Chapter 5
~*~A Week Later~*~
An angry howl tore through the forest, sending the birds fleeing from the nearby trees. Inuyasha climbed over the well, growling menacingly and stepped into the soft grass. He was burning with fury. How dare that woman go out with a boy from her time? What did that boy have that she was drooling all over him like a bitch in the heat? He had been travelling back and forth for the past week, each day, for Kagome, but she wasn’t there for him. A boulder nearby the well went flying into the woods, crashing against a tree; thus ending its life.
“Just let me get my hands on that pansy ass. I’ll…I’ll… KEH!” He seethed, curling his fist. Each time he had travelled to Kagome’s home he was either informed by Souta or Mrs. Higurashii or a smug Grandpa, who couldn’t contain his joy over that fact that his granddaughter was going out with a gentleman, that she was out with a boy named Houjo form her school. Another tree was sliced in half.
“As if I don’t know that idiot. He was the one, the only damned fucking pansy who always seems to be all over my woman.” Then he scowled. “Keh! Now I sound like that wimpy wolf-boy. Argh!” He walked back to the well, looking down into the deep hole for sometime. Then he turned and sat down heavily against the well, sighing and looked up at the setting sun. Today was definitely not his day.
“I’ll go back tomorrow and search for that Hojou and then…” he grinned, showing his fangs and cracking his fingers. Oh the things he was gonna do to that human, the boy was going to curse the day he was born. The thoughts of the impending torture he was going to inflict on the boy gave him some amount of solace and he closed eyes, drifting into a light slumber.

Night came, a full moon rising overhead, as a certain hanyou slept on peacefully unaware of his surroundings. He shifted slightly, his nose twitching in his sleep, as a certain familiar scent drifted to him. Frowning, he shifted some more, the sound of hushed footsteps coming close. He came awake but kept his eyes shut and stretched his senses, waiting for the intruder to get nearer to him before he attacked.
Just as he felt the person close enough to him, he struck.
“Iron Reaver Stole Stealer!”
But the intruder managed to deflect his attack effortlessly and the next thing he knew, he was thrown against a tree. He grunted as he slid onto the ground and then steadying himself quickly, growling dangerously.
“Damn you woman, would ya never leave me alone!” he seethed.
A taunting laughter echoed through the forest, adding to his ire.
“Stop hiding and come out, wench,” He yelled. “Then we’ll see who’s stronger”
The said woman suddenly materialised out of the shadows, revealing the same woman from a week ago, in her blood armour and bound eyes, clucking her tongue in a disapproving manner.
“Tut, Tut Inuyasha, you should really watch your language,” she reprimanded. “You’re a prince after all and it doesn’t suit you.”
“Keh! It’s the best you’ll get, so fuck off,” he grumped, folding his arms over his chest and sticking his nose in the air.
“Oh dear, you’re really in a bad mood aren’t you?” she asked, leaning back against a tree trunk.
“tch!” Inuyasha turned away from the meddling bitch. He wanted to hate her and hurt her bad, she was the one who came along and turned his life upside down, after all, but he found that impossible. Something about woman prevented any malicious intent he had, so he simply settled to ignore… but not for long.
The eerily silence as unnerving and our hanyou was never known to have much patience, so after a few moments, he turned back; growling again when he saw the woman in the same position, facing him with amusement in her feature.
“So why are here, wench?”
The woman sighed. “Inuyasha you have to hurry, darkness draws near and you haven’t been able get close to your intended.”
“Keh! As if I haven’t tried,” he snapped.
“No you haven’t, you haven’t tried your best,” the answer agitated the hanyou even more. “And your failure will only result in the destruction of the world as we know it.”
Now Inuyasha was flat out angry. Who does the woman think she is? He walked forward, getting nose to nose with the woman, his eyes flashing in blind fury.
“What do you mean, I haven’t tried? For the last several damned days I have been only doing as you asked me to do and wasting my fucking energy.” He growled to her face. “And you’ve been nothing more but an annoying pest, going on and on about the end the world but never disclosing anything that would help me. You are in no position to decide whether or not I’ve been doing my best.”
This seemed to set off the woman as well. “Oh, you think it’s easy to….” She sighed. No, now was not the time to get angry. “Look Inuyasha, I cannot tell more than you already know.”
The inu rolled his eyes and ‘humph’ed.
“Believe me, I would if I could remember, but you’re still too far from your goal and therefore, I cannot help you. However, I can only advise you to follow your heart, it will lead to your intended. Please Inuyasha, make haste. Or….”
“Or what?” He questioned curiously.
“Nothing,” She answered, moving closer to the hanyou. “Just do your best, and be careful.” The last two words were meant as a warning. However before the hanyou could question her about what she meant, a sudden strong wind blew through the forest, making him squint his eyes and when he looked again, she was gone.
“Damn!” He cursed and then sighed. Maybe the woman was right; maybe he wasn’t trying hard enough. “Tomorrow I’ll go back and talk to Kagome. I’ll wait for her this time, no matter how long it takes,” he promised himself, before setting out for the village. He was hungry and needed rest, tomorrow was going to a good day.

