Your Place or Mine?

Okay, things just get kinda weird here. Remember to blink and breath people.

Chapter 5: Your Place or Mine?

~Two Weeks Later.~

“Let her GO!” Inu-Yasha roared as he drew Tetsaiga from its sheath. But he knew he could do little more than that. He glared back at a set of golden eyes not unlike his own, though calmer to be sure. Sesshoumaru closed his slender fingers even tighter around Kagome’s throat, and she choked. Miroku, Sango and Shippou dared not move, knowing full well that the ruthless Wester Lord quite literally held their friend’s life in his hands. Kagome herself could do nothing to stop him, she was not nearly as physically strong as he was, and her bow and arrows lay a good dozen feet away. All she could really manage was to keep a grip on his choking hold and hope that she didn’t pass out.
“I told you little brother, go get the other one like her.” he gestured to Kagome as she gasped a little hard for air. “And I’ll let you have your wench back.” he drawled as if he didn’t really give a damn. But they all knew better than that, or else he would not have gone looking for a pointless fight. The only possible way to get ahold of Saiyuri in this situation would be to go through the well. Inu-Yasha would rather be Sat about 3928 times in a row rather than leave Kagome so close to dying.
“Inu…Yasha…” the flare of worry in his face taold all that he had heard her. “Go find her…” She choked out. Feeling torn in the worst possible way, the half-breed hesitated. But it only lasted as long a a breath, then he was gone. Miroku and Sango stay poised where they were, not taking their eyes off their friend or her captor, nor letting their fury provoke them into doing something stupid. Kagome was doing her best to stay calm and take deep careful breaths. She felt Sesshoumaru’s hand ease up just a little, so that he wasn’t crushing her windpipe quite so much. It had already crossed her mind that he really did not wish to kill her. But she was still scared, because she knew he had every capability to do so if he chose. She did not want to send her new friend into his clutches, but Saiyuri had told her that she wasn’t so scared of him as she should be. She had told Kagome of how she had been hurt, and Sesshoumaru healed her wounds. Although she had made particular note of how he had drugged her using his poison some time earlier too. But the general impression Saiyuri had given Kagome was that she could handle something like this. Kagome just hoped that Inu-Yasha had enough sense to look around the Higurashi household for her friend. Hell, she’d been staying there for the past two weeks, her scent would be all over the damn place. Inu-Yasha, please hurry! she mentally begged as she felt Sesshoumaru’s fingers flex impatiently around her throat again.

~At the Higurashi Household~

“Is Saiyuri here?” Inu-Yasha barked as he entered Kagome’s home in a rush.
“She’s out with mom, getting food or something.” said Kagome’s little brother, Souta. The grandfather looked over the top of his newspaper at the dog-demon.
“Why are you so worried has something happened?” he asked nonchalantly turning the page. Inu-Yasha wasn’t stupid enough to tell Kagome’s family that she was very close to death as they wasted time talking it over. He was warring with himself as to whether or not to go looking for Saiyuri. If he left now, it could take longer than if he just waited for her, but if she and Kagome’s mother took much longer then the result could be that much worse. But he never got the chance to decide as the sound of the front door opening then closing rang in his ears just then.
“Hey we’re back!” Called the voice he recognized as Saiyuri’s and he bolted for the front hall.
“Where on earth have you BEEN?” he barked at her as soon as he saw her. Trying to keep the vein in her head from bursting, and at the same time regain some hearing, Saiyuri stepped past him and into the kitchen to deposite the bags she was carrying on the counter.
“We were out getting some much needed food.” she said tartly. “Why is there something you need?” she was just daring him to say he had wanted ramen for something.
“We have to go back through the well!” he yelled, and grabbed her arm rather to hard.
“OW! Hey watch it! That’ arm’s injured!” she shouted back at him, and they all looked at her puzzled. Souta was the first to remember, after he saw the neon-blue bandage tied on the inside of her elbow.
“Oh yeah, you went to donate blood this morning right?” Saiyuri nodded at the little boy with a smile.
“I don’t care if all your limbs are broken, we have to get back there NOW!” if he was impatient before, then there was no description for his behavior now. Except maybe worry.
Once this dawned on Saiyuri, she looked at Kagome’s mother and said wearily, “I knew it wouldn’t last.” With that, she dashed up the stairs and was back down in a matter of maybe 32 seconds, with a pack on her back. Inu-Yasha stared for a second.
