headed man was talking to Miroku about Buyo, whom Miroku had set on the counter. Another dark haired boy was standing with a brunette girl on his arm, looking at some ancient sculptures that had been carved into some stones near the well house. A group of children followed a blue haired woman, as she explained the importance of religion to them. A man with chin-length bangs and glasses sat near the Goshinbaku, on the other side the family was so he wouldn't be seen or something, reading. A man with long red hair bowed respectfully to her, followed by a taller man with golden-red hair.

"Higurashi-san, do you need a hand with that?" The man with bright red hair and wonderful, laughing green eyes asked. She cocked her head slightly to the side and blinked at him.

"Do I know you?" She asked and Suichi chuckled. Hiei scowled in his direction but didn't say a word. Suichi sighed and scratched the back of his head.

"I don't think you know me, Higurashi-san, but I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself. You see, I have a habit of coming to the shrine in my free time, to prey for a friend. Of course, I don't know if you have seen me at all, since it's usually at night. My name is Suichi Minamino, of course you know my okaasan, Shiori Minamino, she went to highschool with you after all." Suichi said and the man behind him nodded.

"Ah, yes, Shiori-san and you both went to the same school Suichi-chan now attends, though it's gone down hill. So accepting of absences, considering a classmate of Suichi's is always absent due to work or illness." The man with the gold-red hair said and smiled with his green-blue eyes shining brightly. "I'm Mr. Takinawa, pardon my late introduction." He said and bowed.

Kagome moved closer to Youko. "Youko-kun...Th-that man, Suichi, feels alot like you...but with someone else too. Like two souls...Do you think this is your future, maybe even reincarnation?" She whispered and Youko shook his head.

"Have a little faith in me, Kagome-chan." He murmured, pulling her close and nuzzling her neck. "I'll return to you, with Shippo-chan, I promise."

+I see Youko is very affectionate with the girl.+ Hiei snickered and Youko growled.

~Shut up you fuckin' Pyropixie...thing!~ Youko snapped, unable to think very well at the moment as he watched well...himself...whispering in Kagome's ear.

'Please, no fighting while I act, you two!' Kurama said and went back to work.

"Oh my! Suichi-chan! Of course you can help! Shippo-chan, give him your bags dear. InuYasha-kun? When you go back for the rest, take Suichi with you, would you? He's a dear friend, and can be trusted." Risa said and Kurama gloated happily in his mind about his wonderous acting skills. The golden-red haired man hurried Suichi along and went to join Hiei, though he almost tripled the short male's height.

"Damned fuckin' males everywhere...." InuYasha muttered as he led Suichi back to the car. "You keep away from Kagome, ya hear?!" InuYasha snarled at Suichi, who nodded.

"Yes, contrary to what you think, I am a perfect gentleman around women and would rather know them before dating them." Kurama said, causing InuYasha to snort.

~You are such an idiot, Suichi. Lying out right to InuYasha, of all people, he is one of Kagome's closer friends you know! He probebly knows its me! If I don't get my Kagome, damn you, I will have my revenge!!~ Youko roared, causing Kurama to sigh.

'Yes, yes, you just wait. I'll lead you to your Kagome.' Suichi said and smiled.

+Oh...Look your past self is playing with Kagome's body....+ Hiei remarked and Youko growled.

~Stupid fuckin flame head! You just wait until I can reveal myself! Then I'll attack you and find out exactly how you know her!~ Youko snapped, Suichi nodding in agreement.

'Yes, that would be lovely! Hiei! You better spill it!' Suichi snapped as well, crossing his imaginary arms over his spiritual chest.

+Oh, but it would be much more fun for Kagome to tell you...Maybe I had been her lover...or perhaps I was her first kiss...maybe I was the first person she was remotely intimate with!+ Hiei snickered and Youko growled loudly.

Kagome watched as one by one all the visitors, save Hiei and Kurama, left the shrine grounds. Hiei, often near by when he wasn't off doing god knows what, was now practicing with his sword in the back yard. Suichi was practicing as well, with a borrowed sword from the weapons rack. One would think it was illegal for them to have such weaponry, but it wasn't. Why? Because Risa and Ji both were trained in the ways of ancient fighting. Souta, awed by their ability to fight, watched the two carefully.

Risa walked outside, smiling gently. "Hiei! Hiei! You and Suichi can come in! We've got lunch ready!" She said, waving at them. "Souta, get inside and wash your hands. Look at you, you're filthy!" She lectured as she returned into the house. Souta followed, grumbling, Hiei and Suichi in tow.

