Chapter Fourty-One

Taree woke up when she heard yelling from outside the room. She stood up and tiptoed to the door, Genkai was yelling at someone. She hadn't realized the old woman wasn't alone. Who else was here? She put her ear to the door, they were yelling loud enough for her to hear everyword.

"When are you going to stop?"

"Kiss my ass Genkai, no one asked you. Mind your own business." Yusuke?

"This is my business, I won't let you hurt her because you can't handle all your emotional crap. Try being honest for once, not only to yourself but to those that care for you."

"Like you got room to talk, I bet you haven't told her that your her grandma."

Taree's eyes perked up, no way. How? She'd met both set of grandparents before her parents were killed. Wait her mother had been adopted. Was it possible?

Genkai continued, "I will tell her when the time is right."

Taree slid the door open and stepped out. They both turned at the sound, "You don't have to."

Genkai nodded, she felt like smacking the dimwit around. "We can talk in the morning if you'd like. I'm headed to bed." She left the two alone.

'Okay, now this feels weird. Why is he staring at me like that?' Not wanting to be the object of his scrutiny, she stepped back inside and shut the door. What was he doing here anyways? She climbed back into bed, the door opened. "What are you doing in here?"

"This is my room."

"Not tonight it isn't." She layed on her side facing away from him. 'I'll ignore him and he'll go away.'

"I don't think so, you aren't going back to sleep yet."

"Who says? Isn't Keiko waiting for you, go shoo." She placed the pillow over her head, damn even it smelt like him.

"She has Touya to keep her company."

Did he think she was stupid? "Sure, you expect me to believe that she would want Touya over you? I don't think so! He might be cute be he isn't you. Try again."

He grinned and walked over to the bed. He watched her scoot over when he sat down. "Is that your way of saying you prefer me over Touya?"

"Hell yes, who wouldn't?" Wait he didn't need to know that.

"Do you prefer me over Yomi?"

Whats with all the questions? She sighed, "Of course, if I give a strip show I'd prefer it if the man saw me."

"Do you still love me?" He waited for her answer.

"Why do you care?" Okay so he wasn't going away. Maybe she should kick him off the bed, that might work. "Go away already."

He climbed in bed with her, his arm reached out to pull her close. "I care. Would suck to love you and you hated me. Besides I don't think you'd marry me if you didn't love me."

She squeeled and jumped on him. He almost fell out the bed as he caught her. She claimed his mouth in a hungry kiss, "I love you Yusuke."

"Good," His hands went to her shirt, pulling it over her head.

"We can't Genkai might hear." She blushed at the thought.

"Let the old hag hear."


{Six months later}


"Hey easy with that damn thing!" Yusuke yelled at Kuwabara. The big idiot had almost taken out one of the new windows, put in last week. Hiei was in the process of taking piles of lumber off the bed of Kurama's new truck. The little fire youkai was topless as well as the rest of the men.

Kurama jumped out the cab and started to help Hiei. Kuwabara put the board down with a clatter, it landed on Yusuke's foot. Cursing was heard followed by laughter.

"Sorry Yurameshi." Kuwabara started laughing.

Mai came outside to see what was going on. "What's all the noise about?"

"Baka broke my foot." Yusuke tried moving his toes.

"Lunch will be ready in a little bit. Hopefully Kagome and Tar will be back by then." Mai walked back inside, leaving the four men working.

"No fair, why do I have to work? It's not even my house. It's your house, why am I helping?" Kuwabara groaned.

"Shut up and hand me another board. This time not on my foot." Yusuke growled at him. He wanted to get the porch done today. With everyone helping the house's reconstruction was coming along great. Of course Hiei was here everyday to help, but Yusuke knew it was because Kagome was living here with him and Tar.

"Should make them girls help." The man continued to complain.

"What!" Hiei glared at him. "Say that again and I'll tear your voice box out."

"He didn't mean it Hiei, we don't expect either girl to help in their current conditions." Kurama handed Yusuke a board, they placed it down.

Barking was heard in the distance, the large dog came bounding towards the steps. He whined at seeing his way into the house was cut off.

"Jump you big oaf," Hiei growled at him.

Styles layed down placing his paws over his eyes. The two girls could be seen walking across the yard towards the house. Kagome was looking ready to kill and Tar was laughing hysterically. All three men sighed, they could only imagine. In a matter of minutes they were at the porch.

Kagome looked at the big hole where the porch use to be. "Great, how the hell am I suppose to go piss?" She placed a hand on her round stomach.

"Ask nicely and I might take you across." Hiei looked at her.

"Take me across or I'll jump dammit. Your damn kid has been kicking me constantly, he thinks my bladder is a trampolene."

"Fine." He had her across in seconds.

She gave him a quick kiss on the mouth, "Thanks." She ran for the bathroom.

Taree walked on the edge making her way over to her husband. He yelled at her, "Don't do that dammit, you could fall." He helped her to where he was standing. She wrapped her arms around his waist, he placed a hand on her back. "How do you feel?"

She sighed, "Hmmm, fine. Only threw up once on the walk."

"Thats not what I meant. I didn't need to know that." He placed a kiss on her forehead avoiding her mouth.

"Then you shouldn't have asked. You're all sweaty, sexy." She nipped at his nipple causing him to jump.

"Do you mind?" Kuwabara glared at them.

"Oops, the virgin speaks." Taree laughed as he glared. "Someone help me over, think I'm going to puke again." Hiei had her over in seconds. "Thanks." She walked inside hoping Kagome was already out the bathroom.

"Come on guys, I want to get this done today. Think the girls want to paint it tomorrow." Yusuke placed another board down, the sooner he got done the sooner he could convince his little hellion to join him in the shower.

Birds flew overhead as the four men continued to work. Laughter was heard now and then, as the home was prepared for the two couples about to start their families.