Was she expecting this? he wondered wildly.
“Okay, if we’re going then let’s go.” she said and strode past him at a clip heading for the well-house. Once the two of them were outside, and beyond the range of the family’s hearing, Saiyuri said very sternly, “Alright, what he hell has happened?”
“Sesshoumaru has his claws at Kagome’s throat and won’t let her go until you show up.” he spat, as if the situation had been her fault. But Saiyuri could not take in the anger in his voice, not when what he had actually said had struck her so hard.
“Why in the nine circles of hell does he want ME there?” she all but yelled as they both jumped down the well.
“How the hell should I know? But there’s nothing I can do to stop him now, so you better figure something out, because I’m not losing Kagome to anyone!” Saiyuri had expected something like this to happen, but to threaten someone who was really no threat to him, well that was just cowardly in her book, and she’d make sure that the Great Lord of the Western Lands got and earful once Kagome was safe. It wouldn’t have taken so long if she had not gone to donate blood earler that day. For one, Inu-Yash had to carry her out of the well, then set her back on her feet, since she could not lift herself up, and this would doubtless annoy Sesshoumaru. Saiyuri guessed this based on the first time they had met, and she recalled how he had been annoyed at the scent of his brother just mildly on her. And for two, she knew by reason of experience that it was a bad idea, maybe even dangerous, for her to run so hard when she should be resting due to the lack of blood. She knew it would take its toll, but she could deal with being unconscious if it came to that, but damn it, she would not let her friend be hurt for a stupid reason like this! They broke through the trees panting. Sure enough, there was Kagome, still alive and awake, being held in check by Sesshoumaru. The tension was so thick in the air that it might have materialized in the form of lightning any second.
“SESSHOUMARU!!!” Both Inu-Yasha and Saiyuri had shouted at the tops of their voices at the same time. Everyone looked at them and could feel the wind give a sudden throb of heat, like a momentary fever.
“What in the hell do you think you’re doing?” Saiyuri was the first to recover and nobody had to assume she was angry, it was as plain as the nose on her face. Sesshoumaru looked at her for a long moment, then his eyes shifted to his brother, and narrowed ever so slightly. Inu-Yasha turned to Saiyuri.
“Well, what are you waiting for?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” she snarled back at him.
Sesshoumaru spoke then, drawing the attention of all. “Come here now.” His tone was that of one who would not be argued with, and they all knew who his statement was directed at.
“Let Kagome go first.” Saiyuri shouted back to him, looking as though she would quite like to punch his lights out, if only she could. The Western Lord gave a dangerous snarl and his grip on Kagome’s throat tightened again. “COWARD!!!!” Saiyuri screamed at the very top of her lungs and the dry, dead limbs of a few trees suddenly burst into flame and fell into the cool damp grass below. This startled everyone, but the older of the two brothers kept this hidden for now.
“Do as I have told you wench, or forfeit your friend’s life.” Saiyuri was angrier that she could ever remember bing in her life, but she had not choice. She would not let her friend die because of her own stubborn attitude. She stomped forward, leaving inch-deep footprints in the earth as she went. When she was about three or four feet away, he released Kagome at last and she fell forward into the long green grass. Saiyuri was by her friend in an instant.
“Are you okay?” she asked now almost frantic with worry. Kagome coughed a bit but nodded. But neither or them noticed something fluffy snaking around Saiyuri’s waist until she was sharply jerked back and then, somehow, her chest hit hard metal.
“Kagome!” They all rushed to her aid now that she was no longer so close to snuffing it, and four pairs of eyes glared at Sesshoumaru. He was certain it would have been five, but since Saiyuri was facing the other way, she didn’t get the chance.
“Now was that so difficult little brother?” His tone was sarcastic, though he was ginning, having gotten his way. Not giving his younger sibling a chance to retaliate, he took a firmer hold on his captive and darted away between the trees. “Saiyuri!” Kagome, Sango and Miroku all called, but they knew she was already too far for their voices to reach.