Suichi glared at Hiei, wondering how she knew his name. Hiei smirked and put protective barriers around everyone's mind, can't have the fox finding out how he met them now could he? They all sat down either at the table, in the living room, or in their rooms for breakfast. Kagome sat in between Sesshoumaru and Youko, Shippo next to Youko, Rin across from Kagome, Suichi and Hiei on either side of Rin, Souta and Risa at the ends of the table, and Ji beside Suichi.

Lunch went rather well, except for a little growling between Youko and Sesshoumaru every now and then. Over the simplist things the other would get jealous; passing Kagome food, talking to Kagome, Kagome giving the other a smile. But most of all, when Suichi and Hiei caught her attention in longer conversations. Suichi would often capture her attention and hold it for a while, his dashing smiles and gentlemanly ways annoying the hell out of both the spirit Youko and the past Youko. Hiei had offered to spar with her a bit, mainly as a moving target for her arrows, Kagome, surprising him, said she would rather use varying weapons. After lunch was over everyone followed the two outside and watched as Kagome pulled out her weapon, a blue rose.

She held the rose infront of her, pressing a thorn into her thumb. "Blood rose!" She called out, and watched as the thorn morphed, taking on the majority of the rose and turning it into a slightly bloodied sword. With a flutter of blue rose petals Kagome swung at Hiei, who dodged easily. He was a fire apparition after all. He scowled, however, when a blue rose petal fell onto his skin and burned.

"Petals with purification powers, Kagome? Well, this should be interesting." Hiei said with a snort before attacking her with his own sword. Kagome easily blocked, petals following any sword movement she made. She lifted her chin and grinned, pressing down on another thorn.

"Rose whip!" She called out confidently, watching as the thorned whip wrapped around his sword. She pulled him close and punched him hard, using a technique she had seen Sesshoumaru use, replacing his poison with a slight amount of purification, sending Hiei flying backwards, his sword left with her. She flicked her wrist, dropping his sword from the whip's trap. She giggled and walked over, helping Hiei up. "I've gotten better, haven't I? You can thank Youko for most of it but the last move was definately Sesshoumaru's, though he didn't bother to teach me it." Kagome said.

Youko and Kurama were the first two to start clapping, before Sesshoumaru, then the rest. Sango ran over to Kagome, tackling her in a hug while Miroku and Shippo grinned. Kitaji and Kintaro were running circles around Hiei's feet while Kirara had found her way to her shoulder. Kagome blushed from all the attention and giggled, scratching the back of her head.

"This Sesshoumaru believes that more training is in order." Sesshoumaru announced and Kagome laughed. Youko chuckled and walked over to her, quickly followed by the rest. Kagome turned to Hiei and grinned. Hiei smirked back and crossed his arms over his chest. She had really improved over the past few months. Alot. No doubt it was due to Youko's training and Kurama's gift. Yes, he'd have to up his fighting style around her now.

She took hold of Sesshoumaru and Youko's waists and hugged them both close, too close for comfort for them both but they accepted the hug none the less. She jumped up and down and began her rambling, asking about how her fighting was and how she needed to improve. Youko chuckled and stroked her hair affectionately, causing her to giggle and grin up at him. Sesshoumaru, not to be left out, pulled her to him and murred into her ear, hugging her in public, quite a feat for the demon. InuYasha, in the background, laughed loudly, yelling about how Sesshoumaru fell for a ningen. Sesshoumaru immediately let her go, watching as Youko wrapped his own arms around her, before sending an acidic poison whip at his brother.

Hiei and Kurama decided to play dumb. "Ningen?" Hiei asked and everyone froze on the spot, except for Kagome of course.

"Shut up, Hiei, you're demon yourself, a fire apparition. Suichi-san, I can tell you got some sorta Kitsune in you, a very familiar one at that, but I can't make out exactly what you are." Kagome announced and Youko snickered. Shippo launched himself at Suichi, yelling about another kitsune to play with and such. Rin was pulling at Hiei's shirt by now, asking what and 'apparition' was. Hiei snorted and Kagome giggled.

