Author's Notes: Thanks for the reviews! I like the suggestions, though they were all different so I'm still going to wait on deciding the pairings. We will just have to see how the story goes. Once again thanks for reading.

Chapter Four

Kagome and Sango ran into Grandpa right after the sun went down. They been cruising the arts and crafts exhibit again when he'd stepped up behind them. "Can you imagine the nerve of these people? Having the nerve to call this art. The cat could have done a better job at painting."

"Thats not nice, gramps. Some people like this type of painting." Kagome could almost see the smoke emitting from his ears. The painting in question didn't really have a design. Just some colors running together to make some kind of circle.

"Don't talk back girl. I know what I'm talking about. I come from a long line of priests, who appreciate fine art. And this my girl isn't art. Its a waste of paper and paint." He started complaining about other things he'd seen. They just smiled as he rambled on.

Sango whispered into her ear. "What's he talking about?"

"I don't know to be honest. Just let him steam, he'll tire eventually and leave us alone. Best to be polite or he will start on us." Kagome giggled and froze when he turned to glare at her. "Eeeep."

"Are you listening girl. I'm trying to teach you a valuable lesson here. Take these sutras here, they are all wrong. What kind of idiot did this? That wouldn't stop cockroaches much less a demon." He crossed his arms glaring as if he was expecting the paper to defend itself.

"Sure," Kagome grabbed Sango's arm and took a step back. When she was certain his attention was away from them, she bolted for it. As soon as they cleared the doorway she heard him calling. "Kagome, where'd that girl go?"

"Wow, that was close," Sango smiled at her friend's antics. "Is he always like that?"

"Yes, afraid so. Its amusing most the time. Want to go on the new haunted ride? Its suppose to be scary." Kagome was already heading into the direction before she could answer.

"Only if you hold me if I get scared." Sango picked at her.

"Sure, and I even promise not to grope you."

"Deal." They made their way over. The line was very long for this one, it being the new highlight this year. Both girls chirped on about what to do next. Neither worried about being scared. After battling someone like Naraku it took a lot to scare you. A cheesy ride just wouldn't do it. Kagome and Sango was the last in line for several minutes.

A woman with long brown hair and a cigarette hanging out her mouth came to stand beside them. "This better be worth the wait."

"Just don't get scared Sis, since you don't have a date to protect you." Both girls turned when they heard the Hair Dont's voice. Sure enough the same guy was standing next to the woman. At this view point they got a good look at him.

"Atleast the hair goes with the face."Sango commented. Kagome agreed but refrained from speaking. "Explains why he's so loud, its the only way he can get attention."

Shizuru smiled when everyone joined her in line. Even Hiei had been coaxed into joining them this evening. She asked the little fire demon if he'd consider sitting with her so she wouldn't have to sit alone. A 'Hn.' was her answer which meant he would. They paired up as follow, Shizuru/Hiei, Kuwabara/Yukina, Yusuke/Keiko and Botan/Kurama. "Shut up, don't make me hurt you."

"Yukina will you protect poor Kuwabara?" The boy grabbed the small girl's hand.

She merely smiled. Not voicing the fact, that if Shizuru went at him she'd be the first to give the woman a clear shot. "Is this ride really scary Kuzuma?"

"Don't worry I'll be by your side the whole time my love." A growl was heard coming from the small demon.

Kurama and Yusuke were chatting while Keiko was speaking to Botan. Wedding plans had been the subject almost the whole evening for those two. They both didn't feel like getting on this ride nor wait in the long line but Keiko had insisted. Kurama smiled as Yusuke muttered under his breath at the mention of a big wedding. His eyes looked to see how many were ahead in the line when he spotted the girl from earlier. She was standing next to another girl, this one was a little taller. He knew he was being rude by staring but couldn't stop himself. They were both stunning in appearance but something else called to him. Not knowing what it was he continued to stare.

Yusuke realized that Kurama's attention had diverted to something else and turned. The two girls from earlier were standing right in front of them. Of course Shizuru and Kuwabara had been blocking them from view when they'd stepped in line. They were almost in front of him and Kurama now. The line was made by chains forming rows, so when the line had moved, the girls had stopped in front of them around the corner of chain. Just like Kurama he stopped to inspect them both. Both were beautiful in his opinion, he felt himself drawn just like the kitsune beside him.

Keiko turned to ask Yusuke if he wanted to get something to eat after this ride to find him staring at another girl. "Yusuke!" He snapped out of it. "Do you mind?" She was fuming.

Sango and Kagome had turned around after seeing Kuwabara up close and personal. Neither waited to watch the rest of the group join him. They were both lost in thought when they heard the girl scream. She sounded pissed beyond reason. Sango recognized the name and cursed her luck. Kagome turned to look while Sango kept her eyes straight ahead.