“You can put me down now!” Saiyuri growled at the Lord of the Western Lands. She really needed him to put her down soon. She was feeling dangerously dizzy, like her body was made of lead and would all right through his grip no matter how firm it was. Sesshoumaru did not even give her words a thought until his head was jerked back sharply. Apparently, she had seized the hair at the nape of his neck and yanked as hard as she could. On anyone else it would have been quite painful, but as far as he was concerned, the only reason it had affected him at all was due to the physics of the situation. “Look, put me down now or I’m gonna pass out!” she said in a rushed gasp. That made him stop in mid-stride and he looked at her face. Sesshoumaru looked surprised at the young woman’s condiscion. She was indeed rather paler than he remembered, and, his eyes widened slightly, there was just the faintest scent of blood on her. He set her on her feet, and had to catch her again as her legs gave out under her, too wobbly to support her. With his arms around her this time, he felt the bandage on her arm and glanced down at it.
“What happened to you?” he asked, in a quiet, though stony tone as he set her on the ground. Saiyuri did not answer, but rather laid herself out on her back and seemed to be working hard to focus herself on taking deep breaths. Naturally, he had already acknowledged his brother’s scent on this young woman, but now something else clicked in his mind. “What did that half-breed-bastard do to you?” he could have shattered the hardest of diamonds with that voice.
“What?” Saiyuri responded in confusion between breaths.
“You smell of blood, what did he do to you?” Saiyuri was trying to look at his face to gauge his temper. Was she imagining it, or did his eyes look slightly red? There was a quiet ripping sound in her ears, and she looked down to see his fist gripping the long green grass, tearing it absently from the ground.
“He didn’t do anything.” Saiyuri sighed tiredly as she continued to divide her attention between her breathing and his expressions. She could hear his breathing, like he was snarling very quietly.
“Are you telling me,” he sounded about ready to spit poison, or perhaps rip her apart in a fury. “that you did this to yourself?” He was looking her dead in the eyes, and Saiyuri found that she could not look away. She shifted uncomfortably under his scrutiny.
“Not exactly.” she said. This was clearly not what the dog-demon wanted to hear, because he suddenly gripped her by the shoulders and held her up. There was, at most, half a foot between their faces, and the gap was still closing.
“Then who?” those two words made her feel as if she where stuck in a Silent Hill game. Trying to keep the tremmers out of her voice she took a deep breath to answer.
“Look, it’s not that bad, and besides I volunteered, no one made me do it.”
“Do What?” the hold he had on her shoulders grew tighter, and Saiyuri winced.
“If you draw any more of my blood I’m not going to be the only one angry.” she warned through clenched teeth.
“Why would you agree to letting someone harm you?” Sesshoumaru paused as something else she said registered in his mind. “What’s this about drawing blood?” he wanted to know.
“That’s what I agreed to!” she spat, in deep irritation. The Western Lord stared at her in disbelief.
“Are you mad? You let complete strangers take your blood?” It looked to Saiyuri as though he were in a state of shock, or something closely related.
“What’s the big deal? I’ve donated blood plenty of times before.” Then it finally hit her that Sesshoumaru would not know what donating blood meant. A wave of dizzyness took hold of her again and her head rolled on her shoulders. “Let me lie back down.” she breathed, and to her surprise, he allowed this. Sesshoumaru could see her working to keep her green eyes open and focused.
If she really isn’t so hurt, then why is she so weak? he wondered as he gazed down at her; she was still trying to breathe deeply. How could she call it nothing when she was in such a state. “You haven’t answered my question.” he persisted, glaring down at her.
“Remind me what that was again?”
“Why did you let someone take your blood?” he snarled the inquiry out at her. Remarkably, there was a minute or tow of real silence before the female answered him.
“So someone else might live.” Saiyuri said softly. That tone was at once gentle and harsh; she did not need to raise her voice to yell. Sesshoumaru was confused to say the least, as he watched her eyes waver a bit.
“How much did they take?” his tone was somehow gentler and at the same time still very stern.
“Almost a pint.” she said easily.
“No more than that?” his tone was the same, and difficult to read.
“Taking more would have been taking a greater risk. They aren’t stupid Sesshoumaru. They know that tapping a vein is tricky so they’ve made a science of it.” Saiyuri said, with a slight smile, just curving the very corners of her mouth. His golden eyes narrowed slightly and her smiled faded. “I’m just going to have to take it easy for awhile, I’ll be back to normal by the end of a week.”
“The benefit of experience?” it was really more a statement than a question.
“Hmm.” was all Saiyuri said.
