Author Note: I had a couple of questions in one review and I think the best way to put things is this:
Yasha acts sixteen due to the fact Inuyasha raised her alone and some of his attitude and stubborness rubbed on her and she has that fighting spirit from the group she was with. I believe although she's young, she acts very mature and very innocent. In this story, I made her act a little old for her age or in my world we call it too big for her britches.

It is a mystery how Yasha was concieved. Perhaps I hear the word challege coming from here? Could it be in the demon's nature that all male hanyou concieve if they are sexually active or not or did Kikyo have her hand in this? You be the judge on that.

Now, on with the story.

Chapter 5: The Doctor's Visit

Inuyasha had never ridden in a car. Of course as many times has he has been in the modern world, he had seen plenty of them. But now he was forced to ride in one and the expression on his face was enough to make anyone burst into laughter. He sat down in the passenger seat while Yasha and Shippo had the back. Yasha's eyes were half closed and she looked ready for a nap. Shippo, on the other hand, looked like he had ants in his pants and was hopping up and down with excitement.

"Shippo, stay still," Inuyasha said feeling like popping the kitsune over the head like he normally did when he pissed him off. But he held back since Yasha hated that and sighed. "Let's go, everyone," Mrs. Higurashi said and they drove off.

At the doctor's office, Yasha sat in Inuyasha's lap while Shippo amused himself with some toys in the toybox. "Do you want to play with him?" he asked and Yasha shook her head and buried it in his chest. "I think she's nervous," Kagome's mom explained. "Of course," Inuyasha agreed although he was nervous too. "Yasha, time to come back," a kind voice said and Inuyasha stood up with his child in his arms. "You're her father?" the nurse asked and he nodded. "First time," he explained and she chuckled. "Well, I'll explain e wee we check her out," she said and led the two in the back.

"First of all, we have to put these drops in your eyes," she said and Yasha raised one eyebrow. "Will it hurt?" was the first question out of her mouth. "It might sting, but it won't hurt," the nurse said. "You've been swimming before, right?" Yasha nodded. "Do you have your eyes open?" Another nod. "It's like that," she said and Yasha braced herself anyway. After the drops were in her eyes, Inuyasha took a tissue and wiped the excess off. "Was that so bad?" he asked. "It burns more than stings," she said frowning. "Well, same difference," he said and she sighed. "I just want this over with," she said. "Me too, baby," he said playing with her hair. "Me too."

A tall man with glasses and a beard walked in. "I'm Dr. Wilson," he explained shaking Inuyasha's hand. "I take this to be Yasha." "Yes sir," she whimpered now sounding like a puppy. "Let's see how your eyes are, little lady," he said and began the exam. Inuyasha just sat in the background and watched in interest.

Yasha's POV
At time I wonder how people in this world manage with these strange things they call machines. But it seems interesting at times. I remember the first time Kagome taught me to use something called a computer and it was fun. From the way this doctor sounds, he seems really nice. I wonder if he is the one who's gonna do this surgery thingy on me.

Normal POV
"Mr. Inuyasha, your daughter is legally blind," Dr. Wilson said seriously sitting back in his chair in his office. "I take it this was from some accident." -Ain't no way in hell I'm gonna tell the truth on this one- Inuyasha thought as he nodded. "Well, I have good news and bad. The good is she's a canadate for the surgery." "What's the ba Inu Inuyasha asked. "The surgery is very expensive," Dr. Wilson said. "How badly do you want Yasha to see again?" Inuyasha sighed. "She's four," he said. "She hasn't had the chance to live the world like you and I have. She hasn't seen things that she needs to see and she needs a chance in life to live without fear and to become whatever it is she wants to be. I can't speak for my daughter, but I know this. This child deserves this chance to regain her eyesight and not have to live in a world of fearful darkness." "Enough said," Dr. Wilson said. "I've made a decision. I've never once heard someone so desperate as if they are begging for their own lives. I believe Yasha would make a full recovery and she'll see the world through her own eyes and not what someone tells her. I will do the surgery and not charge a thing." The look on Inuyasha's face was amazing. "I can't thank you enough!" he said after he got over his shock. "This means everything to me and to her!" He shook the doctor's hand and walked to the waiting room. Yasha was trying on shades since the doctor said they would protect her eyes and the nurse had a good laugh about trying to fit them over her puppy ears.

"What did he say?" Kagome's mom asked. "He'll do it and we don't have to pay a thing," he said proudly and the woman had tears in her eyes. "Just wait until Yasha hears this!" Shippo said happily. "When did they set the appointment?" Mrs. Higurashi and a nurse overheard it. "We'll call and let you know," she said. "We're working on that now." "Thank you so much," Inha sha said and Yasha returned with some shades and a walking stick. "They said this would help me figure out obsticals in my way," she said. "Whatever that means."

Inuyasha chuckled while lifting her in his arms and kissing her cheek. "Baby, you just hang in there," he said. "Soon, those beautiful eyes of yours will see again."