"Apparition usually refers to a ghost, in Hiei's case it's refering to him being a forbidden child, his mother was an ice demon you know. His father was a fire demon." Kagome said and smiled at the little girl. "Hiei was suppose to be put to death as a child, but his mother took him away and gave him to some man here in ningenkai. She and her mate told everyone he had been killed, appeasing the daiyoukai who ruled over them. He was raised for about a century in the Higurashi family before I was born, then he kind of disappeared for a while. He came back about, oh, four years ago? Anyway, Hiei's relation to me is like...a great uncle, though I usually call him my cousin. Of course that's not right, since Keiko-chan is my only cousin. How is she, by the way, Hiei-chan?" Future Youko snickered in Kurama's mind. Hiei-CHAN.

Hiei snorted. "Still being chased around by the same baka, Yusuke. I can't see how she puts up with the punk, and his annoying habit of finding baka friends."

"Hiei-san, aren't you and I his friends?" Suichi asked, innocently grinning.

Hiei snorted. "Not by choice, at least not on MY part, and you know that, fox!" Suichi shrugged and tossed Shippo into the air, and moving away. Kagome screamed out Shippo's name only to see Shippo had manipulated the earth and had made a vine net ready to catch himself with. Hiei dropped his hands from his delicate ears. "What the hell were you thinking, Kagome?! Yelling while I'm right next to you!" He snarled and Youko nodded, rubbing his own ears, though they looked like human ears at the moment, it was still the same. Kagome blushed and callapsed her hands behind her back.

"Sorry Hiei-sama..." She muttered and Youko blinked. Hiei-sama is it? Kagome was looking at her toes in with a shame he hadn't seen in her before. He scowled and hit Hiei on the back of his head.

"Don't emberass her, you flame-headed runt." Youko growled out and Hiei snorted.

"She's family I can do all I want to her." Hiei said, then froze hearing how that came out. Kurama started laughing, both Youko's growled, the Inu brothers stopped fighting to either glare or look at the short man with a surprised expression. Hiei blushed and crossed his arms. "Baka hentais..." He muttered, dodging past Youko's attack on him. "I didn't mean like THAT, baka no kitsune!"

Kagome grabbed Youko's arm. "Stupid! He didn't mean it like that! Stop attacking my family, you're breaking one of my rules!!" She snapped and Youko sighed, wrapping his arms around her. He nuzzled her neck and muttered an appology, only to have her yanked away by Hiei.

"No playing with Kagome, kitsune, or I'll have to talk her mother into forbidding her from seeing you ever again." Hiei said and Sango began to growl.

"Forbid her?! You-you baka! She can choose who she wants to be with and why! It is not your place to choose for her!" She yelled, InuYasha and Miroku having to run to stop her from attacking the short demon. "Let me go! I'm just going to hurt him a little--HENTAI!!!" She screamed and slapped Miroku so hard he went flying across the yard and into a tree. "Ne...I think I hit him to hard..." She mutters as she went to check if he was ok.

"Sango-chan, its ok, Hiei wouldn't really do something so mean to me. He's family and loves me, even if he wont admit it." Kagome said and Hiei blushed, growling.

"I love no one." Hiei said and stalked off, quickly followed by a worried Kurama. Kagome giggled, since the remark reminded her of a certain Inu taiyoukai that refused to say that he had any sort of true love, or even affection, towards anyone. No one noticed Kurama stop for a moment to set a worried set of eyes on Kagome. No one noticed his eyes flash gold. And no one, with the exception of a certain silver fox, noticed him drop a few seeds onto the ground.

Kuronue grinned. "Aww, Youko-san's jealous of the little runt!" The Koumori just about purred out before jumping out of the way of the kitsune's punch.

"Shut up you damned Okinawa!" Youko growled out at his friend before his eyes looked at the seeds on the ground. He couldn't control that type of plant, so it was definately not his future self, or so his thoughts told him. This was the future, and apparently it was run mostly by humans, but the humans, for the most part, had no magic. No human at all could control plants, he knew that.

For, you see, as much as one would like to believe that ningenkai was all about humanity and the people of no magic, there are the rare few exceptions. Kurama, both Youko and Suichi, is one. Youko had only the control of certain plants; roses, some trees, deadly man eating plants, and most flower-types. Suichi, however, had an amazing spirit force that was locked away, and that boosted Youko's plant controling abilities. Kurama could control any and every plant, from giant man-eating trees to a simple blade of grass.