“Do you even know who it is you’re supposedly saving?” he asked and Saiyuri shrugged.
“I don’t know, and frankly, it makes no difference to me.”
“Really.” she could hear the underlying harshness in his voice and heaved an exasperated sigh. “I would think you’d be curious.”
“Speaking of curious, how is Rin?” Saiyuri asked, obviously changing the subject. Her eyes closed for a moment, but snapped open again when she felt his hand on her forehead.
“Alive and well. She’s been asking about you everyday and giving me no peace.” But he wasn’t really annoyed, if anything the smile he wore was a little bemused.
“Well, that’s what females do.” Saiyuri seemed amused now too, and she chuckled a bit. “Better get used to it, they’ll be bothering you for the next seventy-eight years.”
“What happens then?” What he really meant to say was something to the effect of ‘why only seventy-eight?’
“Then you die.” she laughed a bit.
“I seriously doubt that.” Now his voice was cold.
“What? You think you won’t die one day?” she was still ginning. This mortal really had no idea, did she?
“Demons live a good deal longer than mortals.” a scary smirk came to him face and he added, “At least the more intelligent ones do.” By this point, his hand had slipped from her forehead to stroke up and down along her throat.
“Would you please stop that?” she said testily, batting hat his hand with her unhurt arm. But naturally this was a mistake, as it only gave him a reason to catch her by the wrist. His other hand reached for the damaged arm, though carefully. Saiyuri tried to edge away, which was doing nothing to help. “What are you doing now?”
“Let me see the wound.” the dog-demon said patiently, which surprised her at first but only at first.
“Don’t!” she snapped and jerked away sharply, as his claws reached to sever the bandage around her arm. He only hesitated to look at her.
“Have you already forgotten what I’m capable of?” his voice seemed a mixture of disappointment and anger.
“I’m not supposed to take that off for five hours, standard safety precaution.” she said in a rush, hoping he would just back off. She was not so lucky. Saiyuri felt the sticky elastic of the hospital tape snap and a split-second later, the Lord of the Western Lands had his mouth on the pin-prick wound. The rough tongue pressed firmly on the specified point the needle had punctured only an hour or so agao, and Saiyuri clenched her teeth. The people on duty today had bruised the vein, and Sesshoumaru was not being gentle with this. Even so, he let up fairly soon, and with the adrenaline still coursing through her system, Saiyuri had enough strength to get about five feet between them. “Was that entirely necessary?” she raged at him, her weight supported by a tree at her back. He stood at his full height and walked over to her, which took maybe one-and-a-half strides. For a few mintes, there was, what anyone else would call a staring contest, although it would have been more properly termed a glaring contest. And although the femlae was stubborn as hell, Sesshoumaru had many years experience on her. To her credit, Saiyuri only blinked, and looked scared, when he brought her up to stand, using only his hands on her shoulders. The silence was becoming very uncomfortable indeed. Saiyuri only dared to look away from his face when the pads of his fingers and the very points of his claws touched her cheek. His face seemed suddenly so close to her own. She could smell his breath, feel it on her face and throat. Then his cheek softly against hers and his breathe now on her ear.
“I’m taking you home.” he murmured, his lips just brushing her skin. But he hadn’t counted on her being able to keep her mind in this state.
“Your place or mine?” she asked, her voice cautious and edgy, even sarcastic. She felt herself unceremoniously crushed against his chest-plate, though he said nothing. She gave a slight, incoherent grumble, but was otherwise quiet. Glancing irritably at the ground, the mortal female noticed that there was something like a thick fog forming around their feet. And she watched in pure shock as the ground seemed to fall away from them. Sesshoumaru grinned inwardly when he felt her arms tighten around his neck. They stayed in that position for quite some time, since Sesshoumaru had decided on his own that getting her somewhere safer was best for now. And flying was the fastest way to reach his home. From time to time, he could feel her shiver against him, and supposed it was to be expected. She was wearing another of her sleeveless shirts, though she had something heavier over it, and the odd pants as well.
“Foolish mortal,” he grumbled at her when he felt her start to shiver hard for the eighth time. “Why must you insist on wearing such ridiculous attire?”
“Excuse me?” Saiyuri said with inquisitive annoyance. In response, Sesshoumaru plucked once at the shoulder of her shirt.
“Wear something more next time.”