The young miko felt her heart drop when she came face to face with a demon. She hadn't felt his presence behind her, it wasn't until she turned that she saw his aura. He had it hidden well, very well. It barely coated him, anyone not aware of what they were looking for would have missed it. A shot of awareness shot down her spine, not unlike the one she'd felt earlier. A smile was forced because he was glaring at her. He was very short, a few inches shorter than her but the way he stood told her he was no pushover. The yelling continued causing her to be curious.

"You are such a jerk," Keiko stomped her foot. Here she was talking about their wedding and Yusuke was oggling some girl like she was a gourmet meal and he was starving.

"I wasn't doing anything." He stammered.

"Don't try to lie to me I saw you." Keiko was about to smack him when Kurama intervened. He bent down and whispered into her ear. She immediately calmed down and made an O with her mouth. "I see. I guess I understand, sorry for yelling Yusuke."
She went back to talking to Botan like nothing had happened.

Yusuke felt Kurama lean to whisper in his ear, "I told her, you were staring because the young lady in question is a miko. A very powerful one from the feel of it. Told her it was your demon blood, trying to size up any risk." Yusuke guessed it was a good lie. Or was it? So he merely asked to be sure.

"Fraid not my friend." Kurama saw the girl turn to look at him but continued to whisper to his friend. "I'm not sure about the other one yet but the shorter one is definitely a priestess of some sort. Whether she knows how to use the power or even knows its there is yet to be seen. But she contains some strong holy powers underneath that angelic face."

The thought of being purified made Yusuke keep his eyes to himself. Kurama turned to look at the miko, he smiled which caused her to blush and turn away.

Kagome sighed realizing that the hot red head was with the loud mouth and his friend. She had to admit the friend was also very cute, not hot but sexy. Of course both seemed to have females already attached to their sides. It was to expected, men that fine didn't stay single long. Both girls didn't say much as they waited in line. To get on the ride took almost fourty minutes of waiting. When it was their turn, their feet were ready for the rest. Kagome let Sango get in first and sat on the outside.

The ride proceded. The first thing that tried to scare them was Jack-the-Ripper popping out a wall. All Sango did was lean in and ask who it was suppose to be. Ghosts and zombies popped around them making loud noises as they went on. Something fell from the ceiling to swoop down in front of them, to be quickly yanked back up before their head made contact. Kagome figured it would have been scary to some. When you had seen the monsters first hand, cheap plastic imatations did them no justice.

Sango was about to ask if they could go get something sweet when something grabbed her shoulder. The touch felt real and the girl reacted out of instinct. Her elbow flew up slamming into something causing a loud crunching sound. A loud yell pierced the air, "Ow. You broke my fucking nose." The exit doors flew open putting the girl's in light. As they were climbing out a young man came stumbling out holding his face. The operator stopped the ride and cut the lights on inside letting the others inside find their way to the exit.

The ride had barely begun when Yusuke felt the ride stop and the lights came on. After several seconds he spotted Kurama and Botan walking along the path towards them. "Something has happened, lets head out." The fox stated. They walked back out the entrance to see, Shizuru, Hiei, Kuzuma and Yukina coming out the exit door. Eveyone stopped, watching the display in front of the line.

"Bitch, broke my fucking nose." The young man was holding a rag to his face. He pulled it away to show blood everywhere running down his jaw.

"You shouldn't have grabbed me. Call me that again and I'll break more than your nose." Sango was livid. It had all been an honest mistake. It had been an impulse, it is was his fault really.

"It's my job to try and scare people."

"Well heres a clue, your job sucks ass." She used the words she'd heard Kagome use on several occasions. "Second, so does your attitude. I said I was sorry, no need to call me names."

Kagome tried to defuse the situation, not sure how to progress about it. It was usually Sango and Miroku breaking up her fights with Inuyasha. "We really are sorry." She clapped her hands together and smiled. "I'm sure it's not broken." She thought about it for a minute and spoke without thinking. "Though there was that loud crunching sound like breaking bones. Oops, I mean I'm sure its okay." She waved her hand in the guy's face like it had the ability to make the bleeding stop.

He glared at both girls. "Takyu, I'm going to the medical tent." He stormed off ignoring those that were trying to hide their laughter. He hated his job, the girl was right. His job sucked ass.

Both girl's tried apologizing to the operator for delaying the ride. He merely smiled and said not to worry about it. He complimented Sango on her good reflexes which caused her to blush. They hit the exit trying to ignore everyone that was staring at them. Souta was waiting for them though. "Wow, Sango did you really break that guy's nose?" His friends stared at the girl in awe.

"Souta, we aren't going to tell Mom about this." Kagome stated. Her mother would freak if she knew.

"Sure, but that was way cool. Think I'll have Sango be my bodyguard." He chuckled as he and his friends got into line for the ride going once more.

Sango trully felt bad about what had happened. "Can we get something to drink and sit down Kagome?"

"Yep, I'm kind of thirsty myself. I have to agree with Souta though, that was awesome. Most girls would have screamed not defended themselves." Kagome took her to get a soda and a hotdog.