Seeing Kagome with his past self, clinging to his arm and yelling at him, yet not really angry with him. She was scolding him like a child, waving her finger in his face and lecturing him on her set of rules once more. Kurama couldn't help but want to protect her, and love her. His plants would watch her for him, call him if he was needed, though he knew he wouldn't be. Youko and Sesshoumaru could handle any demon-or human-that came their way, even without killing. He'd been through this before. Lived through that life and still held the memories. He could not interfere much more with his own past, or it could ruin it all.

Kagome, by now, had finished her scolding and was dancing around, playing with Shippo and Rin. Sesshoumaru watched as Rin fell, and stood, ready to go help her up, only to be beaten by Kagome. Kagome lifted Rin off the ground and kissed the scrape on her knee. Why would she do that? Must be some human thing. Shippo lifted up his arms to be picked up as well and Kagome did so, carrying them on either hip. Youko hovered over them protectively, and Sesshoumaru sighed, sitting back down. Youko was the first to mark her, meaning he had a higher ranking then him when it came to her.

"Baka, don't hold more than you can handle." Youko said, taking Shippo, who squirmed and started babbling about more kitsune training. Kagome scowled at Youko and took Shippo back.

"If I can carry a three hundred pound backpack I can carry two seventy-five pound kids, thanks." She said and started walking towards InuYasha, who was currently in a one sided argument with Miroku.

"You god damned lech! How many times do I gotta tell ya, bastard?! Quit feelin' up Sango and maybe she'll like ya!" He yelled and Miroku chuckled.

"Ah, but InuYasha, you wouldn't know much about women, would you? I mean you couldn't hold on to Kagome, with you're running around behind her back with Kikyo and all..." He said and Kagome froze, turning abruptly and changing her course, straight into the house.

Sango 'dropped' her Hiraikotsu directly on Miroku's head. "Baka no Houshi!!! She was right there!! She just got over him and y-you--" She couldn't finish. Her eyes weld up with tears and she quickly knocked him out and she headed after Kagome, only to be stopped by her mother. "What are you..."

Risa shook her head and nodded towards Sesshoumaru and Youko who were both entering the house. "Let's leave them be for now."

!!**!! Inside !!**!!

Kagome sat on the floor in her room, watching the children draw their pictures with some crayons she got them. She sighed lightly and ignored Youko and Sesshoumaru as they entered the room. She didn't want to talk to any male at the moment, but she knew she'd have no choice, though she could stall for a bit. Youko curled his arms around her shoulders, pressing his cheek to hers, while Sesshoumaru sat against the wall, watching her.

"I will not forgive him for hurting you, Kagome-chan." Youko said, nuzzling her slightly. "I will get him for this, and he will know suffering like no other." He added before Sesshoumaru growled a bit.

"He is and has been my prey, boy, you know this well." Sesshoumaru said and Youko nodded.

"Hai, yours until he hurt Kagome-chan. Rightfully, he should die by her hands, but she will not kill him, so as her first ranking suitor, I will kill him." Youko said and Kagome shook her head.

"No killing InuYasha. He does this alot, besides, didn't I tell you before, I'm use to it?" She said and Youko sighed. "InuYasha loves Kikyo, I know he does, even if she's a freaky golem thingy. That takes a special kind of love, you know? If I were to come back as she did, and wanting to kill either of you, I doubt either of you would still see me as the same Kagome just by my face. No, he sees her face and knows he can't hurt her. He sees her face in mine, and so he sometimes is very affectionate with me, and very possessive. As I've been told it's a inu youkai thing, is it not, Sesshou-kun?" She asked, turning her eyes to him for a moment.

Sesshoumaru nodded, dropping his illusion spell to stretch for the moment. "Hai, we inu mate for life, usually, unless we cannot have who we desire the most. If we cannot have that one we find females who are similar to that one, sometimes more than one. This is how my father gained InuYasha's mother. She had a very similar personality to my own mother, who had died only a decade after my birth."

Kagome nodded. Youko sighed. "Unlike the inu, we kitsune mate for life completely. If we fall in love we wait, surviving the best we can until we can woo that one female or she mates another. Even then, some don't take a mate after that. Feelings and emotions run deep with kitsune, as you can tell with your own kit."

Shippo nodded as he gave Rin a red crayon. "Hai, okaasan, we cling to one person at a time. My okaasan and otousan died, so all I have left is you and our pack, you know, and I'm going to out live you all before finding a mate, most likely. We kitsune have a kind of sense, otousan said, that when that special someone comes along we'll know. It's why I don't scratch Youko-sama's eyes out." He said, grinning up at Kagome. Youko and Sesshoumaru both snorted.