“You mean something with sleeves and a skirt, correct?” Something about the tone of her voice caught his attention and he looked down at her.
“Is that so impossible?” he asked cynically.
“As things currently stand, I have not skirts or sleeves. They all burned up in my apartment like so much else.” She spat bitterly. The Great Lord of the Western Lands stared down at the mortal woman in his arms. Now, her cheeks were flushed with what he took to be fury, though her gaze was turned away from him, the look going slanted and inward somehow. And he could not tell whether or not she noticed when he wrapped his tail around her for warmth.
“What caused such a thing?” he asked, almost in an off-hand tone. He felt her stiffen at the question.
“I’m not telling, and don’t ask me again.” she said sharply. So he left it at that, at least for now. When, at last, they touched down in the courtyard of his fortress-like castle, Sesshoumaru cast his eyes down on his captive again. She seemed both asleep and awake, or maybe neither. Her eyes were open, but the look in them was distant, and even, parish the thought, scared. He noted with some fascination, that her left arm, the one which had escaped the fate of the right, was clutching a fistful of his haori. It looked as if she were returning to consciousness when he placed his hand over her fist. She quickly let go and stepped a few feet back. “Sorry.” she muttered, determinedly looking anywhere but at him. His hand was cupping her face again and she looked at him ready to protest at the contact.
“Remember this, little mortal; Once I decide my mind on any issue, I follow it to its farthest reaches.” He had caught her off-guard and they both knew it.
“What are y-?”
“You will answer my questions one way or another.” Saiyuri was so shocked that her sarcastic wrath failed her. Sesshoumaru turned from her and started to walk away, but turned back when he noticed she was not following. Saiyuri still stood In the place he had left her, though now her arms were crossed, her expression imputent. “Come.” he ordered, and beckoned imperiously to her. There was a long moment of hesitation, but finally, she did follow him, if only to avoid being forced into close contact again. The color flared in her cheeks as she remembered his soft hands on her face, those claws that could easily rend her to pieces, that warm breath, and-
Knock it off stupid! she shouted silently at herself. It’s not like he’s doing any of that because he likes you! the reminder of this helped her physical self sober up a bit, and it was needed, especially just then.
“You’re taking a bath.” Sesshoumaru stated blandly. Saiyuri stopped in mid-step and nearly tripped.
“I beg your pardon?” she said, clearly dazed. Now it was he who hesitated and looked back over his shoulder at her. Saiyuri had to hold her breath to keep from shuddering at his expression. That look could have soured butter.
“You reek of brother, you’re taking a bath.” he ground out, and since he seemed furious to the point where he snarled through his teeth, Saiyuri did not feel this would be a good time to argue. That and the fact that a nice hot bath would help ease the sore muscles in her right arm. Once he had shown her where the bath’s were located, which turned out to be hot springs, Saiyuri set her pack down by the door at last, and settled into the slightly steaming water. She was just starting to really relax when there was the sound of feet running on the walkway outside. Then the door rolled open and swiftly shut again. Saiyuri blinked as the little pink-clad girl stayed by the door and didn’t make a sound. The voice of Jaken could be heard in passing, mumbling something about, “wretched child,” and fading away again.
“Rin?” the sound of the child’s name made her jump and look around.
“Lady Saiyuri!” she squealed and ran up to the young woman, only stopping when she was ankle deep in the warm water. She hugged the older female happily. “I missed you!” Saiyuri felt a little guilty at this, though she was inclined to blame Sesshoumaru since it was he who had sent her away in the first place.
“I missed you too sweetie.” Saiyuri said, realizing the truth of this for the first time. She looked at the child with some amusement. The little girl was nearly covered in dirt, or was it mud? “What on earth have you been up to?” the adult asked smiling. Rin giggled at the question.
“I was playing hide-and-seek with Jaken, and he never found me.” Saiyuri grinned even more at this, thinking it would do the toad some good to worry and not disturb anyone for awhile.
“Why don’t we get you cleaned up alright?” Saiyuri suggested and Rin shed her clothes and sank into the warm water. The two talked and bathed, Rin needed a little help since she had somehow gotten herself fairly coated in mud. Eventually, Rin asked the one question Saiyuri knew was coming and hoped she would not have to answer.
“Why did you go away for so long?” the child asked as she looked over her shoulder at Saiyuri. The young woman took a deep breath, so she could think for a second.
