CHAPTER 5: REDEMPTION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome laid down on her queen size bed in surprise at what Inuyasha just told her a few hours ago. She shut her eyes and relived the moment for what seemed to be the hundredth time.
*Flashback*
“Kags I don’t know how it happened. All I know is that Naraku is planning on buying out my company and there is nothing I can do unless I can get another company to back me….. I worked so hard to build the company Kags….They will lay off hundreds of my employees. That bastard has it out for me.”
*End of Flash Back*
The phone pulled her out of her memory. She stumbled from the bed to get to the phone. “Hello?” Kagome answered in a slightly groggy tone as down on the beige carpeted floor as she cradled the phone to her ear.
“Kags are you okay? You sound like you’re a frog. Though, this prince charming wouldn’t mind kissing you….” Came a total playboy voice over the line, followed by a loud *Whack!*
“Awwww! Sango, I was just teasing." There was a slight pause before Miroku continued. "You know that Kagome, right?”
She smiled. “Yes Miroku, but I think you forgot to involve Sango in are little three some.” Kagome could hear in the background Sango muttering something about Miroku.
“Hold on Kags I am going to put you on speaker phone so we can talk to you.”
She waited patient until she heard Sango’s voice come over the line.
“Kagome?”
“Yes, Sango.” Kagome responded.
“Tonight we were going to go out to the club. You know, that new one. What is it call?” Sango asked, as her voice faded a little.
There was a period of silence before Miroku's voice shouted the answer out. “Fox Fire! Yeah, I know the guy that opened that new club just a month ago.” Miroku said with a hint of pride.
“I don’t know guys. I am not in the partying mood right now.”
“Come on Kags. Pleassssssssssssse! You haven’t been out dancing in a long time.” The pair pleaded.
“I know it’s just that…” Kagome got cut off from finishing her statement.
“Don’t make me bring Miroku over to help you dress.” Came Sango’s teasing voice. Kagome sighed. She knew that that was a threat and Sango would do it.
“Hey, I like that idea.” Miroku chirped.
Kagome could almost see the goofy grin crossing his face, just before another *whack* occurred over the line. Sango started to threat Miroku again. Kagome stifled a laugh when she heard Sango’s choice words threatening Miroku’s manhood. She then told Kagome that they would be there in one hour. Then the line went dead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A loud groan, rather un-lady like, come from her lips. She hung up the phone and sat on the floor thinking quietly to herself. 'I don’t want to do this! I just want to stay inside. I…'

'Why so you can hide away from the world?' Came a small voice asked interrupting her ranting.

'No.' She snarled. 'I just want to be alone.'

'But you’ve been alone for five months now. He isn’t coming back.'

'Oh! Shut up!' Kagome retorded.

'Do you want Kikyou to think that you gave up on life because what happened? She can already see your heart ache.'

'Do you always play the Kikyou card with me? This has NOTHING to do…'

'IT HAS EVERTHING TO DO WITH THE SITUATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have done nothing but mope around from five months!' The voice yelled at her.

'What do you know,' Kagome though viciously.

'I know that you still love Inuyasha and that you would do anything for him, however; he wouldn’t want you to stay locked away forev…'

'ENOUGH!' Kagome shook her head.

'You know I’m right. Have fun, and go out. Forget your worries for the night, tomorrow will come soon enough.'

*knock, knock, knock*

That small diversion was all Kagome needed. She got up from the floor and walked out of her bedroom to the front door.

“Hello, delivery for Ms. Higurashi.”

“Coming!” she yelled as she opened the door.

A young man, in his teens, standing outside the door held a huge package in his hand. He smiled politely at Kagome.

'That’s funny I didn’t order anything,' she thought a little taken aback.

“Sign her miss.” He handed her a clip board to which she signed promptly and returned back. He then transferred the package to her.

Kagome eyed the package suspiciously, and then shook the package but didn't hear anything. “Thanks.” She started to turn away when the young man said something to her.

“Oh, I almost forgot!” He opened the clip board and pulled out what looked like a magazine to Kagome. “All customers get this.”

Kagome took it but didn’t bother looking at the magazine. She watched him turn and leave down the stairs. As the figure retreated, Kagome then turned back to her bedroom with the package in her arms minus the magazine she tossed on the couch. She placed the package on the bed and began looking for any information as to where the package came from. Then the bold black lettering insignia caught her attention.

“Victoria’s Secret?” That peeked her curiosity. Her hand went to open the package when she did she found a letter inside. Her eyes read the mysterious letter.

Hello Kags,
This is for the club tonight. If you are surprised, well good. We’ve been planning this for a while. I hope you like the outfit. I know you will look delicious in it. Miroku likes it too, so be on alert. The outfit is sure to bring loads of attention. Bad attention. Hahaha! See you at nine o’clock.
Love Sango.

A devious grin graced her face. “Sango, you little… You are soooooo beginning to be influenced by Miroku.” She chuckled.
Kagome put the letter down then looked at the outfit that Sango had bought her. She gasped when she pulled it out. It was beautiful, however; she didn’t think it was something that she would walk out of the house with on.