"As if you could scratch me, yet, kit. Wait until you're older." Youko said, resting his chin on Kagome's shoulder.

Sesshoumaru smirked. "Also, your okaasan can turn her favor from the kitsune and to another, even if he has fallen in love with her. She could reject either of our courting marks and take on another's, say the little fire apparition's, mark. Then neither myself nor Youko-san could mark her ever again, though we would both, being of the canine family, stay around her some how. She is our pack and therefore our responsibility as males." Sesshoumaru said and found his tail draped across her lap, squirming as she pet the fluffy mass of fur. "Stop that at once, miko." He said and Kagome stuck her tounge out at him. Sesshoumaru merely glared slightly, but an amused smirk remained stuck on his face. Look at him. He'd become a soft hearted fool for the woman, but no matter. It was only around the pack mates.

"I can play with your and Youko-kun's tail all I want. I'd rather play with Youko-kun's ears though..." She said as Youko sighed, dropping his illusion spell so she could play with his ears. She did so immediately, causing Youko to sweatdrop and chuckle a little.

"Oi! Oi! Okaasan!" Shippo said, wiggling infront of Kagome, who looked down at him with an amused little grin. "'Kaasan, how come Youko has ears like that if he's full demon?" He asked and Kagome swore she heard Sesshoumaru chuckle, sure enough when she looked back at him he had a clawed hand over a smiling mouth.

Youko murred and nuzzled Kagome's neck. "My human form cannot hold my power, so I stuff the power into my hearing and sometimes my tails." Youko answered for her and Sesshoumaru nodded.

"Much as I do with my own tail." Sesshoumaru added, his tail flicking in and out of Kagome's lap for a little bit before curling back around his shoulder.

Kagome blinked. "So thats why your tail grows and shrinks! I swore, at one point, it was so big it ate your shoulder!" Kagome said as she crawled over to him and poked the fluff. Sesshoumaru sighed. Youko smirked at the sight of her rounded bottom, though it was covered by her longer skirt, it was still wonderful to see it. He wanted to grasp hold of it, but that would make him no better than the hentai monk, Miroku.

"Hai, it does grow massive some times." Sesshoumaru said, watching as she poked the fluff again. He raised an eyebrow and looked down at her, wondering what in the world she was thinking, poking his perfect tail. Mokomoko-sama, his tail, flickered, trying to grasp hold of her wrist but Sesshoumaru growled at it. "It has a...mind of its own sometimes."

"So...mokomoko-sama is alive?" Rin asked and Sessoumaru, Youko, Shippo, and Kagome all sweatdropped.

"Sure...whatever you say, Rin..." Shippo mumbled and Rin bounded over to Sesshoumaru, hopping onto his fluffy tail, which twitched a bit as she did so.

!!**!! Outside !!**!!

Risa had to actually YELL at InuYasha to keep him from rushing after Kagome, and Sango had to knock him out. Kuronue sat against the wall of the house, along with the two fire cats and the messenger, listening to the occupants of the house. AhUn, however, was slithering their way into the house.

!!**!! Inside !!**!!

AhUn flickered its tounges, searching for its master and the human girls. There was a small trace of tears, but there had only been one or two that had fallen. Rin and Shippo's scent were the strongest, being so young they had the pup smell, and were much easier to trace. AhUn grunted in its normal voice, annoyed by the strange legless body it was in at the moment. They looked at the stairs, decided it would be too hard, and started slithering up the stair railing, worrying about falling the entire time. It soon reached Kagome's door, the stupid pink thing blocking the way. AhUn hissed and 'stood', as much as he could without legs that is, and...got hit by the door while two children tumbled out, scampering downstairs. AhUn both slithered from behind the door, and hissed, scaring Kagome into latching onto the nearest object--Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru, extreamly pleased, took advantage of the situation and picked her up, carrying her down the stairs as he relayed a praise to his little dragon. Youko, growling, relayed a warning. AhUn, having two minds, got both messages. Ah looked proud and Un looked as if it feared for its life. However, both heads decided that following Rin and Sesshoumaru would be a good choice, and so they did so.

Kagome turned and followed the children to the living room, both having found the wonders of Disney movies, to Sesshoumaru and Youko's great displeasure. Seriously, Sesshoumaru didn't like this 'Little Mermaid' due to it basically teaches a child to rebel against her father for something as absurd as love. Youko didn't like 'Robin Hood' due to he was a poor theif, and Kagome had compared him to that-that idiotic fox male! A red fox at that! And so Beauty and the Beast was put on.