“There were some problems I had to take care of back at my home.” She said softly, and cryptically. Rin tilted her head, slightly confused.
“What kind of problems?” Rin persisted. But the older female only shook her head dismissively.
“It doesn’t really matter. I took care of it.”
“So you’re staying?” Rin asked hopefully.
I hate it when this happens. Saiyuri thought to herself while allowing a small smile on her face. She liked Rin, and was sympathetic towards the little girl. But she did not want to stay so close to the Great Lord of the Western Lands, especially when he made her so damn nervous. “I really don’t know Rin.” She said gently. “But I try not to worry about the future too much.” She added when Rin looked disappointed. The little girl’s gaze fell on the young woman’s arm and she looked concerned.
“What happened to your arm my Lady?” Saiyuri was still curious as to why the child kept referring to her like that, but overlooked it for now. She knew what Rin was looking at.
“It’s nothing sweetie, just a bruise. It’ll be fine in a week or two.”
“Did you show Lord Sesshoumaru?” Rin asked, still very concerned.
“He already knew.” Saiyuri sighed and got out of the hot-spring and quickly wrapped a towel around herself. There was a pause as Saiyuri kept drying heself off.
“Are you upset with me my Lady?” Rin asked tentatively. Saiyuri looked up and her green eyes blinked in momentary confusion.
“Up set with you?” she asked, and laughed as if the idea had never occurred to her. “No I’m not upset.” She smiled as something emerged in her mind. “Did I look upset?”
“A little.” Rin replied, also coming out of the bath. Saiyuri laughed a little harder as she tossed a towel to the child.
“Every time someone says I look upset, it’s usually when I’m thinking hard about something.” Saiyuri could tell Rin was about to ask her another question, probably what she had been thinking about. But at that precise moment, there was a sharp knock on the door, and without waiting for an answer, it rolled open. Both females froze at the sight of the little toad-like creature.
“Lord Sesshoumaru requests your presence immediately!” He managed to gasp out before a bar of soap collided with his skull, sending him out of the room. The door was rolled shut by Saiyuri, and it was clear she was deeply annoyed.
“Well what’s so dang important that you need to forget a woman’s privacy?” She called through the closed door and stood beside it, clearly not about to let him in again.
“I’m just following orders!” Jaken squawked, clearly in a panic, or nearly.
“Well it’ll have to wait ‘til I’m decently clad.”
“B-but!” Jaken sounded like he was having something of a caniption fit. Saiyuril looked around as Rin tugged on her left wrist to get her attention, and held up what looked like a bathrobe. Saiyuri sighed, knowing that to make the dog-demon wait would probably mean paying the price. He could be so damn impatient. With her breath rushing from exasperation, she took the robe from the little girl and pulled it on, tying to make sure it was secure, and would not fall open. She opened the door and stepped out, just barely missing stepping on Jaken. But she turned back for a moment and looked at Rin.
“Will you be alright on your own for a little while?” she asked and was relieved when Rin smiled at her. The little girl nodded and Saiyuri smiled. At, what, six years old, the child was learning what it meant to be independent, or close enough.
“Well?” she asked Jaken irritably, he still looked nervous as hell. “Which way?” She really didn’t want to do this, and certainly not in her current state of undress, but it was either this or risk his wrath. She had come to the conclusion that he was unstable in more than one way, and there was only so much one could count on him as far as reaction was concerned. Saiyuri sighed as she followed the little servant down various halls and she lost count of how many turns, and which way they went. It would be difficult to find her way out again, always assuming she’d be allowed out. Saiyuri felt herself getting nervous, and tried to calm down by telling herself he wouldn’t kill her. If he had wanted to do that, it would have been all to easy when they were up in the air earlier. So, by all logic, it was unlikely that she would be a murder victim by his hands; but then again, one would be surprised what a person could live through. She nearly tripped over Jaken when he stopped, but quickly righted herself.
“Watch where you’re going human!” Jaken snapped at her.
“Oh get over yourself.” she grumbled irritably, not giving a damn if he was angry with her. “So what does his Lordship want with me anyway?” she inquired more like this was an interview she would rather not attend, if only she had some say in the matter. Jaken knocked very lightly on the door they had stopped in front of, and waited, nervous, and silent.
“Enter.” said the deep voice of the Demon Lord of the Western Lands.
