I do not own Inuyasha or the characters in it, nor do I make profit from this story. Everything else is the product of my over-active imagination.
~*~ Epilogue Part I ~*~
~*~ As I promised, here is the epilogue for this story. I will be writing a Book II for this saga, following the events of the ending. The pairings will be Inuyasha/Kagome, Sesshomaru/Midoriko and Miroku/Sango. I hope everyone who read and loved Book I will continue to read the Book II too. Anyway, this'll probably be divided into parts, as this one's a long one. So bear with me okay? Again, thanx for taking the time to read and appreciate my story. Oh, and reviews will ALWAYS be welcome, I promise to still read reviews and answer whenever I can. So if you've got time, don't forget to review! Hope you enjoy this one. Jaa ne! ^_^ ~*~
~*~ Epilogue Part I ~*~
She was small; some would say petite, even. Her mass of dark curls has been swept away from her face by a barrette. She moved gracefully; albeit slowly, considering. She was pushing a shopping cart with one hand while the other balanced a cellphone to her ear.
"Yes, honey, I'll be home soon. No, don't be such a worry-wart. I'll be fine. Besides, you can't very well leave the office this early yet. You'll be fired,"
Her 'phone pal' must've said something funny because her musical laughter filled the air.
"Right. Then what would happen to us, starve? Speaking of which, I'm looking at some real prime steak right in front of me. I need to go now, honey, so I can finish and go home. And you need to work too. I'll see you later, okay? Aishiteru,"
She beamed before hanging up the phone. Then she let out a wistful sigh.
'Husbands,'
She ruefully thought.
'And an over-protective one at that,'
She had to mentally shake herself to stop her thoughts and focus at the task at hand. Just then, her eyes were drawn to something silver passing through her line of sight. It so just happened that 'something' had to be one of the gorgeous sights she's seen all her life.
He was at the produce section, scanning the selections of milk. The silver that caught her eye was his hair, worn quite longer than fashionable and was tamed into a ponytail. He had on these reall tight pair of jeans that hugged his buttocks just right. And what a fine butt it was, if she may say so herself. His back was to her, and she couldn't help but wonder if his face would look half as good as his ass did.
She wasn't disappointed.
As if on cue, he slowly turned around and looked her straight in the eyes. The first thing she noticed was the unusual color of his eyes. Molten amber was the only way she could describe it. And then he smiled at her.
She could swear her heart skipped a bit at that. She probably looked like a love-struck teenager, with her ogling him the way she did. And with her mouth hanging open too.
She blushed to the roots of her hair at that realization. And before she could make a fool of herself any more, she gave the gorgeous hunk a beautiful smile of her own before turning around and walking at the opposite direction.
But not before she caught his wink.
She was mentally berating herself all the way to the cashier.
'What were you thinking, flirting with a guy like that!? You're married, if you remember. And very, very pregnant too,'
She had to pat her distended belly fondly as though to remind herself. She was almost on her ninth month, with the doctor warning her that the baby come any time now, especially since it was going to be her first-born. That was part of the reason why her husband was acting like a mother hen. He was so worried about the baby's coming that he wanted to keep her under lock and key, if he had his way. But she scoffed at the idea, saying the baby will come exactly on the day the doctor said it was due.
Oh, how wrong she was.
There she was, standing at the line and patiently awaiting her turn, when suddenly a gut-wrenching pain gripped her. She had to bite her lower lip to keep from crying out, and she had a death-grip on the cart to stop her from falling down.
Just then, a pair of very masculine hands magically appeared to help steady her. She looked up to see 'gorgeous' looking down at her, concern obvious in his eyes.
"Are you alright?"
He was probably waiting for her to say yes, but she had to disappoint him.
"Nooo,"
She said gratingly as another wave of pain struck. This time though, instead of gripping the cart like she had, her hands found the ones at her waist and squeezed it like hell. She wanted to apologize, the poor man was probably cringing in pain after what she did. But looking up at him, she was amazed.
The man didn't even flinch.
"I think I'm going to have my baby,"
She whispered horrifiedly as she recognized the pains for what it was: contractions. The man didn't waste any time, scooping her up into his arms as though she weighed nothing and sprinting off to God knows where.
They were suddenly at the parking lot, where a shiny, red Ferrari was waiting. She was tucked at the passenger seat with the seatbelt fastened in record time. Then he turned the ignition on and the monster of a car sprang to life.