Of course, this was Kagome's favorite movie anyway. She knew every line, every song, every movement of each character. While they watched it the second time around Kagome got up with the children and sang the songs. Youko had a great time watching her movements, and Sesshoumaru was annoyed to death because Rin kept trying to get him to sing along. He did say 'be our guest' but thats it. That was enough for Rin. On the third playing of the tape the others piled in and watched as well, Kuronue and InuYasha joining in on the singing with Kagome and the children, simply because they heard them from outside. Soon they all had their own small parts to sing. InuYasha, hillariously, sang as Gaston; Kagome and Rin always took turns as bell and the three village girls; Shippo had fun playing 'the funny candle thing-y-majig' as Kuronue dubbed it; Kuronue played the clock, saying he so reminded him of Youko in a grumpy mood. Kagome and Shippo sang 'Beauty and the Beast' together, and midway through Kagome had picked up Shippo and she 'waltzed' with him clinging to her neck.

When Gaston died, InuYasha pouted, having liked the over confident man. As everyone sang, Risa recorded it all, even when Kagome got Youko to sing 'something there' with her, which made for a rather amusing scene where Sesshoumaru had pulled the kitsune down in the middle of the song and sang with Kagome instead. Both, still in their demon forms, were hillarious as they did this. However, they both did have wonderful singing voices, so all was well, except when Sesshoumaru was tackled by Shippo, making the poor inu youkai squeak in the middle of his part, so Youko could join back in. Eventually it got to InuYasha tackling Youko and singing the last bit with Kagome.

Eventually they stopped for dinner and then 'Brother Bear' was put in, and on the second round Rin, Shippo, and Kagome sang all the songs before becoming bored of the movie and putting in the anime 'Bleach' which was highly enjoyable for even the male youkai, and hanyou, who had been extreamly pouty throughout the entire showing of Brother Bear. Kuronue had to sit in a corner of the room to protect his hearing from the loud yells of 'Ichigo' who was very much like InuYasha. Sesshoumaru and Youko lounged on the couch, saving a spot between them for Kagome. InuYasha sat on the floor near the television, much like a child would, grinning at Ichigo's violent tendencies. It wasn't long before Souta went up to bed, followed by Risa and Ji. It was rather late, after all, very very late.

Kagome, thinking Bleach would be too violent for the children, and had too much cursing, put them to bed, along with the cats, including Buyo, and the messenger. Going back downstairs she nearly tripped over AhUn, but saw him in time. She picked them up quickly and put them in bed with the children. She winced, seeing how full her bed was, but figured Sesshoumaru and Youko wouldn't mind her in their room for the night, hell they'd be delighted. She headed down the stairs and back into the living room, sitting inbetween said males. Soon Kagome was laying across both laps, yawning. Tomorrow they would return to the past.

Tomorrow they would find the last shard.

Tomorrow, Kagome could sleep warm in Youko's fur again. She smiled at that thought and snuggled closer to him, telling him that she'd be sleeping in their room tonight. Youko nodded and played with her hair, chuckling as she swatted his hand away.

"Sto~p. Kagome ningen needs slee~p." She whined, too sleepy to realize that instead of smacking his hand away she had grabbed it and was now using it as a teddy bear. Youko chuckled and simply stared at her.

Sesshoumaru sighed and allowed his tail to curl around her while she napped. Seriously, this girl slept so much, however...she was very beautiful and innocent looking when she did sleep. She had that childish innocence about her, yet Sesshoumaru knew, KNEW, she'd experienced death and war. She stayed so pure even through every thing she's been through. He had to admit he went after his brother more often because she was always near, yelling at him or facing fearlessly against him. She was always like that, scared yet not. She always hid behind his brother, but when he was in danger she threw herself infront of him to save him time and again. He remembered one time she had looked up at him with tears in her eyes.

!!**!! Flashback !!**!!

"Die, InuYasha." Sesshoumaru said, calmly, raising his sword as his brother struggled to just stay awake. This was it. He would finally kill the baka hanyou. Erase the taint from the family. He could see the blood flow already! He lowered the sword but stopped when he found another wall in his way. This time, it was her. The girl. The one he at least respected to some amount.