Soft feet patted over the wooden floor, as a pale figure steered herself through the silent corridor of a castle.
“My lord will be pleased with the news,” she mused, as she stopped before a room; it’s entrance covered with shoji.
Before she could ask for a permission to enter. A cold voice echoed through the silent. “Come.”
She nodded, shifting the shoji to enter the vast room, and quickly kneeled down, bowing before the lord, sitting on a futon on the floor.
“What news do you bear?” came a quiet question.
“My lord, it seemed the hanyou is being misled. He is pursuing the wrong person my lord and he hasn’t even an inkling of his true intended.” She informed.
Red eyes gleamed with amusement, as a cruel smile grew on his lips. “Hmmm… it’s rather amusing, though not particularly unexpected of him.”
“My lord, do you wish for me to dispose of him?” the woman asked, trying not to peer into the cold, deathly eyes.
“No…” Came a curt reply. “I have other plans for him, something fun,” he chucked evilly, sending a shiver down the pale demoness’ spine.
“As you wish my lord. Then, shall I go back to watching him?” she asked again.
“Yes… but before that, I have a task for you to do. You must go to the northern lands…” he proceeded to explain his plans to the demoness, of what he wanted her to do.
At last, the demoness nodded and stood up, bowing respectfully again, before she turned and left he room.
A smirk grew on the lord’s lips, as he turned to look at the full moon, through a slightly parted bamboo curtain.
“Let the games begin…”

The next morning Inuyasha set out, this time, determined to bring Kagome with him, back to his era. He flew through the forest, feeling the wind caressing his body as he jumped from tree to tree, a blur to the normal eyes. Soon he reached the well and jumped over the edge, letting his body be engulfed by the blue light, which took him the other.
He was already late; Kagome would be out by now, but this time he would wait for her return and then bring her back. A smile stretched on his lip as landed on ground, in front of the well in the small shrine; today he would finally get his mate, the long wait was over he would never be alone again. He jumped up and pushed shoji opened and stopped dead in his tracks…
Kagome was in the arms of another, and they were kissing. The world stopped for him as his eyes widened in pain and shock, his heart rending into two. He was too late, his mate was taken, snatched away under his nose by a mere human, a weak unworthy human.
Kagome felt eyes on her, and opened her eyes a bit and immediately stiffened. There was Inuyasha standing at the shrine door, his eyes burning with liquid fire his, mouth open as he gazed at the scene before him. The kiss had been an unexpected one. They had immense fun, partying at Eri’s the whole night and Hojou had accompanied her back to her home. She had meant him to have a kiss on the cheek, to thank him for his company, but Hojou had captured her lips instead, and for the first time she felt herself tasting the fruit of paradise. However, she never expected the hanyou to catch her like that, she hesitated for a moment before an idea clicked in her mind.
Hojou felt the tension in his ‘girlfriend’ and broke the kiss. “Kagome, are you all right?” He asked, beginning to turn to look back.
Kagome acted quickly. Cupping his cheek she smiled. “No, nothing’s wrong sweetheart,” she purred seductively, closing her lips on his in what seemed to a mind blowing kiss. Her hands found Hojou’s and she guided them to the taut cheeks of her backside and moaned out loud when she was pulled into his body.
She watched through half lidded eyes; the various expressions that passed on Inuyasha’s face in the few seconds before she closed them, enjoying the feeling of a warm body against hers.
‘Perhaps now, you’ll realise my true value Inuyasha,’ she mused. ‘This will teach you not to treat your woman like crap. Jealously is such a good medicine, when used correctly. Now you’ll treat me with the respect I need. You’ll find I have many options other than you, whereas you have only me, so you better watch out Inuyasha or I just might go off with someone else.’
The hanyou could not look anymore. He tried, trying to control the tears, the shameless betrayal of the one he felt he loved so much, had brought forth. Burning with anger and unbounded pain, he jumped over the well, returning to his own time.
Stepping into the feudal era, he cursed loudly, punching his fist into a nearby tree.
“Damn you fucking wench, I loved you damn it. Couldn’t you have waited for me? What did I do wrong? Here I turned my back for a moment and you went whoring yourself. Curse you Kagome, I hate you!” he screamed, unable to contain his fury.
“My, my Inuyasha, you are very red, are you not well?” a voice from behind him teased.
Inuyasha turned heaving, “Damn you woman, go to hell for all I care. You!” he pointed to the mysterious woman from before, standing a few feet away from him, “You are the reason for my suffering, you and your stupid prophecy and now you’ll pay for it.” Claws closed on the hilt of the sword, as Tetsusaiga was pulled out and Inuyasha charged this time, hell bent on hurting the woman.
The woman barely managed to deflect his attack his time, he had worked himself into a blood frenzy and was moving with such speed and grace that she was finding it hard to do anymore than to defend herself.
“Calm down Inuyasha,” she yelled.
“What happened, can’t fight back can you?” Inuyasha smirked, dashing towards her with his sword, but she quickly jumped away form his path. “You are the reason I hurt so badly wench, I followed your instruction and went after Kagome…” A strike and a miss. He growled. “…only to find her in the arms of another. My intended was moaning like cheap village whore. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THAT HURT?!” he spat. “She had found another while I was away, now how am I supposed to mate with her?”
He raised the fang once more, ready to slice the woman in half, but found it quite impossible as the woman caught the fang half way, with her bare hands. “I never said that the miko was your intended, now did I?” she said, amusement evident in her tone.
Inuyasha stopped; he glanced at the woman confused. “What do mean wench? Kagome is my intended and…”
The mysterious woman sighed, “Inuyasha, she isn’t is your true intended. A human will never be your mate hanyou, they aren’t worthy enough. You deserve someone much stronger and who would be able to take care of you.”
“Keh!”

~*~Meanwhile In Modern World~*~
Kagome sat on her bed, looking out the window at the night sky. She did feel a little guilty about doing this to Inuyasha, but that was the only way the hanyou could learn.
‘Soon, he’ll come crawling back to me,’ She smiled. The plan was perfect.
