Kouga Addresses His Pack
A/N: I’m going to bring Sesshomaru into the story. He is friends with Kouga but he despises the fact that Kouga has chosen a human mate. I think that Sesshomaru will eventually allow his feelings to turn him into the villain of the story. I still don’t own Inuyasha. Enjoy!
Chapter5: Kouga Addresses His Pack
Nikah ran her brush through her long silky raven tresses. Kouga watched his mate as she carefully groomed herself. He placed a hand on her shoulder lightly. “Is it already time to introduce myself to your pack?” “Yes it is. Come on Nikah, they’re going to love you.” Nikah smiled and stood up. She allowed Kouga to lead her out into the mid morning sun to speak to his pack.
She shielded her brown eyes for a moment waiting for them to adjust to the bright light. Kouga spoke as his beg began to gather beneath them. “My fellow wolf demons, brothers and sisters, I finally have taken a mate. Her name is Nikah and she is your new Queen.” The wolf demons looked a little confused by Kouga’s words. Kouga continued his speech. “Nikah is your Queen because I am now your King. Nikah is pregnant with my pup. That pup shall be your new prince or princess when they arrive. You shall be expected to welcome Nikah into the pack.”
Nikah stepped forward and gave a timid wave at the crowd of on looking wolf demons before her. They shouted a cheer of approval which startled her at first. Kouga slipped his arm around his mate’s waist. “See I told you they would love you.” After the pack had laid eyes on their new queen a celebration followed. Nikah looked down as the wolf youkai people began to dance about and drink merrily.
She stole a glance at Kouga to see him watching the scene with some amusement. Nikah felt a smile soften her face as she continued to stare at the handsome wolf king. Kouga glanced towards Nikah’s direction and caught her admiring him. He smiled amused at how red her cheeks became upon realizing he had caught her staring. His warrior Hakakku approached them. “My King.” “Yes Hakakku?” “You have a visitor.” His eyebrows rose showing his intrigue.
“Oh? Who is it?” “It is the Lord of the Western lands, the great dog demon, Sesshomaru.” Kouga nodded for Hakakku to bring Sesshomaru to see him. Sesshomaru strode gracefully behind Hakakku his long white hair flowing gently in the breeze. Kouga stood to welcome his long time friend. “Hello Sesshomaru, to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?” “Hello Kouga. I simply came to see if your pack had begun to replenish it’s dwindling numbers. Have you chosen a suitable mate yet?”
Kouga grinned and grabbed Nikah’s hand. “As a matter of fact I have chosen a mate. Sesshomaru, this is my lovely mate Nikah.” Sesshomaru’s cold amber eyes stared hard at Nikah as they skimmed over her figure. Nikah felt very inadequate under the scrutinizing gaze of the dog demon. “Kouga, may I have a word with you in private?” “Of course. Please excuse me love.” Nikah nodded as she watched Sesshomaru lead Kouga a few feet away from her.
She felt her body give a shudder as Sesshomaru cast her another piercing glance when she looked at them. Kouga focused his blue eyes on the tall lean dog demon standing before him. “What did you need to speak with me about Sesshomaru?” “I thought you would have had more dignity than to mate with a lowly pathetic human. She will produce weak half breed pups Kouga!”
Kouga frowned at Sesshomaru’s distaste in his mate. “I chose Nikah because I thought she was the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen. Human or demon.” Sesshomaru snorted in disgust and then sniffed the air curiously. “I see you’ve wasted no time in getting the wench pregnant. I suppose it’s too late to change your mind and find a suitable demon mate.” Kouga spat his response out harshly. “Nikah is a suitable mate Sesshomaru, I don’t give a damn if she’s human!”
“So you don’t care that your union will produce weak pups as well?” “They will be strong. Do not disrespect my mate because she is human Sesshomaru. We are friends but Nikah is my mate and the mother of my unborn pup.” Sesshomaru rolled his eyes. “Fine. Have it your way, have weak pups.” “Look Sesshomaru, Nikah and I are happy. Will you celebrate with us?”
Sesshomaru gave a long and exhausted sigh. “I suppose that I will indulge you. I do not agree with your choice but I will say nothing else about it.” “Thank you Sesshomaru.” He nodded and they headed back over to Nikah.

Sesshomaru gave a long and exhausted sigh. “I suppose that I will indulge you. I do not agree with your choice but I will say nothing else about it.” “Thank you Sesshomaru.” He nodded and they headed back over to Nikah.