"Don't kill him...onegai, Sesshoumaru-sama!" Kagome cried out, looking up with him with those big blue eyes of hers. Sesshoumaru blinked, not knowing why she was doing this, she was a miko. Mikos hated demons and hanyou alike.

"Out of my way." Sesshoumaru said simply and watched as she furiously shook her head.

"If you kill him, you'll have to kill me as well." She said, and Sesshoumaru was instantly reminded of his mother, having sacrificed her own body to save him. He remembered her screams when the demons raped her, then as promised, left him alone. He backed down. He sighed and turned away, sheathing his sword and walking off without a word.

!!**!! End flashback !!**!!

Yes, that must be why he liked the ningen girl so much, she was very much like his mother. Caring and loving to a fault, but that causes one to die quickly, he learned, but this time...this time he could protect her. But...could Youko protect her as well? Or even better? Sesshoumaru himself was a strategist, but Youko, youko had more strength and probebly more cunning. He was a kitsune, after all, and all kitsune were tricksters at heart. Could the kitsune be playing a trick on this girl? Lure her away from everyone else for something she had? The jewel, maybe? No he marked her, no kitsune would go that far...would he?

Greater Youkai-(Class B-C)Elemental demons, and demons able to take human form. These work directly under Daiyoukai and solve problems in their own village/town/city/or territory. This includes Hanyous.

Ashiko: Spiked claws worn on the feet.
Shoku: Spiked claws worn on the hands.
Chigiriki: Uhh, kind of like a morning star. The chains could be tucked into the hollow handle and then used as a mace,
Fukiya: Blowgun (used for blowing darts and such).
Jo: Hollow piece of bamboo used for various weapon functions and could easily be disguised as a staff or walking stick.
Kakute: Metal type rings used to strangle an enemy.
Kama: Sickles.
Neko-te: Iron, claw-like fingernails used by female ninjas.

Ono: Battle Axe (very heavy; you needed a lot of strength to weld it).

Things to Ponder

Hiei and Keiko both Kagome's family?! Why were the Spirit Detectives there in the first place? Does Youko know that's his actual future? Why is Hiei being so possessive of Kagome? Why aren't Youko and Sesshoumaru fighting over Kagome? Hell, why isn't InuYasha REALLY fighting for Kagome? Exactly why is Kuronue listening to the conversation? Will they return tomorrow or is something else up? Who will get Kagome as a mate, I mean come on! Sesshoumaru and Youko seem almost on equal footing, or at least I'm trying to make it that way...Who will win her?

I loved it! It was very well written and thought out. Is it a
Youko/Kagome pairing? Hm..I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next

Answer: Youko/Kagome? Maybe. Kurama/Kagome? Could be.
Sesshoumaru/Kagome? I do that so often, it would be so easy for me to do so,
but thats also a maybe. InuYasha/Kagome? I would rather die. It's been done
so many times, in so many ways it scares me. Especially because in most
stories InuYasha just suddenly is like 'oh I like Kagome better now'...yeaaahh...

Yes Kuronue is briefly mentioned in the chapters, he may have a bigger
part later in the story, but I'm still thinking about that. I'm not too sure
about his character personality, having not seen him on YYH, so yeah. ^_^

Well, he was always protective of that lil girl, can you think of him just
letting her mate some other male? Lol, that would make a funny story

I'm enjoying this, even though I'm normally a Hiei/Kagome fan, but
please, please! Geisha are not prostitutes! Their main function is to
entertain at tea houses and parties using the skills they have learned,
like dancing, playing traditional Japanese music, and conversation! They
wear elaborate traditional Japanese kimono with hairstyles and make up
to match! They are not prostitutes! I'm sorry for the long lecture,
but ever since I read Memoirs of a Geisha I tend to respect them very
much. They go through a great deal of training to become what they are,
and they are now a struggling group of women trying to preserve the old
traditions and arts that might be lost more quickly to today's current
trend of modernization.

I did really enjoy your story, though it might not sound like it. As I
said, after reading that book, and seeing a show about modern geisha, I
really, really admire them. Check them out, and maybe you will be
impressed too.

Ohhh...thank you! I have learned!!! I will add that to the rest of my
chapters, sorry about that. I was always told, even by my mother(who is
Korean) that Geisha were sort of prostitutes. Yes they were to entertain,
but I was told it wasn't just dancing and the like. Male visitors with enough
money would...ahem...anyway, that was just what I was told, so yeah.

Also, to tell you the truth, I do dress like a Geisha every so often due to
